My review is long overdue...I met Yogi Brian many years ago, and I’m so grateful that we reconnected in the past few months. Being part of Yogi Brian’s community has been a gift. It’s not just about the physical practice; it’s about being part of something meaningful and I feel incredibly fortunate to be his student. Yogi Brian stands out: his immense knowledge and considerable years of experience shine through in each session. He brings a rare level of precision and clarity when explaining poses, always making sure students understand not just how, but why. His passion for teaching is undeniable, it flows into every class, creating an energy that lifts you up and makes you wish the class would never end.

YOGA WITH YOGI BRIAN
My name is Rick and I am the Director of Senior Services at a residential building for seniors in Stamford CT. During the COVID pandemic we were challenged to provide remote services to our seniors many of whom had a fear of even social distancing because this illness was deadly. To help keep our seniors active and engaged, we solicited the services of YOGA instructor Brian Buturla. Brian came highly recommended and had the personality as well as the skills to teach YOGA remotely.
We held our first remote class on May 21st, 2021, and met twice a month for one hour. Initially we had a class of 4. Once COVID
Restrictions were lifted we began to meet in person twice a month; first for one-hour sessions and then increased it to 90-minute sessions. It’s now September 2024 and Brian has shown that with his increased class of 10 participants many of whom have medical and health concerns, he is able to engage them with individual mobility exercises that help to improve their flexibility and body strength. Our seniors look forward to working with Brian and have a pleasant demeanor after every session.
Brian includes breathing, meditation, light weight exercises and Yoga in his sessions and the participants have all said they enjoy the sessions. I highly recommend Brian for anything YOGA!!!! The service is beyond excellent.

I have been exercising under Brian’s guidance for over 10 years now. What started as a journey into yoga has slowly grown into a practice incorporating various training and exercise disciplines crafted together in a perfect combination to address my physical needs and goals. Most recently I discovered that I had Lyme disease, the effects of which seriously hindered my physicality. But through Brian’s guidance over the past 6 months, I have regained much of my lost strength and balance allowing me to finally feel strong and normal again. Brian doesn’t stop at just the physical practice however. His approach additionally focuses on nutritional health along with meditative and mental centering skills to truly care for the entire being, not just the body. Brian has trained me through all the peaks and valleys in both my body and mind and his attentive nature means that each time we meet, he crafts just the right routine based on what’s happening for me that day, even if that calls for an extra 30 mins of meditation! I am very fortunate to have Brian in my life and look forward to training with him every week, even when he makes me do burpees!

I’ve been working out with Yogi Brian Buturla for about 6 months now and it is quite simply the best training and exercise experience I have encountered in my 62 years. Being a good motivator is a key attribute of any personal trainer, and certainly Brian is a fantastic motivator. What sets him apart though is that his motivation techniques spring from a well of kindness, caring, and compassion. Brian is genuinely interested in how he can meet me where I am on any training day, and he modifies his approach to training to mesh with not only my growth in fitness, but also the ebb and flow of my energy. He perfectly mixes safety, novelty, and hard work, and the result is nurturing and inspiring. Certainly, Brian has a deep understanding of exercise techniques, but to this knowledge base Brian adds a stunning facility in yoga, meditation, breathing exercises, and energy flow in general. The result is a fluid exercise regimen that has helped me to reach peak fitness in strength and flexibility, while reestablishing my connection to my energetic body. I’ve never been in better shape and I’m looking forward to growing even more with Brian’s help and encouragement.

Today is my birthday. I moved away 6 years ago and Yogi Brian still remembers me, sends me a Happy Birthday text every year on this day, he even beat my mother, sisters and best friend. This year on my birthday I wanted to say Thank you to the best Yogi Teacher I have ever had.
Brian said in class one day, and I will never forget this. “The teacher doesn’t find his students, but rather students find their teacher.”
Mind, Body and Soul - I promise anyone who isn’t sure if they should go to him to practice, you will be everything that Yoga offers you if you let him guide your practice! I wish for anyone reading this to find him and let him show you all the beauty a true Yoga Master can offer you.

