Please Read entirety:
I unfortunately was a member of this gym since Fall 2022. Today I canceled my membership finally. I want to be clear on the fact I would have canceled this membership years ago if there was a gym local castle rock, that was similar (ex:Vasa fitness…) I also want to state I’m 19 years old and don’t take time to right reviews, but this gym has certainly earned it.

With that being said, since I have been going to this gym my biggest complaint was the hours. You would think a 24 hr. Fitness would be open 24 hours, right? Wrong! For 3 years they have been closing at 10pm Mo-Thurs 9pm on Friday and 8pm on the weekends. After asking different staff why they aren’t open 24 hours over 3 years there was a different answer pretty much every time, “not enough people go late, we don’t have the pay roll for late hours, we can’t find people to work…” While hopefully there was a little truth in some of these answers, nothing changed, despite multiple employees promising 24 hours would come back in the future.

Furthermore the gym used to be packed at regular gym times -15+ minute wait for anything- after work in the morning etc, however this last 8 months or so it’s starting to thin out. I believe people are canceling, same as myself. There was multiple times where the parking lot would be full at 5am with people waiting for the gym to open just for the person opening the gym not to show up. This was incredibly frustrating for me and everyone waking up before work to workout. If I can’t get a machine at 5 in the morning I don’t believe you can tell me there isn’t a strong enough “demand” for 24 hours.

Moving on, the gym was just disgusting, the management of this gym is so incredibly terrible. Most, not all, of the staff is nice, however they change staff very, very often. It’s clear the management is very poor and the wages must be as well. The men’s locker room is just as atrocious as other reviews say, they don’t keep up with cleaning anything, they fail to maintain the basketball courts, and machines are often “out of order” for months, just neglected. As someone who plays basketball regularly, it is very easy to replace a net and in-expensive as well, but they couldn’t even keep up with that. Even the little things, like lights flickering out, bad water pressure, broken fans, red water filter from the water fountain, if you can think of something small that you wouldn’t normally care about it was probably broken at this gym.

Overall my experience at this gym has been very bad, the only reason I have stayed thus far is because, this location is one of the only local locations with a basketball court. As someone who prioritizes health and physical fitness I prefer to play basketball for cardio rather than running on a treadmill. Now I have 2 other gym memberships, in addition to this gym, so I have decided this gym is just not worth it to me anymore. I encourage people to stay away from this gym so hopefully something will change, because no matter what I and many people have said nothing has changed in over 3 years.

I have lifted for years and this is easily the most mismanaged gym I have ever been to. This isn't a staff thing. The staff are always nice. This is a management thing. There is no management.
The men's locker room should be condemned. Something has been leaking from the urinal for well over a week. I cannot believe people walk barefoot in there.
Besides being disgusting, this gym obviously has zero regular inspections on their equipment. There is a biceps machine where the handle isnt correctly secured. Someone is going to eventually get that bar in the teeth. This has been this way for well over a month. There is a hamstring machine that for months has been secured with a pin for a weight stack instead of the correct spring loaded pin.
Anyway, this place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. 24 Hour used to be amazing.

This is a well equipped gym, which works well for my needs. I purchased a membership for my wife because she is a swimmer, and they have an indoor pool. Unfortunately, the pool is always filthy. Dirt on the bottom of the pool, including multiple used bandaids. It’s clearly an afterthought, if that. We have brought this to the attention of the management twice, and there has been no change whatsoever. Really disappointing.

I used to love, but they don't keep the place clean. The bathrooms are filthy with buckets under the urinals to catch leaks, and stalls have poop/ toilet paper everywhere (like the worst frat house or, the bathroom in the port auth in NYC). The floors are gross and the equipment is never cleaned. In summary, it's not worth the discount. I'd rather pay more and not get sick/ be subjected to the filth.... (very sad because i used to love going here).

