Used to work in area but then relocated. Havnt gone to this location or chain of gym in months. Soon after my card that was used to pay for membership expired. They kept charging me for months and then turned to over to collections. Now apparently I owe over $$500 or my credit will be affected in a negative manner. Total scam !!!The gym is totally not worth it, so bad its changed companies a few times from gold to club to now in process of becoming powerhouse fitness. Decaying equipment, No phone service and with extremely poor WiFi that is equivalent to no service. Showers are in need of update. No shake bar . horrible classes. I would rate 0 stars if I could

Pro's: It's a great gym. Everything's clean. Great equipment. Friendly(ish) staff.
Cons: There isn't space for yoga, stretching, calisthenics, etc.. there is plenty of space CrossFit section.. but they charge almost the price of a full monthly membership to access it.

Staff is friendly, I'm a fan on the room off to the side that used to be the women's room. The price is really fair. My main complaint is the temperature- I'm always so incredibly hot there. I know that some people really like that, but it gets *really* uncomfortable for me. Since they can't have a women's room any more, maybe they can have a cold room for people like me!

I was quite happy with this gym. There is a a variety equipment for whatever your fitness goals are. My only gripe is with your cancellation policy. If I move to a different state I should be able to call and cancel my membership and not have to send you a post card to prove to you that I moved. There is technology far too advanced for such action.

Mask policy violation.
I went to this gym for about a week, and everything was great until you start seeing the true colors of the staff. While I was there, the lady in the front desk was dating one of the gym members. That gym member had a reign to do whatever he wants as if he worked there. Also, the individual made himself comfortable to be behind the desk, although he never worked there, and that is besides the point.
While I was working out there, the management made it clear that all of the gym members had to wear a mask while working out. However, the individual I have mentioned earlier was working out and did not wear the mask. He was also talking to other gym member while not wearing a mask, which is a direct violation of the gym rules and CDC of the state of Connecticut.
When I have mentioned this to the front desk lady, she immediately defended the actions and I quote โ well he lifts very heavy, and he works out hard.โ In other words, she was defending the policy violation. The front desk lady was also very defensive.
When I have mentioned this to the management, the attitude was even worse. All it was mentioned that โ I have talked to her, and everyone is entitled to have a bad day.โ Since the manager was rude during my email interaction with her, I simply asked her do not email me. However, the manager continued to email me even late at night.
I highly recommend that you do not go to this gym because it is not only unsafe, but you are dealing a a very poor leadership and terrible staff. The same staff who will tell you to put on a mask but will not apply the same rules to their significant other.
If you do not want to catch covid, then I would highly recommend to avoid this gym.

The gym issues bottles of disinfectant and a rag to every member who enters the gym. They require wearing masks and spraying down equipment after use. Presently the place is not at full occupancy but is slowly building momentum.

Plenty of cardio and free weights and rumor has it that they're working on a CrossFit area as well. Great gym for your heavy lifters and beginners. I'm also a certified personal trainer here. So what ever you need, feel free to ask.

This club fitness could use an upgrade for sure. The womenโs center looks like it was last upgraded in the 70s. Thereโs no space in there. The machines are old. Itโs a disgrace actually. The front desk staff are nice people. All of the classes Iโve taken there have been great! The wood floors on the room with group classes need to be replaced and upgraded.

On 8/1/18 People were waiting outside at 4:00am . The lady who was supposed to open the gym didn't show up. Around 5:00am people started leaving and there was no way to contact the manager to open the gym. After sitting around the motivation is no longer there but other than that the gym works for me.
