Worst planet fitness club experience I’ve had hands down in 10 years.
1) Club Manager couldn’t accurately reference his screen when providing the exact date I started my membership, repeated the question 3 times before he caught on.
2) Club manager acts manic, makes basic interpersonal mistakes that make the environment feel challenged during basic conversation.
3) Club manager quotes info that differs from what is publicly listed on the Planet Fitness websites.
4) Club manager provided inaccuracies about membership info, attempting to micromanage my inquiry.

Unfortunately I cannot just purchase a more expensive membership at this time. I had to relocate out of Lakewood and now have a 40min commute to this planet fitness one direction.

It’s so sad that I now hate this Planet Fitness and am being forced to stay because of this manager! I had loved this gym until I experienced this manager.

The desk employees are always wonderful, always so nice & knowledgeable and helpful, they know their Planet Fitness better than this Manic Manager.

Maybe this Manger has a college degree or experience, hopefully he’s not the franchisee because that would a horrible representation of this brand….the desk employees seem more fit to run the store…just teach them PnL’s & ops, I’d trust them more with my customers interactions after my experience this evening.

Overall this gym closes too early Fri-Sun with a 40 min commute one direction. I feel like I’m being punished by this manager after our conversation.

Because of my unfortunate interpersonal experience with this gym manager + their hours combined with my now 40min commute one direction, this gym=1/5.

FYI: There are better ways to interact with your customers over their membership & their options other than suggesting they should quit…what sort of gym offers the suggestion “you can cancel your membership” as a primary solution? that’s basically saying ….”just give up” …not a good look.

Obviously I’ll keep coming, and leaving reviews until the first week of November.

Would be glad to remove this review or upgrade to 4 stars but I need to get my Home club changed please. I’m day ~76-79 of the 90 days. A little flexibility is always appreciated, happy to pay the club its monthly due regardless. Just don’t wanna be driving 40min one direction pls.

By far the dirtiest PF I have ever been to. I travel quite a bit and have been to 40-50 different ones. After showering I walked to my locker and my feet were black. It was disgusting. The changing rooms had clumps of hair and dirt in the corners and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. I tried twice to call to let the manager JR know but he wasn’t in and the employees at the desk had no idea when he would be there. You need to do better.

was a good gym while I had my membership eventually had to cancel it after a move.It was a very smooth experience.The representative Kyler helped me cancel my membership in under 5 minutes.It was a super easy process.I'm very satisfied.

Every other planet fitness I have been too made it nearly impossible to cancel with false excuses and lies however my experience at this location was great. Shout out to kyler 👍

This gym just got a new face lift with all brand new cardio machines. They also got rid of the timed workout corner that nobody used and installed free weight squat racks and added all sorts of other new machines. Finally this gym got the face lift it needed

I've been going to this gym for about 5 years now and I'm very happy with it. Everyone here is always so friendly and the Manager always remembers my name. They just brought in a bunch of new equiptment and the gym looks really nice. Lots of lifting areas and it's never overly crowded which is nice but I tend to go in the mornings so not sure how it is in the evenings. Great value for the price.

I think this gym is ok but it could be a LOT better.

I like how uncrowded it is BUT the people working the desk are, for the most part, really unfriendly. (I really enjoy getting the stink eye from a couple of the women when I am checking in.) Not to mention some guy at the desk going out of his way to be rude when I asked about the gym equipment reorganization they had this week, when I asked how much more they had before they were finished. The guy looked at me like I was an idiot and told me they were always reorganizing equipment. I’ve been going to this gym since January and this is the first time they have reorganized the entire gym (they even closed for a day). I could go on about how rude he was but I won't.

The gym feels really random and unorganized, add in the crappy service attitude, and you get this review.

For a company whose tag line is LEAVE YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR, that should apply to their employees as well!

