I use PF gyms around the country and this is a neglect ignored gym.
1- They haven’t bothered to upgrade from 10 years ago. You cannot scan your QR code the apologetic worker has to take your phone number.
2- the mats are torn.
3- One of each of the 2 Leg quad/hamstring machines are stuck and cannot adjust them, they are broken or about to break.
The machines haven’t been oiled. They’ve been neglected. The cleaning stations get empty. The gym is otherwise clean and the workers work hard. The neglect is coming from the top.

I have been to several Planet Fitness locations and unfortunately the New Britain location is by far the worst I’ve seen. Many of the machines are broken and/or haven’t been maintained therefore they do not function properly. There are only about 4-5 mats which are torn or broken in some way. This location has not upgraded to the new business model which is to incorporate more strength training equipment and free weights. The locker rooms are clean but the gym itself is not. If I had to guess the tanning beds bulbs have not been replaced for quite some time. As an avid gym goer I wish I had something positive to say but unfortunately I don’t.

I have the membership where I am allow to travel to different locations, I use the Bloomfield location, this location and also the Newington location, I have to say Bloomfield is by far the cleanest, coolest, (temperature) and the staff friendliest.., New Britain, AND Newington are ALWAYS HOT the fans are barely moving with the A.C. off or, if on isn’t working. When asked to turn the air on I am told the system is controlled by the manager and the manager isn’t in? Huh. It’s 100 degrees in here and no one has access to the fan or A.C.? That’s totally unacceptable! Someone can pass out,!!.. Staff at the NB location, just throw them away, they are rude, always on their phones or spending time socializing. I was in
this afternoon around 3,30, 4 I asked to turn the fan up ( which was barley moving) was told “the manager” meanwhile the young man with tattoos, and young lady acted as if I was a bother and totally cut me short because a friend came in, the young man with the tattoos!! he basically reaches over me to give whoever this person was a dap along with a Bro hug like excuse me! RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!! Fire the whole bunch of them! Meanwhile the bathrooms STAY NASTY. Why are the paper towels holders empty!! But there’s time to be socializing for hours?? Bloomfield they are constantly cleaning and it smells amazing. I really regret joining Planet Fitness altogether especially when I found out AFTER SIGING UP THEY NO LONGER ARE 24 hours in most locations!! Train your staff on Customer Service, and make the temperature comfortable so ppl can breathe it’s unacceptable for it to be 77 degrees outside and with no A.C. on the other staff having no access to the system.

Love this place. I've been going there for over 3 years. The only problem's are people who utilize more than one machine and can be bullies about it sometimes and some people sit on the machine and use their phone which can hold up the machine for over 20 min. Also, the sudden change in prices and an annual fee without notice. Also, they won't let you downgrade without having to pay the increased sign up fee that they charge to sign up. The new price is fair in comparison to other gyms and the staff is great. I highly recommend this place overall.

I’m giving 4 stars to this Planet Fitness because I’m an OTR truck driver and I been in a lot of Planet Fitness across the country and this is the only one charging me for eyes stickers while I have my Black Card membership. Just got out of jail and I can't get a black card or any membership with my mom paying for my membership out of her bank account.
I guess cash doesn't count for planet fitness when we want to pay everything up front.
Take the monthly fee, add the yearly cost, add the sign up fee and allow us to pay cash.

Clean, staff is decent to good, people are quiet or friendly. It isn't perfect, it lacks anything for boxing, interesting classes, can be slow, and the Sunday shift starts closing things early, though they let you stay till you finish, even if you go late. He’s the reason I recommended people to try the planet fitness in new Britain during the mornings. You know when he’s there I don’t have to worry about machines not being cleaned. I love planet fitness in new Britain! The staff are helpful and friendly, they always welcome me when I stop by for my workout. I never feel judged or uncomfortable during my workout and I utilize different amenities like tanning beds, massage chair and hydro massage beds. I always see staff members cleaning all the machines, wiping them down w sanitizer solution to insure the place is clean and well maintained. The manager is so awesome! She’s very helpful and helped me sign up for my membership and she also helped me pick out a good tanning lotion for my personal skin type. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking for a good gym with added amenities for a low price.

The team is welcoming and always with a smile. I always enjoy seeing the employees enjoy what they do it is not just a job for them and is good to see that. Overall experiences were good but after this evening I will be cancelling my membership. How do you just tell someone you will be right back and after ten minutes you don’t. Just say my next appointment is here. My first impression at another location was not good so I should have known better. After being a member for not even a month, I’m cancelling tomorrow. If you are looking for 1:1 training this is not the place for you. The new schedule for the trainer is not conducive if you work full time and long hours. Staff is friendly and gym is very clean but some staff lack professionalism, and etiquette.

I have a black card and thus I visit whichever club is easier depending where I might be and at what time. I have been going to a club near Hartford Connecticut, but grew extremely frustrated with how illogicallly crowded it get during peak hours (right after work). Tons of empty cardio equipment and an handful of weight lifting equipment. So i started searching for clubs near Hartford, but on my way home. The club in New Britain came up which has recently opened and it seems to be a better location in terms o a more logical an varied layout. People come here to workout (not pose in the mirror sitting on the benches talking on the phone). So, to sum it up; I've been going to the New Britain branch for a few months now and I'm beyond happy. From the installation, the subscribers, the employees, etc. Happy with New Britain's Planet Fitness branch.
