Went to get a tour and sign up. No tour, staff on the cell phone. Said oh just walk around and see. Always packed with people. Waiting forever for machines, and staff? What staff? The mannequins. Cancel 30 days before it ends or you get screwed. Kinda makes you wonder why they make it so hard to leave. Because they know the gym is overcrowded and breaking down. Contract ended and they keep billing me. Even after they sent a document saying I would no longer be billed. Literally stealing your money. Then they dont respond at all. Don't give these crooks your business. Thieves with no honor.

I've been consistently going to Coastal fitness multiple times a week for over a year now. Despite being small in size, equipment selection is premium, many amenities are provided, and overall gym environment is exceptional relative to other gyms I've had a membership at. Also, I would like to highlight a specific staff member, named Stefon, who has only been kind and helpful. One day, my card was working, and he generously paid for my drink! Im going to owe him back, but kind deeds like this make my overall experience better.

Just got off the phone with a guy who couldn’t have been more disinterested or less personable in answering my very basic questions. Basically told me that I have to be a member before getting any information about specific programs. Thanks but no thanks!

My wife and I attended here (Clinton) for several years. We are seniors and sadly they don’t accept Silver Sneakers and their membership is nearly triple the cost of larger chains. We were on a winter “freeze” of our memberships and recently informed them that we would not be able to afford to return this year and as a reward for our years of membership Taylour proceeded to charge us $56 to cancel our membership! This is the kind of treatment local members get. No allowance for seniors or circumstances (we had no idea we would be charged to cancel). Taylour’s very lame reasoning was that there are “policies” (read the fine print). Since we have not set foot in the gym this year and weren’t aware of the “policy” they could have easily waived the ridiculous fee. Instead they exhibited their cruelty toward seniors and that was that. Accordingly, we do NOT recommend this gym and this type of management, there are better, friendlier, and more understandable options out there!

I was a member of the Old Saybrook club. The gym is great, but the employees and owner are awful. I was a member and had plans to move out of state before my contract was up. I went in-person to cancel my membership when the only on-staff employee said “I do not know how to do that”. He proceeded to give me a ripped up piece of paper to put my name and number on it for the next person to come in and cancel me. I called a week later to confirm…they had no clue who I was or why I was calling. By this time, I had already moved. I spoke with the owner (I believe Brian is his name). He assured me he would take care of this for me….that never happened. Fast forward to 9 months later I wake up to a call asking for permission to process my annual fee. THEY STILL DID NOT CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP! I immediately called Brian for him to say that I have never spoken to him in my life meanwhile I have all proof of email and phone records to show for it. He also said he only cancels in person (funny how that worked out when I tried). I am now being told I won’t be reimbursed the $400 I was charged for the 9 months and that this is all my fault. Brian is unbelievably rude, accusatory, and untrustworthy. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. You’ll never stop paying them!

Front desk was super helpful and friendly. The gym was clean and neat with a variety of equipment. The location has ample parking even on a Sunday. Don’t be intimidated to try this gym.

This is the best price gym around me. I just wish there were more people that cleaned their machine after they used it. A big plus is open 24-7. I was a member of this gym many years ago and you could change the TV channel from your treadmill. I really miss that feature. Because wow I hate the news.

There's 2 good things about this gym now: it's 24hrs with key card access and the sauna. The gym is very overcrowded with equipment (half of the turf area is just littered with mediocre quality cable machines), the squat area is downright dangerous with the small area being extremely crowded with 3 squat racks (if someone falls backwards they're going to get seriously injured). The bench presses racks are bent and uneven, making unracking/reracking the weights problematic at best.

All in all, I'm going to continue going here due to the proximity and the 24hrs. If there was another option that wasn't driving distance.

Called to cancel membership and was told I need to go in person however they would hold the date to start my 30 day window. When I arrived in person, signed and was told they would fix the issue and make sure I was not charged again. I was just charged an annual fee 20 days after cancelling and also charged another month. Disappointed and would not recommend them due to their poor service.
