The pool and hot tub were not that bad. Although one thing happened that has made me not come here, my daughter did the swim test, and they failed her because she couldn't float on her back. She did everything else very well though. I find it unacceptable to fail a child because they can't float on their back, and i truly believe if they can float normally, they will be fine.

TLDR: pool experience was a mess today, will stick to other areas locations for a while!

Pool has been really disappointing lately. When I asked this morning about the jets for the kids areas (tall jets, house splash area, water slide) I was told they are all broken. Random areas of the pool closed but not enforced to all patrons (my son and I were asked to move but another parent and a smaller child immediately swam there). Toddler girl today would only swim with her bottoms on, she was 4 maximum, and was immediately instructed to put a top on or get out. Parents put her top on but she cried the whole time. If the toddler-adult male are okay to swim without tops on, not sure why a toddler female is deemed inappropriate. Recommend to skip this location until they get it together.

Fantastic place, great staff, and they have made many improvements to the facility. I have been a member for 6 years and never had an issue; however, understand that it's near a high school, so you need to be mindful of securing your valuables.

Visiting this YMCA with my family was a horrible experience definitely felt out of place as a black man one particular older lady was very rude speaking to me like a child or my mother lady ; Iam 50 years old....not only that they didn't refund any money back for having a fire drill making everyone leave after just 30 min of swimming....$25
Wasted...my son was so hurt and upset never ever ever going to jet wing drive YMCA...teach your workers how to speak to people without judgement and rude racist profiling....wish i got her name
Disgusting 🤮
Too my black men ;if you ever visit this YMCA prepare to be judged by old Grandma who sit their and gossip about the way you look or mad you show them no attention stuck in the 1950s and stuck with that mind frame please update your workers because these little old ladies who are stuck in the ways they grew up and was raised no businesses greeting people with secret & hidden hatred!!!!

My wife and I have been members of this YMCA for about two years now. What first attracted us to the gym was the generous daycare allowance of two and a half hours a day. We joined when our first daughter was only six months old. We now have two girls, and bringing them here has been a really positive experience.

I would especially like to call out the Learn and Play staff. They are kind, attentive, and clearly care about the kids. We rarely get calls about any issues, which is something that stands out compared to what some of our friends have experienced at other gyms. Knowing our daughters are in good hands makes it so much easier for us to focus on our workouts.

The gym itself isn’t the most modern. Some weight equipment is a little older, and the layout could be improved, but it has everything I need and it gets the job done. The indoor pool is another amenity that we enjoy on the weekends, with a really cool kids area.

Overall, the YMCA has been a great fit for our family and I highly recommend it to other families with young children.

Miss Dawn and her team are, without a doubt, the heart of this gym. The care and love they show my children is truly unmatched. My toddler talks about Miss Dawn, Dyami, and the rest of the staff with such joy—and she’s always eager to come along to the Y. Over the past two years of attending this gym, I’ve never once had a concern about my kids’ safety or well-being while in their care.

When the weather is nice, they take the kids outside to play. Indoors, they dance to music, read stories, and create a warm, engaging environment for the little ones. They’ve also been incredibly gentle and attentive with my 3-month-old, calming her quickly and lovingly whenever she’s upset.

We are so grateful for the kindness, professionalism, and genuine care this team brings every day. They make a huge difference in our experience—and in our children’s lives.

(Also, shout out to Miss Jamie at the front desk. She is a gem.)

I got this membership so I can exercise in the warm temperature pool and use the hot tub. Seems like every 3 weeks one or the other can't be used. I live far from the Y. So I drive all the way there only to realize it's down again. So not only am I wasting money with my membership, I'm also wasting time and gas. Once I find another warm temperature pool I'm stopping my membership.

‼️ A PSA for momma's looking to go here for their gym daycare needs: DON'T 💀 ‼️

I used to go to this gym a lot in 2022 when my toddler was much younger and we used to really love this place because we thought it was the best YMCA at the time for young kids as the facility was catered more for parents with little ones since they have more child-centric activities and a better playground than some of the other YMCA locations. Coming back here in 2025, I was really excited to give this place dazzling reviews based off our last encounters but sad to say that was not the case 😞💔

The daycare quality has grown subpar compared to the other locations now which was really disappointing. While the daycare workers overall seemed nice, they also seemed a little clueless when it comes to making executive decisions at a moment's notice without a supervisor in the room in events of emergencies or special situations.

