I've gone here for nearly a month now, and it's a great facility. Had a free training session with Jake and he was friendly, patient, knowledgable, and also encouraged me to push through and get a solid workout in. Child care is very affordable with friendly staff and is a huge blessing to enable my wife and I to get fit. I definitely recommend this gym. Thank you, LA Fitness!

After being a loyal customer of LA Fitness for almost 15 years, I had to make a tough decision to quit LA Fitness for the following reasons:

- unacceptable & unprofessional attitude by a staff member (Javier).
- Javier didn’t care about me being a loyal customer.
- rudely approached my guest that her guest pass was not valid without even having the courtesy to tell me vs directly telling my guest.

I asked him whether the club applies the same passion (as much on the rules) to fix the broken equipment & broken toilets. He didn’t answer & didn’t care to answer.

I didn’t have a problem paying for the guest. I had a serious issue with how Javier handled the issue & dealt with a loyal customer. Javier showed no respect. This is fully unacceptable.

The personal training manager Jake is a big time liar. When I signed up personal training 6 months contract. Jake tole me I can cancel after 3 months if i don't want to continue. When I notified Jake I need to cancel personal training after 3 months. He came up with all of the excuses not to process cancellation. Jake was very rude and show no respect to people. It's a nightmare for me to sign up personal training at LAF Yorba Linda location.

Instead of cleaning the gym while it is closed, they choose the clean the gym during peak busy times. you will have to exercise while breathing in toxic cleaning fumes. makes no sense. if they fixed this and updated the locker rooms, it would be decent.

I’ve been a loyal member here, but my experience today was beyond disappointing. My sister signed up online for a 3-day guest pass — completely valid according to LA Fitness’s own terms, which clearly state a guest pass is allowed if you haven’t used one in the past six months. Her last guest pass was over two years ago.

When we arrived, I explained the situation and even mentioned that she plans to sign up for a full membership in a few months when she's home from college. Instead of honoring the policy, Tyler said “the policy changed a while ago”. When I pulled up the contract and showed him the terms were still 6 months, Tyler told us that this location is "special" and doesn't follow those rules. He refused to accept the valid guest pass and made us pay $20 for a single day.

It’s incredibly frustrating that a corporate-branded gym would disregard its own written policy and treat potential new members this way. If each location can make up its own rules, what’s the point of published terms? I expected better integrity and customer service from LA Fitness — especially after years of membership.

The front of gym, equipment is nice and lockers are Okay, Shower area, pool and jacuzzi are really bad. Old broken tile in showers, drains clogged with hair & debris backing up in shower areas. Moldy, dirty, mildew filled showers. Toilet paper and debris all over dressing room. The whole bathroom and wet area needs to be replaced. Super unsanitary. Pool and jacuzzi tiles need sever descaling dirty film around the top edges. There is almost no ventilation in the pool/jacuzzi area which makes breathing difficult. We felt dizzy from the chlorine fumes so I asked several people if it bothered them also. They agreed and we opened up one of the emergency exit doors which helped a little. Reported it to managers, hope it improves.
Solution.... a new maintenance company, scrub brushes, some elbow grease & descaler. Please replace broken rusted fixtures and steam clean a couple times a month. They close early on weekends so there's plenty of time to deep clean. Managers need to walk the gym, dressing & pool areas and check conditions instead of hanging out at the desks.

Yay, Pilate Reformer at LA Fitness!!! I felt great after my Pilates Reformer workout. I’ve been out of shape for a long time, but this is my third week of classes and I can already see results. It has strengthened my core and toned my whole body. All the instructors I’ve worked with are amazing—friendly, helpful, mindful, and very patient. I love the mix of challenging classes, and every week brings a different technique. So far, my instructors have been Shellie, Lea, Amy, Delaney, Alexandria, and Kristina—I love them ALL!

I’m especially glad that Shellie uses a wireless microphone since I have a slight hearing problem. I’m also happy that LA Fitness has implemented Pilates Reformer. I look forward to my classes every day. Highly recommended! 💕

Part of the reason I signed up here is because of the Waterworks Aquatics partnership program they have for kids. This gym is nicer than the ones down in Santa Ana or Southern oc. It's clean, the machines are nice, parking is plenty. Ask about the Waterworks Aquatics program if you want to teach your kids how to swim.

This has been the worst and most dishonest experience I have ever had with a gym.

The staff at this LA Fitness location pressured us into adding family members, saying it would be more expensive later. They assured us we had 7 days to cancel for a full refund.
When we exercised our right to cancel within the legal period, the manager flatly refused, they tried to shift the blame onto us.

