I have belonged to no less than 8 different gyms over the past 30+ years, and this gym is far and away the best. There is a variety of clean, well maintained cardio and weight equipment as well as sufficient room for body weight exercises and stretching. The hospitable and helpful atmosphere emanates from management and staff, and is reflected in the very friendly clientele. Additionally, there is ample well-lit parking available so I never feel nervous about coming in at any hour.

The contract is predatory go else where. They have taken money from my account after my membership was suspended for failure to pay. And charged me for the 8 months since the suspension I'm currently in the process of looking into legal options and will be looking for more people that have had similar experiences.

I remember coming here and experiencing prejudice 3 years ago from a black/latina manager.
If your not black, the staff are going to give you a problem here. Also experienced this nasty behavior in the dressing room from non-employees.The female managers need to get checked for their hostility towards other Non-Black women.

I came to the Bloomfield, CT gym. An African American young man stated he can't give me any information pertaining to the gym unless I provide him with my License and payment. I conveyed I need information first before joining as I am an over the road truck driver and needed a plan that can work for me in every state. He stated he can't give me any information until I do as he says. I simply walked away without joining. I am a CT resident and have yet to join a gym.

Gym was nice, but too small. All the benches were in use, but there were no benches for 2 of the 4 Smith machines. With the limited space, the gym needs to have less space between machines and add more equipment.

Well equipped local gym. They just upgraded their cardio equipment and added three power lifting stations. There's enough equipment to provide ample opportunities to work out even at the busiest times. It's clean and professionally staffed. Really quite impressive for a Planet Fitness or for any gym.

Edit: Ill also add that, as a Black Card + member, the massage chairs, tanning beds, and other amenities are nice to have too.

I just joined recently, and I’m impressed. I belong to another gym as well, but this one has some features that my other gym doesn’t. There are lots of machines of all kinds, there’s plenbty of space, the exercise areas and locker rooms are nice and clean, and the staff have been very friendly to me. I recommend it!

I'm new to the gym. This staff was very lazy and rude. I asked an employee if they worked there and they flat out said no. As I was leaving the gym, he was working. He was an employee. If it wasn't for the newington location I wouldn't return to Planet Fitness at all.

I really love the equipment. The Bloomfield location seems to have more of them there than the other locations, and they all work. It’s a lot cleaner there in the Bloomfield location and the staff are more engaging and helpful. I get more motivated at that location.

I absolutely love Planet Fitness, especially the Copaco location—it’s amazing! The staff there are even more incredible; they truly make you feel at home. I would love to see more glute machines added, and maybe a Zumba class would make it even better. And let’s talk about the price—just $10 a month! Plus, they’re open 24 hours Monday through Thursday and stay open late on weekends. What could be better than that?

So I'm driving to Canada on vacation and I have to use the bathroom. The place I stop at the bathroom is out of order, and I see a PF next door, so I think great. After I scanned my pass, the employee started asking me questions about why I was there because I had flip-flops on. Should I have to explain that I need to use the restroom? He is lucky I didn't go right there on the floor. Not feeling the need to explain myself, I promised him I wouldn't work out. I've been to over 50 pf, and never ever have I been questioned at the door before or after I scan my pass. If I didn't have a bathroom emergency and was on vacation, I would have taken the time to straighten that employee out.

I've written 3 emails to Planet Fitness within the past month with a specific Q and as of 4.22.24 no one has responded via email, phone, or text. Where's customer service?

1.31.24 PF is located in the Copaco Plaza, next to Burlington, so there's lots of parking. Front entrance staff is always friendly and helpful. As other folks noted, the gym, lockers, and equipment are clean. I've visited this gym between 4-7pm and 5-7am on several occasions, and it's never too busy in the cardio area. The are with free-weights gets a little backed-up, but there are many machines you can use. If you just want to work out and not be bothered by anyone, this place is perfect. My only complaint is that the locker room only has 2 changing rooms, and only 1 has a bench to put things on. Recently, the wifi has not been working all of January. The staff said they're trying to get a new carrier. Hope this gets fixed soon.

As of 2/5/24 still NO wifi and day 2 with NO paper towels. Why not send staff to Stop& Shop next door and pickup gand towels? Something would be better than nothing.

Well, this is a confusing place. They take Medicare benefits for seniors but don't move to try to help seniors to adjust. I thought they would have an area for seniors but not so. You come in there, there are 500 machines that you don't know how to work, or what they are for. They say the app will tell you, but I can't get my app to work in there. They have workers standing behind the counters and I'm sure they know people don't know how to work the machines but won't take one step to help. They say you have to come ask us. I'm already on a walker. Do you think I want to walk all over that big gym to come and get you? They tout cleanliness, but what I found is the customers have to wipe down the machines before and after each workout. I'm disappointed because if it were my gym, I'd have my workers walking around the gym to assist those who don't know how to work or adjust or program the machines, rather then standing around a counter. It's a lovely place though.

Canceling anytime is a lie, took me hours to cancel me membership .
I called and spoke with someone and they took all my info after I told them I wanted to cancel after being on hold I was told I have to come in to the facility. I went in and cancelled my membership and was still charged for the next month.

This is one of the cleanest locations I've been to. I don't like that as a trucker I can't park my semi truck near there. As I too pay for my membership just like those that drive a car. But the Lowe's across the parking lot behind the good will allowed truck parking. It's a walk to the planet fitness but it's parking for us. Remember if you go shopping here, this state is over off those bagless states so bring reusable bags with you. The gym allowed me to reuse the massage chairs. I would suggest when it's 16° outside to not run the air conditioner on the inside. It was freezing in the black card area. The tanning machine was an intense experience since the plastic table felt like -0° laying on top of it. Several bulbs didn't turn on a couple were flickering. Those should be repaired for safety purposes. The kids working at the freeway were friendly. I love how they were cleaning the restroom consistently. That's a relief compared to other locations I've seen across this country. There's blow dryers too! Not all locations have the scales and hollow dryers. I'm my opinion, they all should. I would also appreciate it if planet fitnesses would incorporate dance rooms with mirrors like a dance studio/Cardio areas. I did take a shower, laid in the massage chair, did the tanning bed, then after shipping I came back to My truck to do my dance cardio workout.

Whoever the older employee is who goes around cleaning everything during the late night hours needs to be put in check. Walks around bullying people and then accusing THEM of having an attitude problem. I’ve never had issues with any other staff member here. It took every bit of willpower I had to walk away and not put him in check myself. You’re better off finding another gym or avoiding late hours.

Update: Just like some others on here have said, I got a voicemail from a manager, called back several times and received no response back. Absolutely nothing done about it. Stay away.

Planet fitness in CT is way different than Florida. The staff in CT is not helpful and everything looks dirty and old. if you have a black membership, they don’t honor the discounts or benefits. Totally disappointing 👎🏻

I didn't get to go to the gym frequently due to my schedule but the times I went staff was always willing to help and the gym was spotless. Also they have a wide range of equipment. I recently needed to cancel and there was a miscommunication and AJ along with his staff was very professional and helpful. For me as soon as I get my schedule together wouldn't consider any other gym. The most convenient aspect is the monthly fee and the ability to go anywhere to work out. Thanks planet fitness!