Our first day coming back since 2022 and it was chaos day one—despite advanced notice to one of the caretakers, they were unable to make proper accommodations for my nonverbal son to get some assistance in using the restroom and ended up soiling his pants while he was there and they didn't even tell me that he had an accident because apparently they didn't notice as they weren't supposedly allowed to help him in the bathroom at all because he was a few months past 3 years old. He's potty trained and was just unable to tell them he needed to help unbuckling his pants and they refused to go in and help him 🥲 they kept insisting they needed a manager to be allowed to go help him with that and there wasn't one working at that time so they just more or less ignored his cries for help. Like... Really? Lol a manager is REQUIRED for you to help a nonverbal 3 year old unbuckle his pants that you'd rather him wet himself if one isn't around to give you approval? 💀 I understand policy is a thing, but there's always exceptions and extenuating situations especially when children are involved and the employees' inability to flex even when we PREEMPTIVELY ASKED for help and notified the staff of his needs and situation just proves to say that they're more worried about being "politically correct" as to avoid being in trouble with management than they care about the well-being of the children in their care.

I've heard a bunch of parents complaining about this location since we restarted our membership in the beginning of the year and began going to the YMCA at Main, saying the daycare quality here just isn't the same as it used to be, with kids getting sick here all the time compared to the other daycare locations that YMCA operates and honestly? I can see why now. We've been going to the other YMCA branches and haven't had this kind of problem with my son as they've all been incredibly understanding and accommodating with his situation, even in the out-of-state ones. I was in shock and understandably upset by this and I would like to warn other families who're looking to get involved with this particular branch, especially ones with kiddos needing some extra help and assistance as this location would not provide you the support you joined (and pay!) the YMCA community for.

The gym itself is nowhere near as good as the other locations in town as this one is old, much smaller, and even after the renovations, is still behind in terms of modernity. The machines are dated and their vending machines almost never works 😵‍💫 The only (previously) redeeming quality of this location that made it standout was everything childcare related and since that too has gone straight to trash, there's really not much worth coming back to in this particular branch 🗑️

I am extremely disappointed and would likely not come back to this location again moving forward ⏩ I'm only giving it 2-stars instead of 1-star for the nostalgia of the past—made a lot of good friends here back in the day and it's a shame the current management was unable to upkeep that simple, yet quality and authentic atmosphere they had way back when 🙏🏻

My only issue is what they think is the correct protocol for passing a swim test.
Personally, the director of swimming either doesn't know how to teach propper floating or doesn't understand the point of learning to float. It's about energy conservation, not putting your feet and arms down in the water more.

Unbelievable waste of time! Nice facility but poorly organized. I am from out of state and called to see when I could swim. I couldn’t get through to anyone but a recorded message. So I drove there.

Upon arriving, I was informed that the pool had just closed (at 1:45 pm), meaning I had wasted my time and effort.
I then asked about the weight room and was told it was closed for remodeling

I suggest a gym or pool that values your time and provides clear, honest information.

The front desk staff stopped me on a holiday. Just trying to work out have a membership productive member of society, said we can’t let you in with you running your information through a database to make sure you’re not violent or a danger which my wife wasn’t asked to do this when signing up,being in Colorado being black is a culture shock. I have been to many other locations , Way to go with inclusion! Cancelled your staff at the jet wing location should be ashamed of themselves.

My review is only as a pool pass customer. And has also prevented me from a membership. I’ve been to this specific location about a dozen times in the last year with my grandchildren and NOT ONCE have they been able to go down that big tease of a yellow slide because it’s never been open when we’ve come and have been told several different reasons. So I research other locations and after spending around 50$ to get us in, there’s jazzercize in the wave pool and the heater was broke in the lazy river. But no one tells you that before you pay, so 2 kids froze and 2 didn’t swim for the 45 minutes they waited for the wave pool. If it was only swimming pools offered I would have honestly given 2 stars. I even asked if we could just have our money back but was told no since two of the children had gotten in the water how would they have been able to know that the heat was broke if they hadn’t have gotten in? Just crazy. So we waited until Jazzercise was over and swam for about 15 minutes to feel like we got some of our money worth