I have been working with Brian for 4 years both in the context of yoga classes and 1:1 training. Brian is really tuned into all of his students and gets to know them on a personal level whether that’s in class or in a private session and tailors the workout to each individual. Brian has recently been helping me work through a chronic pain issue, creating a program suited to my specific needs with actionable steps I can take on my own. Our latest virtual session left me 99% pain free which is no small feat. Brian is committed to the success of each of his students and consistently goes above and beyond. He has been the biggest differentiator in my progress.

My journey began when I gave myself several small injuries from exercising. Yogi Brian answered my request for a trainer with real enthusiasm. I had interviewed a few other trainers. They were also good trainers, but didn’t give me a sense of recognizing my personal goals.
One conversation with Yogi Brian and I could tell he would tailor a program for my unique movement—to adjust and strengthen what I’ve been injuring. He is absolutely passionate about health and wellness. It comes out in his energy and training.
We’ve had 5 sessions and my injuries are essentially gone. My ultimate goal is to look as sculpted as Misty Copeland. Already, my glutes and quads are shaping up, my core feels strong, my posture is straightening. I’ve made more progress in 5 weeks than I did on my own in 2 months. It’s been the best investment in myself.
I also do weekly dharma yoga classes with him. My experience has been in vinyasa and dharma is where I finally feel connected to my body through yoga. Highly recommend!
I live across the country in Colorado. Virtual sessions have been the perfect way to stay safe during quarantine. I haven’t trained virtually before, but the sessions and yoga classes have been going really well. Brian explains the moves and adjustments to make it feel like we’re all in the same class together.
Overall, my training sessions have been valuable and I’ve enjoyed working with Brian. I can finally see my dream body coming to reality, worth every ounce of sweat! I recommend investing in your health and avoiding all types of injuries on your way by working with Yogi Brian.

I highly recommend Yogi Brian studios and have had a wonderful experience here! Trainer Brian has been very helpful and extremely knowledgeable in regards to his training technique and education. He assesses each individual needs and works on a program to help strengthen and improve body alignment and physical mobility! I have felt less pain, increased flexibility and improved strength over the time that I have been working with him. I used to attend a larger group yoga studio but found the individual training and smaller group yoga sessions really focused on my specific needs. As a Ironman, marathon runner and now expecting mother I can’t emphasize the benefits of what working with Trainer Brian has achieved enough. I am grateful that I started coming to this studio and the quality level of care and training that I continue to receive!

I love Yogi Brian’s classes and the safe environment in the class and the way he moves through the students to gently guide and support them to see how much further they can move while ensuring safety.
I feel very blessed to have found such a beautiful, wonderful place for my practice and a very wise and experienced mentor to learn so much more from. The practices are blissful and very calming, and I end up doing poses which I never thought could do, just like Dharma teaches you. (I am a prospective Dharma yoga teacher :) )
I look forward to many more yoga practices with Yogi Brian and the group of students!

The life of Pre-Med student is vigorous. My tenacious dream has always and will be to become the first M.D. in my family no matter the cost. With school on the side, I work a part-time job to save for my further education. The stress relievers I have in my life are working out, music, and reading for fun. One of those is the hardest to accomplish. I used to like working out in a gym, having your body work for you is one of the greatest feelings. Unfortunately, the gym I have attended for years became hostile and a judgmental environment. Everyone was trying to outdo one another. I knew this is not what I wanted to do as a part of my relaxation to try and compete with men/women next to me. I grew sick of it every time I went. One day in my Therapy Counseling Class, my professor brought up the importance of yoga and meditation for clients and yourself. I was astonished. I have heard of yoga before, but never really knew its purpose and how deep it could affect somebody. This thought lingered with me for some time until this Summer. I decided enough was enough. I wanted a new workout routine and most importantly new journey to go on. What I found was Yogi Brian.
Yogi Brian has taught me the value of adding peaceful meditation to each and every day. His relaxation sessions are incredible and after every one I feel the most refreshed I have felt in years. After a class of yoga and meditation I feel that I can take on the world!
I still remember my first class with Yogi Brian. He introduced me to the class and we got started. We got to a section in the class involving a headstand and all I could think was "Man, this is tough. I don't know if I can do this." Yogi Brian then approached me during this exercise. What I learned was Yogi Brian is the most selfless, attentive trainer and teacher I have ever had. He helped me with every step in the first class and has not stopped in my tenth class. I can now say I can do a perfect headstand, and more thanks to him. Yogi Brian just doesn't look at me, but looks after all of his students like family and wants to make sure they are having a successful journey in Dharma Yoga. I still remember when Yogi Brian pulled me aside one day in a training session to discuss my history and what I want out of yoga. I told him my past and my dreams and he has done nothing but try to help me achieve them by helping me achieve a healthy conscious and subconscious through yoga.
I try to attend classes twice a week. Yogi Brian's classes are what help me get through my week, because they are what I look most forward to. His classes have helped me build a stronger body that was unattainable with just lifting weights and using machines at the gym. His classes have also taught me valuable importance of balance and posture, things that are very important, but never really looked at. Yogi Brian has never stopped believing in me that I can do my best.
I truly believe that all students should at least try yoga once in their college careers. It has done absolute wonders on my mind, body, and soul. I used to be very hard on myself, until I started doing yoga and found a deeper inner peace that I could not find anywhere else. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity Yogi Brain has granted me and I hope that more students will follow the path of yoga/meditation for healthier lives and careers.
Namaste.

