The Studio (MDR) brings you the intensity of the Lagree Method workout. This is an instructor-led total-body class that melds together elements of Pilates, cardio training, strength and flexibility to create a revolutionary, one-of-a-kind exercise program. The workout is done on state-of-the-art Megaformers, which provide constant resistance allowing the body to shift quickly and smoothly from one exercise to another while increasing the heart rate to get the blood pumping. The Megaformer attacks each and every muscle in a concentrated and focused manner to sculpt strong, powerful, and lean bodies in a safe and measured way. The workout is ever-changing, keeping you challenged, so you never get bored!

BEST PILATES IN LOS ANGELES <3 been a client for a few years and I strongly believe Studio MDR (any of the locations) is the best pilates studio in West LA and is ran as an exemplary business. It's a thorough workout and you will leave sore. Every location is beautiful and staff is always great and welcoming to every person. Studio MDR has been a key player in my fitness journey.

This is my local studio and I've been coming consistently for the last few months. You can't beat the location truly. The class is always challenging but I never regret going. How can you be upset when you look up and see the pink sky. All the instructors are super great but I absolutely love taking class with Charly. Her energy makes the class what it is, which is why i've become a regular. I simply can't believe that by the time I take her class she's already taught 5 other classes and her energy doesn't waver. I really appreciate the time she takes to make corrections and to be so encouraging. She's definitely a gem.

I have done Lagree in NYC, SF, Paris, and San Diego. I went to Studio MDR in Playa Vista and found the class way too easy. The legs and arms were barely challenging. In fact, we did maybe 90 seconds of arms. And the legs should have been with more reds or yellows. We weren’t even offered a harder setting. I will try another teacher to see if I just had bad luck. The machines were in good shape but the studio is run down and the interiors are outdated. Super disappointed for now.
UPDATE: The studio reached out to me to solicit my feedback directly. We had a good chat and they offered to credit me a class which was very nice. Will try again.

Ellie was amazing from start to finish! From the second I walked in, she was inviting, positive and easy to talk to. She was very clear and detailed oriented, making it easy to transition from one move to the next. The studio MDR has been my # 1 favorite workout for the past 9 years!! It works, and continues to work. The instructors are exceptional and provide a top notch Lagree Method workout. The studio MDR provides one of the most effective workouts around, from my perspective.
I have extensive experience with different forms of exercise and used to teach The Dailey Method in San Francisco, which combines elements of Pilates, Ballet and Orthopedic movements. I was taught and mentored under Jill Dailey (founder). Learning from Jill and teaching her classes for many years was a superior and invaluable experience. It provided me with a strong basis of understanding about the human body and what makes certain forms of exercise higher quality. I came to appreciate the value of proper form and alignment during exercise, especially for injury prevention and recovery.
With my background and years of experience, as well as having tried a variety of different workouts in this city, my view remains the same: the Studio MDR is the best workout in LA.
I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about building real strength, improving their physical health (and thereby emotional health as well) and enhancing their physiological capabilities, and overall quality of life. There's nothin' like a studio MDR class to infuse an instant good mood afterwards!

...because (like) I wouldn't be able to steer, ya know? Like, get it? Like my arms wouldn't work. You know, like, coz class was hard. Ya dig? Highly recommend her for Lagree Pilates! If I needed someone to paint a house, I'd probably look for a licensed house painter, though. Similarly, if I needed someone to cook for 47 people, I'd probably hire a caterer. But since this is about Charley Gribble and her teaching a reformer pilates class at Studio MDR in (strange coincidence) MDR, I am saying that she is the tops! Just don't take my spot in her class. Popped into 1 of 4 of these super trendy locations! Pilates with high end reformers available ! Ample amount of classes be sure to schedule your class a day before to make sure there’s a spot available for you. This is a bright and lovely studio with great pops of color. There are cold drinks to purchase and a little area for clothing, non slip socks ect. The actually fitness room is pretty large with I’d say about 25 reformers. Awesome place !! Great workout, I was feeling good within the first few minutes of the class !

I had my first essentials class Wed and still feel the burn in my glutes two days later. I never get my butt so this class is great for butt and legs, but I’m disappointed I don’t feel my core as much as I thought I would and feel it was lacking a full body experience. Maybe that’s because I have a strong core and have been doing Pilates for a decade so I’m used to the planking...I will definitely be back because my main focus for this class is glutes, and would definitely recommend the class to others and tell them to be prepared for all different lunges and planks.

Your front desk staff is ALWAYS so friendly and welcoming. I was nervous to come in at first because I was a newbie and everybody seemed so advanced but the staff was beyond helpful with their smiling faces and it hasn't stopped regardless of being a member now for 3 months. The instructors are always pushing us to be better and not to give up even though every workout is SO challenging physically and mentally. The girls there aren't 'clicky' like many other boutique workout facilities. It's a very inclusive environment which makes it easy to make new friends and encourage each other along the way. I moved to CA with no friends/family and I easily found The Studio (MDR) a place here that makes me happy to be a part of! Customer service is the key to any successful business and I truly believe that The Studio (MDR) hits the nail on the head. Keep up the good work and keep the culture you've clearly worked so hard to achieve! Thank you for everything, you have no idea what it means to me. All of the smiles is just a bonus to the fact that I always HATED working out and ALWAYS compared myself to others and the workout itself is JUST SO AWESOME! This review was primarily of my experience at the Playa Vista location but applies to all.
1- Studio MDR instructors provide a varied and very challenging workout in less than an hour. Better results in 50 minutes than I used to get in 2 hours at the gym.2- The instructors are consistently demanding of their students. Demanding in the sense of knowing what each student can do while not letting us slack off but being aware of any move or position that might cause injury. 3- Everyone I have encountered in my year at MDR from the Front Desk to the instructors is really focused on our experience and all are just genuinely nice to be around. 4- Studio MDR has put together a great team and the team maintains itself well. There is frequently another instructor taking class with us which speaks well of the entire organization. Thanks
