After hearing about all the great things happening at Upward Fitness Studio, I contacted Ryan about a virtual fitness program since I don’t live in the Greeley area. The program Ryan set up for me through the app they use is easy to follow and just right to challenge my fitness level. The app is set up to read all of the stats from my Fitbit and if I have any issues or questions I can contact Ryan right through the app. If you are looking for a personal trainer I highly recommend Ryan and Upward Fitness Studio. *Weak knees* Ryan has really helped me understand my body. I came in looking for help with explosive movments; everytime I would try to jump or jump down from even a short height, my knees and ankles flet like they were going to give out. Ryan head my concerns and goals, and produced a program to slowly get my mind and body on the same page. I'm now jumping up and down 30 inches with no pain or instability.

I LOVE this gym!! My trainer, Hannah, knows how to motivate and push me to meet the goals I have for myself. She helps me eat healthy and has even pushed me to eat foods I haven't ate before. The exercises never get dull or repetitive. All of the trainers are so friendly and motivating! After 9 weeks I have seen such a change in energy and body size. You will not be disappoint coming to this gym!

I can’t say enough good things about Ryan and the entire crew at Upward Fitness. After losing most of my muscle due to a tough stretch of health issues, followed by a serious car accident, I was starting from square one. We had to go slow, and every week came with a new pain or limitation—but Ryan never missed a beat.

He’s incredibly knowledgeable, always ready to pivot the plan based on how my body’s feeling, and makes you feel safe and supported no matter where you’re at in your journey. He pushes you when you need it, encourages you every step of the way, and somehow makes the process enjoyable—even when it’s hard.

I’ve also had the chance to work with all the other trainers at Upward, and they’ve all been equally awesome. The vibe here is just solid—uplifting, professional, and full of people who truly want to see you win.

Ryan and team are amazing! This review is long overdue… they have been instrumental in helping me transform from 305 lbs to my current weight under 240 lbs in 4 months. I still have a way to go but I’m confident that I’ll get there with their support. They have been able to tailor my workouts around my various aches and pains so that I’ve been able to keep my muscle while losing fat.

Bowling became my “thing” about a year ago, so I set off to find a trainer who could help me get healthy while improving my pin crushing skills. A quick Google search led me to Ryan at Upward Fitness and it’s the best bit of Googling I’ve ever done. He’s very knowledgeable, cares enough to personalize my time in the gym and provides the gentle accountability I need to accomplish all my goals. I’ve tried a ton of things over the years to get healthy and nothing has stuck. When I sat down to talk with Ryan about my fitness goals, I told him I want to run long distance again. A couple of years ago, I fractured my left patella, was in an immobilizer for over a month, and then had months of physical therapy. There was such a huge difference in the size and strength of my legs and so much instability in my left leg afterward that I couldn’t run comfortably. I’ve been working out with Ryan for two months now. We set some goals, and he has led the way with his expertise toward reaching them. Last night, for the first time in years, I ran two miles! It feels so good to be at it again, and I know I’ll be running races in 2025!! His workouts have also helped improve performance and endurance in my physically demanding career. I feel strong, healthy, and confident. I’m so thankful for Ryan. He’s an incredible and knowledgeable personal trainer, awesome cheerleader, and even better human. Looking forward to the new year and new goals!!

I highly recommend Ryan McIvor as a personal trainer. Ryan is genuinely invested in each of his clients. His scope of knowledge is amazing & he’s great at listening yet challenging you. The results are in the numbers, as I have seen steady positive gains in muscle mass! For years I worked to add muscle mass and within three months of working with Ryan was able to start seeing results. I have not re-injured my rotator cuff in over a year which used to be a chronic issue when exercising! Ryan is very personable and easy to communicate with. What a great gym! Love the friendly, down-to-earth community that welcomes newbies & veterans alike. Ryan meets folks where they're at. They take care to teach proper form, modify workouts to fit individual needs, etc. No judgment here, no pressure to prove anything. At the same time, there's always an open invitation to push yourself. These workouts are sick. I didn't know my body was capable of some of this stuff especially post partum. Prepare to be challenged in the best way with Ryan.

Three years ago, I decided to talk with Ryan about helping me get past some knee and back issues while lifting. I felt I was strong and in pretty good shape from doing CrossFit but wanted something more and needed help to improve my overall technique and strength in my squats. When I started working with Ryan, I could only back squat around 135 lbs with knee/back pain. With lots of work on technique and tons of accessory work for my knees and core, I am now able to back squat 360 lbs with little to no knee/back issues! I have competed in 3 powerlifting competitions and Ryan writes the best programs to get you there! Ryan is very good at knowing how to push you, he knows what you are capable of and has pushed me beyond what I ever thought I could do! I highly recommend Ryan and Upward Fitness Studio for whatever your needs/goals are!

This gym and it's owner are amazing. The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly. The owner takes time to talk to you about your interests and goals. When you come in he has a playlist that is almost catered to you. During the consultations he takes the time to listen to you and make you feel heard. Overall if you're looking to further your fitness goals this place is the place for you. Not only do you get a great workout but you get a great personal connection with that workout.

Ryan has been amazing trainer for Troy and myself. We both have either knee /hip replacements or spine fusion. He makes the workouts challenging and also fun. He will be always make sure you are doing the exercises correctly and safely. The gym is clean and has all of the new equipment. I would highly recommend him for any of your needs whether it’s nutrition, or just getting your body back in shape!!!

I started working with Ryan 3 years ago after a shoulder surgery. He’s been able to modify exercises for me to ensure I am still hitting my strength goals. I have never been able to do push ups, until last week!! I did 30 push ups on my toes! 💪🏼