Dirtiest PF I've ever been to. Health risk! Machines were fithly and only 2 stairmasters! Uncomfortable environment between the staff and meat heads slamming weights. Lockerooms-bathrooms-(wouldn't even sit on the toliet) were disgusting along with tanning beds/black card spa. Staff (older man) was extremely rude,along with the manager-Sitting on the counter,talking, and annoyed to be asked to use amenities.
Tried this gym 3 times to give them the benefit of the doubt...pure disappointment.

I've been going to this Planet Fitness
for years.
It has everything I need/want to work out my whole body.
One concern that I have is that the Therapy Balls need to be blown up. They are very low on air. The staff does not know where the pump or pins are to blow these balls up.
Should I bring in my pump & pins & blow them up myself which I'm willing to do?

I travel the country on business and train 4 to 5 days a week at planet fitness near me. I live in Colorado and the planet fitness on South Wadsworth and 285 is hands-down, the nicest, and the cleanest one I’ve ever been to. The staff is does outstanding job and should be rewarded!

Can not complain too much about this location other than it gets grossly over packed. However, their hours are limited compared to most other locations. The more frustrating part of this is that there have been more than a few occurrences when they are closed during what is supposed to be their regular business hours. I already live 15 minutes away and its extremely frustrating when you get there and they are closed, then have to drive an additional 10-15 minutes further away to another location.

I own a black card membership and I go there this morning 09/30/24 around 5:30am trying to work out and this older guy that works there did not want to check me in because I was signed into another club! He couldn’t help me change it and said I had to change it at home. I was very upset because he wasn’t able to help me. The woman who works on Sat. mornings is beyond rude. When we complained about her behavior, the manager acted as if he was concerned and even reviewed the video showing her yelling at my husband and son yet nothing was done. I was “Extremely Disappointed “with this Planet Fitness Location. I travel a lot and I have been to many Planet Fitness locations across the US. I was extremely disappointed with this Planet Fitness location. The physical condition of this Planet Fitness location is terrible. They have old and very limited equipment. A lot of the TVs were not working as well. The management staff ( JR) has a rude attitude. My interaction with the manager JR at this location was not pleasing. When I was inquiring about a day pass for a guest the club manager JR acted as if they did not want guest working out at this location. JR was very adamant and happy to tell me that this Planet Fitness Location was an individually owned franchise location and they run it different than most Planet Fitness locations. He made it sound like it would take an act of Congress to get a guest a day pass. Unfortunately! Based on the management service and the bad condition of the equipment I cannot recommend this Planet Fitness Location to anyone.

The assistant manager with the tattoos on the side of her head is incredibly short and ill tempered with people. She cut me off from tanning over TWO MINUTES. I completely get that you’re closing, there’s 13 minutes left and I’ll be in there for 6 minutes. I’m not going to affect your closing time, I’ll even bring the trash bag out with me to help you guys out. Nope. Completely hardline over six minutes of tanning. Unbelievable honestly. The other staff is really nice, just not her. If you see someone with tattoos on the side of their head, know you’re not going to get a great customer experience.

it's fine 🤷‍♀️ the tunes are great, had a good few throwbacks. dont know about the staff since there was no one at the desk when i came in and the interior setup is a little wacky. showers are touchy but what really put a bad taste in my mouth is these signs all over the womens (and im assuming the mens) restroom. just as a reminder to the staff/management at this location, denying someone a service they pay for and proceeding to void their access to that service without providing a refund is theft. perhaps adjust your signage before you run into legal trouble.
it seems that every pf club has a different policy they want to make up and they would prefer not to give you any advanced notice; just get over yourselves yall, you work at the cheapest gym on the market, not a maximum security celebrity resort.

Update: Talked to this manager and he brushed off everything that I said and spoke more about the balance that I had tried to pay but never got any communication. He disregarded the fact that his employee was incredibly rude and unprofessional, this issue was never about the balance, but about the lack of communication. This place needs a new owner/ management.

I wish the manager would also take responsibility and say that he created this issue by not following up on the issue in the first place- this could have been resolved last week.

