Villain barbell is one of the few weightlifting gyms in the area and is definitely a memorable one. The owner Fred is very friendly and accommodating, he was able to let me train at his gym early in the morning as I was on vacation with my family so it was my only time to train. It has everything you need as a weightlifter, just to name a few: eleiko bar, pyrros bar, comp plates, and many more. This place is excellently well kept and would be a great spot for anyone to train either beginner or experienced. Wasn’t able to meet anyone there due to the early morning training but from the community board they have there with all of their collective yearly goals it seems like a supportive friendly group. Definitely a must visit or if you live in the area even better, jealous that I have to go back home but it was such a great experience, I will definitely be back.

Joined Villain last year thinking it would just be a place I would go and casually get some lifts in but, immediately, I was welcomed with wide open arms by Fred (the owner) and all other members! They have been my lifting fam for the past year and I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a great community who will motivate and support your lifting journey and a gym with solid lifting equipment then go hit up Villain Barbell!

I was first introduced to Villain Barbell about a year ago. I started with drop-in’s as I was fairly new to Olympic weightlifting. Everyone was so friendly and extremely helpful. As a beginner, they gave me pointers on my technique and mobility drills to work on. A year later, and I’ve drastically improved my strength, technique, and mobility with Uncle Fred’s program. I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive group of people there at Villain.

Villain Barbell is an awesome neighborhood gym for olympic-style weightlifting. The best thing about it is the community of lifters. Everyone is super supportive and friendly and makes lifting here a lot of fun! Fred is a great coach. He’s knowledgeable about the sport and very patient and a keen eye to provide the guidance needed for such a technical sport. I’ve learnt loads over the last few months! It’s really easy to find motivation to get yourself over there to lift when you’ve got a great space, community and coach!

Villain is more than a gym; it’s a close-knit inclusive community of amazing lifters. Coach Fred is very talented and passionate about what he does, he helped me and countless other members so much with improving technique. The gym is very well-equipped and has flexible hours, so you’ll get your workout in no matter the schedule. Highly recommend Villain Barbell for strength athletes of any level!

Villain is a fun close knit community that provides excellent support to your fitness needs. I really enjoyed the feedback and tips from Coach Fred. He has an excellent eye and makes sure to provide the what and why on improving my lifting. The rest of the gym and its members are supportive and encouraging in every facet. Be it in training or in competition. I highly recommend Villain to anyone - whether you’re new to fitness or have already been training for years, this is the place for you.
