Awesome bouldering gym. Took the beginner's class and it was great. Andrew really knows his stuff and you can tell he cares a lot about the place. It's a really welcoming environment. I can't wait to get back there.

This is the first bouldering only gym I'd been to and it was a ton of fun! The workout area looked really nice and there was a group class taking place. The routes humbled me, but they were fun and challenging to work on. I loved the traversing section, but didn't love topping out on the structures in the center of the room.
The only thing I really didn't like was that I didn't get any kind of walk through when I signed in - but I also didn't ask for one, so that's on me.

The route setting this summer is absolutely tragic. V1-3 is only uninteresting jug ladders and the back area is sparse empty traverse problems in the v7-10 range.

Normally, very cool spot but lately it's been ~70% comp routes. Hopefully not the new norm or a byproduct of Movement not adequately compensating its (very uniquely talented) setters

I really like this place in terms of bouldering gyms I think it's got a little bit of everything which is great. Slab, long traverse walls, steep caves they've got it all. One minor caution though because everything is graded in ranges and all the different ranges are matching colors (which is great for identifying what things you'd be able to climb and what you can't) beginner climbers might FEEL like they aren't able to climb a lot of different things though it's more a feeling caused by the samey-ness of the color grading system.
Update: They no longer grade in ranges thank God!!! One think that kind of sucks though is that lately they've had a lot of setting for comps which is great but there has been a wall that for two or three weeks only has like 2 problems on it which kind of sucks. Hopefully they'll put more routes on it soon though.

Great facility, awesome staff, and relaxed atmosphere. My kids have participated in summer camps here and not only have they become stronger, gained confidence in their capabilities, and learned a lot about bouldering, but they've had a blast with the other kids and coaches. Definitely recommend for anyone, kids and adults.

This gym is great! The less than 5 star reviews touching on the value for what you get IMO feel very inaccurate. If you are joining to only climb, and only go a handful if times a month, then you simply arent maxing out your membership benefits and thats on you. I appreciate that this gym is super open and relaxed, and the staff is super friendly, not stuffy or intimidating. My partner and i have been members for a fee months now and we both feel this membership is a great value. Yes this is primarily (obviously) a climbing gym but its not JUST a climbing gym. You also have access to their numerous yoga classes, fitness classes, and standard fitness/ workout rooms and equipment. Its honestly a great value when you compare to standard gym memberships. You also are able to use other locations and invite guests. The rino location is the largest bouldering space in the state, and is also connected to Improper city which is a cool social space. I take yoga classes here regularly, use the fitness spaces for cardio and lifting regularly, and just took my first bouldering class to get into climbing. Point being- even if you font climb (at a climbing gym) this membership is still valuable. And its a great way to meet new people! If people are spending money on a membership to only use it like once a week, then maybe dont get a membership and then complain about not using it as well as you could. But thats just me.

Consistently the best bouldering gym in the US. The setting is always fantastic, and they do a great job of resetting fairly frequently; I climbed here multiple times a week for years and never got bored of the routes. 10/10 recommend for climbers of all levels.

I personally think the $100+ membership is a bit much UNLESS you go more than 6 times. The price has continued to only go up but that's big corporation. FYI, this is a national chain.
Parking can be messy during the evenings and it's only street parking. Anything after 5pm is pretty much impossible unless you catch someone leaving.
The holds vary in terms of quality and the route setting schedule is decent. I think the range of ratings is great for people exploring bouldering for the first time, to not be intimidated by harder rated climbs.
The members at this gym specifically seem to be more egotistical and focused on impressing others, rather than enjoying the actual sport of climbing for themselves.
Wish they had a more affordable punch pass system as I can only go 4-6 times a month, but the punch pass is way more expensive than the monthly pass.
This is a bouldering gym ONLY, no lead / top rope.
Overall, I would recommend going elsewhere to smaller local locations to support local. (DBC / The Spot)

I hate rating a climbing gym less than 5* but this isn't my favorite location! I've gone twice and both times haven't been a fan of the setting. For reference I climb at Centennial, Englewood, and Baker regularly and love their setting. Maybe I've just gone on off days and maybe it's just a style mismatch. It also feels way more crowded here than other gyms even though there's tons of space.

Movement RiNo is hands down the best gym in Denver—top-notch climbing, great workouts, and an unbeatable vibe. But the real game-changer? Andrew. This guy is next-level—motivating, knowledgeable, and somehow always in the right place at the right time to make your day better. If you’re not training here, you’re missing out!

