I’ve taught and trained at just about every gym in Fort Collins—big box gyms, CrossFit’s boutique gym studios, yoga spaces, and functional training centers—and nothing compares to this community. The programming is smart, tough, and designed to actually make you stronger for real life, not just look good on paper. The coaches bring energy, knowledge, and genuine care every single session. But the real difference here is the people: the most supportive, driven, and welcoming, and fitness community in Fort Collins. Whether you’re brand new to HIIT or an experienced athlete, you’ll find yourself challenged, encouraged, and surrounded by people who want to see you win. Simply the best.

I’ve been going to Manic Training for a year and a half now, and I can’t say enough good things about it! The workouts are always challenging and fun, but what really keeps me coming back is the community. The people here are incredibly supportive, and the accountability I get from both the coaches and fellow members has made such a difference in my consistency and progress. Highly recommend to anyone looking to level up their fitness with a crew that truly has your back!

looking for gym in FoCo? I would 10/10 recommend that you check out the Free Trial at Manic Training. You’ll get a good feel for the culture and instructor lead exercise experience in that first week.

My story: I am a ‘chronically busy’, middle aged mom, with a serious full-time job who enjoys all the various outdoor Colorado activities as hobbies but struggles to stick to my very logical at-home wellness routine. Manic is perfect for me because I really need high external motivation and low mental burden for success. In my first 6months, I have definitely seen positive results. I’m really pleased. Some results are measurable, PR records in all my hobbies, and some are non-measurable - the internal joy I get from completing the physically hard work. My personal fitness goal is simply to live a healthy happy life. Manic understands that philosophy and I’m genuinely so thankful to be here.

My thoughts on the gym: it’s like a group workout setting but with personal instruction. The workouts are easily modifiable depending on your fitness goals/strength/mobility/recovery/ect, just talk to the instructor. Everything in the gym is really clean and organized. Great communication via email & app. Everybody is genuinely nice and they do lots of fun group activities but there’s no pressure if that’s not your thing.
The music is loud.

My pro tip: just wear your normal old gym clothes: sneakers, leggings, T-shirt. Maybe a light long sleeve layer to take off after warm-ups.

Manic is so much more than an incredible gym. It’s a place that lifts you up, pushes you HARD, and reminds you that you’re stronger than you think. The community is real, the support is palpable, and the mindset is simple: do hard things, and grow through them. I’m so grateful to be part of Manic.

If you're looking for a workout that challenges you both physically and mentally, Manic Training is the place to be!

The workouts are tough, and designed to push you out of your comfort zone. No two workouts are the same, so there's always something to look forward to (and dread just a little). You’ll definitely see progress if you stick with it!

The coaches are knowledgeable, motivating and show their personality. They take the time to correct form and offer alternate exercises depending on where you are at in your fitness journey, or if you are injured.

Manic Training Fort Collins isn't just a gym – it’s a community where you’ll get stronger together both physically and mentally. It's a community that genuinely supports each other and has fun. It’s not just about fitness here – it’s about building lasting connections while pushing yourself to new limits.

I’ve been going to Manic for 6 months and while the workouts are challenging I am enjoying the variety! Variety within the workouts and doing a different type of movement that I have in the past. I love the kettlebell’s. There’s a solid community of folks here too.

Manic Training Gym has transformed my life in so many ways. If you're searching for a challenging and fun workout but aren't sure where to begin, I highly recommend Manic Training. The high-intensity and fast-paced workouts keep you engaged from start to finish, so there's no time to get distracted or worry about how long you've been exercising.

On a personal note, the Manic Training community provided incredible financial and emotional support when I was diagnosed with cancer, even though I had only been a member for three months. Fortunately, I managed my treatment well and returned to training after three months. I was welcomed back with open arms and supportive messages. Coach Craig reached out to check on me and sent email updates about my progress. The community even organized an overnight Ruk fitness challenge to raise funds and challenge themselves in solidarity with me.

Manic is a GEM. The workouts are fantastic! I often say it is the most productive hour of my day. The coaching is motivating and I feel cared for. I have lived in this town quite a long time and I have not experienced this type of amazing, connected, authentic, and kind community anywhere else! And that comes directly from the leadership. I have had two hip replacements and a myriad of other fun impediments that would otherwise be challenging in a group training environment. Not here...I keep hitting goals and creating new ones.....Thanks Manic and Craig!

