My child absolutely loves lessons with Coach Marshal!! He is positive, encouraging, and skilled at teaching kids while still pushing them to grow. Weโve seen tremendous improvement in our son.

I've been training with Natasha for almost a year and its been great. I signed up after returning to gym life after 4 years of not working out. I dreaded walking in and getting started. Natasha knew how to accommodate my various middle-age ailments. Over the past year, my balance has improved tremendously, I am much stronger and enjoy working out again. Natasha makes it fun while always challenging me to do more. I highly recommend both Natasha and this gym.

Iโve had my two daughters in tennis lessons here for several years and we are extremely happy with the progress they have both made. We are very happy with all of the coaches and the flexible schedules for group/individual lessons.

Marshall is an incredible tennis coach! My kids look forward to every lesson and have grown so much in both skill and confidence. He has a rare ability to make instruction fun while still keeping the kids focused and improving week after week. Marshall is great with children and is truly invested in their growth and development!

My 8 year old is enrolled in both private and group tennis lessons here. She was only 6 when she began & we have had an excellent experience. As a fairly shy child I love seeing how confident and safe she now feels on the court.
Her coach, Marshal, has been wonderful. He cares about the well being of his students and gives sound advice with the player's long term goals in mind. We have referred several other families here and they are also really enjoying seeing their kids' progress
Highly recommend!

Coach Marshall at Big Sky in Farmington is incredible. He's been my coach for almost a decade, and I can honestly say he is the best coach I have ever had. Marshall's not just a great teacher but also an amazing player who can match whatever level you may be. He explains things in a way that actually makes sense, pushes you when you need it, and genuinely buys into your goals. And if you ever need to practice returning 130 mph serves, Marshall is the guy, because he can actually hit them.
Marshall helped me improve every part of my game, from serving to consistency to confidence. He also keeps the energy up and makes every practice fun. If you want a coach who is patient, encouraging, and truly invested in your progress, Marshall is the one to go to. I cannot recommend him enough. The facilities at Big Sky make it all the better, with beautiful lighting, locker rooms, and great courts.

I witnessed a group of about a dozen tennis students who were ages 4 to 8 at Big Sky in Farmington. Four of the little girls were up at the net with the teacher giving them her full attention. However, all of the other children, mostly boys, were summarily being ignored by the teacher, so they entertained themselves, very poorly I might add.
One little boy was running back and forth from one side of the tennis net to the other side of the tennis net while a group of 6 or so other little boys were swinging their racquets at each other like they were in a sword fight.
One small unsupervised child hit a tennis ball at another little kid and nailed him in the torso. Big Sky's tennis teacher (they're all called "tennis pros" by the way) needed quite a bit of assistance because she obviously could not safely teach a class of that size.
I expected Big Sky Fitness to seriously and professionally address my concerns. That didn't happen. They went into a "we refunded all monies collected" and "we cancelled" your membership mode.
Having taught little children, I was greatly disturbed and consulted a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for advice. She advised me (and my tennis partner) to write a Google Review so parents could become aware of the dangers to their children at Big Sky Fitness in Farmington.
Thank God for Google Reviews!
Hopefully, no child will suffer an eye injury if (and when) a wildly swung tennis racket might unintentionally strike a small child in the face.
It is one thing to say, "We take the safety and well-being of every child in our tennis program extremely seriously." It is quite another thing to actually respect small children and their special needs.
Anyone who goes to the Farmington Big Sky Fitness Center, we encourage you to look at the video screens provided to make sure the children are properly and safely supervised. What we witnessed was anything but "serious concern" for children's safety.

As a retired physical education teacher, I was shocked to see children in the tennis program running around hitting each other with tennis rackets while the "tennis pro" focused on one student at a time. Clearly, she had either no college training in K-12 physical education or no sense of how to keep children safe!
I told my tennis partner (also a teacher who has taught small children) that my AD (Athletic Director) would have fired me for not properly caring for children's safety if I had taught so poorly as to put the children's safety at risk.
The worst part of this shocking experience was the owners' response: they accused us of extortion, trying to sell them a tennis teaching tool which we never offered for sale. False accusations like this offend Connecticut State Law -- defamation per se (CGS - subsection 52-237).
We are praying for the children's safety because we never mentioned even the possibility of selling the tennis tools we patented and currently use to improve our personal skills to the club so they could use them. Staff was curious about our drills.
The owners clearly do not care about children's safety. They could easily review video tapes (if available) to verify our concerns for children's safety in the tennis program.
For us, this is a very sad state of affairs. As teachers in NY we were required by law to report any instances of possible child abuse. May God help the owners see the errors of their ways before a child is seriously injured due to deliberate indifference.