Membership is $130 plus for a family which is pretty pricey, esp when they are closing the play area and there is a specific lady with purple hair who has given us constant issues at child care, who in my opinion should be fired.
she does not understand how to work with kids and interact with them or even makes an effort to distract them so parents can leave, instead she lets the kids cry and then within 30 mins tells us to come get our child..and when picking up or dropping them off she seems to always have an attitude or be in a negative mood..this has been extremely frustrating when we pay so much for a membership and only have limited time to workout. I’ve taken our child to the fountain YMCA child care and have had zero issues there. Not a fan of having to pay so much just to deal with this. We will be canceling our membership soon and figuring out other options since they cannot manage to properly watch our child.
The gym is great but lacks diverse equipment, machines are limited, lots of cardio and cables but only one bench and 2 power racks, 1 leg press and lots of missing essential equipment.

The YMCA of Pikes Peak Region is a lovely gym/family gathering spot for all things.
The positives: Equipment and Classes and fun and inviting environment makes you want to go every day!
The negatives: I really had a struggle with the cost. We did a family of three and it was $130 a month with fees on the rise. This seems very steep to me. I was also not a huge fan of the 2.5 hours of daycare situation. Depending on who was on staff it seemed like my son wouldn't get enough of his needs met. I would pick him up and he would be very upset (appearing like he'd been crying a while) or the staff members would give me full inspection reports (even telling me about the safety issues with infants and hangnails.) It really was demeaning at times. Thirdly, the timing of the childcare does not align with their classes. The child center closes midday (which is great to keep things clean) however for our schedule just simply doesn't work.

We also did swim lessons from the Armed Services location and I swear one of the staff members was hungover, 15 minutes late and told us all about their staffing issues. It was real sad.

We ended up cancelling after 3 months simply because the negatives outweighed everything else.

I’ve been a member of this YMCA since it opened. Lately, it has not seemed as organized and clean as it was in the past which has been disappointing. The employees are polite, but have a hard time enforcing rules: examples are large groups of kids just playing and hanging out in the lap lanes and even playing ball in the lap lanes and 12–15 year olds and even younger kids in the hot tub without being accompanied by a parent or guardian. Also, children are using the adult only locker rooms and the disabled-family locker rooms are not all that clean. The upstairs exercise equipment has a lot of users. Suggestions: It may be helpful to consider using a reservation system for the exercise equipment and the lap swim lanes.

We love our family at the Y! My children always feel welcome, loved, and cared for in the learn and play. The ladies in there ROCK - Michaelyn, Yvonne, Dawn, Jacinta, miss Debbie, Kassi etc etc - we love them all! Thank you for making it possible for me to work out while taking care of my crazy kiddos. UPDATE: I also SOOOO appreciate that they have a wait-list when it's busy. It is a little inconvenient but I would much rather my children be safe and happy than overwhelmed with tons of children and too few childcare workers just so I can get my workout in.

The facilities are also very nice, especially the pool area. What's not to like??

There is a plethora of space for people to lounge and do homework and work. Why tear down the play area? There are already classrooms and a rock climbing area in the back. That play area is developmentally appropriate for those kids. Not everyone can abide to your minimal childcare hours during the day, this play area made the trip worth while. I wouldn’t be surprised if you get a handful of complaints and membership cancellations.

Don't take away the play place for a public computer lab. Not fair to the members who pay a large amount to have a place to play for their kids. This is not a public library. Not safe for any of the members due to the increase in homelessness. If you want to provide a public computer lab, find another building or sponsor a library. AND if you are going to provide free services at all, it should be to help the public get moving. To increase health and wellness in the community.

Source: Google

Kayla Devine

★ 1

We love this YMCA. Well did. The choice to close down the play center to replace it with a computer lab open to the public is disgusting. There is plenty of libraries in the area for that. The fact that you are allowing the general public to just walk in and be in the computer lab across from the daycare is not okay. Whether or not you run background checks, staff doesn’t always stay on top of it. The ymca is supposed to stand for healthy living, no part of sitting in front of a computer is healthy. It’s not moving anyone’s bodies like you preach. Might as well do pizza parties and call yourselves Planet Fitness 2.0. Plus the turn over rate is terrible. I miss the old daycare crew. The true gem in there is Miss Debbie. She needs a raise. All of our favorites have I’m assuming quit. This ymca needs to do better. The pool rules also need to be re-evaluated for anyone that chooses to keep their membership after they tear down the play center. The fact a 6 year old can’t go into water that is waist deep without a parent is also ridiculous.

