She is experienced in rehabilitation, low back pain, postural awareness, flexibility, spinal injuries, shoulder, knee and hip injuries, pre and post natal women, athletes, general body awareness, muscle tone, and trauma survivors. This is an approachable practice of pilates for ALL levels, beginner to advanced.

We, my wife and I, wish we'd discovered Pilates 40 years ago. Discovering Vanessa at this stage of life has been a gift. She takes you where you are, progress is measured in time, and the balance of strength, mobility, flexibility, posture, and physical balance steadily evolves. It's never too late to benefit, especially with someone of Vanessa's experience and skill.

THE. BEST. Literally. If you are thinking about going to see her, go and see her! I have been doing private sessions for quite some time now and pain that I’ve had in my chest for over a decade? Gone. Posture? A world’s difference. Mobility? Check. My first visit Vanessa spent so much time listening and understanding my numerous conditions and how best to work with me. And then she put in additional research before my next session. She came back with such a thoughtful, thorough, and impactful plan, and I am so grateful for the way she has personalized everything to suit my needs at any given moment. She’s constantly checking in on how workouts are feeling both in the moment and between sessions and is the sweetest human who’s ever existed. If I could give her double the stars I would!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Working with Vanessa since 2021 has transformed my life at 54. My core range of motion has never been better, thanks to weekly Pilates. As an active mountain biker and skier, Pilates has been key to my flexibility and quick recovery after challenging rides. After a grueling 65-kilometer mountain bike ride this summer, I was pleasantly surprised to have minimal soreness the next day. If you've ever wanted to reset your entire body and feel in total control of your balance, posture, flexibility; look no further than Pilates by Ness. I don't usually write reviews but, Vanessa is a gift and her talents need to be shared. She has changed my life. Vanessa takes the time to understand where you are and where you want to be....then she goes to work. I have NEVER looked forward to working out until I started working with Vanessa. I don't care how I feel, I still look forward to every session. I always feel better after my session and can't wait until the next one. I have been working with Vanessa for 8 months, 3 to 4 times a week. She is part of living my best life and I'm sure she would love to help you do the same.

Vanessa is the sh**! I have always love pilates, but never actually went to classes or worked 1-on-1 with someone. In 1 session she fixed my shoulders so much that I was breathing better. We've continued to work on them, and after a couple weeks, I'm noticing a huge difference with how they sit, and they are more relaxed all around. Highly recommend! She's really easy to talk to, but even while you're in conversation she is always paying attention to your form and doesn't sacrifice quality.

Vanessa has helped me dramatically is 2 very different phases of my life. First when I was in the best shape of my life, working out with weights and cardio most days of the week. Adding Pilates with Vanessa was exactly what I needed to help me keep moving forward with adding heavier weights to my lifting sessions.
And secondly, now, as I am pregnant and had major set backs with workouts. Vanessa has made sure I am being safe and felt comfortable and confident through all exercises.

I have taken Pilates classes for 15 years and have become very picky about working with good teachers. I have worked with Vanessa for five years and can confidently say she's one of the best. When teaching she is a keen observer, and catches the smallest of misalignments and imbalances in my body. Her knowledge of anatomy is fantastic and she is able to clearly explain the goals of each exercise. I always feel energized after a class with her. Besides being a great teacher, she's a kind and warm-hearted person. I would recommend her for both people new to Pilates and experienced Pilates practitioners.

If you have ever been hesitant to try Pilates because you thought you needed to be "in-shape" or "flexible" or "coordinated", you have it all wrong. Vanessa is the PERFECT person to help guide your Pilates practice no matter your experience level. I have been visiting Vanessa for Pilates privates for about 5 years and I can honestly say that this is what keeps my body in line and properly functioning! She is so knowledgeable on everything from rehabilitation (she helped me to re-gain normal function in my shoulder after a surgery) to fitness (my core is strong thanks to her). Vanessa is hands down the best. I have been training with her for nearly a year now and have been truly impressed with the results. I have a number of injuries and body issues (I’m over 40, so my warranty has expired) and the focused and customized sessions she develops, often changing with each session to address whatever issues I’m having that day, have kept me from having any major issues since we began our sessions. Not to mention my arms and shoulders frequently get compliments now :)
If you are looking for an exercise program with dedicated customization that addresses your body concerns from a patient and kind instructor you should absolutely check out Pilates by Ness. Additionally, most of the time you won’t even realize how hard you are working until after the workout is over! Whether you are new to Pilates or a seasoned practitioner I highly recommend.

I wanted to start practicing pilates for quite some time, and in 2020, I found Vanessa & Pilates by Ness, and got to it! I am incredibly grateful for this practice, for our private sessions, and how much stronger I have become with Vanessa’s instruction over the last ~9 months. Her COVID protocol has allowed me to feel at ease, and our time together has helped not only my physical strength & confidence, but my mental health as well, during this tough time. I can’t recommend Pilates by Ness more highly. Vanessa is an amazing pilates instructor and has been instrumental in helping me overcome back and shoulder issues through her rehab pilates sessions. When I first started seeing Vanessa for a lower back injury, I didn't know anything about pilates. She's an excellent instructor and has been extremely patient and helpful with an old guy like me as he learns the ropes (springs). My lower back has been progressively getting better and she even fixed an impingement in my shoulder. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone, but especially to those needing to rehab an injury. Simply stated, the best!

I have been working with Vanessa now for over 3 years. I started pilates because of chronic lower back pain, and I stuck with it and with Vanessa as an instructor because it goes so far beyond only healing or helping with injury or stress. My posture has improved and so has my core strength. Vanessa isolates the problem areas that are either not properly aligned or places where I need to work on strengthening muscles. I aways learn something new each time and I have experienced improved range of motion, flexibility and am pain free now. I think anyone would benefit from Pilates with Vanessa.

Hip pain was preventing me from doing the simplest tasks and I was recommended to Vanessa for pilates treatments. I am so happy I found her! Every session she guides me through a series of movements and exercises that are simple (but by no means easy!) and explains the reasoning and benefits behind them. Based on her advice and guidance, I find myself correcting my posture and movements outside of our sessions as well. My hip is feeling awesome and she played a huge role in that. Next up, knee injury rehab!

I have been seeing Vanessa now for about 3 years. She has helped me tremendously with residual neck and sacrum pain from car accidents. My pain levels are down and I overall feel more balanced.
