Update: gym is permanently closed

Updated.
For now they gym is back to normal

Updated. The local high school coach apparently purchased every student at the school a gym pass. Now the gym is just packed with high school students who just hand out. Bags and other items are constantly left around equipment. If you get a machine or bench don't leave it. If you do it will be swarmed by kids. I couldn't even use the back room because kids where fencing, like with swords. The whole gym now has a the vibe of highschool.

Ben and Morgan are fantastic. The gym is really clean and everyone is always friendly

The layout is ridiculous, half the gym being treadmills that no one uses while the free weight section is so crammed I don't even know where to stand half the time. The maintenance is lacking and the wipes to clean the machines are usually gone. The people are also cringy and I've never seen so many grunters and weight throwers in my life. Especially the group of teenagers that come in and ruin my experience seemingly every time I'm here. I'm leaving this gym quickly.

I was quite reluctant to try out personal training sessions, but as someone who is new to the gym scene, I thought it would be best to do to ensure I am learning the right way. So I did, and my time with Dre as a personal trainer has been indispensable to my fitness progress. I've learned a lot from him and I really appreciate the energy he brings to our sessions.

I had been a longstanding member of Prestige Fitness…and then it closed! I was referred to Crunch and came on over to give its try. I had been working with a trainer at Prestige and I was anxious to meet my new one at Crunch. Blake Jakope has surpassed my hopes and expectations. He plans appropriate exercises to increase my strength and mobility. Blake is thoughtful and fun to work with! I am 79 and move very well as a result of my training. My physicians say to me, “Don’t stop working out!” I don’t plan to!!

This gym has provided such an amazing environment to workout in! I love the people and the trainers. Dre has been very helpful in teaching me proper form, etc. His training sessions have definitely prepared me for college athletics. He is very personable and kind. The gym is clean and kept organized.

I've been a long time member and have had the opportunity to work directly with Blake as a trainer. He's the best! So knowledgeable and very understanding of everything I was dealing with in my fitness journey. He has a way of pushing you without forcing you out of your comfort zone. I would recommend him to anyone!!

I have been going to Crunch in Greenwood Village for over a year. When I first started I was always dealing with back pain. I have been working with trainer Blake and he has been able to help rehab my back where I can now live life without pain everyday. I highly recommend you training with Blake.

I have never been to this gym, never signed up for this gym, and they have charged me over $240 since February 2023. I think when my old gym went out of business they sold my bank account info to this gym and they just started billing me random amounts, from $142.98 to $3 at random times. I've called and received no callback, and sent about 10 emails to the addresses on the website. Very shady and likely criminally fraudulent. I would never do business with this shady company if I were you.

Attention Closing!!!! Aurora location.
After years of being loyal customers, crunch has decided to close this location with not proper notice.
Over the last couple years, they have let this place fall apart and completely forgot about it.
Management particularly Raul are trash and need to be fired.
At the same time, they handed our contract over to another gym also without proper notice.
This is a failing company. Be prepared the location is next.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Do not go to this gym. I moved to Colorado for 3 months for school. I went into Crunch on 8525 E Arapahoe Rd, Greenwood Village, and spoke to manager named Nick. Nick GUARANTEED me a membership that would be cancelled within 3 months and that my last charge would be in August 2022. He also "DID ME THE FAVOR" of only charging me $1 to sign up, and I would be charged $21.99 a month until August 2022 and I would not have to worry about it. I have been back in California since August and have not only been getting charged $21.99 a month every single month, but was also charged an annual fee on July 5 for $49.99 which WAS NOT ONCE mentioned to me at all. I called the gym a total of 21 times since December. All of the calls which I was told a manager would call me back. NOT ONCE did a manager call me back, but I continued to call. I have spoken to Patrick and Raul only because I called and they answered. I called in one day 8 times and a girl answered and asked me to call back in 5 minutes. I said okay, and called back and no one answered. I called later that night and FINALLY got a hold of someone. I was told my account was cancelled in December, but received another $21.99 out of my account on January 3, 2023. I called, yet again, and finally got a hold of Raul who says, "it's cancelled now for sure so there shouldn't be any more charges." Makes zero sense. I explained that I shouldn't have been getting charged at all since August, explained my situation, and Raul told me he would place a dispute in for me but from there he can't really do anything about it because "we get calls like this all the time and Nick no longer works here." Raul said he would call me back the next day, never did. I called back, Patrick answered and said my refund had been approved for $80, but the gym still owes me another $80 for the January charge and the annual fee that no one told me about. I called back again, but there is no manager in and was told I would get a call back today which hasn't happened, again. Reported to the BBB, and filed a complaint, but this gym never responded to them either. Ridiculously unprofessional, and have yet to receive my partial refund.