I had the worst experience ever at this gym. The employee that works early mornings during the week day was incredibly rude. Last week I went in after newly opening my planet fitness account. I had been able to access the other locations just fine. This employee told me that I had a collections balance that I needed to pay. I want to note that when he initially told me this I did not question it and was willing to pay immediately . He told me that it didn’t work (don’t know what that means) but that he would have his manager call me. I awaited a call so that I could rectify this issue and get back to working out. I never received a call. I would also like to note that my current number was taken down by the employee.

I called my Home location to see if there were any issues on my account bc my app wasn’t working but he told me that there was a glitch in the app unrelated to billing issues. I used the app to try and contact billing support.

When I went back there today, I signed in no issue. The employee looked directly at me. Ten minutes after I had already started working he came over to Me and asked me to remove my headphones so that he could tell me that I needed to pay my balance or I couldn’t workout there. Again, I was
Confused bc I tried to pay my balance and had even made multiple attempts to resolve the issue. The employee was incredibly rude when I asked For the managers card. I told him that this was ridiculous because I have not had any issue at any other
Location nor had I received any correspondence when I was trying to resolve the issue. What an incredibly humiliating experience to be addressed like that. I don’t understand why he didn’t say something when I walked in instead of letting me start.

The gym is an intimidating place and it can be really hard to build it into your routine. Things like this make it so hard to stay motivated. I never had an issue paying what I owed from over a decade ago but I did have an issue with the lack of follow up and the attitude of the staff member.

I have been going to this planet fitness for over five years now. The staff men and women have always been so welcoming except Memo j/k. They say hello and goodbye when you leave. It is a very clean facility and they have a good variety of machines and free weights. On weekends there is a girl with short hair with purple in it. She is always cleaning, filling up paper towels and attentive. She saw me reading a sign by the desk and stopped what she was doing to see if I needed anything.
I appreciate all they do to make my gym experience a good one. I think we all need to remember that dealing with people day in and day out is not always easy. Give them some grace and remember our tone of voice and a smile can change someone’s day!

Easy to access, clean location, friendly staff, lots of cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. The black card zone was closed and they were having WiFi issues the last time we went. The gym itself is fairly good, but I downgraded the rating from 4 stars to 3 stars, because when you try to cancel, which I had to do due to a job transfer. You either have to do it in person at the home location, or you have to mail a physical letter. You can't just take care of it over the phone or with an email. Horrible process!

I am an HVAC service technician in the Denver area. I have gone to all the Planet Fitness gyms in the Denver area. This is the best and cleanest one of all. I watched employee Kelsey as she was cleaning the machines. I was very impressed with her attention to detail. Spending plenty of time vacuuming every part of the machines. The machines are in good working order too-unlike many Planet Fitness sites. The only reason I can’t give 5 starts is because the shower dressing rooms don’t have a table or chair. You have to set everything down on the floor while showering which is kinda gross even for a clean gym.

I had the worse experience ever here!
I signed up for planet fitness last night. I accidentally signed up for the wrong club. Not knowing about the organization I thought I could change to the right gym closer to my house. I called to attempt this and Melissa answered the phone. She informed me she was unable to update the address only the manager can. So I asked if I could cancel the membership since it was only a dollar I wanted to resign up. I went down to the gym and canceled my membership. She recognized my voice and was immediately asking me if I was the same person. I told her no as to try and avoid conflict. She was super rude. I left and signed up for black card and went back in to work out. She began to get mad at me for having an attitude. I was very surprised because my issue was resolved and I was about to work out. She kicked me out saying I had a bad attitude but I only cancelled the membership with her. She said I was yelling while she was screaming at me. Customer service to me means you can’t yell at a customer for being upset with a complicated process. She said and I quote. “ I don’t get paid enough for this.” I hope she finds a job that fits her more because she seems very unhappy. I never wrote reviews but this was so shocking I had to warn the people.

One of the workers spends seemingly his entire shift working out and just looking to see if anyone is at the desk instead of working. The low ceilings make circulation bad so I find it stuffy compared to other planet fitness locations. Also, why the heck aren’t they open 24/7? I thought that was what I pay for? They close at like 7pm on weekends which just feels ridiculous. I would go to another location if the location was less convenient for me.

