I always look forward to going to this gym! It’s smaller, less crowded, and has more than everything I need for a variety in workouts. It’s clean and fellow gym-goers do a decent job of wiping down equipment after use. The staff are super friendly and I’ve learned so much from my trainer, so far. It’s a great local spot if you’re in the area, especially for the price.

Great gym, fine staff, plenty of equipment with top-notch personal trainers. I've been visiting this gym 5-6 days a week since February 2019, minus time-out for the nearly 3-month COVID shutdown in 2020. Highly recommended facility.

It's okay. I'd say the worst part of this gym is the people- between the staff and the members, the staff are kind of rude and I've heard them say disgusting things about women, while I was standing 10 feet away. There were some creepy members that wouldn't leave me alone or give me personal space, I know that's not really the gyms fault but its just an odd and uncomfortable gym culture. Otherwise, you have the typical gym equipment that is in pretty good condition.

Never in my 53 years have I been treated so poorly. We needed some assistance to find an item lost in their facility. We were literally thrown out! The young, lighter skinned gentleman working Saturday afternoon, 7/9/22, was so rude and arrogant, I was simply stunned. I've owned a couple of businesses myself and would NEVER treat ANY human being the way he treated us. COMPLETELY inexcusable! I will NEVER give a dime of my money to that business again. And you can definitely count on me letting anyone who will listen hear my story about the horrible customer service I received there. The owner of the establishment must not be concerned with how his customers are treated if that type of service is tolerated, or perhaps, encouraged? It would certainly seem so from my perspective. Extremely disappointed!

I've been going to this gym 5 days a week since November of 2021.

Love the staff here. Super friendly and helpful. Some folks to shout out in particular are Ronnie, Gaspar, Mariam, Kimberly, and Shamus. They all know me on a first name basis, and feels like I'm chatting with friends when I come in. I love going to a gym that feels like a community. They all deserve raises!

Additionally, I have done a free PT session, have spoken with some of them about how they feel about being personal trainers, and observe them everyday in sessions, and they all genuinely care about helping people through proper fitness training and making a difference in their life's.

Another bonus is that currently, this place is never very crowded. I have seldom had to wait for a machine, a set of dumbbells or a squat rack (seriously... I have maybe had to wait to use something twice in the last 8 months). I can always easily get super sets in without inconveniencing other gym-goers. Even around peak times when it is busier, it's nothing compared to a Planet Fitness or Vasa. Worth every penny more it cost's a month IMO.

Gym also always feels organized and clean.

I just dig it, and the folks that work there. So sign the heck up!

Good gym and all, but they make the cancellation process difficult. I had called in a couple times to cancel even spoke to the manager to cancel because apparently I had to speak with him to cancel. He wasn’t always in when I called which made it more frustrating mind y’all this was a couple months back. Payed my buyout fee and it never got it cancelled apparently, so they were still charging me. Luckily the person I spoke to today tried refunding me a bit of the funds but still it’s ridiculous like to be back at this issue months after. Shout out to the worker that was actually helpful today.

Used to love this gym, didn't turn off my membership during COVID to support them in a time of need and encouraged people to go there before and after COVID. Thought I deactivated my account when I moved and just got a collections call for $37...pretty crazy considering I wasn't even living in the area when they're saying I wasn't there. Don't forget who supported your business when you had no income. Will not be going back or advising anyone else too.

SCAM! I used this gym a couple months back in 2020 when my regular gym was still closed. I closed out my account when my gym reopened and haven't been back since. Yesterday (March of 2022), I got a letter from a debt collections office saying I owe Prestige $128 and that this debt has been reported to credit reporting agencies. I have no idea what this is for, and the gentleman at Prestige that helped me said he sees nothing in the system. I also had not been contacted about an outstanding balance. Just trying to take your money and ruin your credit, so disappointing.