This location has turned into a nasty highschool weight room. There literally an older male holding weight trainings here with like 15 boys taking over every beach and squat rack at the busiest time of time of day. The high school boys are rude and I’ve seen them recording girls while doing squats and the workers doing nothing about it. 100% would choose a different gym, this place has majorly gone down hill.

Old GM lied to me. Told me he would transfer my membership from my gym in MA since I moved to CO and was informed by an employee that crunch doesn’t have the liberty of doing this at all. So i have been double charged for a few months until i had to call my old gym to cancel (and pay a cancellation fee).

Other than the old GM lying to customers, the gym is great! Good riddance to that dude

Please don't go here. They rip you off. At first they go like it's $1 to join and later they be like it's $20 per month and later they go like its $30. I and my friend joined for the competition when they was doing promo they was like it's $150 with diet exercise and all. But they don't have any nutritionist they ask you what you eat and be like now you need to make these calories with same food not sure how is that possible. The promo guy Austin said it would be 2 months and the charge will be $150 for a person for both these month but later they started charging us same amount every month. When talked to Austin he goes like no this was what it was communicated and when asked for refund they've been pushing here and there. The manager of the gym Nic he is never available. We've went there on October to cancel our membership but till today they've been charging us. They haven't yet removed us from membership.if anyone can help

If it were possible to give 0 stars I would. Not only are there only 2 squat racks and 500 treadmills, no other gym goers here have any gym etiquette whatsoever. It’s disgusting. Additionally the staff is quite unprofessional. One trainer would always approach me while I was in the middle of my sets and while my headphones were on to chat. It creeped me out. He also asked me to workout with him and not in a professional manner.

I switched to this Crunch location from a different one and was told by the staff here that my account would transfer to the Greenwood Village location. That was not the case as I had to drive back and forth to the Boulder location to cancel my account because the staff is incompetent and doesn’t know their policies.

In August, I finally went in to cancel my membership that I was bullied into keeping. When I told the manager, Nick, that I had come in to cancel, he was very offended and it was quite unprofessional. I didn’t tell him the multitude of reasons I was leaving because I wanted to avoid more drama, but here I am in November and my account still isn’t cancelled. My card was charged on November 14th and I went in at the end of AUGUST to cancel. I’ve called 5 times now and emailed Nick twice and have still gotten no response. WORST GYM EVER AND WORDT BUSINESS EVER

If you want a gym that truly makes you feel terrible about yourself, this is the place to go. Ben, Alec, and Blake are great, but the other staff has a special way of making you feel wildly uncomfortable. Explained to David(front desk) the situation and he was more than willing to accommodate me and let me work out at this facility. While I was leaving he asked how my workout was and what I thought about this facility.
Clean, newer machines, and all the sanitize stations were full of wipes.
Not only did the facility live up to my standards but David was so helpful and caring.

I was excited to join Crunch after meeting Ben, btw many of my neighbors love this gym. However, I was told I would have 7 days to try Crunch but after a conversation with “the BOSS Nick” I was told I could only workout one day.
I was also advised that their $14.99 membership advertised on the website is eliminated. Legally this is a bait and switch. I would avoid this gym. There are so many other options and I would pay $2,000 a year for a gym that I love.

SCAM ALERT!! Raul pressured me to sign up. I paid for personal training and was told my sessions would be a full hour. Upon arriving to my first session, I was told my sessions were actually half an hour. I asked for a full refund and did not attend any more sessions. I called them 2-3 times a week for 2 months asking for a refund and they would say something different every time i called. The manager Jacob did not want to resolve my concern. Sometimes they would say a check was being sent out, other times they said corporate needs to issue a check and they can’t reach corporate… Almost a full year later and I’m still waiting for my refund for a gym i didn’t use. I even had a crunch fitness in Michigan try to help me get a refund and they were baffled by the way the employees at Greenwood Village spoke to them. Nothing they said made sense. Since they are an independently owned franchise, Michigan crunch or any other place was able to do anything for me. If i could give a zero star rating, I would. I never leave reviews but I have to- YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Take your money and business elsewhere