Favorite gym! I'm a seasoned lifter, but feel no reason to spend twice as much as other gyms when PF has all I need. Never had an issue with equipment, cleanliness, or accessibility at this gym. You do encounter the random rude patron- but that's life! You know they've got your back if it escalates. Front desk has *always* been friendly and attentive. The one place I've never had to worry about who is working because all are competent and kind.

Not usually crowded (even after the New Year!) and plenty of benches and machines. Black card members get up to 20 mins on the hydrobeds which is great. Not open 24 hours but works with my schedule

Kristen at the front desk on weekday mornings is awesome.
The bathrooms/showers are always filthy and, because I get ready for the day there 5-6 days a week, it is very obvious to me that they are not cleaned on a daily basis, maybe even weekly basis. And NEVER deep cleaned. I complained about some gross things in the shower back in June (this is November) and some of it is still there.
Lastly, they have a sign up by the machines with awful grammar that I cannot believe has not been noticed. It looks very unprofessional.
Quick follow up....as I mentioned, I did mention my concerns to management in June.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I absolutely love planet fitness but as a company they clearly are just about the money without trying to help customers at all. I had been being charged for two accounts for about 8 months ( yes it was my fault I didn’t notice the charge ) but when I came in to resolve the issue they said I had two accounts ( one set up in person and one online ; which I have never signed up online for anything with them ). They canceled my one account and told me to call a number to resolve the issue about a refund. Well after calling that number I was told because I set up two accounts that it was my fault and would not receive a refund. I understand me making the mistake of not seeing being charged twice but kind you both of these “ accounts l were in the same exact city. I have paid basically double now when they can clearly see how much I’ve checked into that account and where it’s being used. So thank you planet fitness for clearly not caring about long term clients.

The staff are extremely LGBTQI friendly. The facility is always superbly clean (including the locker room and bathroom). The other patrons are always very polite. This is my favorite gym I've ever had a membership to. I highly recommend it to all, ESPECIALLY if you are looking for a queer friendly gym. 💖🏳️‍🌈💖🏳️‍🌈💖🏳️‍🌈

Good location with easy parking, staff is great, always clean, never overcrowded. T.V.s are tiny and literally never working, lots of wasted space in one side of gym leaving all the equipment crammed into the other, incredibly inconvenient locker room hours. Overall would recommend.

2 hydro massage beds, 1 hydro massage lounge and 2 roller chairs that work! 1 total body enhancement booth that only has intensity programs that work (fan is hot only, music not available with other features). It's not super crowded and there is good spacing between machines, though have the tv sets are pixelated and you can't see the images. I didn't see lockers in main room.

I recently started going here to run since it gets to hot to run outside in the summer. The gym is always clean and never too crowded. The girl that works in the morning during the week is really nice and has great customer service! I really enjoy going to this gym location.

Kristen, a new hire at Planet Fitness, intruded into a conversation between myself and another customer over him being too noisy with the weights. I don't even know him, but, he wasn't being noisy at all. Not bothering anyone, but her apparently. She posted a single handwritten sign on the wall just in front of him. I looked at him, shook my head and said, "Its always something." She over heard that conversation from across the room and marched right back and butted in and artificially created an incident and forced confrontation. . It was immature like Middle school. Unbelievably unprofessional! She had no business interjecting herself into a private conversation like that. That is really close to the definition of harassment by Colorado Statute. She actually called the police after I left and then cancelled my membership because she said she felt disrespected. Respect is a two way street! If this is their policy there, then it is a very poor one. Its obvious that they are losing more customers than they are gaining. I have been told that the turn over there is high, so I guess they are a little desperate for help!

I travel the country with a National Rock Band and this is by far the worst establishment we've came across. The gentleman with the man bun and beard was extremely rude and acted as if helping us was a burden. Then he came out and told us we couldn't be in the parking lot with our van and trailer. ONLY Planet Fitness we've ever had an issue with. Bummer situation 😕

I called regarding my acc and she asked gif this was my home gym. I said yea but I’ll double check. She continued to make me sound that I’m incompetent. “ there’s two planet fitnesses off Wads.” Well if I called you guys obviously you are my home gym.
Next when I originally signed on I was told I can call at anytime to change my home gym, call to cancel.