Big Sky in Farmington is one of the cleanest and most well-maintained gyms Iโve ever been to. The atmosphere is always positive and welcoming, and the staff goes above and beyond to make every visit enjoyable.
A special shout-out to the team at the drink bar โ theyโre always friendly, knowledgeable, and ready with great recommendations. The variety of protein drinks they offer is outstanding, and theyโll help you pick the perfect one based on your goals or taste preferences. Itโs clear they take pride in what they do and genuinely care about their members.
Whether youโre new to fitness or a regular, Big Sky Farmington sets the bar high for cleanliness, service, and quality. Highly recommend!

TRASH Gym. The equipment is outdated and there isnโt even close to enough equipment for the amount of people that go here. Literally one machine per body part? Oh and have fun trying to cancel your membership, you have to provide documentation of serious physical injury or proof that you moved just to cancel a GYM MEMBERSHIP ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ what a joke, the gym is low tier as well.

Giving the gym a five star in terms of service and cleanliness. So excited theyโre starting Pilates. However Iโm taking off one star due to the outdoor pool and the summer camp over lapping with visitors. It was hard to relax with the summer campers jumping in and taking up the entirety of the pool. Suggesting an designated adult swim time for next year so we adults can enjoy some quiet time in the pool. Also witness some counselors being very strict with the kids. If you get frustrated easily with kids you probably shouldnโt be working with them.

Absolute trash the swimming lessons being offered here. Do not put your kids for swimming here. It is a giant waste of time and money.
The coach (as a courtesy) not naming her makes you come to class with your kid early on a weekend morning and doesnโt show up herself. In addition she has cancelled last minute multiple times.
As working parents making up so many classes is a nightmare.
On top of that the water is uber cold.
Goodluck with your kid going here.

As someone who travels and tries diffent gyms, Big Sky is a good gym to visit. They have a decent amount of workout equipment and after your workout you can go the desk and buy a protein shake. The staff is real nice and has been very helpful. Id say my only complaint is that there's only a day pass, week pass or a month pass.

I wish I could give this gym no stars. I just want to cancel my membership, and according to the owner "they view each individual's circumstances as they come in" is false. They also falsely advertise their 2-month free promotion. I was still charged for my second month and I know of another individual that was charged for both of their first and second month. Beware with cancelling, they use a third party billing company that is absolutely bs. I cannot cancel without being permanently disabled, moving 16 miles away, military service, or going to school. The other thing is they force you to send an email for 30 days prior to your next billing statement to cancel and still charge you the amount for that month even though you are in the process of cancelling. ACTUALLY THEY CHARGED ME FOR TWO MONTHS!! After going through my transactions, I see a cost from big sky whcih basically means I paid for TWO MONTHS to not even get the two month free promotion going on. BE WARE of this fraud. Additionally, it is a one year contract that they install to you without you seeing anything about on their website. They hide it in their contract where the individual most likely will not look to see that you are locked in for an entire year. They also failed to explain the different types of payments and agreements you can do that would allow you to cancel whenever you feel like. However, that was not even mentioned on their site other than when you look into your own contract with them to find out that you are in a locked contract with them if you sign up online.

As with most of the one star reviews - the gym itself is fine but cancelling a membership has been impossible. A gym should be a service that you choose to pay for, not a contract that is used to intentionally keep you paying when you no longer need it.
Additionally, I grew up swimming in the pool at the Farmington location back when it was called Farmington Farms, and taught lessons there throughout high school. That pool was in rough shape over a decade ago and it has not gotten any better since. The water doesn't look quite right, and the poor ventilation gives the worst chlorine cough of anywhere that I have swam. If you're looking for a pool membership this is pretty much bottom of the barrel.