I told myself I'd wait at least three months to write a review for Manic but I knew after the first week that this was a good place for me. Reasons why:

-I am NOT a gym person. Stick me in a regular gym and I will figure out something to make myself look busy for about 30 min and then leave without breaking a sweat. I show up to Manic and do not have to think at all- it is ALL laid out for us and the coaches teach each exercise.

-My passion is trail running. I tricked myself for over a decade into believing I could gain/maintain fitness from running alone but the veil was lifted during my first class at Manic when I realized I couldn't do a legit sit-up. Now three months in, I am starting to be able to keep up with runners in my training group who I used trail pretty far behind.

-Coach Craig sometimes plays bangers from the early 2010s and what better way to kickoff the day than Kesha at 5am?

I believe Manic is an investment in my long-term health. My goal is to still be jogging when I'm 80 (God willing) and if I am, I think I'll be thanking my 30 yr old self for taking this step.

The Manic community and mindset that all embody who are a part of this community is what makes it special! When I was looking for a gym to attend to gain extra strength and work on my imbalances as a runner, I tried out Manic and immediately signed up to continue attending classes. I greatly value being able to have a variety of workouts each week that challenge me both physically and mentally.

The support of the trainers and Craig at each class to assist with exercises and ensure you are performing them correctly is invaluable. I enjoy being able to meet someone new at each class and even when I don’t know someone, others in class quickly welcome you and provide encouragement. I’m grateful for this space and all that it brings to my life!

If you are looking for change in your life mentally and physically this is the place.
I’ve been to many gyms over the years, CrossFit, Orange, running clubs, nothing compares to the full body workout you will get at Manic.
There is no judgement, no mirrors, the culture is to show up and do your best.
The coaches, community, the inspiration is something I’ve been searching for.
I’m humbled to be part of something special like Manic..

I was an over-weight, out of shape, sick and tired of running out of breath while hiking, middle aged dude when I walked past Manic one Saturday morning and decided to walk through the door.

Fast forward 4 months, and I'm now doing 10 reps of exercises I couldn't do 2 reps of when I started. All you need to do to improve is go 30 times in 3 months. It WILL transform you.

Nobody here judges you. Nobody will think you're weak, or that you suck, or that you don't belong. Instead, they'll encourage you, support you, celebrate your wins, and give you the "Great work today" fist bump at the end of every workout.

My t-shirts are getting tighter around the arms and looser around the belly. I don't run out of breath climbing stairs. I feel 1000% better than I did (I am, sadly, still middle aged). This place, and coach Craig changed my life, and will change yours, too. I look forward to going to the workouts. I _enjoy_ being surrounded by these fantastic people.

They. Changed. My. Life.

You just gotta walk through the door. I'm glad I did.

Manic is a great gym! It will push you both mentally and physically. It is a gym built on a family "tribe" mentality, not egos like most gyms. Everyone there, no matter what shape you are in, gets a great workout. Everyone is supportive! This gym will help you succeed both in the gym and help you get through what life throws at you. Thanks Craig keep up the amazing job!

I was very apprehensive about starting at Manic. So much so that I had a 4-year delay between my trial week and joining! I was worried that I would be left behind in the workouts by much younger and stronger athletes. But that is not the case. From day 1, when I could barely lift my arm above my head due to a shoulder injury and didn’t know how to do 90% or the exercises, everyone, coaches and members alike, have been nothing but supportive and inspirational. The coaches display the heart of a teacher and this has helped me learn proper form and build my strength without getting injured. The coaches have also worked with me to help me attain some very lofty goals of becoming a wild land firefighter and back country ranger even though I am over 60 years old. If you are looking for a way to spend the best 60 minutes of your day, give Manic a try. You might be sore, but you won't be disappointed.

I needed a workout routine that would hold me accountable, keep me motivated, and deliver results. Manic does that and so much more. I’ve never lifted weights before, so starting manic was intimidating, but since I’ve started I’ve learned so much about myself mentally and physically. I’ve been going for about 8 months, and i didn’t think I would ever be this fit again, especially after having 2 kids. Craig, the owner, is amazing, and truly cares about every single person that walks through his doors. Manic was one of the best decisions I’ve made! It’s addicting!

After a little more than 2 years of attending Manic Training, I can honestly say I love everything about this gym. It’s the best hour of my day! The community, the atmosphere, the coaches, and the workouts are the best you could find in a gym. Manic is a place to grow your physical and mental strength in a safe and encouraging environment. The functional fitness workouts are fun and challenging, and the hour literally flies by. It is hard to explain how great it feels to not be limited by your fitness. Since attending Manic, I have been inspired and capable to try new and hard things that I would’ve never tried before, and I am a much better person because of it. If you are looking for a gym, look no further.

