I came to this gym before it renovated, and back then it wasn’t the best. However, after the new change and Dre being in charge, this gym has become an amazing place to work out.

First, a huge shoutout to Dre. The manager at this location. He is extremely understanding when it comes to find the right plan for you, and your goals in this gym. Dre is willing to work alongside you. He wants you to succeed, and he makes this place really welcoming knowing you by name, and always saying hello when you’re working out.

Another shoutout to Taylor, a personal trainer here! I’ve worked with her for a couple of months and I’ve seen so much improvement from when I started. She’s super kind and knows exactly what kind of workout you need.

Lastly to all the staff, they are very friendly, they know how to help you, and greet you with a smile when you arrive and leave for the day.

The gym it’s self is clean, well organized, and has something for everyone looking to workout. From classes, to personal trainers the gym offers what you need!

If you’re looking for a gym, I highly recommend you come here and do a quick tour with Dre, tell him what you’re looking for and he can help you out!

Absolutely the best gym for those who actually like to train. Since Elite Fitness purchased Valley they’ve made so many improvements. The biggest improvement is the cleanliness of the facility. The staff is all exceptionally friendly. Dre is a top notch trainer, pushing me out of my comfort zone and seeing the results is the best part. They have two or every piece of equipment, dumbbells, barbells, TRX, Battle Ropes, etc. A great place to workout and its location is super convenient. I was a member of Valley 18 years back and again 2 years ago, but ultimately left because of the lack of upkeep to the facility. Elite keeps the place clean and is making all the necessary repairs to keep the gym operating smoothly. Thanks Elite and Dre for making this gym a place I love again!

I've lifted for a decade and a half and have been a member at this location for 7 years, across 3 different owners.

Pros:

* The gym has a new coat of paint, and basic maintenance has improved.
* New to the gym equipment \- more cable machines.
* Automated scent diffusers were removed.
* Grandfathered rates for some\* members.
* The location is convenient for me.

Cons:

* The standard payment method requires direct bank account information, which is pretty unusual and not secure, in my opinion. Choosing to use a credit card results in an exorbitant additional fee.
* Full 24-hour access, which was previously standard for all members via a durable, hard-cased RFID key fob, has been eliminated. It’s now a premium feature available only in higher-priced tiers, accessed by a less robust barcode scanner that is prone to wear (though more typical to gyms I’ve had).
* The gym enforces limited hours on weekends, yet staff are often working inside well past the official closing time. The weekend hours for this location are also particularly early compared to their other gyms (2pm vs 7pm - huge difference). Both of these call into question the necessity of the restricted hours for members and make it seem like a ploy just to push the higher memberships.
* My grandfathered membership was automatically converted to the lowest tier, stripping it of the 24-hour access it previously included.
* Family plans are no longer offered. Our pre-existing family plan was dissolved, *forcing the other member onto a new, separate, membership without the grandfathered rate.
* There are persistent ceiling leaks that require buckets to be placed on the gym floor. The ceiling tiles are heavily water-stained, and maybe there’s mold, especially since it is a basement location. This issue was inherited from the prior owners, and I’m guessing it’s just a by-product of being a tenant.
* While a mini-split unit serves the free-weight side, the cardio area doesn’t seem cooled, and the overall gym is usually very hot.
* Some functional machines, like a seated tricep pushdown, were removed and not replaced with equivalents. Reusable cloth rags for members were also discontinued in favor of paper towels. They took away the coat racks so you’re forced to use a locker.
* While some higher tiers offer multi-gym access, the chain's small footprint (two locations in CT, one in NJ) provides little practical value for the majority of members.
* The overall membership rates are higher than Big Sky (at which I have had memberships as well), and the gym doesn’t have all the same amenities, like pools and tennis courts.

I think if there were a universally higher-priced membership with 24/7 access and no fee for using non-bank payment methods, everyone would be better off. Overall, this is still my preferred gym in the area and I look forward to seeing continued improvement.

This is a perfect hidden gem in the Unionville area. Great and friendly staff, good machines, and the sauna is the cherry on top. If you need a reliable, 24 hour gym this is the one for you!
