My experience at Planet Fitness has been nothing but amazing. I’m there every morning from 5:00 a.m. to about 7:00/7:30 a.m., and it’s always the perfect way to start my day. Peaceful. Clean. Quiet. The staff is incredible, the energy is consistent, and the early-morning crowd has such a good vibe.

i would not recommend this location to anyone who wants to be treated courteously and respectfully. The women at the front desk are rude and disrespectfully. on more than one occasion they have refused to scan my phone app to check me in, and told me i had to do it myself, and when i asked them to do it, they stared at me in a hostile way. i went to Chad, the trainer who, like all the men who work there, super helpful, kind, polite and a great representation of how Planet Fitness should treat their customers. Although i'm 76 years old, and not tech savvy, the women refuse to touch my phone like i have a disease. By contrast, the men instantly help me, flying through the checkin, which takes a bit longer since i have a black card. The men are always friendly and give great customer service, but, overall, i wouldn't recommend this location to anyone.

The equipment and staff are wonderful! I’m giving it a 1 star because of the stations it has on their TVs. They have political stations on. There should only be neutral programs on. Like sports, HGTV, sitcom, animal planet, etc. I don’t want to be bombarded with politics.

This planet fitness is very clean and not dingy. The NIGHT staff is very helpful and friendly, I wish i could say the same for the day crew. I've gone in on my hour lunch and have gotten hassled more times than I should have, asking for ID when they have my picture on the screen, and I DID confirm with night crew that my picture is in the system and it is visible to them so no real need to acting like your security at a club. The girls during the day have major they don't even greet you when you come in and if they do it's with attitude of course. It can get a bit busy but not too bad at night. Do yourself the favor and avoid a headache and go at night when it's a bit more laid back and you don't have the gym police to deal with.

Good place to work out, clean area, clean machines, clean restrooms, dressing rooms and showers. Lockers are available. Air conditioned with televisions and music played over the loud speakers. Comfortable atmosphere with front parking lot. No swimming pool is my only complaint.

I had an utterly disappointing experience at the Planet Fitness in Whittier, CA, and I feel compelled to share this to warn others. As someone who travels frequently for work and visits multiple Planet Fitness locations, I can confidently say this is the dirtiest and most poorly managed gym I’ve ever encountered.
The facility is consistently a mess, with equipment scattered haphazardly. The hygiene standards are abysmal particularly in the restrooms, which are so filthy they look and smell like they’re being used as a makeshift shelter by the unhoused. The wiping stations, meant to maintain cleanliness, are perpetually out of paper towels, and it’s clear the staff doesn’t enforce the policy of wiping down equipment after use.
This lack of basic maintenance is unacceptable for a gym that claims to prioritize a clean and welcoming environment.
To make matters worse, I was unfairly singled out by the manager for a supposed dress code violation. I was approached abruptly and asked to leave, despite never being informed of any dress code policy during my membership setup or visits. Meanwhile, I’ve observed other members wearing the same thing I was wearing, which makes the enforcement feel arbitrary and discriminatory. The inconsistency in applying rules is glaring, especially when basic hygiene protocols are blatantly ignored.

The worst part of this experience was the manager’s behavior 🤮.
Her attitude was shockingly rude she barely made eye contact, gave curt, dismissive responses, and treated me as if I were beneath her. Her lack of professionalism and poor customer service skills left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. It’s no surprise the gym is in such disarray with this kind of leadership.
Planet Fitness would greatly benefit from investing in customer service training for her and ensuring better oversight of this location.
I strongly advise against choosing this Planet Fitness for your gym membership. There are far better options out there that prioritize cleanliness, fairness, and respect for their members. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.

Dropped a star for cleanliness. When I first started coming this place was pristine. There was a guy in here every morning cleaning Everything. One day a week I would see two guys, they would clean the trash cans in one of the shower stalls.

I haven't seen anyone in a couple weeks now.

Bathrooms have steadily gone from clean to gas station levels. Can't tell if it's Poop smears on some of the lockers but it's been on them for weeks. Urinals been out of commission all week. Changing stalls have the same issue.....