No matter what your ultimate goal in seeking out a new gym may be, overall fitness and well being is typically the driving factor. At Manic, total body fitness is front line. I spent years in other gyms where I became excessively strong in very specific muscle groups where other areas lacked. With Manic's balanced full body workouts I quickly realized the areas that I had lacked in previously and instantly started seeing overall improvements both in and out of the gym. If you are looking to improve performance and goals in activities outside of the gym no matter what they may be, this is the gym for you. Craig, the owner along with the rest of the coaching staff are all fantastic people who thrive to see every member succeed and achieve their personal goals. You really feel a sense of community and belonging at this gym, no matter what your fitness level may be, which is something lacking from most other gyms I've been to. Don't hesitate to give this gym a try, I did the trial period and after the first class was hooked and ready to sign up.

Simply can't say enough positive about this place!!!

I have never done any kind of training like Manic before. I started after my 63rd birthday, thinking that if I didn’t get serious about my fitness now I never would. I LOVE skiing, hiking and biking and thought I was somewhat fit for my age. HA! I can’t tell you how much fitter I feel after only 3 months of coming 3x/wk. It was hard and intimidating starting a workout regimen like this for me. Your muscles and joints ache, you don’t think you can do it. BUT YOU CAN! You just have to show up and try. What I love most about Manic is the structure, community, and coaching. I’m always given an alternative if I’m struggling with an exercise or if I’m injured. I am not allowed to slack either. I wanted to give a review after only 3 months to let people know that this is a welcoming place. Don’t be intimidated. You will improve. Just stick with it. It is SO worth it! I know that this is a journey I will be on for a long time. Thanks so much to Craig and the folks in the classes for their encouragement and support. I love this place!

I joined manic in january of 2020 and over that time period I had knee surgery. The trainers at manic adapted all of the workouts for my knee issue before and after the surgery and now I am back to 100% of the workouts. I do not think my leg or body would be as far along strength wise as it is now without having had manic workouts at home with me during this pandemic. They go above and beyond to make sure you have the tools you need to have a great workout! And by far the best workouts I've ever done (been a member of almost all fort collins gyms).

Joined the gym in the off season from mountain biking and dirt biking before the snow got good. I thought it was just going to be a way to exercise during the short days, but I was wrong!! Training for a couple months with this gym has transformed my mountain bike riding in a way that years of riding couldn't! Take it from me - I typically get in 100+ days off mountain biking a year and this is a game changer! It will increase your power bursts when climbing and will make you a better rider. 100% can't recommend this type of cross-training enough if you are into action sports like mountain biking, dirt biking, snowmobiling, skiing, etc.

First several workouts are free - come give it a shot and you will be coming back for more!

Where should I start?

By far the best workout and gym I've ever attended (and I've been to a lot!) The workouts are incredible. If you're serious about getting fit, stop wasting time doing straight out cardio and lifting weights like I was. The workouts are a unique combo of strength, agility, core and cardio - three days a week will transform your body and fitness, I can guarantee you that. At 49, I'm truly in the best shape of my life.

The coaches will guide, encourage and motivate you so that you get the most from each workout. They understand the body and how it works.

Lastly, this place was way clean before covid, and now it's even cleaner. If you're looking for a new place to workout that emphasizes distancing, cleanliness and fresh air (they have an open garage door and very high ceiling), look no further.

Highly recommend!

I look forward to my manic workout and never leave disappointed. It’s a different workout every time - always challenging and never boring. It’s a class and there is structure but you make it fit your needs and your goals. You decide if you want to lift heavy or lighter. You decide if you want to move super fast or slow it down. If it’s too challenging the trainers will help you modify. If you want to challenge yourself even more you can do that too. The members are friendly, welcoming and supportive. The trainers want to help you and see you grow and succeed. The owner, Craig, is dedicated to helping his manic tribe make fitness a lifestyle. In addition to making sure his members have a great work out at the gym, Craig always has the manic tribe involved in different challenges like races, obstacle courses, hikes etc. You decide if you want to be involved or not. I was so very wrong. Manic is intense - but in the best way - the workouts are hard! It’s always challenging and always different. The energy in the gym is far from intimidating - it is supportive and positive. I walked in on my first day and everyone was gathered in a circle talking to the instructor - they all turned to welcome me and say hello. I love that I can tailor the workout to me... I have strong areas and weak areas that need work...but I’m not competing with anyone but me. Did I say there are no mirrors - I can’t tell you how nice this is. It’s the first gym I’ve ever been in that didn’t have them and until now I didn’t realize how distracting my own image was haha. Gone are the days that I worry about what I’m wearing or how I look while I’m working out. Craig is a stickler for form which has helped me immensely and helped with the years of back pain I’ve experienced. I can’t wait to start camping, backpacking and fly fishing this summer - Manic has me well prepared to enjoy the things I love!! I highly recommend Manic training for anyone 🧡