Ben Crane has put together an amazing team. The trainers cover all bases Paul, Karen, Morgan D. and Austin are great with power lifting and Olympic lifting. Tyler and Blake are great with athletes, preformance, and corrective exercise. Morgan S , Deanna, and Cassidy are great with weight-loss. Jerome is the class master. I stopped working in this area two years ago. I lived downtown at the time and continuing a membership here was not sustainable. The GM at the time was never around and when she was there, was focused on anything other than her job. The turnover rate of the staff was pretty high and the letter I left for the GM saying I wished to cancel my membership was “lost.” Crunch Fitness has been stealing money from me for two years and now that they no longer have access to my bank account, they have become a predatory entity. I joined this gym and was so excited to be a part of it. I even agreed to the 3 months of personal training just to try it out as I had never had a personal trainer. 2 months in I had some pretty extreme health issues and my coach put my training on pause until we got some answers regarding my health concerns. My coach was great and I absolutely loved her. However she unfortunately got a great offer and left the gym. Fast forward 3 months, I get charged for another month of personal training (at $300 a month). I called and asked some questions being I hadn’t even used my last month of training that I paid for. I explained that to Ben and was extremely frustrated when I was told being put on pause only lasts 3 months and then it automatically resumed charging me. I explained to him that that would have been super helpful to know as I would have canceled it long ago and that I still hadn’t even used the visits I had already paid for. He said there was nothing he could do except let me use me sessions. I asked if there was anyway I could just get it refunded as I can’t use them and we might be moving before I even could. Nope. No help there. THEN he tried to sell me and my boyfriend on buying more! This place will nickel and dime you and (outside of my coach) they remind me of slimy car salesmen who tip toe around major details just to get a buck.

I'm writing this review to warn people of this places bad business practices. I was told to send an email to the manager to cancel my account and they never did. So they charged me for two months. Two months later I'm still trying to get my money back. The managers don't seem to know anything, and the regional manager is jumping through hoops to not return my money. Promises of calls never happen and when a manager is not in the building for days none of the employees know why. I have been lied to constantly by these individuals and I still have not got reimbursed for charges that were wrong. This place will still your money no matter the amount. The company must not be doing too well if they need to go through these lengths to steal money from customers. I am writing this review to warn others about one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with! Crunch fitness is the most aggressive and disorganized at taking people's money. I went in and spoke to Jacob the general manager over 4 times now and crunch is still tring to take my money!!! Then they say that a company ABC financial handles all the payments. They do this to simply defer all financial responsibility. Furthermore the individual club and Jacob have no power or authority to handle the situation! This creates a payment feedback loop where they just try to keep or in some cases keep taking you money! I have actually spoken to an attorney about a class action lawsuit against Crunch fitness. Others who have experienced similar please contact me so we can build the "class". If you value your money and your sanity stay away from Crunch at all costs!
The photo is just the times they tried to take my money after I spoke with Jacob twice! All this is on top of many other financial issues and me deciding to give them a second chance. I have everything documented and phone records of them saying they send people to Collection after only 1 week.

The second picture is Crunch Fitness violating the fair debt collections law and telling me they were going to send me to collections when I did not even have a membership!!!

I tried to talk to manager on several occasion about my transfer request. But I never got a phone call back from the manager. I talked to about four different workers and they said they would pass along my name to the manager. But I never recieved a phone call. I got charged the annual and monthly fee from the gym that I am not going to. Bad manager, give me my money back.

If I could give negative stars I would. I spent a good thirty minutes being sold on a $1, $0 enrollment for the first month membership with one guy only to be pawned off on the GM, Chelsea, who said that the promotion could only be honored at their Aurora location. Then she tried to charge me $44 and get my checking account number. All of this happened after I came in trying to use a Groupon! The sleezy sales guy told me the promotion was better and that I should exchange my Groupon. I happily walked out after the GM was rude and completely dismissed the promo her employee told me about for literally 30 minutes. They are shady, lying, manipulative sales people that will never get my money. After reading other reviews they have pulled other tricks on people and they don’t deserve your money either! I’ll find a gym with people I can trust.

Save yourself a lot of stress and hassle and join a gym with staff that has integrity and work ethic. We all have busy jobs and Covid has made a lot of jobs, especially in salaried management, harder. But that doesn't provide an opportunity or excuse to be unresponsive and complacent.

I joined Crunch as a temporary (VERY temporary, 3 weeks-2 months) resident of Denver. I was assured that cancellation would be easy and seamless and that annual fees weren't due until October.

Come middle September, I call and call and call to figure out the cancellation process and continue getting a "User Busy" signal. I finally email a generic "[email protected]" style email days later because I simply cannot get through.

No response. Call again days later, "the manager will call me back". No call back.

Call again a day later, the manager will call me back but cannot give me any inclination as to when.