Good gym and people but one thing I noticed since under new management is the lack of mopping(restrooms, toilets, handles) I remember seeing the previous staff always on their toes with cleaning, the new staff are great but I feel like they need a better leader to run the facility. If I was running this facility it would be at its highest potential. They can make that room downstairs that opened up(was closed off to the public for the longest time)a better functional room(more dumbbells, squat racks, kettlebells, more plates, bands. Hmu if any openings lol. S/o to Rian and Collin for helping a girl who was having a seizure.

Needs a few more leg equipment and updated pin loading machines. Get rid of the Hoist and Cybex instead….but a good place to get a good enough workout in for the basics.

Rion and Collin have always been spectacular employees. I once lost a work hat that would have costed me a lot to replace. I called the gym and both Rion and Collin answered and immediately began searching for it for me. They were able to recover it and safely store it. Rion then stayed open slightly later for me to come in after I got off of work and return it to me. They are both always so friendly at the front doors and always have a fun conversation ready for you. Jenna is also a fantastic employee and always greets with a smile.

The fact that your plan of action is to have your front desk hawk members for positive google reviews is comical. Crazy thought fix the issues at the Gym. This gym is terrible it use to be an amazing place to work out, things got fixed leadership actually cared about the place. Clearly this goes past the gym GM and is an issue with the DM. Gym is going downhill quickly for lack of repairs, safety, and cleanliness issues. Been here +2 years. Equipment is constantly out of order and breaking daily. There is no cleaning crew ever to be seen so lots of grime and gunk everywhere. Requests to fix or replace are acknowledged but never fulfilled. The sauna is disgustingly bad and will often have splinters or exposed screws and nails from incorrect repair attempts. God forbid you drop something on the floor, the 10 second rule is voided here!! When a pad splits they must have a scraps pile? They take the best piece and staple it so you end up getting scratched on the next use.

Sucks this is happening because they used to be a great workout place.

UPDATE: Saw the Response to this review. It would have more meaning and heartfelt if there was a timeframe given as to when the repairs and sanitary issues were to be fixed by. The gym community has ask numerous times and is always left with no results.

I’ve had multiple experiences with the staff that really stand out. Awesome team all together! Really want to shout out Rion . I am someone that has a hard time not saying something when I know it needs to addressed . The first time was a potential big issue with the upstairs restroom . Mentioned it to Rion and was super appreciative of letting him know and addressed it personally , to be transparent I’d probably would have handed that off lol . Second time was when one of the machines was no operable , he immediately came up and attempted to address the issue in the moment . Machine was fixed . These days, we live in a technological age where we scan our phones with QR codes wherever we go. However, I'm too old to download such systems. Since starting 24 Hours Fitness, I've asked the front desk for help every time I come to work out, but many young people just tell me to try again tomorrow. Now, I've given up on scanning my phone, relying on my phone number to verify my identity. But this evening, Rion patiently helped me create a QR code on my phone. He was a truly wonderful young man. He's a must-have for 24 Hours Fitness.

I was not allowed to use free pass because I used facility 2 years ago(and had a bad experience.) Instead of telling me that, I was forced to tour the facility and told I cannot use pass and am required to pay(despite having a bad experience previously.) Honestly, so weird and just confirms why I had a bad experience previously. Someone was shaving in the sauna last time and teenagers use the pool to hang out after school. Night seemed calmer but I'll never know.

To give some context I have used this gym for probably almost 7 yrs! But no longer will come here nor my family after this situation. The start of the story is that I was bringing my boyfriend to 24 hr fitness to try and make him switch since we always workout at his. Otherwise I am paying for nothing!

So he signs up for the free promo they are having to use the gym for 3 days. I was like perfect! you can come and maybe if you like it we can upgrade you onto the account or he can get his own. Enter Front Desk Lady on 10/07 @ 4pm......My God..... truly customer service is lost and she is the evidence. Immediately jumps in explaining why we couldn't use a free pass because his ID was was not in "Castle pines or Castle rock". Her tone was full of attitude and in general came off as snobbish (another word comes to mind but shouldn't use). Anyway This was all a newsflash for me since my whole family is in Larkspur sadly they had to cancel. Tragic! I let them know only castle rock or castle pine residents allowed :O
My thoughts afterwards is that
First of all it isn't that serious. Second of all he has a military ID which does not have his current location and if we would have know that then we wouldn't have tried to get him a free pass ( True deviants of society). However she was incapable of listening to him explain that we do actually live in castle rock! God forbid we use a free pass to see if he likes the gym! Is that not the point of your promo?