I have been a member for over a year and have been very impressed how the Club responded to the pandemic. Zach, the manager, is VERY helpful and professional. He has addressed my concerns with members who did not wear their masks properly during the "heat" of the pandemic. The club is extremely clean and the equipment is great. Sonny, the weekend employee, is extremely hardworking and more often than not I see him sweeping the floors, etc. when he isn't busy at the front desk. Impressive Club, especially for the membership price.

This gym is okay - the staff is nice, it's generally clean, the equipment is mostly functional and they do have pieces marked as "do not use" for COVID distancing.

Too bad they aren't on top of mask mandate adherence! There's the technicality Karen's wearing mesh masks (if she actually had medical issues, doctors wouldn't clear her to work out in a public space - miss me with that excuse) and a huge number of adult men whose masks don't cover their noses **for the entirety of their workout.**

I love this gym. I just recently signed up for a membership with Zach and he was very helpful and knowledgeable and welcoming which was nice because I wasn't very comfortable in that environment.
I signed up with a trainer (Ronnie) and he's been a ball of energy and a breath of fresh air. We sat down and figured out a program and plan of attack, he's fixed my form, and made me feel confident when I come in and workout alone! 10/10 recommend Ronnie to anyone!

Oh and to top it off, the gym was spotless and smelled clean plus everyone wore their mask and the staff did checks regularly !!

Went to Prestige Fitness in Lakewood to cancel my account and was referred to PeakServe.com. I paid for Prestige Fitness all year, while the gym was closed, and realized that they charged me an annual fee for a service I was not using. Based on the information on PeakServe.com, I do not have a contract with them. However, when I called PeaKServe, the woman on the phone let me know that I would have to pay the annual fee and the monthly fee as I had to provide a 30 day notice of my desire to cancel. I did not go after COVID to cancel, which is certainly on me. However, I have already paid more than necessary for a service I have not used and could not use for part of the year, and forcing me to provide 30 day notice prior to allowing me to cancel and forcing me to pay for an annual fee is not acceptable. If I am on a contract, I would expect that the PeakServe website would have shown this information. Since I am not on a contract, I would expect that the annual fee would be refunded because I did not use the membership once in the past year nor do I plan to use it ever again. The customer service is abhorrent.
The fact that I was not on a contract per their website but cannot cancel and be refunded for an annual fee because I have to provide WRITTEN 30 day notice is asinine.
AVOID Prestige Fitness, other reviews have the SAME complaints.

Edit : the new manager called me and personally apologized. He refunded me right away. It really meant a lot to do the right thing. It seems that they are going the right direction with the new management.

STAY AWAY! This gym is one of the worst gyms in all of CO. I went in to cancel my membership in October. I was given the excuse by the person at the desk about how they weren't authorized to cancel it. They said come back on the weekdays. I went in twice on different days on the weekdays. Same excuse. Management was never there. I got tired of their same excuse they use to steal money form people. They finally cancelled it. I have my email showing it was cancelled. I've been charged twice since October. I've tried to call but their voicemail is full. Probably on purpose as this gym has multiple ways of scheming people out of their money. Whatever you do, DO NOT GO HERE.

Great gym been going here for years. Even with covid and all the mandates I've been able to workout in a safe environment along with other members that follow cleaning protocol and never once have I had an issue.Dont worry about social distancing the gym has plenty of room and equipment for everyone to workout. Look forward to when all these mandates are done and we all can get back to a normal workout. Also in the near future the gym will be upgrading its equipment so I look forward to new workouts.

Leaving a review was a last resort, but here I am. I had an extremely unprofessional and petty interaction with an employee of this gym and I can’t seem to get anyone in upper management to hear me out. I tried to call and I was literally left on the counter for 15 minutes after they realized I wanted a corporate phone number or something. They clearly were unwilling to give me any information. I ended up calling Arvada (SO NICE AND HELPFUL) and that gentleman gave me an email to reach upper management. Days have gone by without any form of response. I’m going to give it a week but I’m very disappointed with the customer service of this gym. I’m hoping to hear back soon but if I don’t I’m going to leave another review with the details of my interaction. If they won’t care, their future/current customers will.

