I've been going to this Planet Fitness for ten years and, sad to say, lately their commitment to basic hygiene has been absent. In October there was a day when there were NO FUNCTIONING BATHROOMS!!?? yet the place operated as if it were a minor inconvenience, telling people they could use the bathrooms across the parking lot at Home Depot. Earlier this week I notified the front desk that there was an old tee shirt that had been hanging in a locker for days and told them the locker number. When I went to the gym two days later the old shirt was still there. I notified the front desk. An hour later, it was still there. I'm considering looking for another gym and will advise my fellow gym rats why.

After a great lunch we decided to visit this location because it was convenient and wow, what a pleasant surprise. The gym was immaculately clean, bathrooms well stocked and maintained and great equipment. I also tanned and and really enjoyed their stand up bed. The staff were also great, friendly and helpful. Five stars guys

The manager “ Perry “ is absolutely garbage, ive been wearing my same footwear for years to your gym and never had an issue till today and all of a sudden i get asked to leave immediately? Meanwhile other guests are wearing the same thing and they were absolutely fine. Surprised he had time to tell me all of this in between sitting at his desk in the office and his flirting with the staff and guests. Contacted corporate and will be canceling immediately

I’ve been a member for several years, but I’m canceling due to recent changes. The removal of wall-mounted hand sanitizer, combined with members not cleaning equipment, has made the gym unsanitary. I understand it’s a low-cost facility and staff can’t monitor everything—but this is how people get sick. Germs don’t disappear just because the equipment is new. If you're concerned about health and hygiene, I’d recommend finding another place to work out.

*Called 2 times to talk to a “manager” first time I was hung up on, second time staff was rude when I mentioned why I wanted to cancel and manager was busy. Tried to send an email, the website wouldn’t load. This is just another scamy business that makes canceling impossible.

Men’s bathroom smells like someone died , not clean, for weeks now… there are no chairs or areas for changing after showering which ever other location has. Nothing to put your clothes on no hooks no chairs. There is also no water saver for bottled drinks you have to scoop out of the faucet like a normal water foundation which normally would be fine but all the other locations have them. Weak location good employees lucky they have talented employees or this would be the worst planet fitness on the planet

Roomy, great access location, lots of equipment and machines to create workouts with. 24 Hour gym 4 Nights a week. The Ab workout Section is excellent. Small shower stalls in the men’s locker room; but plenty of lockers. Bring your own locker lock. The lockers could be bigger; they are kind of small. 2 Stalls and Two urinals is too few for a gym this size at peak hours of usage! Just sayin. Best workout times are off peak hours which can be varified in advance of arrival at the gym with the PF App before you go so you can avoid excessive crowds - the PF Gyms are very popular in CT! I love the Walmart-sized PF gyms for the varied equipment, roominess and excellent air circulation.

The changes to the gym and additions of the new machines have been awesome. Seems much cleaner and inviting with more space for the workouts I'm used to. Would be great to have a mirror in that new back space that replaced the circuit workout. Overall great job! Excellent refresh of the gym.

Planet Fitness in Orange Ct. is my gym. Not necessarily unhappy with the way the gym is managed, if you don't count the hand sanitizer foam dispensers that are too few and too often empty.

My one complaint today is that trying to make a phone call to the staff to get any kind of information seems to made intentionally very difficult by it's design....menus lead to wating times with music which lead to more menus and more waiting time....and then when 10 min. of this nonsense goes by, the voice message "our staff is all busy, go on-line to find out what you want".....when anyone who frequents these PF gyms knows that the desk is NEVER left unattended and most of the times it's at least two attendents hanging around doing nothing or chit-chatting amongt themselves or in casual talk with members. The attendents are generally nice people but do they have to stand around doing nothing while members are trying to get through to them, maybe with an important question?

Is this Planet Fitness' idea of customer service, when anyone can sit in the gym 25 feet from the desk on my phone trying to get through to the two folks behind the counter... with no business being conducted other than their apparently fun conversation to pass away their idle time...???

Love that it's 24 hours BUT THERE ARE TOWO MAIN THI GS THAT REALLY ALL PLANET FITNESS GYMS NEED TO WORK ON! They want us to wipe dwn equipment and its understandable because of sweat but while I'm doing that the front staff is on thier pho e and not looking out for paper towel or the sprays being empty as well my contract doest say I have to clean while I'm here. But I donit before and after because of germs( just me) with this point the womens bathrooms don't even have Toilet seat covers so it's ok to be clean on the floor but germs on the toilet seat don't matter?Where skin is touching in an intimate place? Lastly the showers in some of these gyms have the changing rooms separate from the showers where I have to walk dwn the hall in my towel to go change or get dressed. I personally get halfway dressed in the shower !!! This should be like derby when I come out I'm still in a section to get dressed unseen.

Be careful with this place I canceled my membership last year 2023 after they send me email to pay $100 . I went again in 04/14/2024 for ask about the problem I spoke with lady to cancel again but same nothing fixed after that the manager he called and he said if I didn’t pay he send to collection I tell you something don’t do this mistake because I will sue you about fraud

The gym is clean and the machines are in good shape. The staff is also really nice. My complaint, which has been ongoing for about a year now is the poor quality of the tvs and the terrible programming. The sound doesn't work on several of the channels and the only thing they play are the news and sports. Hard to do long sessions of cardio with nothing to watch. Literally worst programming options of any PF I've been to around the country.

Edit: replying to Planet Fitness owner. I have asked repeatedly over the past several years to change the channel. I was told repeatedly they cannot be changed and are set by the owner...

That still doesn't fix the volume not working and I didn't even originally mention the TV's that are permanently green tinged since that's not a huge deal.

UPDATE March 2024: Thank you for finally adjusting the TV's, HGTV and the Food Network are now an option to watch making the experience so much more enjoyable!

Update April 2024: back to being awful, the volume and the sound for certain channels isn't working again on the TVs.

The equipment is all smooth, seem all brand new models on cardio. The size of the gym compared to other Pfs is huge compared to East Haven and Branford that I go with my black card been, even crowded plenty of available equipment in Orange and a plus I can walk out go to Home Depot my home away from Home lol
