The only reason I give this gym 2 stars is because they really are the only “decent” sized gym in Santa Maria. Even with the size though, it is very cramped. They only have 1-2 of each type of equipment so you can stand in line for minutes trying to get a machine or rack.
Also cancellation is a pain!! I went to the desk to cancel because I was moving and the person at the desk “filled out a cancellation request”. I initiated the cancellation a week and half before moving and after 2 weeks of being officially out of the area they still charged my card so clearly they didn’t do a thing. I tried to call them and no one ever answered the phone so I claimed them as fraud for my credit card company. Absolute trash!!

We just wanted to take a tour of the gym as we have been thinking of leaving our current gym cuz of all the kids. We walked in and the guy working the counter didn't acknowledge us till we spoke up asking about a tour. He informed us that we need to leave our id's with him. Ok I was about to go get mine when we noticed that others had theirs on the counter face up in some cases. The last time we looked into this gym they had the computer facing out with the previous person's info still on the screen. And my hubby noticed it was an old computer system. He wasn't comfortable with it cuz they said they always had the computer facing out. (He works in I.T. ) It's a shame that companies don't value protecting people's privacy. Identity theft is a serious thing..

Place use to be awesome. Pools been closed for years.. and the hours of operation suck. They close early on fridays and weekends and they open later on weekends. It’s pretty crazy. It’s like the owner of that business thinks like a high schooler. Zero stars if possible. This gym is a nightmare to cancel. I would suggest sticking with the YMCA, I tried to cancel my membership and the owner company ABC fitness refuses to stating I need to be disabled for life or move a significant amount away. This is unacceptable and I don’t recommend anyone be in this predatory and forceful situation. Not recommended. Horrendous experience.

If you're looking to join a new gym, any other place would be a better choice. This claims to be voted the best in town but there is 0 chance. This gym has good equipment but the customer service is the worst i have ever seen. Not just in a gym, but in general. The front desk employees are rude and snobby. They don't care to help people or even greet people. They straight up ignore you. They will quite literally send you away before helping you. They're too old for these childish high school antics. If I was the owner I'd be having serious talks with them about why I'm paying them, but I doubt that man even cares about anything except the money from memberships. Even if this is the case, he is losing money by having that representing his facility. All this tells us is there is no training or even expectations for employees🤦🏽‍♀️ this isn't the first review detailing what horrible customer service this gym has. If you're not having a bad day, those sour faces and rude tones will definitely make sure you do! I hate writing reviews but unfortunately this place is the worst in the area just because of the front desk employees. Calling them out by name seems immature but ladies, your picture has been posted here already by another person....DO BETTER!

I love this Gym, I go to this gym. But a few things need to be fixed. #1: Front Desk customer Service needs to be fixed, better welcoming, get off the phones. #2:It does need better ventilation or tell people to come in with better hygiene, half the time it smells like weed. #3 Have your staff make sure everyone follows the gyms rules, especially the ones that say no free weight in green turf area.

If I was the owner of this club (Randy) I would truly be embarrassed by the employees he has running the front desk. I came into this gym one evening, and I asked them if I could have a tour of the facility because I was interested in joining the gym. She looked at me and said everything is online. The manager was standing right there and didn’t say a word I asked about specials and they said well those just ended you’ll have to look online, again the manager standing right there and didn’t say a word. I have never been treated in such an unprofessional Tacky and careless manner. They stood behind the front desk with a little smirk on their faces, acting like they didn’t want my business Well, I walked out, and that’s exactly what they won’t get is my business. This was the worst example of customer service, not to mention, while I walked around the gym by myself, it was dirty, it had a foul odor, and there was no ventilation, and the locker rooms were Filthy dirty. I would definitely NOT recommend this gym if you happen to looking for a gym to join in the Santa Maria area.