In all seriousness though I didn't mind paying 10 $ to get the buddy pass on my membership, but then I had the self-realization (while she was going on and on) the LAST thing I want to deal with after getting off of work is paying for a gym with some snobby, rude front desk lady. Good riddance.

I’m leaving this negative review unfortunately because the customer service at this location was very disappointing. Online, 24 Hour Fitness advertises a free 3-day trial so potential members can try out the gym before joining.

I’ve never had a membership with 24 Hour Fitness on my own, though I have used a friend’s guest pass in the past to visit other locations. I was honest about that and explained that I’ve been a regular gym-goer for years, so I didn’t need a tour or help learning the machines.

However, I was told the promotion only applies to people who have never visited any 24 Hour Fitness, which was not clearly stated online. When I tried to clarify, the general manager, McKenzie, was dismissive and lacked the professionalism and patience needed to resolve the issue respectfully.

It’s unfortunate because other 24 Hour Fitness locations I’ve been to have had a wide variety of equipment and great service. This location is close to my home and would have been convenient, but after seeing other reviews mentioning similar issues with this same manager, it may be wise for upper management to take a closer look at how this location is being run.

(2023 review) Been a member of 24 for over 20 years. This gym is ok. Bummer they opted for no raquet ball courts.

Wish they vented the chlorine gas smell from the pool so you could breathe while you swim.

Staff is hit and miss but, it's 2023.

(2025 Update) This place is a biohazard, no exaturation. It's the dirtiest, smelliest gym I think I have ever been in. Honestly, it smells like a combo of bad breath, sweat, and a dirty crotch. And, it's always hot as hell in there too. No AC, no airflow??

Proof of biohazard: the other day my daughter went and worked out there. Within 48 hours, she was terribly sick. Turns out she had THREE different bacterial infections. 100% caused by 24 hour fitness. Lesson learned - Purel yourself before leaving, then wash your hands, then again when you get home.

I hate to leave this review but I care about my fellow gym members and community too much. I went to management to show them that the seated leg curl machine is about to break because they have been using a pin that was not designed for the machine. They addressed it right away and put a broken sign on the machine. The staff member also said yeah that’s unsafe and we need to order a new part. I came in the next week and the machine was being used and nothing has been changed or fixed.
On the photos I will post you can see that the metal is so thin and about to break through. Unfortunately this will break and someone will get hurt, I hope not though. Lifetime fitness can’t come soon enough.

One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. Save yourself the headache - there are plenty of gyms that treat their members better and actually work with you when you move.

I moved out of the state in June and asked to cancel my membership back in May. I was told I had a commitment through November and would just need to pay out that commitment—which I accepted. I haven’t been in a 24 Hour Fitness since moving because there isn’t one near me.
Despite that, I was charged the annual fee in September. When I called to resolve it, I was passed to the General Manager, McKenzie. After a 15-minute conversation she essentially told me there were zero options. No ability to prorate the annual fee even though my membership ends in November. No ability to transfer the remaining time to my dad, who still lives nearby and could have used it. Nothing.
If the GM can’t help with something as simple as a prorate or transfer, what’s the point of having one? I left that call feeling completely unheard and stuck paying for a service I can’t even use.

***cancellation warning***I’ve been a member just about every gym over the last 20 years and I’m aware of stipulations with membership policies and diffuculty canceling . I was very clear when I signed up a year ago about auto renewals and wanting to pay for a full year upfront as I have a home gym and anticipated limited use of 24 hour fitness anyway. I went to the website, a couple weeks before my membership expired to make sure it wasn’t auto renew everything on the app and the desktop website looked good. I made sure I didn’t get any emails about auto renewal and I honestly just took their word for it more than anything. I was just charged $251 on a supposed auto renewal even though my current account doesn’t look active on my app or my website login the sales manager was extremely rude. Told me there was nothing they could do. The charge was less than a week ago as a simple courtesy you think they would honor that time window regardless and they’re making it almost impossible to make sure it doesn’t happen again it’s a scam to try and cancel which I was aware of going in and tried to void and still couldn’t avoid it. Very bad customer service. Strongly encourage anyone who has a concern to get something in writing from a manager in person so that you can dispute the charge when it inevitably happens. This is how they make their money.