We enjoy the YMCA and everything they offer but I was very disappointed to see how unprofessional the lifeguard on duty was. This was yesterday 6/19 after 4:00 at the jet wing location. I’m not sure if she was just having a bad day but she seemed to be a little unhinged. It was concerning. She couldn’t control her emotions around the kids there. If we’re going to be working with families and children, especially around the water, I think it’s best for everyone’s safety to make sure we’re mature enough and in a good headspace… The yelling, screaming and crying was uncalled for. Madison (I’m not sure what her job title is) but she did very little to defuse the situation.

I'm so tired of getting all the way to the gym to find out that the lap pool is closed for kids classes, lifeguard training, or whatever else is going on that day. I've had to turn around and go home three or four times now because there is nowhere to swim. The pool is small enough as it is, with only four lap lanes. 1. All the handicap parking spots should be clearly marked with signs and/or painted decals, not just the first one. We are always competing with the parents that are picking up their kids who think they can park in the handicap spots.
2. I would like to have NO news channels on the T.V.s. Just non-political stations please! Cooking, home improvement, gardening, etc. I'm surprised that this has not been done already with the current political climate that we are all experiencing.

This is the local YMCA that I like to visit. I primarily use the YMCA for swimming and strength training, for triathlons. The pool at this YMCA is never crowded, I have always been able to find a lane. Lap swimming doesn’t begin to 12 PM and goes until closing. The staff is incredible, everyone has been extremely friendly and helpful to me during every visit. The crowds within the gym are minimal, so if you don’t like to work out around a lot of people, this is a great YMCA location.

The fact that we pay for services like learn and play but don’t get to use them because the slots are always taken is trash. Plus being in the military makes it hard to schedule a time slot to go cause you never know if your going to make it in time or if at all... It’s was nice a few years back when we could just come and drop them off if we got time off of by work made it definitely worth paying for. But not anymore..

Disappointing. They have a great pool with water slide and rarely is the slide in operation. When the slide is on, it runs for less then 15 min. What a waste.

We moved to Colorado Springs in March and wanted to find a good family gym. We went to many and this was the perfect fit. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The daycare is AMAZING. It does go up to the age of 6 but after that your children can hang out upstairs my daughters usually do and there is no issue. They do have an amazing pool but it has been closed
Due to covid and now as I’ve been informed understaffed. And that is totally understandable. As many places are. Over all I have gone to 3 YMCAs here in Colorado Springs and this location is by far my favorite.

The worst YMCA I have been to.
Never had a problem dropping off my kids, niece and nephew in any YMCA facilities till I came there. When I was trying to figure out how they could help, they told me there was “absolutely no way” (word to word), and sent me away with the kiddos. Than their manager called my YMCA telling that I moved to Colorado (!!!!!! Is it a joke? Why do they call on my behalf?????). I am temporary staying here because my sister lives here, and come pretty often.
Not sure what is going on there. Seems Karen got bored and find the ways to entertain herself since there is not much going on in their gym. Pool is closed, very few classes with not such great instructors, childcare provided only for kids up to age 6 (so, 2 of my kids suppose to wait in a hallway, and for other 2 times are available only in the morning or evening, plus the twins are turning 7 soon and will be kicked out to the hallway as well). Never had such problem in my state, and I have been a member for many years! In Colorado membership doesn’t worth money at all!
Get membership in Vasa or other gyms, my sister enjoyed classes in Vasa, decided to try YMCA and it has been a nightmare (for all of us!)

I am only giving a one star because there is no other option. I have come to the YMCA so my daughter can do swim lessons and we have a pool to go to and other activities to do. This YMCA seems to follow the rules for some people, but not all ,so of course the ones they don't follow the rules for are gonna say this is a great place. Right now this is my only option because of location and price I am very disappointed .It is sad that my daughter can't really do anything at this ymca until she is 7 years old. I have talked to directors and they don't seem to care. The only one that did care was drew who is no longer there. They don't do anything to please you they would rather just take your money or lose a customer.

