My 37th year with a gym membership. Finally found a home. New owner took over in July and the transformation is very noticeable. New equipment is on par with all the top gyms. Place is clean. Bathrooms are always maintained. All the staff are very personable and greet you with a smile.

Just like stated by others I was a member of Lost Breed who was not notified of transfer. Didn’t see the money coming out of my account for a couple months. Came in to cancel and the employee told me I would not see another bill from them. Here I am a month later and I am charged again. Called the owner and he told me to come down and fight him about it. Terrible business ethic. Guy will do anything for a dollar. I’m sure all the good reviews are by his friends or paid agencies. As stated by others it is against Connecticut law and they clearly just hope no one goes the extra mile.

Its under new management so hopefully they improve equipment selection and repair. Decent spot to train at of you are a no frills basic trainer. Managed to get what needed work, done. Layout can use a better plan.

I was a member of The Lost Breed gym in Cromwell, the location Powerhouse Gym just bought out, and was given no communication by either party that this transaction happened. I was away for two weeks on business and when I returned, I called to cancel (moving out-of-state) and was then made aware to my surprise. The woman on the phone explained that my membership was cancelled effective immediately (mid-July).

Today, August 1st, I was charged a membership fee. I immediately called and they told me that I needed to advise them 30 days ahead of time for the cancellation. That is Powerhouse Gym's policy, an entity which I have never signed paperwork with. I will dispute the charge on my credit card as I have not given this company permission to utilize my payment information. This is not a good way to start off doing business.

Chapter 420 Section 21a-227 of the Connecticut General Statue states:

“In the event of a health club closing or transfer of ownership, the buyer shall be notified of the change and provided with options regarding continuation or cancellation of the contract.”

The business owner refuses to provide me a refund pursuant to the statue above.

I’m genuinely impressed with how much it this gym has improved. All the equipment has been repaired or replaced, and everything is in great working condition now. The machines are smooth, the weights are well-organized. The cleanliness of the gym is also a huge step up. The floors and locker rooms are spotless

This place is awesome!!! A few years ago I wasn’t feeling the vibe down here, but the new ownership has really changed the entire experience. From the moment you walk in, you feel the positive energy in this gym. This is a community of people really getting after it with a very supportive attitude. Whether you're just starting your journey, or youre an experienced bodybuilder, powerlifter, athlete, etc, this place has everything. Definitely come check out this facility!! You won’t be disappointed. I’m super exited to have found the best gym in the area, and as an added bonus the murals are super motivating!

I’ve been to a lot of gyms over the years, and this one truly stands out.
