Megan is helping with our donation food drive at Root. Several yoga students are bringing food to the studio to be donated to local food pantries.

Jessica Patterson is one of the most brilliant people with a lovely spirit that makes you feel at home when you look into her eyes. This studio is full of nurture, light, and joy. Highly recommend everyone and everything about this space.

Root is a refuge on the Westside of Colorado Springs. You won’t see a ton of ads or social media posts from them, but the teachers really know yoga—not just the poses, but the deeper philosophy and meaning behind the practice. The space is beautiful with a large fireplace/altar and a spacious and welcoming check-in area.

I rent the space for a monthly conscious dance practice, and the leadership team is sweet, supportive, and encouraging. It's an honor to dance in that sacred space and feel included in the Root community.

I really enjoyed my Iyengar session with Yogi Kara! I was wondering if I'd be able to do the class and learned so many adaptations. The class small, it was a good pace, and fun! Thanks!

I took a wonderful flow and focus class w Jessica while visiting CO Springs. I had the pleasant fortune to have a private class mid weekday morning. I really enjoyed the beautiful space and environment and Jessica’s teaching.

During my 14 years of yoga practice I have studied for perhaps half that time at Root and for almost all that time with Root teachers Peggy Berg and Gail Ackerman. I love the variety of classes and especially the feeling of community within the multiple Iyengar classes offered at Root.

I love coming to my Iyengar yoga classes at Root: Center for Yoga & Sacred Studies. All the teachers are well trained and certified and pay attention to the needs of every student. I love the clear instructions and attention to detail you can only find in an Iyengar yoga class. So thankful for yoga in my life!

I can’t believe how blessed I am to be part of such a loving space. I started my sound healing practice here several months ago and feel like this is my new home- a true authentic sanctuary of peace and healing. This is the definition of community and holistic healing.
Thank you Root Yoga!!♥️

I love teaching at Root. All the instructors here are really first rate. I’ve added some photos from my “Gentle Iyengar Yoga” class which is appropriate for people who have some physical issues that respond to a slower pace, or need modifications.

Today's 8 year anniversary Open House @ Root was magical! A beautiful assortment of classes and teaching styles (one with Live Cello!), a community autumn garland to decorate, many creative ways to support 3 different local non-profits, such an array of clothing, art, jewelry and books for sale... I was so grateful to be a part of the magic that is Root Center today! The teachers here are so supportive of modifying postures and making everyone feel included and cared for. Wow! THIS is what Yoga is truly about! Support. Community. Seeing, and Being Seen.

i have yet to find a place in the springs that honors the sacred practices of yoga like Root does. the variety of classes offered in such a genuine, loving, and devoted way are changing the lens of western commodified yoga and what people “think” these practices stand for and “should” look like. i am forever grateful for these walls, and recommend everyone to attend a class! donation based, zoom, and pay it forward classes offered!

The most wonderful community that is full of love and learning. Inclusive of all groups. Gentle and kind classes for all bodies. This is truly another home to me.

I live on the east coast, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience at this studio when I was in town visiting. Once the pandemic caused everything to go virtual, I was excited at the opportunity to be able to continue to take Root's classes from home. However, on multiple occasions the links on their site are bad (take me to nowhere or an error message) and when I have tried to get in touch with the studio (both via email and telephone) no one has ever gotten back to me. I am disappointed at the poor communication from Root's Yoga studio because I would like to continue taking their classes.

The experience at Root is phenomenal! I have gone through yoga teacher training here and I attend classes regularly; the education and classes provided are and were so amazing and I feel so grateful to be a part of the Root family. It is such an inviting, peaceful and joyful place to practice and be a part of a community. Jessica Patterson, the owner and lead teacher, is such a graceful and warm soul, her classes are sure to be an amazing experience as well as many other classes at Root. I highly recommend practicing at Root! You will not regret it :)

My instructor was named Kirsten at this location & I was completely not pleased with her teaching. If could leave anything less then a 1 star that would be what I would rate this instructor. Unprofessional and on time is not her best point. Would not recommend!!!!!

Yin Meditation, first yoga experience of my life. Instructor, Erica, made me feel completely comfortable. Relaxing atmosphere and setting; difficult practice. I felt good, if awkward, while working in class. Afterward...deep, soothing peace. Great experience.

Root is definitely my new favorite yoga studio. The location is nice, since you don’t have to worry about parking downtown or in Old Colorado City. The studio has a nice layout and an awesome practice space. To top it all off, my favorite teacher, Jessica Patterson runs it! She provides a deeper understanding of yoga that goes beyond just the physical benefits of the practice. Her chakra tuning workshops are an amazing experience and have made me want to further my understanding of yogic philosophy, and maybe even pursue teaching in the future. I’ve only made it to a few other classes at the studio, and so far they have all been great! Root has certainly put together something special here.