So, I am a RYT-500 whose personal practice hit a roadblock. I felt like I just couldn't find the right balance between my physical and spiritual practice (my spiritual practice is very solid). Quite by 'accident', I came across Yogi Brian's website (and I really don't believe in accidents!). I read all about his practice and I read the reviews. I sent an email and was responded to promptly with a good time to call. After speaking with Brian, I knew I needed to sign up for a private session. I signed up for two hours (I live 1.5 hours away). I just left my session and can I say, this was the BEST, most productive 2 hours EVER! Brian is extremely knowledgable, his instructions are crystal clear and he works with you at your own personal level. What really impressed me is that he had put together, ON PAPER, a specific 2 hour session for me after hearing from me what I needed that he gave to me when I left. My challenges were in arm balances and I had been struggling with some of the asanas for MONTHS. Although I know that asanas are a small part of YOGA, that was what I needed to work on. I not only landed the poses I was looking for, I landed a couple I had never done before. That definitely put the spark back into the physical part of the practice that has been missing for me. I have already signed up for my next session! If you are a seasoned practitioner or someone who is just starting, I can't recommend Brian enough...even if you live farther away, it is most definitely worth the ride. ~Namaste

My experience at Yogi Brian's studio has been so positive.. It is a relate-able and non judgemental zone where you get insight, conversation, exercise, meditation, and deep breathing, to name a few! I have not been able to stop talking it up to anyone who is open to listening. Every time I leave class I never feel dissatisfied or like I did not get my moneys worth because it is worth every cent and more. I feel like this is a place where I will be practicing for many years to come because yoga is more of a necessity at this point than a luxury and that is because of the mind, body, and soul benefits this studio has to offer! If you want real yoga and to be a part of community, "this is where its at!" Enjoy!

Come here with an open mind and see the magical transformation in your life…...
Yogi Brian’s teaching cannot be more wholesome to my physical health, mind and spiritual journey. He is truly a gifted individual who is passionate about his yoga practice and coaching, always calm, cool and inspiring. His approach to wellbeing is outstandingly incredible with bountiful resources, focusing on the beauty and simplicity of the practice as the ultimate happiness and peace in today’s world. His guidance though meditation, yoga principles and fun facts here and there make his classes so enjoyable. A complete workout for the body and a nourishment for the mind.
I met Yogi Brian at a private session, then joining his classes. His personal attention to my health condition, physical ability and state of mind are phenomenal. His wealth of knowledge and experience in fitness training combining with classical yoga practice are a great combo! He takes his time to know his students, which fosters a great teacher - student relationship. The workshop I attended was amazing with beautiful live music, great great energy and positive vibes from everyone in the room. It is was encouraging and a lot of fun!!
Yogi Brian's studio is beautiful with vibrant colors and a soothing feel to it. Always a great vibe, ever immaculate. You just want to hang out there or go to his class again the next day after being sore from the last class ( also because inversions are so much fun!!). I love that his classes are small so you get more room and attention to improve. He continuously challenges his student while being versatile with the different levels making them feel comfortable, safe, grounded, and interactive. My energy level, awareness and calmness increase at the end of each class.
Alongside with Yogi Brian, Colleen (his wife) has provided me with exceptional customer service with setting me up as a first timer and always answering my inquiries promptly. What a great team they make!!
I could not think him enough for a glimpse of this complete practice that I can see an overall improvement that has led me to a deeper understanding of my own spiritual journey. As long as you are willing to do work with Yogi Brian, the results are wonderful.

