I called this location very kindly for more information about how to cancel my membership. As soon as I mentioned how to cancel my membership Cindy pretend she couldn't hear me on the phone and hung up on me. I called again, this time the phone ringing on and on with no one to answer. I have no issues with team members taking lunch and nobody being at the front, but a sign that reads “lunch break back in 30 minutes, with a time when they are back would be nice. I have been waiting for 13 minutes and haven’t seen an associate. This is unacceptable customer service, and a waste of a black card membership. I worked out really hard and wanted to do the hydro-bed. Either have a planned lunch or have 2 people on staff 24/7. This is ridiculous and not the first time this has happened. This is the only planet fitness where I cannot find team members for assistance with setting up black card access to tanning and Hydro bed. Unacceptable. Why do I even pay more the $10 a month. I am beyond unhappy. Steer clear of Milpitas planet fitness after midnight. It’s ridiculous.

The guy at the counter (Gustavo) told me that he will charge me extra if I use the facility again. He told me that I became a member in walnut creek and won’t be allowed to use the gym in Milpitas. 1. It is extremely hard to cancel in the app, in person or over the phone. I would never sign up with this company again. They continuously bill me even though I canceled.
2. This club seems to be managed by young inexperienced people.
3. The bald short Hispanic man that works overnight...he came into the women's locker room while I was in there and was very rushy and rude because he needed to clean and according to him I had been in there an hour. Why was he keeping tabs? Creepy behavior. I canceled because I did not feel safe coming to this club. The locker rooms and shower needs a deep cleaning because they are nasty. When I spoke to the manager Zach he laughed about my concern with the presence of a male employee coming into the locker room while I was getting dressed. I would not recommend any woman in my family go here.

Unlike many other "planet" halls, this hall is perfectly clean, there is no smell in the toilet and shower, like in the Burbank hall. The shower for the disabled works perfectly clean and the shower curtains are clean, cleanliness is everywhere, this is pleasing! There were no problems with the staff, like in Burbank, where the manager probably thinks that he inherited the hall ... While I am in SF, I will come here with pleasure. I'm giving this review mainly on billing. That aside, this gym is okay.

Issue with billing: it makes absolutely no sense to have a bank account and back credit card for reoccuring membership payments then ironically get a late fee. What was rhe point of signing up with 2 different payment methods? Lol my bank account number and routing number was written correctly from my void checks so there should be no issue with billing and payment. I contacted planet fitness yet they said its independantly owned and operated. And said I have to go in person to resolve or call. Planet fitness does not answer phone calls which I do not understand. You're just sitting there at the front scanning memebships. Its not hard to answer a phone. I expect employees to always be at the front checking/scanning memberships anyways. Not like the workers do much. They don't enforce the no bag on floor rule. Its not like theres much to be done around the gym. It just means they're not doing their job and are too relaxed. I have a funny feeling this is going to be headache to resolve the billing. If it doesn't get resolved properly and correctly I will switch to 24 or somewhere else.

My intent is to stregthen my upper back. I had degenerative disc disease found in MRI and physical therapist and neurologist avocated for strengthening my back back muscles. I opted to do their excercises on top of going to the gym. The gym has a lot of machines but feel like too many tredmills. I havenly really gone to gym before bud did weight training in college. It was relieve the machines visually tell you and point out what part of the body it works out and there is QR code on each machine to show you how to do it. I appreciate this alot. Some workouts my therapist taught me I was able to use some of those machines with pulleys with adjustable heights. I don't know what its called but people dont seem to linger on those too long which is good for me. The crowd is not as much as 24 which was a deciding factor for me to try this gym. Foam rollers are available if you ask at the desk. Bit different than traditional ones you get yourself at 24. These one are half sized lengthwise but still get the job done. I wish they had a place to view foam roller excercises. I feel like nobody at the gym knows how to use a foam roller or the benefits be nice if they made an opportunity to help people explore that. The app has excercise workouts but never what I'm looking for.

