100% the place to climb in the springs. The location is historic, having hosted US Nationals back in the 90's. The space is modernized now, and the setting is top notch. Interesting movement, good hold selection, and almost every tool you can think of for warming up/working out. Run by dedicated climbers, for climbers!

This gym has such a good vibe and atmosphere, while providing high quality climbing for all skill levels! But it's also priced really well! There's another gym, no need to mention it, that has a worse setting and a sterile corporate like atmosphere, and is more expensive!
Springs Climbing Center is the place to be!

Best gym in town. Owners are involved with every aspect of the gym. Not sure there are many other gyms that have owners that you will see climbing amongst everyone else on a weeknight. Often donβt have soap in menβs bathrooms.

I wanted my ten year old grandson to experience rock climbing and I chose Springs Climbing Center because they have a great deal for a private lesson package. The 1 hour private lesson included the cost for the rental of the shoes for that visit and a day pass to come another day for my grandson to try out his new skills. The instructor was amazing. She was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. I was extremely impressed! I plan on taking my grandson back when he comes to visit again.

The gym is very well maintained. It is extremely affordable too. There is a few "top ropes" but they're rather short. This gym is basically bouldering. And it's the best in the city at that. I have seen climbs around v11 regularly and I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple harder than that. And there's enough underhangs and slabs to keep you pushing yourself.

Best bouldering gym! The routes are phenomenal. SCC is an inclusive gym that takes shorter climbers into consideration and sets routes that are achievable for climbers of all heights. There are also a small number of auto-belay climbs (6) however, it's clear to see that bouldering is their specialty. Only downside is that the gym lacks proper ventilation and it occasionally smells like feet in there in addition to a fine layer of chalk covering nearly every surface.

Not the cleanest gym. Parking is a little limited.
Most hold are dirty or very very greasy, other gyms in the area are much cleaner and free of chalk.
They have a lot of modern training equipment however.
The walls are only auto belay, and the routes on the wall are okay, when I asked the guy at the front about the grading he admitted he didnβt know what was on the walls at that time or their grading.
The walls are okay, bouldering was nice, lots of routes.

I don't live in Colorado Springs, but if I did this would be the gym I would go to. In fact I've been driving from Boulder to come a couple times a month. I used to go here but took a long hiatus from climbing. They have added so many bouldering walls since I left! They did however remove one of the top roping walls.
The gym is very bouldering-focused. At my current level of fitness (pretty low) there were four V1s I could manage and two 5.5 top rope routes. I would say it's somewhat beginner-friendly, but doesn't have truly trivial beginning routes for people that might need a lot more work on their strength, endurance, and flexibility, as I needed when I first started climbing.
Overall it's a great gym, so long as you understand that there is a focus on bouldering and more advanced climbers will tend to get more out of it.

Very cut and dry indoor rock climbing gym. Ive been rock climbing for about 1 year now and I felt like there was a ton of fun and interesting problems for me to tackle as a semi beginner climber. I brought a first time rock climber to the gym and he found it to be a very enjoyable gym experience. Only downside I saw was the space on the wall got cramped at points with other guests but that is just based on me going at the more busy times.

I'm very impressed with this gym. It's a good mix of modern and traditional bouldering. There were many different styles of problems and styles of holds. The walls, volumes, and holds have course texture. There's a lot of different equipment for training and the building has history. There's a signed Chris Sharma poster on the wall. There is a really cool comp wall with three grades, and even the easy grade had excellent setting. Generally the setting in the gym was gratifying. The problems flow nicely and could be projected in a session at your grade level. The other folks in the gym are super friendly, from beginners to advanced, but mainly a cool crowd. The staff was kicking around a soccer ball and there was a cute dog. There is good music and good atmosphere. I've been to about 50 climbing gyms and this is easily in my top 5. Will definitely go out of my way for this gym in the future. When I bought a day pass, A+ for not asking if I needed rental gear (can't believe I have to say this). Cheers.

I recently found myself deep into the rock climbing YouTube. My girlfriend and I decided to give it a try and have come to Scc 3 times now. The staff was super friendly and helpful. As we had no idea about the shoes and had to try on a few set to get a good feel. (Sorry about that) We were a bit lost trying to find the easier routes. I think a few more signs with the grading system would be a bit helpful for the noobs like myself. After some googling and some searching it was relatively easy to find some beginner routes in the gym. Thank you for being friendly to us and not scowling the noobs. Much love

I'm not a member here, but decided to have my kids bday party here. We had 11 kids- 7-12 year old, at this party and things went fabulous. SCC kept everything low key, had some of the best rates I found for the party, and the most flexible numbers for how many kids I could have. The staff basically let my kids figure out for themselves what to do, but were available for help if needed. They provided a small room in the back for the presents, donuts, and drinks (I was able to bring in all my own food) and were really easy going about how long my kids stayed in the harness and climbed as long as we were respectful of all the members. I would def recommend this place for any party or get together.