I’ve been a member for a little over a year now and these are some of the things I can tell you from my experience.

Let’s start with the pros:

- The staff is friendly and greets you most of the time at the front desk.

- There is a lot of equipment so you can get a good workout in even if some of the machines are broken. There are always alternatives, even if they’re not the ones I want to use.

Here’s some of the cons:

- The cleanliness of the place is bad. I got athletes foot from the walking around in the steam room and the locker room. They say that they clean the steam room every day, but I highly doubt this because there is literally mold growing in it, and on top of that, it stinks. I don’t think they ever clean the machines at the gym either. I got really sick one time because I forgot to wash my hands before eating, and I attribute working out beforehand to the illness.

- The machines are always broken and they’re lazy about fixing them. About a week ago, almost half of the machines in the gym were broken. On top of that, the right lay pulldown machine was lazily fixed, as a taller dude I want to ensure that I can maintain a stretch while on the machine.

- And what’s going on in the sauna right now? The saunas wood looks to be degrading since it looks like they’ve never replaced it.

- The name 24 hour fitness is a little bit misleading. I want them to be open 24 hours a day. I got yelled at a couple of time for lifting at 9 because apparently they close that early. If it’s open until at least 11 every day, this review would be 3 stars.

Unprofessional and rude. (Jenna) the heavyset blonde cashier was very rude most every time I come in. The management don’t seem to ever care and keep employees like this on their payroll. Not only is she overly flirtatious with employees and guest but she simply does not know how to do her job. Just scan people in and say hello, it’s not that hard. The gym is gross and they con you into memberships with secret fees and then play the I don’t know card when confronted. This places needs new staff.

They fired one manager who was angry all the time, only to bring in a new one who’s nicer, and does a better job of lying about things being cleaner under her watch.

This place is a joke. The manager Mackenzie is one of the most incompetent managers I have ever met in my life. She was the individual who signed me and my wife up for our membership. My wife and I decided to get 4 training sessions to help me get back on my feet since I had recently been injured. She offered us 4, 8, and 12 training sessions. We said we just want 4 training sessions of one month as we couldn’t afford to do more before our wedding. Then come one month in me and my trainer have had several discussions at this point (nothing directed at him he was the only redeeming quality in this hellscape) we get charged another 299$ for the training 15$ for a late fee (which it’s auto drafted so how is it late) and our normal 31.99$ for the month. I go down to the club with my wife to resolve the issue on Sunday. The woman behind the desk proceeds to tell us that nobody there can do anything. So we asked where the manager was and who was the manager on call (thinking this place was actually ran by competent people at this point) reluctant she called Mackenzie. Who proceeds to tell her there is nothing she can do from home and she would take care of it the next day. This part was later spun by Mackenzie saying we forced her employee to call her. We had been nothing but polite to the person behind the counter at this point. So we then leave to return the next day expecting to find Mackenzie and shocker she wasn't there. We are then told not by one but multiple staff members that she was at another site and had to be there. This was later discovered to be a lie when Mackenzie herself said she didn’t even come in on Monday. She then interpreted us coming in and calling at this point to be “10” times when it was only 4 between the two days. She states we have been blowing up there phone and have called in more then ten times. This is a huge lie and over exaggerated by staff if even said at all. She then proceeds to throw her tantrum when called out for being a scam (in my opinion). Finally after getting her to say something to corporate I find out now she has thrown her 2nd tantrum to my wife. She proceeds to call my wife not even greeting or hello but goes straight into yelling at her. Telling her that we don’t communicate (sorry we have real jobs and can’t just chat all day). Then proceeds to start in about the comments that were left about her from us to her corporate office. Saying she dosent appreciate the comments about dodging the situation as a clap back to my wife who simply said she didn’t appreciate Mackenzie yelling and her tone. This woman has personally made us feel unwelcome in this club and with her and her staff ridiculing us behind our backs with gossip. This woman shouldn’t run a Dennys let alone a health facility. We have blocked the fraudulent transactions. The only thing this woman did was refund a 15$ late fee. We are on auto draft…… so? How did that happen? Avoid this place at all costs.