I recently read some of the reviews for this health club and I must say they are pretty accurate. I purchased a memebership here last month and decided to ask the front desk employees information in regards to adding a family member to my membership. The girl was dismissive and unprofessional. She clearly couldn't answer my question about the total cost for a yearly membership accurately but instead of being honest about it she proceeded to throwing numbers out as if my business was not important. I was quite alarmed and proceeded to asking her again for a clear amount and if she could please explain where she was gathering her numbers from(considering she never pulled up a binder or even made an effort to confirm if the information she was giving me was accurate). At this point another young lady rudely interrupted our interaction by saying an amount for the cost of a yearly membership. When I asked them how they were calculating the amount they spoke to one another, no longer acknowledging me. Both girls appeared annoyed and bothered by my questions and their demeanor was quite unprofessional. At this point I addressed them both by asking to speak to a manager because they were incapable of answering my questions. A young man by the name of Ryan then intervened the interaction by aggressively saying "Don't talk to them like that or I am going to have you leave the gym". I was shocked that this young man thought that his approach to this incident would make anything better. I asked this individual what his role was at the gym and he stated he was the manager. Ryan's attitude was unprofessional and condescending. He looked upset and instead of de escalating the situation he made it worse by adding tension. I informed him that he was rude and I would like to speak to the owner because at this point I felt disrespected. Ryan refused to share any contact information doubled down by stating that he could take my information and I would receive a call back. I reached my phone and decided to pull up the company email. I wrote an extensive complaint about the incident and I am looking to hear back. In conclusion, it is unfortunate that the front desk crew has very little understanding about customer service and etiquette. I look forward to hearing back from the gym owner so I can update my review.

Update: I received a reply email yesterday afternoon that did not have a name or lead as to who specifically replied but the email stated that my membership was terminated and I would be refunded the amount charged for the year membership I purchased. I think that we can all agree that this could've been resolved if the owner would have called me as I requested in my initial email and we would have spoken about the incident. Instead they chose to cancel my memebership because Ryan the assistant manager(not the big Thorr looking guy but the thinner loki looking kid) was offended and his ego was hurt through the interaction. I'm compelled to believe that it was him who received my complaint and decided to terminate my membership out of pure pettiness. Overall, I am glad that this happened because I much rather get a membership elsewhere and not worry about poor customer service and rude front desk employees.

While it is a nice gym they really get you by charging you an extra fee on top of the gym membership that you already pay. If you want a gym that charges you extra and dont tell you about it go to this one. And also if you want to cancel your membership they still charge you for a month that you wont even be using there gym. That is Ridiculous. They should just cancel membership and thats that.

Just went in to sign up and join WV. I was informed they were playing a game, with an eye roll. "It's all on-line, but he could work up some prices for me." Why have a front desk if there's no help? Lots of workout equipment and I like that they have a girls only area. I would give it 5 stars but they have TVs that play very inappropriate videos. Trying to get my work out in and I can’t look up without seeing a man in a g string. Like seriously? Nobody wants to see that while trying to workout. You can keep the music but take the TVs down. Love the free weight side.The gym bags people bring in there is ridiculous especially when you have plenty of lockers in the men's bathroom! So please enforce this ask them to use the lockers. They use there bags to hold equipment plus you're always tripping 😂 over them. ENFORCE! Great clean gym. Highly recommend this gym.

Western Village does not answer e-mails, and won’t cancel memberships on phone. They make you go into the facility. I have emailed several times that I do not wish to keep my membership, and they still send me a bill. Poor communication, no person on the other end of the phone, and no email responses. Zero stars for a manipulative business plan. Especially while people are struggling financially.

Stopped in Santa Maria overnight on the way down to L.A. and decided to drop in to Western Village to see if they do day passes. I was served by Woody and he couldn't have been more helpful, welcoming or friendly. I've used gyms across the country on holiday and this place is among my top picks. Huge gym with separate free weights, strength and conditioning and cardio areas. It also has a pool and sauna. The free weights area has loads of benches, a couple of Smiths machines, squatting areas decline bench and lat pull down machines etc. It also has a rack of dumbells that go up to 125lbs. It has a really nice atmosphere too and I managed to get a really great workout. Overall.... Great gym, well situated but above all, awesome customer service! Thank you Woody!

You have to consider anything over 2years irrelevant. also if you loose your tags all gyms charge a stupid amount, and all gyms make cancellation a pain in the ass go month to month to avoid this. Review time so I've been to all gym in town I thought the newer ones were better, nope they just charge more for nothing. This gym has the best gear in town flat out best pool area (in shape had a bad pool-poop problem led to a pink eye out break) great saunas and more non-weight based training than all others combined, and ots not over crowded by a bunch of flabby douches acting like that too cool for the world