I tried a few of the climbing gyms in the Colorado Springs area before deciding on SCC as my home gym. I absolutely love the atmosphere: great music, friendly staff, new routes all the time, and all of this for a great price! My partner and I tried to get a family membership, and the front desk person said we have to be married to be considered a family. We are common law married, but he wanted us to share the last name. Not everyone decides to take their partners last name.. and not every family has to be married. Why would a business define who is and is not your family?

It's a great gym for bouldering. But there is little, to no mask enforcement for Covid-19 rules. I've been here few times since August and nobody enforces people to keep their mask on. I've seen people boulder the entire time without their mask on in view of the front desk and nobody ask them to fix it. So if you want a good bouldering gym this is the place. If you are nervous about covid-19, stay away.

I love this place. The pricing is great (pretty low starting price + many discounts), and the facility is fantastic (mostly bouldering, though a bit of toprope). All the holds are high quality, the homemade walls are great, and the routes are creative and bountiful. The community is extremely encouraging and supportive - no matter the skill level of the climber, or whether they frequent the gym or not, you'll always see people cheering eachother on. Plenty of routes for beginners and advanced climbers alike - mostly V1's through V10's though I've seen a few V11-13's. The employees set a new section of the gym every week, so the routes are very fresh and you definitely won't get bored if you climb here a lot.
The owners of the business climb at the gym all the time (it seems like that's all they do) and they're all extremely chill (which is probably why the place as a whole is as well). I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough.

Climbing areas are decent, but the gym area hasnβt been cleaned in the couple of months since I joined - which makes me worry about the hygiene of the facility overall. Pretty filthy - equipment is sticky and thereβs no wipes to wipe things off after youβve used it. Floor is dirty, making it not ideal for doing ab work. Actual workout equipment is limited - benches and fitness machines are outdated. I donβt recommend this place if your gym regiment is just as important to you as your climbing regiment. I will update this review if more of an effort is made around cleanliness and updating the gym area.

I was a member from 2013 β 2015 and again 2016-2019. I canceled my membership last month for personal reasons. Here's my 2 cents:
Routes - The routes are fun and challenging. One of the key route setters left a bit ago, so a lot of the setters are new. Because of this, the ratings have been debatable recently. Trust your judgement over the route's rating. Holds get greasy quick.
Safety - Lacking. Holds sometimes twist mid route. Happened to me throughout my 4+ years climbing there. Saw a hold literally rip off the wall, but that only happened once, to my knowledge. The work out area is regularly flooded with under aged kids who are usually not monitored and goofing off.
Community β Overall, very welcoming and you can always find friendly folks. The SCC also holds member appreciation nights, which are a blast. There is an elitist group of climbers in the gym that are unfortunately given special treatment. Rules and updates to the gym are based on their opinions, which can be frustrating to other long-time members not associated with this clique.

I went to CityRock and the Springs Climbing Center and my favorite experience was definitely with the SCC. The community was extremely welcoming and kind to beginner climbers and the staff were willing to help with any issues I had. The gym feels local and overall very welcoming. I did not have the same experience at CityRock, I experience rude staff and rude people, it felt like I was walking into an alien planet with no help for anything. I would absolutely recommend SCC for beginner or really good climbers!

SCC is primarily a bouldering gym and their building lacks the vertical space for long rope routes, but their bouldering is some of the best you will find in the US. The staff is very friendly, accepting of all skill levels, encouraging, and willing to share advice or suggestions. New routes are set weekly and are color-coded, which helps a lot when you are on the wall. The setters are very talented, creative, and good at setting for a broad spectrum of skills and abilities (i.e. they don't set just crimps or slopers); the difficulty and variety of routes is well balanced (i.e. roughly the same number of easy climbs as hard climbs). I credit SCC for getting me hooked on climbing because my first few visits were so positive.

My wife, 4 kids(3,6,7,9) and I just had a blast today! We spent about 4hours here until the younger kids started to get out of control, so we decided it was time to go otherwise we would have closed the place! We definately plan on getting an annual Family Pass when taxes come in. Even with the unruly kids and some screetching from our youngest, the staff and other patrons just smiled at us and assured us that the kids will learn after the excitment calms down and they start focusing on their next send. All in all we haven't went to any of the other climbing gyms with the kids but I don't really see the need to!