Update - she has now used the information we provided to sign up for our membership to view & follow my wife for outside of 24 hour fitness reasons. There is no reason at all that my wife should be finding on her personal business LinkedIn that Mackenzie is viewing her profile. The fact you think it is ok to use that information to propel your delusions is disgusting.

Well come to find out signing the contract doesn’t lock in your price the annual fee does that they charge 2 weeks later… we’re so happy we’re on the waitlist for LifeTime Fitness opening in Castle Pines in 2026 and can be done with 24hour!

I hate writing reviews, but as a customer of a cooperation I was really disappointed with their service to customers.
I tried three times to cancel my membership and had called to do it over the phone. Four months later I find out I'm still being charged. I have to call three different times to get to the manager who can actually help me and she's very short with me, borderline rude. Talking over me and trying to gaslight me and tell me I never canceled my membership and can't get my money back. All I asked is that the mistake be rectified, I had proof of the calls and that I moved away from any 24hour fitness and could not use their services. A multi-million dollar company who can't honor their employees mistake? $200 is nothing to you and everything to me. You should be ashamed. Don't bother with a membership here if you can't be on their butts about canceling it when you're done.

The free pass is misleading. I got a web confirmation code for a 3-day free pass. I drove across town, but was told I can’t use the pass because I don’t plan to stay in town. When I signed up for the pass, there was no language about how this pass might not actually work. Then the front desk person tried to sell me a 3-day pass for $30. I think it is intentionally vague so that you will buy a pass after making plans to workout. Whether you’re looking for a long-term gym or trying the free pass, I recommend finding an alternative that values honesty.

I am beyond frustrated and disappointed with the consistent failure of 24 Hour Fitness in Castle Rock to open on time at 5 AM, as advertised. This is not a one-time issue but a recurring problem that has happened multiple times, and it’s completely unacceptable for a gym that claims to prioritize its members’ fitness and convenience.
This morning, yet again, I arrived at 5 AM, along with dozens of other dedicated members—up to 50 of us—only to find the doors locked and no staff in sight. We were left standing outside in the cold, waiting for the gym to open, wasting valuable time that we’ve carved out of our busy schedules to prioritize our health. Many of us have demanding jobs and tight morning routines, and this gym’s inability to open on time disrupts our entire day. It’s not just an inconvenience; it’s a blatant disregard for your paying customers’ time and commitment.
As a gym called “24 Hour Fitness,” you’d expect reliability and accessibility to be at the core of the business. Instead, this location repeatedly fails to deliver on its promise. The staff’s lack of accountability and failure to address this ongoing issue is infuriating. When you have a crowd of 50 people waiting outside, it’s clear this isn’t a minor oversight—it’s a systemic failure in management and operations.
I strongly urge the management at 24 Hour Fitness Castle Rock to take immediate action to ensure the gym opens on time every single day. Hire reliable staff, implement better oversight, or do whatever it takes to fix this issue. Your members deserve better than being left stranded outside while trying to stick to their fitness goals. Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend this gym to anyone and will be reconsidering my membership. This level of service is simply unacceptable.

Joining 24-Hour Fitness was a good idea, but getting a trainer was the BEST idea! I have worked with Tommy Beck for just over two months and it’s been one of the best experiences I’ve had with regard to getting healthy. Not only does he push me to get better and stronger every session, but he’s very mindful of making sure I’m taking care of previous injuries, helping with grip strength, and keeping me motivated to work out on my own. Tommy is the best and I would recommend him to anyone looking for support while getting stronger and healthier.