I'm 30+ calls (answered and unanswered) in and I've been charged the annual fee and another month I can't use because of the lack of ownership within this store. There's a 10 day window for cancellations within your billing cycle, toted as the necessary time to process an ACH payment. Which is complete and total BS. And guess what? Because I could NEVER get through, my email out of desperation became the benchmark for my cancellation putting me within that window for both the annual fee and monthly.

I joined Crunch in late July. Cancelled in middle September and I paid a $50 annual fee to a gym I was apart of for under 2 months. Ridiculous.

And getting ahold of anyone in the corporate office is a joke. I've had a complaint ticket in for a week with no response. The General Manager, Chelsea, told me she would put me in contact with the district manager. That took 1 phone call and 2 emails to get that information. I've emailed the district. Anyone wanna take a stab as to whether I've been emailed back? Yeah, that's a no.

As a side note, I am almost impressed with their recruitment process. How they manage to hire such awful management and staff consistently is actually a skill. Read the reviews, don't sign up.

Team,
I am writing this mail from Denver CO where I am a member for crunch fitness located in the Greenwood Village branch...In the month of August 2019... I paid 500$ for personal training for my wife... that time luis is the manager for that location.. So Luis mentioned in words that if we pay 500$ for personal training he can offer 10 sessions from a Personal trainer and 2 sessions from him... each session for 1 hour.. However when my wife started her training The personal trainer used to give training for 30 minutes and he told my wife in that way she can get more sessions... because my visa issues we had to travel back to India by dec 2019... by the time we left the USA.. My wife had 8 sessions of 30 minutes which is 4 hours. Before leaving I reached luis to cancel my wife personal training subscription and he agreed that he will send me a mail but I never got a mail... even I send my friend to speak luis and try to cancel and refund the money back... even than he said he will do it and send me a mail, which never happen.. Again in the month of March 2020, I came to Denver and tried to reach crunch fitness because of Covid... everything got locked down... so in the month July... I went to crunch fitness located in Greenwood Village and tried to explain my issue with my current manager, I came to know that Luis Along with My personal trainer are no more working here and they didn’t even left any message in my account comment section... So I told everything to the current manager about the situation and she said she can give the leftover 8 session and she also told either me or my wife to take it... after a month which is today( 15th sept) when I went to confirm the same ... I see the new manager over there and she starts saying she is from corporate and she can’t give me 8 session instead she can give only 3 session as the old manager mentioned in the computer that I took 8 (one hour) sessions.. though I tried to explain to her and even I told her I can get mail from a personal trainer that he gave only 30 minutes each session... she started arguing with me and behaved rudely. when she asked her how could we know what trainer or your manager mentioned in their computer, she started saying go and ask them... is it right to answer... this is how you people treat your customers... All I am asking is to provide my 8 session need to be provided for which I paid money... you guys recruited luis or trainer and they promised us and I guess it’s your responsibility to take it...Please

Very small gym. Definitely not enough space between individuals to work out safely. Always out of cleaning wipes but paper towels and bottles sitting out instead of their respective places. Enforcement of masks for certain individuals yet the buddies of the establishment get to roam free without their mask. Also if you decide to go month-to-month you will be charged $188.86 (with no reference up front) within two months for "fees" plus two months of working out. Better gym options out there if you value your health and your money.

This gym is ROTTEN, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! I froze my account due to the gym being closed for Covid 19, without any notice they unfreeze the account and start charging again. I noticed that a similar complaint was voiced recently, and they responded with the answer “check your spam folder” because they did send a re-opening email. Well I checked my spam folder and no email was sent to me from Crunch Fitness announcing its re-opening.

I tried to go online to access my account, log-in doesn't work. I tried to call the gym, busy signal. I finally emailed their account services and after a week they respond back saying they will refreeze my account, but I received no response about a refund…nothing just I’ll ignore that part of the question. It’s a joke and it looks like they have been doing this to EVERYONE…again do yourself a favor and avoid this headache. This gym is simply making a dash for cash before they go belly up.

Avoid at any cost! I should have looked at reviews before signing up for the membership. I was told that it's month to month, and cancellation is a piece of cake. I cancelled on Jan 9th. It took the main website 7 days of pushing me around, and asking me to email this or that to finally get a response on Jan 16th that it has been cancelled.
Fast forward to Feb 4th, I got charged. I contested with my bank since I figured it might be an error. Nope!
On Feb 16th, I got charged $24.95. Nobody can tell me how to really cancel my membership. Nobody will give me my money back.
I told them that I will keep contesting the charge, and they can keep trying to charge. What a PITA!
If I could give less than 1 stars, I would.
They said they are better than 24 hour fitness and VASA. At the end of the day, they are all the same.
Joining is easy, but leaving is a pain.
Stay away! Do not fall for their BS marketing.