This conduct is fraudulent, deceptive, and in direct violation of California consumer protection law.

We have already filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and we are preparing to take this case to court.

For those who like false advertising, harassment from employees, and being scammed out of $20, this is the place! I came in, completed the online form for the three-day free pass, and then sat down to talk about memberships and their costs after going through the gym's tour and sales procedure. After that, I informed them that I had no interest in purchasing a membership, adding to my current two gym memberships, or canceling them. Five employees tried to force me into becoming a member, but I didn't fall for their scam. They then informed me that I would need to purchase a membership in addition to my three-day free pass in order for it to be activated. I decided to just pay $20 to get it over with for a day pass.

It is not a 3 day pass; it is a three-day trial. Either way, it's $20 or more out of your pocket.

Also, they have a 45-pound plate that looks like it was dipped in acid and thrown up on.

I just wanted to come here to work out with two of my friends, but the 5 employees also took up 20-30 minutes of my time too trying to force me to get their membership. So yeah, a waste of time too.

Terrible experience at this LA Fitness location. While I was actively using a machine, a middle-aged man walked up and started moving my belongings—completely out of line and disrespectful. I came in with a legitimate free guest pass from the LA Fitness app, only to be met with a really off-putting attitude from the two staff members at the front desk. Instead of handling the process professionally, they made me feel unwelcome and looked down on simply because I wasn’t a full member. The energy was dismissive and unnecessarily condescending, which made the experience extremely uncomfortable. Locker room ceilings, especially in the showers, are questionable. I don't know if it's mold, but it's at least moldy-looking. Some of the shower drains pool water quickly once you turn it on. Locker room cleanliness in general is not the most appealing.

Perhaps it's a strategic state - to discourage overuse of the locker rooms, pending funds issue, or sending a signal to corporate, but I'm disappointed this is what the Yorba Linda location has to offer. The customer welcome at the desk is unremarkable and doesn't stand out enough to make up for the rest of my visit. Will avoid this location when I can in favor of other gyms.

VERY DISAPPOINTED, RUDE EMPLOYEES (JOSH)
I had to talk to Josh regarding a guest pass and was met with disrespect from the beginning of our encounter. As I approached his desk him and two fellow male co workers where being very disrespectful to a group of girls that spoke broken English laugh and saying “calm down one at a time we can’t understand you”. When it was my turn to talk to Josh he stared at me saying nothing and I asked is your name Josh with a smile on my face and he laughed and said yeah. I then explained that I had a guest pass and was sent to him to check in. He asked me if I was planning on joining LA fitness and I let him know currently I am not but in the near future I am going to. To which he laughed turned to a male co worker and loudly said “Lame answer”. From that point on I felt very uncomfortable with the situation and how I was being treated by Josh. He then told us he couldn’t help us because I had been to La fitness before as a guest. This whole interaction was very inappropriate and disrespectful. I hope La fitness takes the time to address Josh along with his other co workers and properly trains them on how to work with members. Very disappointed

The equipment floor is great. So is the rest of the facility. However, the locker's floor as well as that in the pool, saunas and shower stall areas seriously need attention. I just signed up with a new major insurance provider, get a gym membership paid for. I originally signed up with LA Fitness Yorba Linda. Looks like it is a fairly new gym and newer equipment. Guess they are trying to have patrons help pay for it all? I went in for my first and only free appointment and met with Courtney. I am only 67, she put me through floor stretches to see how limber I was. She never took me on a tour of the gym itself, lockers, machines. Nada! I did all the stretches she showed me. She took me to her desk and was talking about what she would like for me and proceeded to try to talk me into up selling me a personal trainer. Commitment of 6 months at between $340.00 up to $460.00 or more per month. I cannot afford to pay her commission and the personal trainers? I was not happy and left, complained to manager and cancelled with this gym. I just wanted to see the gym, the machines and get a basic exercise schedule. Not for them to upsell me a several hundred dollar trainer package? I called my insurance and they switched me over to 24 Hour Fitness which is closer to me.

Facility is great but if you have kids and take them to the kids club be aware that weekends are probably not the best location wise. The Anaheim hills location has better staff specifically for the kids club actually disappointing considering you pay for a service and not receive it. Recommendation hire new staff for kids clubs and upgrade some of the toys in there so kids are more occupied (note half the toys in there don't work).