The app's UI is nice to tell you the crowd amount at any give time. Its nice to indicate whether I should hold off until later in the day or help find go times to go. My thing is I want to go in and do my intended workouts. I don't like waiting on others. For example they only have 2 lat pull down bars. However there is a few other machines that target back muscles I was able to explore. When I'm working out my back, I want to work out my legs. I don't want its called but squat machine where your sideways is always taken. I wished they had more of those machines. The app does allow you view some workouts. I don't see any of machines on there. I assumed able able to view them on the app but can't. I mean it would make sense to keep track of progress in "My journey" section of the apps UI but its a missed opportunity. I guess I like to prepare beforehand and dont want to spend time figuring what machine I should use if I could have looked it up in the app beforehand. If its somewhere in the app and not just qr code links, I can't find it. And it should be easy to find if it is in the app.

I only recommend this gym as a begininer gym and maybe go somewhere else. What they do and how resolve my issue might make me go somewhere else.

So I brought one of my friends as a guest so that he can try the massage chair and hydro massage. They denied it and when I asked if as a Black card member if I can skip it and let my guest try them both, they offered a tour and said only can try one. Looks like they don’t care about retaining members especially new members. I’m canceling my membership. So much for planet dumpster. Thao the manager didn’t care and seemed like she was least interested in the company or the business or members.

I visited when visiting from out of town and found this planet to be on par with most planets across the country. Was in town for a month and cancelled in a month. I asked the dude in the front desk will there be any charges on my card if I cancel the membership and he said no. I am sorry about my broken English. It’s not my first language but I am gonna try to do my best to explain to what happened to me at the Milpitas , CA Planet Fitness. Over 15 years of going to different gyms in Santa Clara county like 24fitness, Gold gym, and 2 yrs of being a member of Planet fitness, I got profiled by a white guy at the desk who out of no where called me back to the desk after I checked in to ask me my picture. When I asked why, he said “ security purposes.” I said, I have been a member for years and nobody asked me about my picture and this is my third time coming to this Milpitas Plant fitness and nobody said anything about a picture or security until tonight. He said “all the previous planet fitness you were made mistake and they should have taken you picture for a security purpose. ” I have never heard of a gym where people were asked their pictures for security purposes. I have seen gyms asking for photo ID to proof people but I have never seen a gym where the front desk demands a picture for security reasons, so I showed him my picture ID to proof to him that I was who I said I was, but the guy won’t even let me in to work out. I felt targeted and profiled by Milpitas Planet Fitness and I hope the guy who profiled me Joshua is happy. I will never come back to any planet Fitness and I will say if you are black and want to join planet fitness or already a member think again or at least stay away from Milpitas planet fitness. They are really bad people.

I usually go to this location because they have more amenities, and there is more space to workout in the back of the gym. However, customer service is lacking, and so is sanitation. Here’s my experience with the Milpitas location thus far:

- Front end management greet, but they also give you a stinky face. This is absolutely unprofessional, and I do not appreciate that. as a matter of fact, I’ve acted the same way to them because I’m only there to work out, and I try to not interact with them as much as possible.

- They do not clean up the bathrooms often. Once, I wanted to use the toilet, but it was clogged, and when I went to reach out to them, they gave me a very dirty look, and was absolutely reluctant to he not only my request, but reluctant into others as well.

- They have a lot of broken treadmills that have not been fixed for months. Although very convincing that they changed some of the treadmills, I wish they could be doing better.

The only upside to this is that they have abdominal machines at the back of the gym, where I’m able to work on abs and cardio more often, compared to the Fremont location where they only have mats.

I came here with a one day trial pass. The staff was nice, and everything was well maintained. About a million cardio machines, and pretty empty, which was nice.

I was surprised to find a lack of what I consider core lifting equipment, such as regular barbell bench and Saturday racks (only Smith machines) and preacher curl (machines only). Also no Frremotion double cable machine.

Bout time a Planet Fitness arrives in this region. Didn't hesitate to cancel my 24-hour fitness membership primarily for the price. This may not have all the amenities as other gyms, but way better than my apartment community gym and staff is constantly cleaning. 😊

UPDATE 06.29.23: Although still a great gym to come to, seems recent months they brought in some newer employees who are not paying attention as well as more experienced employees. Clean Equipment and facility, well maintained bathrooms, very good reception and support to the members from the front desk, all equipment seems to be working and in great condition.
The one thing I would love to see a change to if we can is ......
All the TV channels are great except for the Food Network. It shows nothing but fatty meat, Greasy heaet destroing food, high High carb dishes that ride on the hips, unhealthy offerings and yuk yuk yuk.
Truly and candidly, for those who are trying to get in shape. These temptations are probably not the best.