My wife cancelled our memberships on June 15, 2020. Both of our accounts were charged again today on July 15, 2020. My wife went in and spoke with Jorge the manager and was given every excuse for not refunding our money for the month of July, said we should have canceled THE DAY BEFORE on June 14th instead of June 15th and that's why we couldn't get our money back. She asked if she could be credited for the months that they were closed in April and May and again was told NO. We have been LOYAL members since 1997 and my wife was treated with no respect! She was given a number to the Prestige in Littleton in order to speak with Brad who we assume was the GM, she ended up speaking with another manager and was PROMPTLY REFUNDED FOR THE MONTH OF JULY! She was told that she should have been REFUNDED inhouse at the Lakewood location and JORGE had REFUSED!! NEVER WILL WE RETURN TO THIS LAKEWOOD PRESTIGE FITNESS LOCATION!!

Place was pretty cool for the price before the pandemic, but after the reopening there was unprecedented aggression from the gym owner when asking simple questions or for sanitation to be upkept. When trying to cancel my account, there was A LOT of miscommunication between what was said in the emails and online vs what was said from managers in terms of cancelling my contract. I cannot recommend this gym to anyone, especially when there are cleaner, friendlier gyms for the same price in the area.

Started going to the gym in February and really enjoyed my time there in the beginning. My brothers were able to give me enough confidence to start going to the gym frequently and work out with them. The staff was awesome and the atmosphere was very relaxed.
After Covid the whole staff changed. The new guy who runs the gym is very nice and respectable, but the issue is with the district manager. She was working out on the floor the second day they reopened and was abusive to both the members and staff. She would suddenly approach members (withought a face mask) and yell at people for no reason (most people didnt think she was part of the staff either). She asked my brother's and I if we were related and lived with eachother and then threatened to look up our accounts to see if we were lying. She than told us we essentially could not work out with eachother even though we were rotating and staying 6 feet apart (I watched her do this to a lot of members around the gym). When approached with questions about where equipment was or comments about sanitation she was very disrespectful and unhelpful telling guest to ask the other staff members and not her.
It is a shame that the gym ended up under such a repulsive district manager. I hope in the future she is replaced for both the staff and members sake. But while she is still attending the gym and continuing to disrespect members and staff I can not recommend this place.

TL;DR: District manager is rude and abusive to both the staff and members at this gym. While she is still employed at this company and attends the gym to work out I can not recommend going there.

Water Fountain has been down for several weeks. Also the gym trash is always filled in restroom. Wipes for sanitation have been empty. With the spread of viruses this year, you would think this would be top priority. Gym equipment will also be down for weeks at a time.

I come here 5x a week on average and everyone is super friendly. I joined this gym because its affordable and they offered childcare unlike other affordable gyms. *cough-planet fitness-cough*
The childcare staff is amazing and LOVES my son and they take great care of him. He's always so excited to go to "Play Care", as we call it.

I think some of equipment could use some love as far as maintenance goes, but the experience of the great staff, good selection of machines & weights, and the atmosphere (including other gym members) completely outweighs any cons the facility may have.

A really good gym for the price. I used to go here for about two years before I moved to the other side of town. The only reason I canceled my membership to prestige is because I can only work out in the middle of the night now due to my work schedule. The equipment is really good and almost all of it is not consistently broken like other gyms. There is a great selection to choose from depending on what workout you want to do. There's a large cardio section, free weight section, machines and free body workout area. I do not know what the fuss is all about in the negative reviews. You get what you pay for. It is the cheapest gym out there, every gym has all sorts of fees, you just have to make sure to do your research and ask before you sign up. I can tell you this, if you need gym solely for working out and having equipment available - this is a place to go! It's never busy, it is quiet and everyone is friendly. If you do not mind not having fancy amenities that you end up not using half of the time anyways - this is a place to go. It does the job for me!

