I like this place. Sure, it doesn't have everything that you would ever want, but it is great for the price and there have been no hassles. Maintenance of equipment and locker rooms is better than at the several 24 hour fitness locations I am familiar with. The manager is excellent, great attention to details. Staff is friendly. And it is a convenient location for me.
10/5/24 update : Manager is gone. Attention to detail & quality left with him. The experience here got much worse.
3/2025 update : New manager "Ren" is wonderful.
9/2025 : "Ren" left for greener pastures & a different profession.
10/2025 New manager seems pretty good. Saw him training an existing employee to do something the right way, and he resolved the issue with TV's that occurred during the interval between managers (ie more big TV's showing Fox "news").

Planet Fitness in Aurora is impressively spacious—rows upon rows of treadmills (feels like nearly a hundred) plus plenty of strength and circuit stations, so waits are rare. Parking is easy and close to the entrance, making quick workouts truly quick. Staff are friendly and upbeat, keeping the place tidy and the vibe welcoming. Great value for a no-stress workout.

Low monthly dues for a lot of perks and a nice, clean, and peaceful workout environment that isn’t overcrowded, competitive, and allows you to work at your pace and level. Black member perks are a nice add on each month for not a lot extra. Good weight circuits and free weights, lots of cardio equipment, clean locker rooms and friendly staff. Always a nice experience for my daughter and I when we go to work out. PF also has a really easy to use online fitness tracker so you can keep up on your own progress.

It's alright gym, but I'd say a lot of downsides like
-not enough mats (I counted only 4, Carl),
-only one chest fly machine (it's a popular one and often busy), the same as triceps and biceps extension machines (also one in 30 min zone)
-small bench zone next to the mirrors
I'd make some changes with the equipment, and get rid of the equipment that is not popular.

Gym is clean most of the days. Staff is very nice, however, I have yet to see them clean any equipment. Equipment mainly wiped down by members. This gym lacks sportsmanship culture. People leave equipment without reracking weights; 2 yoga mats in the whole gym I find to be ridiculous. 4 smith machines are almost never available. People simply camp out on benches, and own machines forever without doing crap. Working in is not mentality here. I find that there are way too many cardio machines vs weight machines. Dumbbells are two sets of each but only go in 5 pound increments. Smaller weights are just one set and constantly all over the gym. Why have so much staff behind counter when checkin is automatic instead of working the gym itself?

I’ve been to a lot of different planet fitness locations and overall like them especially for the price. But not this one. Ladies I cannot express enough how I want you to be careful at this location. I’m a fat lady and men were constantly staring at me I felt so uncomfortable that even if I did like this gym I wouldn’t come back.

Besides that, I couldn’t find any yoga mats for stretching, I only found one cleaner to clean up, the number of machines for weights is small and the whole place smelled like onions so I worry it is not frequently cleaned

This gym was great when I started coming here 2 years ago. I’ve noticed the management role has changed multiple times since then. In the past few weeks, everything about this location seems to be deteriorating. Only 1 working stairmaster out of 6, equipment and weights left on the ground in random places, used paper towels all over the gym, staff not refilling spray bottles/paper towels, and staff has become less welcoming/unfriendly.
Going to different locations has made me realize how negative my recent experiences have been here. I do not recommend this location.

I’ve been coming here for years and typically I’ve had okay experiences. Recently it’s been consistently negative. Broken machines, really dirty locker room, dirty paper towels left all over the cardio and weight equipment. I’m really disappointed in how gross it’s been trying to work out here lately. I signed up for tanning. I have nothing positive to say about the ATB in my area. So for 22 dollars a month I have unlimited stand up tanning, they have 4 different rooms I have never had to wait. everything is air conditioned, so when you want to tan in August- you are heat stroke free.

I will say, I would like to see the floors in the tanning area cleaner.

I use the gym part of the pass once in a while, and always happy with it when I do.

I recently had a big issue with your employee Justin harassing me over night. I go into the club Monday thru Thursday nights to workout without being rushed or the gym being too crowded the first night I encountered Justin he was harassing me unwarranted about locks on the lockers. I informed him of my lock and locker and assured him all my things leave with me when I leave. 2 nights later he's back and literally feels like he's following me every single time I go into the locker room to see where I put my things, when I go get coins to use the massage chair he then proceeds to go into the locker room cut my lock off which has very expensive camera equipment in it looks through my locker while I'm not there and throws my lock away. When I confront him about it he says nobody touched my lock and that I'm crazy. I'm not an idiot as there are plenty of other lockers with locks which have not been touched. And don't tell me about your policy because the locks that are there were the very same locks in the very same spots as they were when initially came to me and complained and he hasn't touched them so he literally isolated me and violated my privacy. I don't bother anyone at the gym I keep my area clean and am very respectful to the facility. I don't have problems with anyone else there at the gym this guy simply has it out for me.

These people are such liars!! Definitely not a judgement free gym. Im talking about the particular gym in Aurora on Mississippi next to the i225. A staff member got mad at me because I asked her for a training belt. Instead of attempting to correct the problem the manager came to me and assume I was doing something to be treated the way I was being treated. Instead of attempting to fix the situation the manager of the location, lied on me then tell me to leave the gym. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a planner fitness gym makes me considered joining another gym.Then when I report to the manager, he and her started telling me I’m on camera going behind the counter to grab the belt myself. Ask them to show me that video, they are unable to produce the video. Then because I refuse to accept any of their lies I was kicked out of the gym for “not speaking to then how they think they deserve to be spoken to.” I mean, idc for then because I’m a black card member for years now sng can go to whatever gym Ichoose. Just had to let everybody know these people are liars and has horrible customer service!!
It’s ok I’m canceling my membership after about 7 years. You guys are getting ahead of y’all self. I bought my own weights and will be working out from home. Wish i could put a 0 star but it won’t let me.

The front desk clerk who opposite to how I’m usually greeted here and at other locations couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge my existence when walking in and scanning my card but after a few steps past the desk, he shouts at me to come back, telling me to show him my planet fitness app, I did.

I came here with a friend of mine to test out the equipment at this place on Mississippi Ave Planet Fitness an I went to ask about the massage beds after my workout and the employee Edward and the Assistant Manager told me that I couldn’t because it was limited to only members. So I was wondering what was the whole point of coming if I couldn’t utilize the gym to see if I wanted to join so because of that reason I recommend that if you come to planet fitness you WILL NOT get the whole experience and it will be limited so I decided I will join another gym somewhere else definitely not Planet Fitness.