This has been my home gym for almost four years, so it’s a bummer to say this but aspects of this gym have eroded so much during that time that I barely have desire to even go here anymore. Two main things being 1) the crowds and 2) the CHILDREN… I know people complain about the crowds a lot already, but that’s because it’s bad and getting progressively worse. I’m genuinely not sure if there is a time of day anymore when it’s *not* crowded here, because I’ve tried mornings, weekends, middle of the day on weekdays, etc. and I’m overwhelmed 95% of the time.
And the culture around bringing kids here has become very out of hand. Parents bring their kids here like it’s a playground. And staff does nothing about it. It’s become alarmingly more common for parents here to go climb or sit somewhere on their laptop while the kids do whatever… It’s bad at all Movement Denver gyms but RiNo is somehow the worst. I’ve confronted both staff and parents when I see truly dangerous stuff, like a kiddo/group of kids using machines or running around. I feel weird continuing to speak up because I don’t want to be a nark, and it shouldn’t be my job to enforce gym rules. But this behavior becoming the norm is just not okay; it’s unsafe for everyone and creates a stressful environment. I imagine this happened partly because childcare is no longer offered (it wasn’t “financially viable”). Whatever the reason, I hope Movement takes action to try and course correct.

I climbed there for a month and I found the routesetting very disappointing. There was very little variety in the hold type and placement across the routes. It became boring very quickly. I noticed this in the first hour of climbing there, and I've never experienced this sort of thing at any other gym.
I'm a V6 climber who's been climbing on and off for 12 years, for reference.
Overall the gym is nice and clean, but that can't make up for the routesetting at what's supposed to be primarily a climbing gym.

I’ve been going to movement for years, but since the new ownership took over it’s really gone down the toilet. The cleaning schedule, weights area, classes, and overall experience has been basically ruined by the corporate ownerships thirst for profit. I slowly just wanted to be there less and less until I decided to freeze my membership for the season. They kept charging me full price for three months even though I called and emailed about it. After talking to the manager I was told the only way to get help was to leave a voicemail on some anonymous voicemailbox at corporate and someone would ‘text me back.’ Then a guy who only gave me his first name at the head office told me no refunds even though they admitted they overcharged me. Really disappointing and sad!! There are a lot of other great gyms out there though. Never going back to Movement.

I love Movement RiNo. I have a membership to Movement so I visit them often. I like it beucase it is more family friendly than the other Movement gyms in the Denver Metro Area that I have visited (Englewood, Centennial) for bouldering. The seetings are great, there is a huge variety that suit most styles and skill-levels. People on the staff are friendly and the place always looks clean and organized. Parking can be a little tricky sometines because they are in a residential area and close to lots of restaurants.

Shout out to the setters!
Some of the most interesting and fun boulder problems I've ever experienced. Plenty of styles to choose from(I would have loved more areas committed to slab climbing, but I acknowledge I'm an odd one out enjoying slab.) From traditional strength, crimpy, compression, modern dynamic, and coordination climbs.
Truly had an absolute blast here!

get rid of color circuits please grades are better. The beginner problems are really inconsistent and often sand-bagged here, whether because of the circuits or the route setters. That's bad when the majority of people climbing are climbing the green through orange ranges.

I have been to a bunch of great bouldering gyms, including the downtown denver spot and notably the cafe bloc in montreal and although this gym does not have beer on tap (there is a huge cafe next door) or has a rooftop patio, its the best gym I have ever been to. To begin with its very spacious and has those topout boulders. The topout boulders were great for my daughter who has grown afraid of hights as she got older. And it great to practice to top out for outdoor climbing. The setting is top notch, no ladders, a great variety of movements, even for easy climbings. The place is very big and there is cave, a great angle adjusting spray wall, a moon and a tension board, and some great rings with space to swing. Also whoever was in charge of the music had some taste. Yeah, I'm going to be back. This place is soooo different in a good way from movement baker and movement englewood. Also they have a peg board. Parking sucks, but they have great indoor bicycle parking.

Amazing bouldering only facility! I'm not a huge fan of traverses, but I think it's awesome that they have an entire section dedicated to just that - its great they have the square footage for that, and it keeps people from accidentally crossing paths on normal/more vertical problems! The main bouldering section was so much fun, and the comp sets were always super interesting, creative, and challenging. The gym itself is in a supreme location, near a ton of awesome restaurants/shops, etc; I would give anything to live in the apartments across the street!

I used to love coming here it was one of my favorite locations. but the new route setting is completely demoralizing to people newer to climbing. I have to completely avoid this location now that even their v intros are too hard sometimes. I used to do anything from 0-2 and I can climb almost nothing in the gym now. Other locations it's a totally different situation.
Nearly every new V0 involves having to go all the way to the top of the wall (no finish dots) so most of the time I feel really unsafe finishing routes and sometimes there aren't enough down climbs either. Not what I'm used to for more beginner friendly routes. Maybe more advanced climbers love the new routes at their level but I suspect these new setters are so far removed from being a beginner that they can't set appropriate routes.
Hopefully someday I can go back and enjoy climbing here again but it's way too hard and I just feel frustrated and angry every time I have gone for the past month or so. Very disappointing to have such a dramatic turn so quickly.