The quality of this facility has declined significantly in the last 5 years. About once a week it does not open on time, equipment is frequently out of order, and the facility is disgustingly dirty and it’s malodorous. There will be several employees standing at the front desk talking, while the place is in disarray. There’s potential here, but the decline is disappointing. I’ve submitted reviews directly to 24 in the past and specifically asked for phone calls from management to provide face to face verbal input for areas of improvement, and to provide constructive feedback- but never heard back. A gentlemen signed me up for a membership plan as a walk-in customer at the front desk. Took about 5 minutes, he gave me my monthly price, then tried to sell me on his training services. A couple weeks later, an annual fee hits my credit card. The gentlemen never mentioned any annual fee nor provided me with any documentation that I’d owe this fee. When I called to discuss this with the manager, she let me know that normally their staff are trained to let new members know about all the fees they will pay up front, but that I was paired with an untrained team member who is not knowledgeable on issuing new memberships. After many days of calling the store, the manager and General Manager were unable to refund the annual fee, despite admitting that they let an untrained team member sell me the membership, and that person missed part of their responsibilities when doing so. I cancelled my membership immediately.

Aside from the poor customer service and untrained staff, the gym is pretty gross to be honest. I’ll be headed to the CR rec center from now on, hoping to find some better customer service.

The complaints where they state that the entire gym is not clean are correct. I noticed after the previous review on this place demonstrating the issues that there were several positive reviews done to overlap the negative reviews. It is so bad at this location that the health department should come and take a look. Skip this gym. Sadly, I have to workout at home until they fix their issues. The girl that said this place text bombs you and calls you repeatedly....not lying. I have 11 voicemails from different people after visiting once. It was insane. Isnt that against the law after telling them to take you off their calling list? Anyways, look the other way when seeing the positive reviews as no one would think that this place is a great place to workout. Take a look at the dates. They were all within the same exact day. The equipment is old and some have rust on them, the bathrooms are so dirty the floors are sticky, the showers do not properly work, the sauna is nasty and the hot tub should be looked at by the health department.

Honestly, this gym is gross. The equipment is often broken or out of order, the bathrooms are often out of paper towels and the toilets are often disgusting and clogged. The pool and sauna are filthy. They are frequently out of spray and paper towels to wipe down the equipment. The water out of the drinking fountain to fill up bottles is warm and the filter needs changing. Always. This gym is overcrowded at literally ALL times, and it smells bad. Always.

I also have a huge issue with their guest pass process. They advertise a free 3-day pass to guests online, but once they get to the front desk they let them know they have to be local in order to qualify. If they’re not local- it’s $30 for a 3-day pass. Would have been nice for them to say that online, so we weren’t turned away with our friend from out of town when we came to work out. Then- they email and text bombed our friend to get them to sign up. They do not offer a single day pass for guests to purchase — nope! You need to upgrade your monthly membership cost to be able to bring guests. Ridiculous.

I’ve never left a Google review before, but my disappointment in this gym experience prompted me to leave my first one. The only reason I come here is because there’s not much choice of gyms in castle rock.

As someone who travels all over the US for work, I am frequently in gyms all across the country. This gym has to be one of the worst gyms I have been to. A lot of the equipment was not working and it was extremely smelly and dirty! There was a large pool of sweat in the sauna that looked like motor oil. I would not recommend this gym to anyone! I also went early at 5am one day and nobody came to open the gym up. About 30 of us were waiting outside. Find another gym, the employees don't keep this place clean.

I’ve been going to the 24 Hour Fitness in Castle Rock for a while now, and I’ve had a consistently great experience. The facility is clean, spacious, and well-organized, with a solid variety of equipment—from free weights and machines to cardio gear and functional training space. I never have to wait long, even during peak hours, which is a huge plus.
The staff is friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Whether it’s a quick question or needing help with a machine, they’re approachable and knowledgeable. The gym also has a welcoming atmosphere—no judgment, just people trying to reach their fitness goals. I also appreciate the variety of group classes and how the space is kept tidy and stocked with cleaning supplies.
