I can't say enough about how Uplifted, and specifically Coach Cruz, has transformed my life. My journey started on the recommendation of my best friend, who couldn't stop raving about Cruz—and now I completely understand why. I was hesitant about personal training at first, but joining Uplifted was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I had never experienced a tight knit gym before coming to Uplifted, I can’t see myself going anywhere else now. My personal trainer, coach Da’lone Miller, is a super knowledgeable guy and THE KEY to get me going and staying on the right track. I also can’t leave out the awesome coaches that lead the U60 classes, if you want a real kick-butt workout then I would definitely recommend checking these out.

I started at Uplifted nearly two years ago on a pass and haven’t turned back. I was looking for a strength training gym to teach me how to properly lift because I was a cardio bunny who had never lifted before and I fell in love. I love the classes. There’s never any cattiness or judgement just good vibes and good music. I’ve made some really good friends here. I attend the night classes so I work primarily with Joe, P.R., and D.J. All of the coaches though are great in their own way and all bring something different to the table. Not only can I see the difference in my body but others as well. I can lift heavier and my stamina has increased. My son even does youth training with D.J. and he can’t wait to go every week. He looks up to D.J and sees him as a mentor. So if you’re looking for a strength training gym with a little cardio thrown in get a pass and try it out! You won’t regret it!
If I was asked what I thought need to be
improved I’d say there needs to be a 7pm class on Friday. It’s nearly impossible to get off work at 5pm and make the 6pm class with Friday traffic. The 7pm class Monday-Thursday is always pretty full so why wouldn’t there be one on Friday?

I've been training with Coach Cruz for about three months now, and it’s been an incredible experience. From the start, he took the time to listen carefully to my health goals and created a personalized plan to help me achieve them. Unlike many trainers who might overlook this, Coach Cruz went above and beyond during our consultation to really get to know me and tailor his approach to my specific needs.
His knowledge of exercise, proper technique, and programming is top-notch. Every session starts with a proper warm-up and power/dynamic movements. He ensures that I’m performing each exercise with correct form, which has been essential for my progress. What sets him apart is not just his expertise, but his genuine personality—he’s easygoing, supportive, and just a great person to be around.
I’ve had low back discomfort, and Coach Cruz skillfully adjusted my training to work around it, making sure I could continue doing the things I love without having to stop. His ability to adapt and still push me forward has been a game-changer.
I can’t recommend Coach Cruz highly enough. I’ve already told my family and friends about him! The entire team at Uplifted is warm and welcoming—it truly feels like a family. The sense of community here is amazing. If you’re looking for a gym that will help you get closer to your goals, make you feel like a badass, and welcome you into a supportive community, Uplifted is the place, and Coach Cruz is your guy!

i have know coach cruz since my first day at uplifted, a year ago. he was the first class i took and his energy was incredible. he was welcoming; informative, brought great energy to class & always checked in to see if i was doing okay. his positive energy had me waking out with one thought, "i think i like it here". i watched coach cruz's stories and decided i wanted to try PT also. i sat down to meet with him and we discussed my goals and expectations of him and he delivered. his customer service skills were and are exceptional, he covers every detail of the process, he responds in a timely manner, he is always willing to answer my questions even if they are not related to our PT, and keeps me informed of what is going on. i was beyond satisfied with my first PT journey with coach cruz that i am currently on a second journey with him. not only has he helped me grow as a person and build confidence, he has made our fitness environment a welcoming and safe place. i would recommend coach cruz to everyone and anyone, id like everyone to be as happy as me when working out.