Unfortunately, the way they did this was not processed fully and was reversed weeks later. So, today, without any warning, they charged me $204 and for both months and not even the correct prorate for march starting on the 5th. Id rather go to the spot where my billing has never been an issue.

Prepare to be swept away to a land of camaraderie and challenging exercises. You'll be dodging imaginary fire-breathing treadmills and leaping over hurdles of self-doubt! Alexis has a knack for making you laugh while you're secretly sculpting your dream physique. Think high fives, upbeat music, and the kind of endorphin rush that makes you want to skip out of the gym feeling like a superhero.

This location offers bouldering only, no rope climbing. I've been a member with Earth Treks/Movement for around 5 years and I've always been more than happy with the facilities and customer service. This location only offers bouldering walls, but they have a section of traverse walls with moves more akin to roped climbing. The abundance of bouldering walls also means they consistently have a good selection of comp problems set as well. They share the building with a brewery making it easier than ever to celebrate a solid gym session. Big fan.

The setting used to be pretty questionable here, but it's gotten better the last year or so. The facilities are pretty nice but not very clean, and the windows are always filthy (The cleaning of which is a skilled trade, made evident by the fact they have forced their workers to attempt this task). Like the rest of the movement gyms they only sell limited footwear without straying too far from the most popular brands, doing a disservice to smaller companies that have better more innovative shoes and gear. They only sell Metolius crash pads, which is basically the huffy of pads. There are so many more brands they could carry, organic, snap, send, Asana, etc. To me it seems like they really only care about the shareholders and their bottom dollar, rather than the experience they are providing to their users.

Good bouldering-only gym for the size.
The yoga teachers' approaches are diverse enough, but there are some that are to my liking and others whose class I'll probably never attend again.
Cons:
-Indoor bike parking space could be improved / enlarged
-Bouldering problems tend to linger around too long
Pros
-Good spaces for non-bouldering exercise
-Great hours
-Sufficient community events
Edit:
I also wanted to mention that the comp wall set up lasts far too long. Less people approach / climb the comp walls resulting in the other climbing areas being packed.

The gym is spacious, clean, and well laid out. The atmosphere was really nice and I got to climb for free because it was my first time and Friday.
The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because they set their routes based on hold color instead of labeling routes. The result of this is every orange v4-6 route begins to feel the same, as each color of hold has a “feel,” with some colors being more jugs, some colors being more crimps, and some more slopers.
For me, I was mostly climbing the orange and pink routes, v4-v7, but they began to feel the same. When I wanted more variety and went down to v3-v5 range, it felt as if everything was jugs due to the color. When I went up to v6-v8, the difficulty and hold variety made it nearly impossible for me to make progress.
The gym was overall excellent and I liked the route setting for what it was, however I think limiting the difficulty of climbs to specific colors greatly limits the variety of routes, and made me feel as if there were only 2 colors really worth trying if I wanted to enjoy myself.
Edit: I’m lowering my rating as after reading other reviews from the past several years, it appears the gym is unreceptive to criticism and it doesn’t appear they’ve addressed any concerns of their reviewers. Not even a comment replying to a single review. Despite being a nice gym, if I’m not interested in your routes, there’s plenty of other gyms around that at least listen to their patrons.

Great gym. Well-rounded and maintained facilities with a nice selection of class offerings. Setting is good and problems are updated regularly on a variety of wall angles. Nestled within the Rino district with lots to do before or after a session.
Not every gym is going to tick every box for every climber. If you're looking to play with dogs and have 24 hour access while you rest between climbs, go to DBC. If you want a sink in the common area instead of walking into a bathroom, hit another Movement Location. Want toprope/lead, again, go to another Movement. If you can't wait for a piece of equipment to be repaired (these things take time), put one in your house. Point is, there's alot of value offered by every gym in the area. Check them all out and enjoy what each has to provide the local climbing community. And they all have competitive and reasonable rates for the amount of amenities and talented front desk and setting staff they provide. Climbing is fun, don't let your entitlement ruin it for you and others.

Great bouldering gym with a good variety of problems: traversing walls, caves, climb-over boulders (like most outdoor problems), and those programmable "smart-walls". The large size of the facility makes the crowds tolerable even during peak times.