I've had a membership here for about 3 years, and I've only stuck it out cause the location is convenient. The equipment/gym itself is fine, but the staff is terrible. If you plan on trying to get a billing statement for work reimbursement, don't waist your time here. It seems like every year it is like pulling teeth. Every employee you talk to says they will send it to you, and if you try to get it from then while your there, "We can't get our printer to work." This year has been the worst, I've been told by three staff members that "Oh, ya I'll make sure the billing statement gets e-mailed to you." Completely unprofessional, Pro Tip if any management from the Gym reads this, people care about money and getting it reimbursed from our employers...........what a surprise right?

So i signed up and they tell you that they offer a free fitness evaluation with a trainer. I set this up and was canceled on twice. The first time because something came up and the second because I was miss scheduled. Fine I will cancel and go to another gym. I called and canceled because I has already paid for first and last month so I will call the last month a loss. Well I was just charged again. When I called I was told that I canceled 13 days before billing instead of 15 days so the charge is accurate. I was told not only by the guy that signed me up but also the guy I canceled with that I would not be charged because I had already paid for 2 months ahead. when I signed up. After going through all of this I read some of the reviews on here. I should have done that first because this situation seems to be trending at this gym.

This gym is probably the worst I've ever been to. The gym itself is all redone and not bad at all! The problem is with the management and trainers. Little people, small minds. If you actually know what you're doing and can walk the walk, they will target you and make you feel it, trying to get you not to come back. I hope someone in upper management realizes this and that this is why membership numbers are so low!!!

I worked out here through a private trainer named Ila. Her background in the military and her training in the fitness field is amazing, When I was working out with her I felt so accomplished and felt I was in the right hands like Allstate. The gym is fairly large and has decent equipment. The pricing was fair as well. The only thing I wish it had is more gym classes and a sauna/pool area.

-1 STAR if they had it.....I CAN NOT stress how bad management is here!! I do not like writing bad reviews but i about had it already! I have not attended this Gym in over 5 months and i am still being charged! I call and they say they will reimburse me which its understandable but not for the 5TH TIME!! I am told a manager will call me back.... still waiting!! DO NOT waste your time here there are plenty of gyms around the area with better pricing than here. Lets see if i get a call back after this post.

Cancelled my membership 4 months ago in person, received an email today saying I still have the membership? Now they want me to prove the cancellation without any documents given to me from that cancellation

Love the gym. Better equipment than 24, cheaper than 24. The only thing you lose is a pool, sauna, and hot tub. Let’s face it, they’re expensive to maintain. Staff is professional too. I don’t know what these other yahoos are talkin about.

Gym is great. Staff is less than pleasant. Canceled my membership in October, still getting charged. Been in the store 3 times to get my money back and they go let's make sure you actually canceled, they find out I do, and then say they will contact HR. Last I checked, you have 10 days to refund me, not 63. If this issue isn't resolved this business will be reported to the BBB.

I love the machines they have available, the friendly staff, and the environment. They have quite a few benches for bench press and a few areas to do weighted squats in. That is sometimes hard to find with a cheap monthly membership gym! I haven't tried the classes, but I've heard from other members that they love them. I do wish they had longer weekend hours, but only because I love coming here so much!

Really ask about the fees before you sign up. They not only charge you your enrollment fee to sign up, but then they nail you with their "annual membership fee" 2 months after you sign up and they don't mention that when you do sign up. They make it seem like aside from your monthly payments, your enrollment fee covers everything until the following year. Really not worth the money if you ask my opinion. Over $200 to sign up for a gym is ridiculous. Planet Fitness is a lot cleaner than this place too.

