GLP is not just a gym, it's a community. I've been to my fair share of gyms and workout groups over the years and nothing has been as motivating, caring, and wholesome as Golden Life Project. The coaches there care a great deal for you as a person, not just your performance. They're accepting and encouraging of all shapes, sizes, genders, and abilities. Small classes help you get more personalized attention. AND if you love just hanging out, they have all kinds of community events happening. Great new space too. If you're ever on the fence about where to workout, I highly recommend getting a taste of the Golden Life

The GLP is such a special place. It's a gym that offers small group functional fitness coaching sessions (like group fitness classes but more individualized support and weightlifting). Beyond just the workout, though, there's an incredible community of people that is so supportive. We cheer each other on and hold each other accountable. With your membership, you get a monthly 1:1 session with a coach where you can talk about habits and goals you have in any area of life/health (not just exercise), and coaches check in with you throughout the month on your progress--they really care about you and your well-being. If you're looking for a community that supports your whole well-being (while giving you some great workout sessions along the way), the GLP is the place for you!

Unmatched 1:1 coach support but also in a functional fitness group class setting. The community is one of a kind, so welcoming. I struggled to return to multiple gyms in Lafayette, but the GLP has motivated me in a way that's unmatched. The programming's challenging enough but not enough to run you out the door or demotivate. Every single coach is aware of modifications I need, and they ACTUALLY pay attention class after class and thoughtfully address limitations I have. Would recommend to anyone intimidated by fitness community or those who want a challenge as well!

I’ve been a part of numerous gyms and nothing holds a candle to this one. The programming, coaches, owner, community, positive encouraging atmosphere are some items on the long list of things I love so much about the Golden Life. I’ve never “enjoyed” going to a gym until I became a member of the golden life. I love it and look forward to it. I also love that this community is for all abilities. If you’re debating a gym, give this one a taste. It’s the absolute best.

There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to fitness, nutrition, and mental wellness, and the Golden Life Project gets that. When I first started with Coach Kari in early 2021, I was 1 year post-partum, a vegetarian who hated to cook (still true!), with a husband who traveled for work for upwards of a month at a time. So a traditional gym environment and the usual muscle-building meal plan wasn’t going to work for me. Kari spent countless hours helping me figure out what worked best for ME when it came to my workout plan and my nutrition. She also spent time helping me enhance my mental wellbeing through discovery of my values and reshaping of my perspective. (As mentioned, I was post-partum, but also between jobs and in the midst of the pandemic.) Without Kari’s guidance during this challenging time, I don’t think I would have the quality of life I have today, both mentally and physically.
I worked with Kari for one year in person, and then when we moved out of state, Kari accommodated my schedule by shifting to a virtual coaching model. She checks in with me at the beginning of each week to determine my needs and provides a customized workout plan for the week. Because I work out at home now, I don’t have all of the amenities that the GLP has at its facility so Kari is always mindful to include tips on how to use the gear I have to perform certain workout moves, and she always includes a video that shows what good form for each move should be. I’m approaching 40 (eek!) and a mom of 2 and I can safely say I’m in the greatest physical and mental shape of my life. Thank you, Kari!

5 stars is simply not enough. What Kari has created is truly one of a kind. I had settled on the fact that I would never be someone who enjoyed working out. I thought that I would forever have to drag myself to workouts. All of that changed the first time I stepped into the GLP. I immediately felt welcome and at home. I could tell that the coaches and members all truly care about who walks through the door. The attention from the coaches is incredibly personable. I know that if my form is off, they will notice it and help me fix it. I know that I’ll be met exactly where I am at each day. I have yet to experience a gym where you get as much 1:1 attention as you do at the GLP. I HIGHLY recommend Kari and the Golden Life Project.

The GLP is more than just a gym and Coach Kari is so much more than a trainer! I have limitations and she has worked with me every step of the way. I have gotten more out of 4 months at the GLP than I did from 2-3 years of physical therapy. The community is the best!

Kari has created a thoughtful, creative, progressive and nurturing community for our best selves. The coaches are very intuitive and meet you where you are (on a meh day or 'feeling pumped.' day). The classes are intentionally programmed, with a variety of focuses (conditioning, lifting, agility, body weight, gymnastic, HIIT) for members and always scaled to meet our needs. I've had two knee surgeries in the last two years and Kari has programmed personalized strength and mobility workouts, taking input from my physical therapist and orthopedist. In regards to the community, the members and leaders bring so much character, generosity and encouragement. With monthly events to open up your mind, soul and creativity, the Golden Life Project is truly a place to grow and open yourself up to new opportunities - physically and mentally!

GLP is such an awesome addition to Old Town Lafayette! I've worked with Kari for a few years, this new location is perfect and the workouts are always great! The Golden Life Project Coaching and Community Center (GLPCCC) feels like home to me.
Everyone is so welcoming, supportive, empowering and encouraging. I love working out there, getting work done in their adorable workspace, and connecting with people on the social nights.
6 months ago I broke my back in an accident. Coach Kari has been instrumental in my recovery; she worked with my physical therapist and developed exercises that work within my doctors limitations as they change over time. I am stronger, more flexible and feel better in my body than I have in a long time. Thank you Kari and the GLPCCC!
