Best gym in Auburn! After over 4 years of not doing any exercising besides a walk here and there, trying to work through trauma, and feeling like I needed a big life change, I found Jodie and her gym, Woodworks Fitness and Recovery. Her gym has made an incredibly positive impact on my life!
I have been going to this gym 5-6 days a week for about 2 months now, I love it and I have noticed a huge difference in my strength, balance, and endurance from day 1 to now. You will see results! It is a lifestyle for me now. :) I was never a group workout type of person, but this place is amazing. The atmosphere is positive. Everyone in the gym is supportive and kind. The work is hard, but it's supposed to be, so do the work! I am so excited and pumped to workout everyday at Woodworks Fitness and Recovery! Thank you Jodie for this incredible and invaluable gift you are sharing!

I first met Jodie when I was looking for a local gym for my husband. He attending a class and then took a private lesson. He came home and told me I HAD to go to Woodworks and take a class. He was hooked, and so was I.
I have been working out with Jodie and Andrea for a year, and my health has completely changed. I am strong and fit. Knee pain is completely gone because I have strengthened all the muscles around my knees. I thought I would have to give up back packing, which I love, but now I am enjoying it more than ever with increased balance and strength on the trails.
And then there is the camaraderie. This place is family! I have found my tribe~people that are focused on positive living and positive aging. I have made lifelong friends. Gratitude for Jodie and her passion for building strong bodies and minds.

Very fun and friendly atmosphere. It’s easy to drop in for the 1-hour group classes held morning, midday, and evening most days of the week. Jodie is a good trainer not just because she understands how to work out effectively, but because she has cultivated a kind and supportive culture in the gym. Getting up early to work out is hard, but it’s much easier to do when you’re surrounded by positive people!

I have worked one-on-one with Jodie since I was in seventh grade. She has always been very helpful and knowledgeable in the programs she puts me on. Since I have begun training with her, I transitioned from tennis to rugby and I am now playing College rugby at Cal Poly thanks to the solid foundation we created together. Some of my accomplishments include a half marathon, High school rugby national champion, and playing division 1 college rugby. Staff provide helpful cues to maximize "burn" (and minimize injury risk!) and modify for your needs. Can't wait to come back (my arms may need to wait 1-2 days ;-). )

Jodie is an amazing trainer! Her incredible knowledge of body mechanics and strength training helped our teenage kids with speed, agility and their overall athleticism. Woodworks Fitness and Recovery is located in downtown auburn off lincoln way next to the Auburn Bodega. Trainer Jodie Wood offers private training, group sessions and recovery options at very reasonable prices. Without Jodie and Woodworks I would not have been able to lose 20 lbs before summer! I am so thankful for her and cannot recommend her and her facility more. Come check us out!
