I visited this location ready to work out, but the front desk associate, Shante, provided no real assistance. She insisted my account was canceled, even though my home club confirmed it was active. Instead of helping me resolve the issue or explaining the situation, she spent a long time on the computer without communicating anything and still wouldn’t allow me to work out. Very poor customer service and not reflective of what I expect from Planet Fitness.

Get rid of the no bag policy, its to our responsibility to watch our bags and make sure they are not in the way of anyone. I bring my own attachments because you guys dont have the strap I use for lats and i I bring handles for the cable machines becuase the ones at the gym are either mismatched or someone is using them. So I just bring my own so I can keep going. I also bring a chest vest to put barbell weights on to do the stair master so I can train for my job.. With this no bag policy, to have to go back and forth to the locker room is annoying. Specially if someone takes the equipment you were going to use. Im willing to sign a paper that relieves planet fitness of any responsibility of my personal items.

I dislike the new matrix cardio machines. Elliptical machines are much harder on the knees. Also eight ellipticals are fewer than needed. Treadmills were less cushioned on the running surface. Very disappointed.

I enjoyed going there for the walk, and the staff were very kind and friendly. They were patient while I communicated with them via notes, as I told them that I was deaf. They were also understanding to make sure I got what I needed.

Morning of Sunday April 13 around 8AM. Came to gym to workout. One of the membership barcode scanners not working properly, I had to scan several times and adjust brightness on my phone for that scanner to read barcode. This has been ongoing issue not just at Vernon ct but also at Manchester ct location. Planet fitness employee behind the counter was scanning candy bars on another scanner. If one of the scanners is malfunctioning, another scanner should be available to customer during busy morning hours. please can you have your employees scan candy bars during afternoon hours when gym is not busy. Do not care for the middle-aged African American manager’s attitude. Beyond rude and abrasive. Does not understand the meaning of customer service. His behavior (or lack thereof) causes my friends and I to drive out of our way to a different location, even though this is the closest one to us. Someone should really speak to this manager about the way in which he addresses customers and learning a lesson in humility. On countless occasions, his behavior has been very upsetting and ruined the gym-going experience. Do better Planet Fitness.

Experienced major micro aggression and racism here after asking for a bag, my partner was followed in to the locker room (which isn’t allowed) then proceeded to call their manager for unnecessary suspicions. In fact, the employees here always seemed a bit weird and timid around people of color. :) for a “no judgement” zone they do sure judge a lot.

I absolutely love Planet Fitness in Vernon, Connecticut. The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help you with any questions you may have. The gym is always kept very clean. All of the equipment, tanning booth, massage machines, locker rooms, and the floor itself is always maintained superbly. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who wants to do cardiovascular fitness, weightlifting, tanning, It is absolutely fantastic! I really enjoyed my experience with Mike from Planet Fitness in Vernon, CT. From the moment I walked into the gym I was greeted with a pleasant smile, body language that showed he was attentive, eye contact that made me feel seen, and an abundance of passion from him that confirmed my personal feeling deep inside that I have found my new gym home! I appreciated the tour he gave and how well articulated he explained the benefits of the machines and the packages offered within the memberships! Kuddos to Planet Fitness for always being a judge-free zone as this is exactly the type of gym I needed to humble me and come back home after years away.

Red light therapy, you should advertise it (all PFs should, yes or no).
Great staff. Only wish they had hotter water and typical like all gyms, the staff didn't let the soap disappear the last few hours before they close. And the extra privacy curtains for the entire shower area or outside the individual showers which is kind of rare, would be nice also
Other than that this place is great. This is my original home gym before I moved, but when I'm back in the area it's so great coming here. Even without the Tootsie rolls 😂

I love the Planet Fitness I go to. It's the most comfortable place to be for me. You never have to worry about anyone looking at you with judgement or glares. There are QR codes to show you how to use each machine, if you are unfamiliar. I love the hydromassage and tanning as well. My favorite bed is always available and clean. The showers have a great deal of water pressure and there is never any wait to shower or use a changing room. If you're looking for a great gym then Planet Fitness on Talcottville rd, is the place to go!

My only qualm is that some of the ladies tend to dress scantily and is distracting. I'm not saying they should dress like nuns but you're there to work out and not a fashion show showing your skin tight shorts and butt cheeks.

This gym is unbearably hot and its been a problem for years. From what I hear- someone up above won’t fix the issue. It’s a safety hazard.

Response to the Owner: I think this is part of the problem- you’re the Owner, telling me (a patron) to speak to the Manager. YOU’RE THE OWNER- I think you have more pull than I do.

I actually have spoken to multiple employees about the problem. Including someone who I believe may have been a manager. (they wore a black shirt). And they expressed to me that they were having a hard time getting someone (perhaps it’s the landlord) to do anything about the issue.

Update for all the updates. The paper towels have been much better. They did reduce the total number of paper towels stations though which is really annoying overall... But at least they've been filling the remaining ones consistently. I still don't understand why they have employees. No body is ever working or being helpful. I've watched brand new people stand around the front desk looking for help or to sign up. I almost started doing it myself since none of the children were helping... But hey. Maybe they were filling paper towels.

Planet Fitness Vernon has been my gym for years, ever since they took over the location from Cardio Express. Lots of newer equipment, well maintained, and a roomy clean environment. Respectful crowd and staff too. And at about $11 a month (with annual $40 fee), it cannot be beat. Try it out.

I have been a customer for many years and never had an issue... until recently. They recently hired an attendant who has poor customer service skills and she talks to people in a condescending manner. Just recently I called with an inquiry and during the conversation this attendant became belligerent and argumentative. I explained to her that I would not get into an argument with her and that I was just going to cancel my membership. Her response was "you can do whatever you feel like doing." So I did cancel and opened 4 memberships somewhere else. This "lady" needs to find a different line of work.

I was hesitant to share my concerns, but I can now see that billing is a common issue with this gym. I constantly get unauthorized charges placed on my account without any notice. I don’t even have a membership anymore, but they keep charging me for the membership that’s not even active. I had to ask my bank to step in and block PF which I also had to pay for.

Please give yourself a huge favor and think twice before signing up for a membership at this location. The manager Stephen is unprofessional. So is their assistant manager. They ignore you when you come in to solve the issue. I’m not sure why they don’t change anything after so many complaints. Horrible.

I constantly had issues with billing, getting double billed, and then management telling me that I would have the next few months free because of the inconvenience and then still get charged. It was a constant thing that went on, and I just got sick of it I honestly got sick of always complaining to the management ,really don’t like to complain. What a mess! Every Saturday or Sunday morning, I get there and the weights are everywhere. I know I could put everyone of those plates back in the proper place in about 10 minutes, Why aren’t they replaced every night when the place closes. The mirrors have never been cleaned, I see a lot staring at phones behind the desk….Your hours are terrible. When I joined, I joined a 24/5 gym! The stairclimbers are always down. At least 1 every single day. No one cares enough to fix them. Clean at least but outdated or cheap machines compared to the other planet fitnesses I’ve been to. Also they hate using AC here I swear. If it’s 70 degrees out and the sun is shining in they let everyone suffer in 80 degree heat. And no, it’s not like I’m just working out like crazy you could be walking on the treadmill and it feels like you’re outside on a summer day