Avoid. Like so many others I had billing issues. I wanted to cancel originally because of a issue with a personal trainer who was always there. The manager, Luis, said he would comp two months membership if I stayed. After accepting the two months of free membership I was STILL CHARGED for the next month. I let Luis know. He said he would be processing the refund “right now”. Weeks go by, no refund. Sent an email to the address given to others who had negative reviews on Google. After two emails, I finally got a response saying that “the team reached out to get an address so we can mail you a check for refunded amount”. Yeah, that never happened. No one reached out to me, I know because I was waiting for a phone call/email for weeks. Hoping to finally resolve this I sent my address with the hopes of receiving the refund in the mail. A week later the refund appeared on my bank account. What a joke. Go to another gym.

As others have said, their billing policies are awful. Charging after cancelation, excess charges, and when I initially signed up they said they "couldn't bill my credit card" and would instead need my bank account information. Know that they do this so you can't dispute the charges or inform your credit card company to stop charges when they start billing you excessively.

The staff is generally terrible, but the worst of them are the trainers. Holier-than-thou attitudes abound, and they walk around like they own the place; more than once I've had a rude or uncomfortable encounter with them.

I’ve been talking to Louis the manager and he’s been nice but still hasn’t resolved my issue. The gym itself is alright for the price. A bit over crowded at peak hours. They earn their one star review for their policies. Just like most gyms they have nice and shady billing policies to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. Im moving so I asked to cancel my membership a month ahead of time. The gentleman at the counter said he couldnt and that I needed a manger so Id have to come back. He said he put a note on my account saying I wanted to cancel. A few weeks pass by and I try again. This time they say "sorry its less than 10 days before the next billing cycle so youre going to be billed for next month as well". When I complained the lady said "sorry theres nothing I can do"....I hear that too often at this place.

Advice to management: Set an example for the gym industry and maybe you'll come out on top. Empower your employees to be able to adjust memberships. Is an extra ten bucks worth a bad review and losing a customer for life?

There are so many gyms to choose from in Denver. Save your money and frustrations and go elsewhere. The GM Luis is terrible. He doesn’t know how to communicate with customers or answer any questions about the contract, and is not very friendly. I’ve asked multiple times for the contract to be emailed to me. Was told they couldn’t do that, which makes no sense to me. They don’t replace stolen equipment and takes a long time to fix broken equipment, the music is terrible (which I know that one can be a personal opinion, but when everyone in the locker room says the same thing, must not just be me). Even if you pay for a personal trainer, you get kicked out of the main track area for a group class (while some are very nice about asking us to move or allows us to share the space (Mike), many are not, and just want you out of the area). Why don’t they have that in the designated class area in the back? I’ve gone to the gym both in the early morning and late afternoon, and it’s definitely a different atmosphere. Mornings are definitely better! Beware of the processing fee and annual fee they add on when you sign the contract. They don’t really talk about it, but they definitely add it when charging you. I saw it in the fine print and had to ask them about it before signing. As with any contract you sign, pay attention and read everything!

I did that and the very next moth they again tried to charge me $140 again luckily I asked my bank to block all transactions from crunch and it dint go through. Don’t believe a word they say . I am kicking myself for NOT reading the reviews before I joined. There is a consistent pattern here. This place seems to promote a culture of lies, false promises and deception before you sign the contract and total indifference and disregard after. I joined the gym back (early 2018, I was lied to that I can cancel anytime the first time around, but I excused it as one representative overly eager to get me signed up and went through the contract for 1 year) because of the location, great facilities and equipment. When I spoke to the manager Luis about my scanner, he offered me a deal of getting 6 extra months free if I paid the total amount upfront. I already had a contract and I told him that. He lied that he will make sure that the current contract will get cancelled and the new one will take effect. I trusted him and went ahead and signed the new contract. The next day he sent me an agreement by email that had only a ONE YEAR membership instead of the extra 6 months. I replied to him that the dates were not correct and also asked him about cancelling my old contract. He still maintained that he will take care of it and is waiting for approval from his DM (whoever that is). One month on, I got the previous contract’s monthly amount deducted and my new contract’s FULL amount was already deducted. I’m stuck with 2 contracts and no resolution in sight.

Bottomline, DO NOT believe these people’s words. They lie with a straight face and once you’ve signed a contract, they’re gone. It’s been more than 2 months and I have not heard anything from either the franchise or the corporate office. What hurt me the most was that the lies were not one-off. It seems to be their culture and that did not change even though managers have.