It's a very nice looking location. It would be better if they had ellipticals that actully worked and were up to date. All the ellipticals I have ever used (every single one) has loud noticable kinks. Making it difficult to have a full 30mins on the machines. Also I think with how much the memberships are ($150. Fpp) they should at least put more money into their equipment.

Super Disappointed! I was so excited to get up and go swim to this morning. With a 3 month old, a two year old, and a full time job, finding time to squeeze in just 30 minutes for my own self care is a miracle. I was so excited getting up this morning to get to swim. I even double checked the website to make sure the pool opened at 5:30, meaning I did actually have time to go while the babies were still sleeping, before the start time of my normal routine. I was so proud of myself for making a commitment to me and following through

I get there, swim 2 laps and am told they have to close the pool because a life gaurd is a no call no show. I litterly cried from the disappointment. How un-professional. I was told they might still be on vacation? How does it happen that a manager doesn't confirm someone's vacation time before making a schedule?

They list integrity as a value on their wall, I'm sorry but there is no integrity in employees and managers not following basic business practices of making sure that services are open and available to paying coustomers when they are supposed to be.

I will say that the life gaurd that was there and the other Gentelman at the front desk we're very kind and patient with my disappointment. I could have done without the eye rolls from the young woman working the front desk, they were not helpful at all.

This place has been great for me, which is why I’m giving it a 5 star. However, a few bad apples have attempted to damage my reputation based off their own insecurities. Things I will address here, in the publics eye. The ymca values are Respect, Caring, Honesty and Responsibility. Unfortunately some of their employees aren’t held to their standards.

Let’s talk about the rumors and slander employees are allowed to spread here:

Caleb and William(lifeguards) have had an issue with me since I started coming here. They claim that I hit on their life guards and flirt with every woman in the building. The problem with that, my degenerative friends, is that I speak to everyone regardless of age or gender. I’m social and this is suppose to be a community center meant to meet new people.

There are a few other life guards who have an issued with me but I won’t mention their names.

The truth is; Caleb and William lack the confidence to have conversations with strangers so they project that insecurity onto me to damage my reputation and feel better about themselves. They are severely insecure. Having spoken to dozens of other members I know that these two are disliked by a large portion of regulars who come here; They speak down to members, power trip and spread rumors. Funny, I know - they’re just life guards, but believe themselves to be in a position of power.

These two do not uphold the ymca core values. Respect, Caring, Honesty and responsibility. As well, what they’re doing in legal terms is called defamation.

One of the female employees here has been crushing on me hard since we met. She recently filed an incident report stating that she feels uncomfortable around me after asking about a hairstyle she was wearing and that I purposely knocked a bunch of towels on the ground in the gym area. They have cameras all over the place yet she still decided to lie. She certainly didn't find it offensive when she was invading my personal space. She can’t have me, and she knows it. I've been avoiding her like the bubonic plague for the last few weeks. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

This woman has a history of lying about coworkers and members, yet it will still be her word against mine.

She does not uphold the ymca core values. Respect, Caring, Responsibility and Honesty. I won’t mention her name as I’ve gotten use to women over reacting when faced with rejection.

People like these three make it hard to be a good person. I can see now why there is so much selfishness and hate in the modern age.

This is a community center that doesn’t support socializing with people in your community. Employees will spread rumors, damage your reputation and nothing will be done about it. They have a problem with people like me, but when someone comes here and starts yelling at someone at the front desk, they still allow that person to enter and use the amenities offered. The ymca itself doesn’t uphold it’s own values; Content with allowing people to be treated like garbage for a few bucks.

If you decide to come here, keep to yourself and you’ll have a great time using everything they have to offer at a cheap price. Unfortunately if you are the social type, you will be treated as an monster for doing nothing but talking to people.

Keep your head down, God forbid you be who you are.

There is much more to be addressed but I'm out of room.

Huge fan of this location. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The workout equipment is always clean and in good working order. Like any gym sometimes things break down in that case the SE Y gets it fixed pretty quickly. I love the pool here and the lifeguard are top notch. The child watch center employees are some of the most amazing people in existence. This is a great place to work out with fantastic workout buddies who are knowledgeable and keep you on pace. Worth it!