I joined Manic a little over six months ago. I can't say enough about how amazing this place has been for me. I thought that I was in decent shape prior to becoming a Manic family member; I was actively doing strength and cardio work, a runner, a yoga instructor. I have made so many gains in such a short time physically, but I am most proud of the mental strength I've acquired. Manic is so much more than just a "gym". Their motto: Ready For Life is truly what it's all about. Putting in the work in the gym, to be able to do the things you want to do outside the gym. The community is amazing. People have checked their egos at the door, and everyone supports each other. I love Manic and can't wait to see what I can accomplish this year!

I was a bit nervous moving to Fort Collins and having to find a new gym with a solid group of people to surround myself with. After doing my research and going to some trial classes, there was not a doubt in my mind that Manic Training was for me. Craig and all of the other trainers there are very supportive and took the time to get to know me. The other members of the gym were also very welcoming which was great coming to a new town where I didn't know anyone. The gym is not only great for the support group, but for the freakin results you get. I was at a decent weight before and after just 2 months working with Craig and the rest of the team, I have seen a major difference with my appearance and the way I feel. I have a toned stomach which hasn't been there in several years. I have way more endurance and strength to get through work, a long hike, or some climbing. I highly recommend this gym to whoever is looking for a place to enhance their lifestyle and meet other motivated people.

I hope busy mom's read this review because MANIC TRAINING IS the gym for everyone and ESPECIALLY us busy mom's! I see woman all over town dressed in their workout clothes.. either going to or from their gym and I literally want to run up to every one of them and say "YOU MUST GO TO MANIC TRAINING! YOU ARE WASTING YOUR PRECIOUS TIME EVERYWHERE ELSE!"...Unlike other gyms, At MANIC TRAINING ...you do a DIFFERENT WORKOUT everytime you go...what mom and wife has the time to invent and change up our workout to benefit our entire body 3 times a week?! Craig...the owner and coach creates different amazing HIIT workouts every week! Craig is the perfect balance of authority and care and concern...which makes you respect him, the workout, and the entire dynamic of MANIC TRAINING immensely. At a typical gym...you must pay extra to receive training and assistance from a personal trainer...not at MANIC TRAINING...every workout, a trainer...mainly CRAIG...is there to help and assist and guide you in every workout to only benefit yourself to workout safe and be stronger! The group gym classes also provide positive encouragement...everyone at MANIC, regardless if they are super-fit, average, or trying to get in shape...everyone is on the same team...everyone is so kind and encouraging...no mirrors in the gym...no egos! The workouts make you stronger and in better shape than you have ever been in! Finding Manic Training has been a blessing in my life...I am stronger not only physically but mentally and emotionally. I recommend MANIC TRAINING to everyone! I LOVE MANIC!

I have been with Manic for 8 months now and it has been the most wonderful gift to myself and in my journey to better health. The owner/trainer, Craig is the best trainer I have had the pleasure of working with. His ever watchful eye catches things I need to change and modifies workouts when my prior injuries flare up. I appreciate the fact that he is organized and punctual, and direct in giving instructions for the workouts. I love that he is an example of what he trains and when he works out along beside the team, I personally am encouraged. The workouts are tough. Period. I have found that with these workouts, I haven't only gained strength physically, but mentally and emotionally. My balance and endurance is getting better and it will continue to do so. This year is the first year that I have done 5K obstacle races, and 2 1/2 years after my heart attack that I have gotten back into running, without fear. I honestly have to say, I never would have done this if I hadn't had the training that I do at Manic nor the support that I get from the members of the gym. I love the feeling of walking through the door as it feels like I am coming home to see family and friends. There is no competition at Manic as we are all on the same team grinding out the same workout, just on our own levels hoping to do better than we did the day before.