I frequently visit climbing gyms when it's too cold to climb outdoors. Rather than tying myself down with a membership at any given gym, I've opted instead for a collection of day pass punchcards to places like Movement, The Spot, Denver Bouldering Club, G1, Boulder Rock Club, and so on. Of all the places I've been over the years, this is my absolute favorite bouldering gym. The variety, quality, and quantity of routes and styles at this gym truly set it apart from other bouldering gyms in the Front Range, and the facility feels very clean, open, and modern. Give this place a try - it doesn't disappoint.

My second favorite of the Movement gyms in the area. I love the traverse walls, they definitely challenge your endurance as they are really large and take some time to get through. Also enjoy that the top out boulders have a variety of heights, helps you to work up to conquering the larger ones. And it’s really cool that the cave section has lower level grades to give everyone a chance to work on overhang climbing and building that upper body strength.
I personally go early in the day so I’ve never had an issue finding street parking, but I can understand the frustration from those who go at peak hours since you are paying quite a lot to not have a dedicated parking lot, or honestly a garage since this is RiNo after all.
Two cons for me would be the setting here seems harder than other Movement gyms I’ve been to, and they don’t specifically label grades but instead use colors to indicate a general range. I can see why some might like this, but it makes it hard to know what level you are climbing at here compared to say Englewood’s gym.
My other con relates to the facilites. There is no sink other than the ones in the bathrooms, which I’ve honestly never encountered at a climbing gym before, usually there is one next to the water bottle filling stations. Yes they have big containers of hand sanitizer, but people want to wash their hands and get the chalk off before gathering up their stuff. The second part of this con regarding facilities is the lack of a foot washing station in the locker rooms. Again, every climbing gym I’ve been to out here and on the East Coast has this. Sometimes you don’t need to take a full shower at the gym, but you want to get your gross feet cleaned off before shoving them into your sneakers to go home, that way your sneaks don’t wind up stinking as bad as your climbing shoes.
I’ll keep coming here for the positive reasons I listed, although not as much as Englewood which doesn’t have the above cons.

Great bouldering gym with a range of grades from V0 - ~V12. Tons of options when it comes to board climbing, warmup equipment and weights. Lots of open space for yoga and stretching as well. Prime location near bars and restaurants in the heart of RiNo

One of the best climbing gyms I've ever been to. Huge. All bouldering (which is my format). Crags to top out fully, caves, slabs, volume climbs, huge traverse walls, programmable and adjustable training walls, DAY CARE for us parents ... It's got it all, I left out all kinds of other things. Just come check it out.

Very fun gym with lots of routes of all sorts of different styles. The top out section is really cool and can ease people into topping out. The traverse wall is a great way to build endurance and nice to a quick warm-up to the day. The back walls along the buildings walls have comp/skill builders that always provide particularly unique problems (did I mention a beginner knee-bar?!?). They have a really nice cave to (tear your skin apart) build strength without the risk of taking a bit and awkward fall (sloped ground with the wall that is always 5 feet under you). Finally, they have a bunch of standard walls that you might expect from other gyms.
Update: The route setting has gotten more challenging recently. Not really a con, it probably matches outdoor grades a bit closely, but be prepared when your normal grade feels tough here. There seem to be less white (easiest) routes then before too, making it slightly less beginner friendly. I still recommend the gym

Really impressed with the size of this gym. There's ropes everywhere, even on the second floor! I like their bouldering testing system where you can try out problems and see if the rating is correct. If I'm ever in the area I'll definitely visit again.

Unfortunately this movement gym is a bouldering only gym, the boulders are decent and it's fun to have a few boulders you can top out on but the facility was a little dirty. The color coded grading here is also frustrating when other movement gyms simply use V grades

Great bouldering gym… plenty of routes for everyone. Nice weight / cardio equipment. Classes offered are challenging & fun. Some of the bootcamp instructors play music WAY too loud and it’s very hard to hear instructions / communicate and in return one instructor was rude when they couldn’t hear me. Stopped going to those after that. The floor of yoga room is always disgusting. Yoga instructors are amazing and offer modifications for all levels.

I absolutely love this place. I love that moment when I am climbing and everything else disappears. Finding that "Flow" is priceless for me. I always know that if I need more cardio I can Jump in a Machine or a rower. I love it! So many options.
Update: I've been coming here for about a year. I love that they change the routes regularly. Enough that you stay engaged with new paths, but not so often that you can't keep working on a problem.

Great gym
Consistent quality, creativity, and generally consistent ratings with regular resets. Clean, good temp regulation, nice variety of terrain, easy access off the highway. Plenty of parking before 10am weekdays. Early morning is a lower usage time with a focused, pleasant clientele.
Have not tried evening, but I suspect they get busy.
IMO highest quality routesetting for bouldering in the Movement gyms. Worth the time every time.