Lately I’ve been told many things that went against everything they told me prior my sign up.

I’ve been traveling and have visited many PF locations. I run into situations where my barcode does not register at gyms other than my home gym. JR took just a few minutes to call my home gym and get my barcode updated so I can access away gyms with no issues. He was super helpful, friendly, and personable. Great gym to visit!

I was taking a quick shower after my workout, the Hispanic man working, he has glasses and he's bald, he yelled at me and shut off the water and kicked me out while my hair was still wet. When I was walking out he said the showers close at 9 and it's a company policy and he'd already told me. He never said that to me. I have autism and a physical disability. This behavior isn't necessary. I've also observed the same individual going up to people and telling the to put on their masks while shakes their hand. Social distancing is definitely not his best skill. I give this place a solid zero for horrifying customer service

Before moving out of the area we were members at the Lakewood Planet Fitness for more than 10 years and it was a great place to workout. JR the manager is a great guy and he does an excellent job keeping the place running well - - even during the pandemic, which is quite a challenge! They've invested in a lot of the latest fitness equipment - that is definitely worth checking out. They also have plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, and other aerobic machines, so it's never hard to find an available machine, and they do a good job of keeping them well maintained. There are also plenty of weight machines and free weights - so it's easy to get a good overall workout. If you're looking for a friendly, clean, well-run place to workout, and at a very reasonable price, you can't go wrong with Planet Fitness in Lakewood.

Been trying to cancel my ex boyfriends account for 8 months. Every time we tried to cancel or thought we succeeded nothing was done. We Have done everything including mailing a cancellation in writing because he lives out of state now. Staff said they would take care of it yet I’m still getting charged for it. Don’t tell someone that your going to fix something and then following through. I’m at the point where I will be cancelling my membership to and going somewhere else. This is the absolute worst customer service I have experienced.

I'm a BLACK CARD member, so I can visit different PF gyms as I travel. This Gym was a surprise right away because they have limited hours, shut down Black Card facilities 20 minutes before closing, and charge extra for the Tanning eye-foil covers. Then THEY TAMPERED with my Card so that NO membership showed up. This resulted in calls back to my originating CLUB and attempts to fix the card, but they TAMPERED with it AGAIN (It still works at other clubs), and then tonight they sprung the REASON. --- QUOTE: If I don't like coming in, getting Jerked around for my card showing NO membership, the Desk-Attendant said, I should change my base-club membership to this club. True Story. BTW, I don't have anything against the Club. It's very old, but prefer the older equipment because it's a superior design. The truth is the short-hours and lack of proper service attitude by the staff are a deal-killer. FYI: 5-STAR reviews are almost always either FAKE, FAMILY or PAID-Off in some way. I would normally never give a 1-STAR review but SCAMMING My card andn hassling me to make me change to their GYM is about as low as it goes. Should by -10-Stars for that. It's sick & dishonest.

NOT SAFE FOR WOMEN!!
I visited this location with a friend to see if it could be my new gym. All was well until an older man started visibly stalking a very young woman a cross he gym. He was making no attempt to hide the fact he that he was creeping. He was not in gym attire (a polo and denim shorts) and would blatantly stop to stare at the woman. When I alerted staff, all she said was "I know him he's a good guy." The staff here does not care about preditory behavior and apparently makes excuses for it. I am disgusted. I wish I could give negative stars.

This planet fitness is the best planet fitness in the Denver metropolitan area hands down. A SuperCrew with fantastic knowledge of exercise machines and free weights. The staff of Brenda, Peyton, JR and Omar are sensational. You can always go and ask them for pointers and they will never turn you down. The place is always kept at a immaculate state of cleanliness. This is a first-rate planet fitness with a owner that cares about each member! A wonderful fitness Center that you will be glad you joined!