I have been a member at this gym since they opened. It's always been a good experience. However, now the gym has decided to rent out the basketball court to kids teams. Don't get me wrong I am all about supporting the local kids. However, we do pay fees to enjoy the gym and to be cut off from playing basketball and not have a clear schedule posted is just not a good way of doing business. Furthermore, they have taken the primetime for most guys to be able to play and they didn't ask anyone about it. They just imposed their schedule on us. Not a good way to run a business guys; you should do better. 24 Hours is next door and they seem to want my business more than you do.

I was visiting from out of town for thanksgiving weekend at my daughters house and needed a quick workout I called LA fitness was told it was $20 for the day I mentioned I was a veteran and David the gym manager there was kind enough to waive the charge and let me work out for nothing being a veteran I was grateful I highly recommend LA fitness for recognizing us aging vets and would recommend this gym to all senior citizens and veterans also a very friendly atmosphere.

I am very disappointed with La fitness in Yorba Linda. Business owners NEVER OPEN UPA GROUP MEMBERSHIP UNLESS YOU PLAN ON NEVER FIRING ANYONE. I cancelled my group membership for my company Jacob’s mission, because I closed. I was told that I cannot an employee and that anyone that was an employee, has to be on the membership forever. Who has employees that stay forever. The turnover rate is so high. The recent staff La fitness just hired are very rude, especially the one person I dealt with 2 weeks ago has a real bad attitude. La fitness is very expensive, and also they do not clean their pools and spa. I got two infections from this facility, so I stopped using their pool and spa before I cancelled my membership. I should have left long time ago, but I have been with them for 15 years. They refused to give me the membership pricing I had before than raised the price by double. I joined 24 hour fitness, and they are 50 percent less, open 24 hours and nicer and cleaner.

Favorite LA fitness by far. It’s pretty compact, but has all the necessary equipment. I’m an early morning gym person, so my rating is based on that. From 5am to 6:30am the crowd doesn’t grow. There’s always a bench available and it just feels easy to go about your workout. There’s a good range of machines. At least two of each, so you’re not having to wait too long. Two smith machines and two squat racks. Only four stair masters if your enjoy those. Elliptical and treadmill machines upstairs. Basketball court, racquet ball courts and pool. There’s something for everyone here.

Great gym. Have been going there for years. If there was anything that I would change is the type of plates we use for free weights. They are not rounded plates but have flat edges and that can make it challenging to properly set up safely for movements like the deadlift.

This location is good with decent people also. I enjoy the gym that is not about competition all the time or at least intimidating looks. Though, with a few exceptions, there are folks here that socialize a bit too much than expected. I like benching, but the problem is there are 2 flat and 1 incline. The flat bench under there 2nd floor is not straight at all or perpendicular to the bar. This can cause injury and bad form. Not much equipment to go around, but they aren't abused or anything.

The gym equipments are nice and clean, and up to date. The restrooms are clean! Though, I am writing this review a year after the pandemic shut down and 3rd time opening. So all this could change in the near future.

Update 5/20/21: Good gym equipment, but this location is a social ground and I couldn't get any done.

I have work-out at dozens of La Fitness's..l really like the Yorba Linda location a lot..they are always super friendly...the staff always helpful...super clean..and the members working out at this place are always very friendly and courteous...

Great gym, hardly over crowded. Good COVID protocols that allow you to come into the gym feeling safe as possible given the complexity of the situation. Highly recommend this gym without reservations.

This LA fitness is very clean, new machines are great, racquetball courts, basketball courts, hot sauna, all access great gym! Staff is friendly and courteous. Highly recommended this LA fitness location to get a good workout!

Updated equipment and facility really improved this location. Knock one star off for having no shoulder press bench.

Edit: I'm changing this to 5 stars... I frequent several LA Fitness locations and this one takes the cake. Not necessarily because of equipment advantages or size, but because of the attention to detail and respectful clientele. The weights are ALWAYS put back and in the right location. This is a major problem at other locations, and it's a testament to both the staff/management and the attendees. Well done folks, keep it up

Nice gym! People come here to actually work out! I come to do my workouts here then leave. The last few times I have been here early in the day or later at night, the gyms are pretty dirty . Esp., the bathroom in the ladies room.
I know it gets used by a lot of people, but sanitary is really important too.

I been to a lot of la fitness and this one is by far the cleanest la fitness gym. My second favorite la fitness gym is in long beach on bellflower and stern. The staff is friendly here and the equipment is well taken care of. I highly recommend this place.

This gym is a haven of filth and dirt, the cleaning crew need to be fired for not doing their job. See attached pics, disgusting. More importantly, the management and ownership illustrate complete and total lack of cleanliness and are ultimately responsible for said conditions.

Guys, clean this place up! It's an embarrassment.
