I’m very disappointed with the new management at the gym. After being away for a couple of weeks, I was unfamiliar with the new check-in system and unsure how to open the outside door. A woman, who I assume is a manager, came outside and told my friend and me that we needed to scan our membership cards to enter. She scanned her card, and I walked in with her.
Instead of simply explaining that I also needed to scan my own card, she grabbed my arm, pulled me back outside, and scolded me. I was shocked and upset by her behavior. I’ve been a member here for about two years and have never had such a negative experience

Equipment is Second hand, and after trying to cancel after less than a week, they are attempting to charge an extra 75$ for the annual membership !
REAL STAND UP ESTABLISHMENT !
PLENTY OF OTHER GYMS THAT ARE FAR WORTH IT.

Be careful at this gym. Seems nice on the outside but you don’t see their true colors until it’s time for you to cancel or move on from your membership. They trick you into keeping your membership for as long as possible after wanting to cancel so they can keep charging you. With this in mind I would go to a larger gym with more locations, amenities, and a better price. This way you’ll have better luck canceling if it’s an “in person only” cancel policy like total health club. Save yourself some headache because it sucks to feel like you’re getting robbed from a gym you don’t go to anymore, and that’s where you may find yourself if you go here.

I had a horrible experience with total health club. They seem nice until it is time for you to cancel your membership. Watch out when they offer to “freeze” your membership. I froze mine before moving away for a while, and they still charged me when I moved away after telling me that would not happen. When I called they told me I needed to send a signed certified letter that they apparently never received although I sent TWO letters to their exact address, FORCING me to keep being charged a whole two years until I returned to my home state. Gym staff are nice, however they only care about policy and are totally useless in helping members. Just be careful! it is set up is such a way to keep you paying long term for your membership even after you don’t need it or want it. I would test my luck at a better gym thats less money hungry.

There are a lot of great things about this gym, except their hours. I wish they would create a way for members to be able to workout when it’s convenient for them. Maybe have a lockbox or something for us to be able to scan to get in and workout after hours. They tend to close on bank holidays like Memorial Day and Good Friday. I want to workout on my days off from work. And sometimes they close early like 7pm. When I miss going in during the morning hours, if I work late, I miss my workout. I would’ve given 5 stars but that’s on my concern and I may have to find another gym because of this.

This club has been harassing by telephone and e-mail me for 2 years DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC for a $10.00 a month payment, even after I spoke with a woman in 2020 informed her that I moved across the United States to the west coast and I provided proof of my move. They will not admit that their employee messed up and they lost my information. They now want me to pay an ungodly amount of money for a service I cancelled and cannot utilize because I do not live in Connecticut. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS GYM!!!! They provide no support or assistance or even general compassion to their members. The gym is nice but it’s not worth the disrespect and lack of follow through from their staff to utilize it.

Let me add to this review since I received a response from an “owner” but I can’t seem to get one on the phone. I asked if I can resend any documentation via email or fax to show the SAME PROOF that I live out of state. I was told I have to send my personal information in the form of a utility bill through USPS. Which I am not comfortable with and I have explained that. I have called and asked to speak with a manager or owner. There is never one available. I then have asked for a call back from a manager or owner. NO CALL BACK! Yet I am still being wrongfully charged still.Even up to this morning. Now what they are trying to extract from me has gone up in fee since I posted this review. Funny how that happened. You want verification from something from 2020 meanwhile won’t allow me to provide any supporting documents through a secured way nor are holding your own employees accountable. Not to mention you’re trying to charge me for time during the pandemic!!

Fantastic gym!!!! Joined up earlier this year and love every workout i do there. I have a hard time leaving Total Health Club due to the fun enviorment and amazing classes and great staff. I would say joining there has been one of the best choices ive made.

I made the jump to Total Health Club from a big box gym and I am so glad I did. Wonderful and knowledgeable staff that always have a smile on their faces.