The ceiling has been leaking for literally 4 months now. Sometimes when I've gone in it is so bad they have buckets collecting falling water, other times there are mop buckets left in the free weight/class room to clean up trails of water all over the floor. For a period of time the women's locker room was flooded with orange rusty water as well. They replaced the roof but never addressed the true cause of the problem so now the new ceiling insulation is leaking again. I have complained 3 times over the course of 4 months because this has interfered with me wanting to utilize my membership but they just keep saying they're working on it. I have emails of them admitting to these leaks as well. I expressed that I wanted to cancel my membership due to the unacceptable condition of the gym & they told me I was contractually obligated to a 12 month payment agreement which was hidden in the contract I signed in some obscure hyperlink. I would have never signed up for a 12 month agreement as I do not even live in CT full time. Not only is this a bait & switch scam but they can't even maintain the gym properly. Oh & if you expect to go after work anytime between 5-7:30 the parking lot is so overcrowded people are parking on the lawn.
I will be contacting code enforcement.

Signing up for personal training at Big Sky has been a terrible experience. After a year, I decided to cancel, only to be told that I must provide a doctorโs notification to do so. I was paying $54 for 45 minutes of group training, the coach is good. But after committing for almost a year, I simply donโt want to continue. I wanted to give myself a break.
Itโs outrageous that they require medical proof just to cancel. This kind of practice is nothing short of a scheme to pressure and trap customers into staying. Itโs an incredibly unpleasant experience, and I resent the way Big Sky handles this.

I signed up for training sessions with Natasha approximately 3 months ago. Her approach has aligned in the best way possible with my strengths and weaknesses. She takes the time to listen and modify my workouts to ensure I get the most out of it without hurting myself (I have a bad knee). It is amazing to me how much of a difference that โminorโ corrections in form can make on progress (she has a keen eye and misses nothing! even in a group setting). Constructive and supportive without over correcting. The entire process has been extremely beneficial. If you are committed to the process, Natasha will be just as committed.

Big Sky in Farmington is hands-down the best gym and tennis center in the area! The all-encompassing tennis program, featuring six indoor courts and a plethora of lesson options, is the main reason I just upgraded my membership. My favorite pros Marshal, Rachel, and Nick are exceptional โ theyโre deeply invested in their players and take the time to teach the fundamentals and nurture our skills.
Aside from the tennis program, the amenities are extensive and up-to-date. Big Sky really offers so much with indoor and outdoor pools, a wide range of group fitness and spinning classes, and a kidโs club that includes childcare, tennis programming, swim lessons, and even a summer camp. You have all the cardio and strength equipment you would expect at any fitness center, and the space is so massive that it rarely feels crowded. I also love the newly renovated lobby, complete with super friendly staff members and a shake bar with tables and tvs where you can hang out and watch tennis or catch the news.
Thereโs a reason Big Sky has been voted the number one gym in the areaโitโs a unique spot and weโre lucky to have it right here in Farmington!

I have been going to Big Sky now for 4 years on and off while I was home from college during winter and summer breaks. I recently moved to California and I miss Big Sky so much! Not only is it a very well-equipped gym with all the machines, free weights, and cardio equipment needed for a good training session but the gym culture just does not compare to any other gym I have been too. I was there at 5:45am nearly everyday this past summer and while I usually kept to myself I still felt such a sense of support being surrounded by other early gym goers and it was very motivating. The first words I spoke everyday were a good morning to the person at the front desk and it always set my day off right. The gym culture here makes you excited and want to go to the gym even on the days when you don't think you have it in you. Also a big thank you to the front desk staff and the staff who keeps the celsius and barebell selection top notch. Nearly everyday did I walk out with one or the other or both. Also thank you for having my favorite flavor peach raspberry because they are so hard to find. So, thank you Big Sky for being my second home whenever I was in CT. Counting down the days till I can come back for a quick workout, whenever that may be! :)

For the first time, I feel comfortable in a gym! So clean, even though undergoing construction. I love that the staff is SO kind always and itโs nice and cool too!! I love that some of the cardio machines are separate from the weight lifting room for a less anxious experience!