As my first experience committing to yoga daily, I found Yogi Brian's style to work well for me. As a beginner, I feel comfortable attending all the classes because they are tailored to all levels. If you want a challenge as a beginner, he will instruct you on an array of challenging levels for each pose performed. This is very pleasing to me because I like to have options and learn about variations that I can use to make my personal experience a fulfilling one. He also brings in guest musicians from time to time for meditative chanting, creating a unique and joyful practice. I feel that he actually lives the lifestyle of a Yogi and that is an aspect that drew me to his classes. They are taught by him directly which helps me feel like there is a great attention to his student's individual needs and development. Three weeks in and I can stand on my head, my shoulders have demonstrated more definition, and mindfulness as started to develop even more than before. His studio provides a very welcoming, non-judgmental vibe for everyone. Sometimes we are offered tea and other delicious healthy beverages. I highly recommend this life experience for any age level!

I am new to CT and have been searching for a yoga studio that I love as much as mine back home. I almost gave up the search until I found Yogi Brian. What a wonderful experience! From the first class I was doing thing I had never done before...tripod headstands..forearm headstands...what?!?! I don't get to attend class as much as I would like, but when I do I leave feeling accomplished, stronger, and more balanced. I can't recommend Yogi Brian's classes enough!

I have had the pleasure to meet Brian few years back when I was looking to start Yoga in Norwalk and had his classes and got to see the human side of this extraordinary man. It’s a rare opportunity in the area we live in to come into contact with someone like Brian. His great respect for yoga, for the people that attend classes and the actual yoga studio surrounding itself, is unmatched. Because of his knowledge of eastern philosophy, his presence alone is peaceful but yet disciplined. Brian is one of the most unique, genuine, loving and dedicated yoga practitioners I’ve met. He is one of those rare people you meet in life that you never forget and I know that people will be taken on an unforgettable yoga journey like none other. Thank you and Namaste! Mariella

Yogi Brian Yoga Studio is a hidden gem in Norwalk, CT. The classes are small and personalized to the needs of the different students attending. There are no two classes alike as Yogi Brian mixes the different elements of Yoga (posses, relaxation, meditation, etc.) according to the skill levels, the needs and the desires represented in the group. Besides Yogi Brian's extensive knowledge of the inner workings of the body and mind, and his undeniable spirituality, I would be remiss if I did not mention Yogi Brian's infinite patience. My 70+ year old mother came to visit from Mexico last Summer and I took her to classes with me. My mom had never taken yoga in her life and thought she couldn't do it (two herniated disks.) Furthermore, there was the small issue of the language difference. Yogi Brian was VERY accommodating and attentive to her needs. He guided her in every class with the patience of a saint, always taking into account her physical constraints. He encouraged her when she thought she could do no more, and to her amazement, and mine, she always could. She was so happy and felt so well when she left that she said she was going to continue Yoga in Mexico and she would be back for more classes with Yogi Brian this Summer. My mom surpassed every expectation I had for her, and more importantly, every expectation SHE had for herself. Thank you Yogi Brian!

Yogi Brian changed my life 2 yrs ago. He has helped me through menerie's disease with active vertigo. I was able to get off most of my medicines and I can do inversions with vertigo. He helped me figure out my triggers. I am able to do poses I never thought I could do. He has also helped me eat healthier and I was able to lose 20lbs. I don't know where I would be today without him.

Yogi Brian is a truly exceptional teacher in the yoga tradition and life coach. His background in physical training, yoga and qigong provide a broad set of resources to guide students according to their needs and interests.
The personal attention and care that Yogi Brian provides in group classes as well as private sessions is unique and sets his studio apart from the mass marketed studios that measure success by overcrowding. He considers the teacher - student relationship as special and even sacred which is evident in the special insights that he provides on each student's personal journey.
