I’ve got to give a special shoutout to Peter Yang, every time we walk in he’s got such a positive, energetic vibe 👊 the kind of energy that instantly makes you feel welcome, my roommates even noticed it, so it’s definitely not just me!

Peter also helped me pick out my first pair of bouldering shoes, and he went above and beyond, he took the time to explain everything, make sure they fit perfectly, and helped me choose what would actually work best for my current level, so you can tell he’s genuinely passionate about what he does and that kind of energy really makes a difference.

Overall, the whole staff has an awesome, welcoming vibe.

Highly recommend this place if you’re looking to get into bouldering 👌

Please arrange a bike rack. Indoors! The existing black racks do not allow locking bike frame, only the front wheel. Insecure! People end up strapping their bikes to the sidewalk railing and handicap parking signs. Friends with nicer bikes are reluctant to bike to the gym on weekdays after work because fear of theft after dark. After all, it would be so convenient not having to lock/unlock my bike. Hey and lastly Movement gyms in nyc have bike racks indoors, why don’t we do?

Very fun bouldering with my friends. Tons of options from beginner to advanced. Had a super great time and an amazing workout. Pretty much a climbing gym with the added benefit of walls for all skill levels.

Very poor air quality. They could just buy chalk eaters and that way the air wouldn’t smell like chalk.
Has some good stuff otherwise but like just get the chalk out of the air cause it’s gross. Also, turn on the ac. People climb here and it gets hot.

This gym has been on a downhill since opening, not because of the facility itself which is amazing, but mostly due to the route settings. The setters are very inefficient imo, often spending a whole day setting 5-6 problems, and the gradings have been extremely inconsistent. I escaped from Belmont but didn’t expect to run into the same issues. With these considered, I’m switching to Hyperion and will pause or even cancel my Mvmt membership.

Amazing rock climbing gym with friendly staff, huge climbing areas, all sorts of climbing types like overhangs and top outs, and great route setters. I can always expect new climbs every 2-5 days and the gym is very clean.

Incredible First Experience at Movement!

I just had my very first intro to rock climbing class today at Movement, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! From the moment I walked in, the environment felt welcoming and well-organized.

A huge shoutout to Mark, our instructor—he was absolutely fantastic. He was incredibly patient, thorough, and encouraging, taking the time to explain techniques clearly and making sure everyone felt comfortable and confident. You could tell he really cared about creating a positive experience for all of us, no matter our skill level.

The class itself was well-paced and informative, and it gave me a solid foundation to build on. I left feeling excited, empowered, and already looking forward to coming back.

Tends to run busy, but this is a very well-set and clean climbing gym. The weightlifting and cardio area is well-supplied, and the locker rooms are clean.

Love the gym but wish they had the Beastmaker 2000 hangboard as that is my favourite and a pretty standard training tool for a climbing gym. The Trango one sucks.

Supervisor Peter and team member Tyler are great! Love this place and will be back for more family fun great for all ages and abilities.

It’s sparkling clean, full of equipment, well laid out, walls have widely varying difficulty levels, the vibe is welcoming and overall it’s a great place.

Thank you Peter for setting us up for a great first visit!

Great climbing and workout spaces aside from the kids running around with no supervision. Also not sure why chalk eaters weren’t installed

It's a nice cozy bouldering Gym in between the Belmont and Sunnyvale locations. The routes are set well and are fun to climb.

Very nice gym, but very crowded. Climbing is definitely popular in the area. If you go off-hours (outside of 5 PM - 7 PM) it's a stellar place to workout. If you go on-hours (between 5 PM - 7 PM), be prepared for lines. The gym equipment is fantastic, and the climbs are well-set and well thought-out. There is also a lot of variety of climbable surface; from some slabby areas, to overhung areas, to stemmy corners, to top-out walk-off boulders, to a cave, and the climbs are often heavily non-linear and make use of the layout. Nice bathrooms kept clean. I also really like that this is the first climbing gym I've personally seen that makes supplies available en-masse to the public; bandaids, tape, cut cleaning "stuff" (peroxide, alcohol wipes, etc) are all right there at the front. I usually have these things on me but sometimes forget them so it's convenient that they are just right there when I need.

Only downside as others have mentioned is there are definitely a lot of kids running around like it's a playroom. Would suggest for individuals under 12, some sort of free class teaching them climbing etiquette that they have to demonstrate an understanding of before allowing them to use the facilities (even with a parent). Somebody will eventually get hurt, probably quite badly when they have a 150 lb+ adult fall on them. I don't hold this against the facility really because I've never heard of such a requirement at a climbing gym before, but I've also never seen a customer demographic for a climbing gym so full of younger kids. I know there is currently a requirement for parents to supervise younger children in the gym in an at-most 4:1 ratio or something, but it's not being followed.

Was pretty psyched about this gym. The most problematic is their hazardous air quality: the whole gym is under a smog from the chalk and fans when it gets busy and when we approached the staff they said nothing could be done. This is pretty absurd. All is alright, shower, no sauna.

Way too many kids they let running on the mats underneath climbers and the parents don’t seem to be around. On top of that it’s incredibly crowded

Went in expecting a nice new climbing gym, but it was very mismanaged. The gym itself is really nice but I think the staff just doesn't care much about it. Everything was dirty, cleaning supplies were not getting refilled, lack of engagement with the members.
Movement Belmont is smaller and older in that sense. But the staff there is wonderful. I will give this gym a try in a week. If none has changed, I will stick with the Belmont one.

Very clean and well/organized! Happy to see they added a couch section for lounging and plenty of cubbies for storage! Hopefully no more shoes/jackets/bags lying around on benches like in sunnyvale/santa clara. Also great to see an isolated beginner wall, will be a good space for kids to play.

Went opening weekend. Super crowded because it was free. Staff at the front are super patient. Entry was confusing. If you haven't been before or is been at least a year, go to the left part the store but before the card scanner and fill out a waiver on one of the tablets.

Lots of bouldering areas and variety of levels. There's also a gym area with weights and cardio machine. It looks well stocked. I saw a sled. I spotted a yoga studio as well.