This review is for Coach Bryant Trieu. Choosing Coach Bryant as my personal trainer has helped me to achieve a level of health and wellness and injury mitigation that I thought was behind me as a busy senior executive and dad in my 40s with pre-existing knee, shoulder, and back injuries.
Working with Coach Bryant, I've achieved dramatic increases in strength and mobility and significantly decreased impact of pre-existing injuries. I have enjoyed weightlifting all my life but before I met Bryant, I had given up on some of my favorite exercises like Bench Press due to pre-existing injuries. With his guidance, I was able to return to bench pressing injury free. I even learned to deadlift safely for the first time despite some pre-existing back issues. Since we started training together two years ago, my bench press and deadlift persona records have nearly doubled to 320 pounds bench press and 400 pounds deadlift, without injury and all natural. Coach Bryant even corrected my walking and running mechanics such that I was able to hike and run without knee pain for the first time in over a decade.
I've worked with many trainers over the years for short periods, but Coach Bryant is the only one who's been worth sticking with for the long-haul given the demands on my time, my injury prone nature, and my demanding price to value expectations. Don't let his baby face fool you - Coach Bryant brings an unparalleled depth of scientific understanding and experience to our sessions, leveraging biomechanics and exercise physiology in ways I hadn't experienced before. This comprehensive approach goes beyond the basics, addressing not just fitness and nutrition, but also my mindset towards training, recovery, injury prevention and longevity. Coach Bryant's sessions are meticulously tailored, not only to challenge me but to ensure that we're making progress in a way that respects these injuries. His expertise in strength training, coupled with a keen focus on injury prevention and rehabilitation, has been instrumental in my progress.

To begin, you don’t know how out of shape you really are until you start up. Before starting my training with Coach Bryant, I knew I needed a professional to help me reach my goals. Just 8 months later, I've gained 13 lbs of lean muscle, feel much better suited to handle the physical aspects as a nurse, and overall greater confidence in myself . What sets Coach Bryant apart is his expertise, commitment, and attention to detail. He works with you to make sure you get the most out of your workouts. I especially appreciate his understanding, as a night shifter it’ll get difficult with timing, but he is able to work with me. I haven’t had much luck with working out properly and finding good trainers, until I met Coach Bryant. He taught me everything I know today about working out. It’s great having him as a trainer because it helps with accountability so even on the days I don’t feel I want to work out, I know I have to put in the work. He helps push me to keep improving my form and lift heavier, while being right there to watch me and step in if it’s too much. He also helped me make a healthy meal plan which I’ve been sticking to for over a year and have had great results. In the past 2 years of working with Coach Bryant, I’ve gained 36 lbs of healthy weight, and confidence in myself to do hard things. He has equipped me with the knowledge and habits to maintain these changes for life. I heard about Cruz’s training services through Uplifted, he’s a U60 coached and offered me a free training session. During my first session, we tested out where I was with my strength and we talked about where I wanted to be in the future in regards to lifting. Cruz is so informative and supportive that I immediately trusted him with training and I can honestly say I have never had a bad training session with him, whether it be with the U60 classes or our PT sessions. I initially wanted to just do the 3 months with him but I have seen so much progress with muscle and strength growth that I am going to continue with this program! I would 10/10 recommend Cruz for training, whether you’ve been lifting for years or new to the game, Cruz will always make you feel comfortable and supported. I was a member of Uplifted Athletics. I took a break for about a year. During that time I’ve been looking for a personal trainer. Then I started to follow Cruz’s journey. I saw his dedication towards himself and his clients. Also, I like how he carried himself. I can tell he is genuine, cool, and hard working. I did a consultation with him and half way through my consultation I was ready to sign up. I was ready because I felt good about cruz during my search for a trainer then training with him I knew he was the one. CRUZ IS THE BEST! Highly recommended. Uplifted Athletics! Let’s just say I was never really into group workout classes. Since I join their challenge. I’ve become accountable with my healthy meals. The trainers are caring and highly motivated. Every time I show up there always in such a positive attitude and always pushing us during class sessions. Each trainers has different methods of training style, nonetheless they do a fantastic job in cueing the workouts. Also, I know a few the trainers from CSUN and I have nothing, but great feedback. I can’t wait what this facility has in store for us in the near future. All I can’t say this facility will continue to grow.

I’ve been at Uplifted for about 3 years now and I absolutely love the environment. Before I arrived at Uplifted, i was testing the waters with weightlifting and didn’t get serious till I joined Uplifted. I love the progress i have made since I started here. My form is a whole lot better! The coaches and members are supportive and push you to do your best. If you’re a newcomer, coaches will show you modified versions of the exercise movement and they are not intimidating at all. I definitely recommend this gym if you want to try out weightlifting.