Manic Training is the best thing to happen to Fort Collins since I moved here 3.5 years ago. I had searched and tried upwards of 10 different gyms and was always disappointed before Manic opened its doors last fall. Manic is what I have craved and searched for since moving here.

Manic is unlike any other gym. You don't just come in, do your workout and then leave. Manic is a community. It's made up of people who show up, work hard, support one another and enjoy life outside of the gym.

The workouts are always different and you NEVER get bored. After going to gyms in the past, I would often feel like I was "in shape" and the workouts weren't very challenging anymore. I've been going to Manic since it opened and I have never once felt "in shape"...the workouts kick my butt every single time.

Manic changes you physically, but almost more importantly, mentally. It teaches you to not doubt yourself and to realize that you and your body are capable of way more than you ever thought was possible.

For many of us, Manic is our "home" away from home. It is a place we look forward to going to filled with people who have become our second family.

I am a 60+ year old male who, until May 2016, was never big into strength training for any period of time. Although I did push-ups, sit-ups, and two-mile runs as part of my military physical fitness testing during my 6 years of active duty and 17+ years in the reserves, and have run several 10k's, 4 half-marathons, and some other short distances between 1980 and now, I never did any regular weight-lifting or resistance training. Current medical thinking is that strength training is one thing a person can do to stave off, if not outright prevent, the onset of Alzheimer's and the loss of muscle mass - two areas of my health I am concerned about.
My daughter-in-law managed to get me to try Crossfit in May 2016, which I managed to stay with until mid-August 2017, when that gym closed. In need of a place to do some strength training which I had by then developed the need for, become accustomed to, and wanted, I checked out Manic Training. A couple of Facebook friends and a couple of trainers at my previous gym had mentioned it (coincidentally(?)).
I like that Manic Training-Fort Collins workouts are predetermined and done in a group setting and available to go to 6 days a week and at different times of the day. Both Zack (one of the trainers) and Craig (owner/trainer) modify some of the exercises for me as needed, because of a persistent rotator cuff injury, ensure I do the exercises correctly, and keep me on track. I am training for my first marathon in late April 2018 and consider my Manic Training sessions 2 or 3 times a week great cross-training.
For a challenging and worthwhile experience, I would highly recommend Manic Training for those looking for something different, fun, and satisfying! The people are friendly and supportive and help make the hour sessions go by quickly. I checked it out and am glad I did.

Therefore, I gave Manic a try and haven't looked back since. It's tough, sure! but totally worth it. The camaraderie, support, and uniqueness of these classes are a rare thing to find. Last October I began searching for a functional workout for my 14 year old son that I could also do with him. I stumbled into Manic and decided to give it a shot. This was one of the best decisions of my life! Craig and Zach are not only knowledgeable trainers but they also push me to challenge myself in a way that I did not think was possible. The biggest difference I have seen is with my overall health. It has been 7 years since I had a L5/S1 discetomy for a herniated disc and I have also been dealing with a labral tear in my hip for the last 4 years. At 45 these injuries held me back due to the constant pain. However, Manic has changed that dramatically. My back and hip now feel stronger than ever and my chronic pain has mostly disappeared. Craig works with me to modify certain exercises and now due to my increased core strength and flexibility I rarely need to modify anything. I feel better physically then I have in over a decade and this has translated to better performance in the outdoor activities I love to do. My son and daughter are both young athletes and they really enjoy the workouts as well. It has been fun to find a place like Manic where we all can push ourselves and workout together in a fun, challenging, and supportive environment. Manic offers a large variety of workout times to fit any schedule. 3 hours a week can change your life!

Manic Training will change your life forever! I have been a member since October, 2017 and have religiously attended my 1 hour training sessions 3X/week as a supplement to my road and MTB training. The owner/instructor, Craig Gundlock, and his team are dedicated and committed to helping us all meet our individual and collective goals. Each class is unique with emphasis on high intensity interval training (HIIT) and total body strength. Craig is hyper engaged in each training session to ensure everyone is using perfect form while achieving our workout objectives. Craig's care goes beyond the gym. He has contacted me multiple times at home to check up on my fitness progress and to keep me motivated to reach my maximum potential.

The atmosphere in Craig's gym is like a family. We encourage each other while competing to exceed our own expectations to excel beyond what we think we're capable. We also participate and compete in races/events outside of Manic Training sessions. This has been a great way to meet new friends while expanding our Manic community.

The equipment used in Manic Training is first class. We use a variety of highly specialized machines, weights, balls, benches, and bars. Craig meticulously cleans and maintains his gym and equipment.
