I go here and still do, the gym is nice but the equipment is very mediocre. They have only 2 machines max of everything, even for most used equipment. they'll be 5 people waiting for leg extensions while they have other machines that don't ever get used. repairs take a long time as well, the water fountain broke since the handle broke off which is a easy fix. Took almost 2 months until fixed which was annoying since it was the only water fountain in the whole gym.

Today marked my inaugural day, and I am already contemplating making it my final one due to the abysmal maintenance of the machines. Specifically, the cables adjacent to the benches are broken, and the other machines that do function are missing handles. While one malfunctioning machine can be substituted with another, we were left with no alternatives in this case.

Went here for years because it was right next to my house, only after moving elsewhere do I realize just how bad it was there. Broken equipment stayed unfixed for months, there was constantly water leaking from the ceiling, I often saw roaches crawling around on the second floor of the gym, the parking lot smells like pee and weed, people who are perfectly able-bodied park in the handicapped spots every day and management does nothing about it. Avoid this gym at all costs, the staff is hella rude too and also they have zero drinking fountains or water bottle refill stations.

Gym is ok, however if you value your hearing do not come here. Everyone slams weights, my ears ring afterwards. Front desk does nothing. Saw two guys deadlifting with iron plates on the bare concrete. So incredibly loud. Also they got me on a year contract and you can’t quit for dissatisfaction with the gym and any addons are permanent (like bringing a friend for a fee). Terrible gym do not come here.

I almost never write reviews. But this time I have to speak up.
Over the past month, this gym has completely fallen apart. Half of the machines are broken — and nobody seems to care. They’ve been sitting there for weeks with “Out of Order” signs, collecting dust, while management does absolutely nothing.

Half of the treadmills are gone, so now there’s always a line just to do basic cardio. On top of that, there’s constant construction — noise, dust, paint fumes, debris everywhere. Breathing in construction dust while trying to work out is just fantastic, right?

Yes, I signed a one-year contract. I’m paying, so I’ll keep showing up. But if I’m holding up my end of the deal, maybe the gym should hold up theirs — by providing a clean, functional environment. Right now it’s a complete disgrace.

If you’re thinking about getting a membership here, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Spend your money somewhere that actually respects its members and maintains its equipment. This place deserves zero stars.

Do not buy a membership with this gym. The people at the front desk don't care about anything but getting their commission and they will lie to your face about the charges and what you get out of the membership you are buying. I was a member for over 2 years and had my membership price raised after signing a contract and once I spoke to the person at the front desk about it they lowered the price back to normal after they gave me attitude and told me I was lying. I was glad that they restored the price back to normal but the fact that they are ok with raising it without sending any type of email just shows you how shady they are. Once I canceled my membership in August about a week prior to the billing date, they still ended up charging me for the month of September. After more arguments on the phone and more attitude being given to me after being a loyal member for over 2 years, after a month I was finally able to get my $50 back that should never have been charged from me in the first place. I would steer clear away from this gym and there is also NO DUMBBELLS EVER! It is also extremely dirty and the locker rooms stink really bad. All these nice reviews are because of people losing their key and they give free keys if you write a good review. DO NOT BE FOOLED. Also, I just got off the phone with a worker that went by the name of Sylma, she literally started screaming at me on the phone when I was asking her about my refund which was just ridiculous. This gym is a joke. Do NOT GET SCAMMED.

Let me tell you about my experience at this gym. Overall, it's an "okay" place. If you're a beginner, it's a suitable option, like Planet Fitness or Crunch.
However, the value really doesn't add up, starting with the pricing. When I first started, my monthly fee was only $10. In less than four months, it went up to $15 and then to $25. When I asked the front counter about the increase, they told me it was because I didn't have my checking account saved on file. They said I would save $5 if I added it, so I fell for it. Instead of my bill going down to $15, it jumped to $25. To make things worse, the week after I signed up, I got an email saying they would be increasing their fees. Why even have a promotional deal if you're just going to raise the price a week later?
Now, let's talk about the workout area. The selection of weights is very odd. While it's easy to find 35lb and 45lb plates, trying to find smaller weights like the 2.5s, 5s, 10s, and 25s is like finding a needle in a haystack

Ultimately, for the same $25 price, you can get a much better deal at a more established gym. You could go to Crunch on Van Nuys for half the cost and its 24 hours! or to an LA Fitness or 24-Hour Fitness, which has multiple locations and all the equipment you need for about the same price. The fee they charge now doesn't make sense because you get less than what you can get somewhere else. The original $10-$15 range is fair, but $25 is not justified and some people are paying even more!. I do enjoy working out there though as it does have a nice vibe and a small sense of community among other lifters although the price just isn’t right. As from what I know this gym has a history of doing these types of predatory sales they used to be called USA fitness and from what I recall they did the same thing, charged outrages prices for a basic gym and that is probably why they rebranded as speakeasy.

i just started so i’ll update as i go but so far the staff seems nice, the showers are pretty clean, and i haven’t seen any broken equipment. i do wish they would have someone go around and put weights away or reorganize them (though i wish people were courteous enough to do it themselves) because i’ve been struggling finding a matching pair of dumbbells, or finding the right plates i need for my set because they’re spread all over.

Don’t be fooled by all the glowing reviews here. The front desk literally asked me to leave a “nice comment” in exchange for a free key tag. I was honestly shocked — I’d rather pay the $10 than lie online.

When I signed up, they weren’t specific at all about the details. They don’t explain when the annual fee hits or warn you about extra charges — they just pop up out of nowhere. The sauna is disgusting and doesn’t even get hot. The dumbbells are never available.

I’m not the type of person who usually writes reviews, but after reading all these fake comments and experiencing how shady it really is, I felt I had to say something. Specifically, Zulma is to blame for this bad management — she’s the one who asked me to leave a fake review.

Save yourself the headache and go somewhere more transparent and professional.

This should be a great gym they have good equipment and space but they do not take care of anything. My partner found a cockroach in the mens bathroom. They have no water stations, it's super hot and stuffy with air going. The weights are never re racked, I've gone at 5am right when they open and I can never find a pair of 5lb weights it's like the gym has one single weight.

I’ve been a member here for a while, but the experience has gone downhill. The steam room has been out of service for months with no updates, and equipment maintenance is slow, several step machines stayed broken for months before finally being replaced. When i asked staff about recent changes made to weight areas I was told it had been this way for years and tried to make it seem as if I was new and had no idea what I was talking about. There’s also no water fountain or refill station, which is a basic amenity most gyms provide.

Unfortunately, the staff hasn’t been helpful, and I couldn’t find any way to contact corporate directly, no email or customer service number listed. When the membership was $20 a month, I could overlook some of these problems since the gym is close to my home. But now, at $40 a month plus a $50 annual renewal fee, it no longer feels worth it, especially when Planet Fitness charges $25 and even lets you bring a guest for free.