This rating is in regards to the spring outdoor soccer program and not the ymca as a whole.
My child has participated in a number of youth sports for the younger age group and it has been plesent. But this year with soccer it was the opposite. There were way to many kids that the coaches spent more time keep them together than actually doing anything. Each week was wasted with a lot of standing around to where the kids looked bored. Previous years we had coach Ben and he was amazing with them he interacted, learn names, and actually tought them new things in the sport. The coaches this round had no real interest in teaching them anything they did the same two things every week and the kids barley focused. It took them 15 minutes each week to even start doing anything with them. Over all the program has potential and could use some major improvement. Mainly splitting the younger kids up in smaller teams or groups for a better coach to kid ratio.

Pool area doesnt have arm floats for you to use for the babies.(even tho every other y does) the pool was completely empty when I went, and since the lifeguard didnt have nothing to do, she harassed me. Asked me a million one questions that were none of her business. Wouldnt let me take a picture of the kids. Then she started standing by us as if she was monitoring our every move. And then had the audacity to ask me if I have a membership? And if I was the parent of the kids i was with. I had to leave !

I don’t know how other ymca’s work but this one is ridiculous. If you have kids I highly recommend not coming here. They consistently do not follow their own policy’s for where kids can be and what they can do. Or they make up thier own policy to fit the situation and try and enforce it for a few days then go back on it. If you don’t have kids I’d recommend going to a real gym with better equipment and no hassle of thier silly policies like shoes for deadlifting, no chalk, no bags etc

My 3 children and I swam here all summer last year and it was great. This summer we come in to swim and I'm told there has to be 1 adult for every 2 kids, so since I have 3 we can't swim unless I can get another adult to swim with us. It's crazy that they not only don't have any faith that a mother will keep her own children safe, but they also have no faith in their lifeguards, or the swim lessons my kids took there last year. Plus I offered to keep the puddle jumper float vests on them the entire time.

I give this Y a 5 stars because they have TONS of fun things for my kids to do. I do, however have a complaint against the swim class instructor. Every Y I visit has toys ect that my kiddos can play with. Tonight while visiting this location my daughter noticed a bucket of toys that were not being played with. She tried to get one dive ring and was told she could not use it. Apparently the toys were there for the swim class. Okay, no problem. If they are being used in the class I get it, however, the swim instructors were just sitting around not using any of the toys. My daughter politely asked if she could use just one of the 10 or more toys they had and were not using. She was turned down while we continued to watch them not being used. I am a full paying patron. We do not get any type of discount to be members of the Y. I find it rediculous that we pay over 100 bucks a month only to be told we cant use the toys in the facility. We usually go to the Memorial location or the Briargate location and have never had any issues. Shame on you Kahleeya (spelling) for being so rediculous.

The YMCA is quite nice and has alot to offer the only negative is some of the people who use the gym around 1030 am and 1130 am they either don't wipe the machines after use or the fact that the same ones never put away the weights they use. Than there is the issue of some people using multiple stations at one time. They act like they own the gym, I wish I could blame the male patrons. But it seems that it's some of the women patrons. There just seems to be a lack of gym etiquette by some. The one positive is the staff at the YMCA they are both helpful and polite. The atmosphere is great here.

The child watch is a huge disappointment. We pay a good amount of money every month and I would like to know while I am working out that I have nothing to worry about when it comes to my children but that is not the case here.
We recently became members and we put our youngest in child watch. There were babies and 7 year olds in the same little room with a crazy amount of screaming children and only two workers who were not "overly friendly."
My baby was left in the car seat the entire time also.
I have worked in child care for many years and this is not how this program should be ran. I am now wanting to drive out a little to another Y to see if there child watch is better.
Please make some changes so that the parents that are paying into the facility can workout worry free.

Nice place but there sure are a lot of unnecessary rules and it just was absolutely no fun because of all of the rules. It was pretty pricey for a place that won't let you do a whole lot once you get in. There's rules wherever you go but they seem to be excessive at this place. The employees also didn't have family friendly music on. It definitely was not appropriate for the ages of the kids that were in there. It was however a very clean nice looking place, they seem to take good care of the facility and care about how it looks.