Cmon yall, I know it's not a "premium gym" but what happened?

Been coming 2 weeks straight.

PROS: Staff is friendly (protected my headset when I left it in a locker). Gym Cleaned every morning the bathrooms stay clean, and the Spa portion feel clean as well. I come early and for the most part you can always find the machine you need available and operational.

Stock Playlist is decent (I like that every song is shown at bottom of TV screen) I stopped using my own music.

Use the Chair massage everyday, Water massage is great for the legs/gluten but doesn't seem to do much for my back.

have yet to use or see anyone use the tanning stations

CONS: No free weight(bump plates) squat rack or bench - ONly have Smith machines. I can see parking as challenging when it does get busy later in the day.

This location doesn't provide body wash/shampoo in their showers (if it did I'd give it 5 stars)

SUGGESTION/REQUEST: Provide soap/shampoo dispenser in the showers. A blow dryer in the 2 mirror areas would be nice as well.

The newer nightshift staff members are much more friendly and helpful than previously so kudos on that, but the variety of stations on the TV monitors is failing. If you stay in treadmills and cardio machines for long periods of time you are either looking at a broken screen, a "no service" screen or forced to watch biased news networks like communist news network CNN or MS-DNC. If you are going to be biased bring back Fox news to balance out the nonsense and use some of the membership money to replace broken tvs and pay for the cable subscriptions. Once these items are corrected I will increase my rating. Thank you.

Walked in 2 staff members sitting talking by the front desk and a manager behind the front desk.

It was not busy I was the only one checking in and not one of them acknowledge my existence.

Bathrooms were comparable to a bus stop. The only good thing was toilet paper was stocked but seat covers were all over the ground.

When I left it was the same staff members ignoring my existence. No smile or have a great day.

Will do my best not to come back to this location.

Don’t leave anything in there lockers they are going to open your lock and steal your stuff, I had my wallet stolen money, debit card, and credit cards inside. And they will do nothing about it. I told one of the employe he just said sorry there’s nothing we could do he didn’t even bother trying to check cámaras or at least doing a report or writing down my information.

I have been going to this gym for over a year regularly and I love it. The gym is always very clean, including the bathrooms and locker room. The staff is friendly and fellow gym goers have good etiquette. Machines are well maintained and never really see any out of order (expect for a cardio machine here and there but there is so many of them). I feel very comfortable here, only thing is that it is a small gym, but since I go earlier I do not have an issue getting machines, or room to stretch/ do free weights.

Having been a member of LA Fitness and influenced by negative perceptions of Planet Fitness on social media, I was pleasantly taken aback by the cleanliness, tranquility, and friendliness of the Planet Fitness environment. The black card membership, priced similarly to a basic membership at LA Fitness, comes with a plethora of added perks. While I had hoped for a broader array of weightlifting equipment, the current selection proves more than sufficient for an excellent workout. In sum, my experience with Planet Fitness has exceeded expectations, and I envision remaining a satisfied member for the foreseeable future.

Everything is good except for the bag policy. I have to carry my equipment because I have a back problem. I was doing my exercise on the floor, and I had my bag equipment on the floor to use it, and a staff member was rude. She wanted to take my bag away when I was using my own equipment for exercising. Common sense! I was not disturbing anyone with my bag on the floor, nor was I making a mess.

I'm not done with my membership elsewhere, but I checked this spot out since I'll be new to this neighborhood soon. I'm definitely going to be switching memberships when my other membership at 24HF expires. I was especially impressed with this gym's cleanliness and tons of (working) machines. The young lady who gave me a tour, Kaitlyn, was awesome at explaining all amenities, trainer schedules, and memberships available. There is no pool or saunas here, but I've never used these anyway. The atmosphere felt friendly and safe. There is security here, a plus! The deciding factor... this gym is 24/7, clean, with tons more machines (that don't have "out of service" signs... ughhhhh!). 24HF has a gap for the entire area where I've lived... Whittier, Montebello, my drives are usually far for a 24HR gym, which is funny bc that is their name, but some are still not 24 hr... so, easy decision!