Seems like a lot of select-rise machines break and take months to be fixed. They also took away a lifting platform with a squat rack - big mistake because they now they only have 4 true squat racks (2 Smith machines are other options) and there is usually a wait because people use the squat racks for stuff that can be done elsewhere. They also did not buy 35lb plates for free weights (bench/incline/decline/shoulder press)..weird choice but whatever I guess....I usually go early at 5am and its generally not busy and staffed by 1 younger lady who is nice. Top down I'm not sure this gym is headed in the right direction. Its a shame because they have a large space to utilize but can't seem to market correctly or keep customer retention high. Again, the Top down structure and attitude seems to be going the wrong direction.

I just canceled my membership. I am disappointed because it is by far the most affordable option for our family, and I enjoyed many of the classes. My cancellation and poor rating is because I left the gym in tears after a very inappropriate situation occurred for my young daughter. Thankfully I realized what happened and nothing occurred (and hopefully nothing would have occurred), however I don't have faith that the children's care at Prestige Fitness Lakewood can keep my children safe. The staff are kind but are not diligent, often on their phones or talking to each other...in this circumstance no one was paying attention to the development and had I not been there, I have no idea how long it would have taken them to discover this inappropriate situation, and I doubt that they would have informed me of the development.

Truth is the transition this facility/building had from it's former gym (Better Bodies) to Prestige did affect it's reputation to some. From them closing for almost two weeks due to asbestos to a lot of remodeling and I mean A LOT of remodeling. But that's all over. All the 1 star reviews are focusing on than and not in the now (which makes sense because the reviews were given in the past and not now). Currently the gym is a great place. All brand new equipment, Olympic lifting areas, a great green turf with tires and a sleep and all new cardiovascular. The facility is 90% complete and I truly enjoy training there.

Like asbestos? You'll love Prestige! They exposed their members to asbestos during construction. When it was uncovered and confirmed, they did absolutely nothing to notify members or provide any compensation. Avoid this place like the plague, unless you love lung cancer!

The potential for this gym is really amazing. Not only is it the cheapest price you will find for a gym ($9.95) a month, all of the equipment is brand new with everything and anything you could want. The gym is suited well for any style of lifting with free weights, cable machines, plate loaded machines, squat racks, Smith machines. If you get the chance I'd check this place out!!

Their management absolutely sucks. As another person has said they were closed on Friday morning with zero notice. I was there Thursday and received zero notice from anyone about them being closed which leads me to believe that they were in fact closed forcefully due to air quality issues and not for any other reason. I wouldn't be surprised if this place ends up being condemned by the city

If it were possible to give a -star review thats what I'd give this gym. My husband and I transferred to Prestige Fitness when they bought Better Bodies gym. The gym has been under construction about a year. Every month, they would promise only a little longer. In the last 2 weeks, they allowed the construction to render the gym unusable. When I decided to request a refund (we prepay our membership by the year) the manager decided to call other members over to "shame me" for making that decision. I was then threatened that if I wanted to come back to this gym, they would charge me more as a penalty. I have been patient with the construction that started in August 2015, we are now 1 month from swimsuit season, and the following pictures are what it looked like this morning.

***UPDATE 5/20/16

THE MANAGEMENT lied about refunding our prepaid membership, so we are stuck at this gym for a year. This morning they simply didn't open. According to an employee at a neighboring business, they were shut down due to air quality, and the quality was poor due to asbestos! Not only does this company not care about gym availability to it's customers, but they allow their customers to deeply inhale asbestos.

BEWARE: DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THESE PEOPLE! These personal trainers at Better Bodies are terrible! Not only are the trainers at this location incompetent and unavailable, they blatantly lied to me just to get me to sign up. After I signed up services promised to me were not delivered and trainers became unavailable. I seriously regret ever signing a contract. After having an issue with my account after a lie a personal trainer told me, I am given the run around. I wish I would have never fallen for the lies told to me by the trainer that signed me up, Joey. This company is obviously more interested in making the sale than creating lasting clients.
