The gym itself is pretty good. I had the black fitness card which was also nice but they would charge me a $20 late fee every month even though I had my bank connected to it. When I wouldn’t pay it it would just take the money out of my bank account and when I would call and complain they told me it was per policy even though it wasn’t my fault they weren’t taking the money out on time. My bank was set up with to be taken out the same day every month and every time they wouldn’t take it out the right day and charge me an extra $20. They claim I don’t have the right bank information the day they are supposed to take the money out but I don’t change any of the information about it and a week later they take it out with the same bank information I had before.

I have been to planet fitness clubs all over the country and throughout Connecticut. This location is without a doubt, the dirtiest, most disgusting planet fitness gym I have ever had the misfortune of using. Corporate should do something with this place.

PF is closing the men's locker rooms. Nowhere to shower for at least a month, maybe 2 months. I understand that they want to remodel, but charging dues while this is occuring is unconscionable. Gonna to be a great experience walking out to the porta potties in the pouring rain. This is not what I contracted for. If you need to break the contract, stop charging. Luckily The Edge is just across the street!

Ive been to this gym at many different times and when Luna is working thats when i have the best experience. She is very helpful and KIND. Very kind and positive attitude. Why does staff have to vacuum clean the floor during busy hours? 🤣🤣 it’s a safety issue, people are working out with weights and there’s someone dragging a vacuum around with and XL cord in everyone’s path. Just waiting to trip on it. It’s distracting and unsafe. The person cleaning is not mindful of their surroundings and went right in front of me, the cord got caught on the weight I was using. I moved elsewhere, but what a hassle.

This gym is alright, they have a variety of different equipment available to use. Most of the time the equipment is broken which is a hassle if you want to use that certain machine. My biggest complain is the lady that works at the front desk, the one with glasses and I believe she’s the manager. She is very unprofessional and petty, as the other reviews about her say, she always lets her friends in without scanning in which I find very unprofessional of her. Not to mention one time she came up to my gym partner and told her not to do something while she clearly saw others were doing the exact same thing, the only reason she picked on my gym partner was because of a little disagreement they had had the day prior. She is also always looking at people as if judging them. I find her behaviour very rude and disrespectful, I truly don’t understand why she is still being employed there when many other reviews complain about her! Her horrible behaviour is the reason we canceled our gym memberships and went to The Edge Gym instead.

It's very average for a planet fitness, terrible for a real gym. The new equipment is trash, not sure why they swapped out the old ones. The quality of the buttons on the new equipment is questionable and dangerous to say the least. The girl who works the front with the glasses is worse than the police when it comes to some parts of her job but then let's some patrons in without swiping their membership card? I'm not sure what the protocols are but my guests and I are always hounded to swipe in. This dumpster fire of a "gym" is overpriced at $20/month. I would love to cancel my membership but the hoops you have to jump through for that require gymnastic skills that I can't strengthen at this cesspool.

This gym is open 24 hours (Monday through Thursday), which is a huge plus for those of us who enjoy late workouts. A big drawback is how crowded it can get at times, especially during the summer. On the other hand, their membership fee is pretty affordable.

Always there.. updated review.... use to go all the time last two years went down hill to much to list but its dirty inside there unprofessional manager i was threated by her and blamed for something with no proof and called out in front of other members. I don’t understand the recent one star review because absolutely none of that is true of the Meriden location. All of the employees who work the front desk have been amazing to my daughter and me who just started coming here about a month ago. They go out of their way to say hello and help us as needed. All of the equipment that we have used is an excellent condition and the locker room is spotless. I was a little nervous about starting to come to the gym in my 60s, but I feel more than welcome here and it truly is a judgment free zone.

Im so tired of this gym missing dumbbells. They have the normal rack of dumbbells in the front and then a half rack of more dumbbells in the back. Instead of getting extra dumbbells for the back, they just took half the ones from the front. Theres only 1 set of each size which means i have to keep walking back and forth to find the dumbbells i need. Theres also almost no space to stretch yet they have ten thousand treadmills and only a quarter of them get used at one time. Also, the handle and rope attachments for the cable stacks need replacing. On the plus side, they seem to have more benches than the other planets, even though they’re a but crowded.

Awful experience today when I forgot my water bottle and was informed that they don't take cash to buy water.. I felt like the attendant that signed me up for the silver sneakers program should have told me this. I was really stunned that the attendant today couldn't find another solution for me..possibly putting it on her card and taking the cash from me.or giving me one as a courtesy. Really surprised that she let me walk out. I will probably never return here. I didn't like this gym anyway . The atmosphere has changed from when I used to go 10 years ago..alot of younger,louder belligerent types of people. It used to be quieter with agood mixture of all ages now it's alot of loud 20s and 30s. Seems like they have pushed out the older people . I'll try the Y instead.

I signed up for this gym less than two months ago and they took the corresponding fee and the first month's payment out of my account. Now they're calling me saying they're going to send me to the collection agency because I owe money. I've gone and spoken to the employees and manager, they say they don't see the payment, I show them proof of my bank account and out of nowhere they see it but they don't know what's going on nor do they solve the problem. Now I went and spoke to another employee and she tells me that they're charging me a fee for supposedly the debt I have. I'm going to cancel my membership at this gym, be careful with these people.

Don’t go to this gym if you want to drink water. I’ve been going to this gym for over a decade and it recently started going downhill. Did a recent renovation over the past year and the only noticeable change is they reduced the number of water fountains from two to one. This wouldn’t be too major of an inconvenience if it wasn’t for the fact that the only water fountain has been out of order for over a week. After several days, all management did to “remedy” the situation was offer half price water to all members. Members shouldn’t have to pay extra for a basic human necessity that has been out of service over a week. Very disappointing.

This gym really sucks. Their hours are terrible. It is the only one that I know of what they’re not open fully on Sunday. They used to be open 24 hours a day Planet Fitness then after Covid they changed it and on Fridays was open till 10 and Saturdays open till seven now, this one’s closed on Sunday after 9 PM Why pay for a fitness center? So fast forward a year I notice the charge in my card and brought it to the mangers attention and asked for a refund. Too many non reasons why they are not open 24 hours anymore...the cleaning thing is a wornout reason that makes no sense. What are your plans starting the 19th of March 2021...restaurants are open 100 percent on that day...and don't have to wear masks while at a table...when are you going to be mask free...or wear a mask if you choose

Planet Fitness is fine. I appreciate that they actually went back to 24 hours a day, 5 days a week post Covid. The equipment is also newer and better maintained than the Edge, which I left to join Planet Fitness. It's a bit goofy to me that they seem to be afraid of taking cash after Covid, but whatever. I give them 4 stars primarily because of the cash thing and because the staff in the early morning hours seem to hate their lives. Overall though, for what I do at the gym, I like Planet Fitness over the Edge.
