At Valhalla Fitness, we value learning above all else. Mastery of the fundamentals is key to advancing any skill and we incorporate this philosophy into every training session. Whether you are taking part in a group training class or doing a one-one-one personal training session, our coaching will arm you with the proper techniques to optimize your progress and achieve your goals.
Our first rule at Valhalla is to check your ego at the door. No one is above coaching, and every day you can come expecting to learn something new, not only about kettlebells, but also about yourself. You will leave every session feeling both mentally and physically stronger.

I’ve been a member for nearly a year, and it has quickly become my favorite place to be. The knowledgeable and supportive coaches, paired with a welcoming and encouraging community of members, create an environment that’s both motivating and enjoyable.

As a dog lover, I also appreciate the unique charm of the gyms dogs 🐶

I’ve been to several different gyms and Valhalla Fitness is by FAR the best. What sets this gym apart is Ben’s style of coaching. Ben is fully engaged throughout the entire workout. He is informative and ensures you learn to do the workouts correctly but in an encouraging way. Ben’s workout programs are deliberately planned and challenging for every fitness level. Prior to joining, I was intimated by the kettlebells due to previous injury. Since joining back in January, I’ve gotten stronger and become more comfortable with the exercises.

In addition to the classes, you’ll have access to body scans, a meal tracker, custom meal plans, etc for an additional fee.

If you love dogs, this gym is for you. I cannot recommend this gym enough!

Awesome workout!

I’ve been coming to Valhalla since the spring. My husband suggested I accompany him to one of his private sessions with Ben because he thought I’d enjoy it. I was intimidated at first, having zero experience with kettlebells, but Ben and Nicole were both very warm and disarming (being greeted by their sweet pups was a fun bonus too!)

Ben’s coaching style is encouraging, constructive, and creative. Coming from an education background myself, I really appreciate how Ben scaffolds his instruction and tailors his cueing styles to fit both my husband’s and my individual needs. I feel strong, valued and safe throughout the session! Highly recommend!

Finally a gym that cares about the individual! Ben is very knowledgeable and makes sure to implement his love and expertise into the work outs. He is always able to give corrections about form to avoid injuries. I appreciate that they challenge me by suggesting to increase weights when I sometimes don’t realize it’s time to progress. It also makes it easier to get up early when your greeted by the cute doggies. I can’t forget to mention the other owner Nicole, Ben’s wife. She doesn’t coach but you can see her on occasion giving the demos or running around planning the upcoming gym events. She tends to do back office operations. Sadly I moved out of state for work and haven’t been able to find a gym like this but when I visit home they allow me to do class drop ins. I just recently went back and they just did a fundraiser where the workout benefited a small business to help adopting dogs. The work out was easy for all ages and so many people members and non-members came out to celebrate for a good cause. This gym is truly a family from the moment you walk in their doors. Excited to see what this group does next!

Valhalla Fitness by far (Let me emphasize, by far!) is the best gym in Connecticut. Coming from the big brand gyms, this was a breath of fresh air. My goal when joining, was to allocate one hour a day to fitness but ensuring my time was spent efficiently and had the most impact. I was one to believe the group fitness courses could get watered down to accommodate all fitness levels, but this was not the case. The workouts are geared to all fitness levels, beginner to advanced and have you walking out the gym feeling accomplished. You also don’t feel like you are lost or alone amongst the group, coaching is almost 1v1 with focus on form and safety. The facilities are clean, modern, and spacious. With all these Pro’s… the only Con is that you haven’t joined yet!

I’ve tried a couple of different gyms in the area and my only regret is that I wasn’t introduced to Valhalla earlier. Ben, as well as the other trainers, truly are the best coaches around who continuously push us to push ourselves. One of the best gyms in CT! I’ve tried multiple gyms in CT and none of them compare to Valhalla.

Ben and his wife Nicole are so friendly and helpful. Nicole has designed and created such an aesthetically pleasing space.

Ben is an amazing coach with an excellent staff that truly care about their members. I have zero athletic abilities and Ben is so helpful and patient as he explains and perfects my form. He is highly motivating and somehow knows the goals of all his members. He is constantly adapting the workouts to meet the needs of every client. I’ve never seen a coach more involved and invested during a workout. You can tell he is passionate about his job.

The workouts are always challenging and adaptable for any level. Ben has a great mix of cardio/ strength. I’m constantly pushed and motivated to try things I never thought I’d be able to do. Form is a high priority at this gym. Ben will work with you to protect your back and ensure you are performing the exercises correctly.

If nothing else, come for the cutest three dogs that Ben and Nicole own. You can play with their puppy at the end of each workout. ❤️

Ben and the team are amazing coaches. They emphasize proper form above all else. The classes are small enough so that every member gets individualized attention.
Following a proper warm-up, each session begins with lifting demos and you get the choice of using dumbbells, kettlebells, or barbells. There is also conditioning integrated into each session. The workout split changes every 10-12 weeks so that you keep making progress but at the same time don’t get bored.
Bottom line, it’s a great place to work out and challenge yourself!

If you are a veteran athlete or completely new to gym life Valhalla is the place for you. As athletes themselves, the coaches are extremely knowledgeable about safety and form to prevent injury and provide a well-balanced workout along with providing necessary modifications to accommodate each athlete's unique needs. All workouts and movements can be modified to increase or decrease intensity depending on the goal of your workout. Valhalla Fitness is the best gym I’ve ever been to. Ben is an amazing trainer and what sets him apart from other trainers I’ve worked with is his breadth of knowledge and programming. He is continually taking classes to become an expert at his craft. Hands down the best gym I have attended. Ben is an incredible instructor whose emphasis on technique fixed several of my back problems. Went for the first time yesterday morning through Class Pass and I was extremely impressed! I don't typically write reviews but I had to for this gym. My biggest issues with group fitness classes are that 1) I always forget what exercises I'm supposed to be doing and 2) I never know if I'm actually doing them right. The instructor for the class I attended (who I believe is also the owner of the gym) pays close attention to every single person in the class. I never felt confused or stuck. He was always there to remind me of the exercises and guide me in doing the correct form. Not to mention, the intensity of the class was really up there! My muscles were shaking, my heart rate was up - it's the perfect mix of strength training and cardio. I highly recommend giving this gym a try! I know I will certainly be going back!

Such a great gym. I joined after several years of no exercise and I’m so happy I did. Ben, the owner, is such an excellent coach. He is always full of contagious energy that makes workouts a ton of fun while also making sure that I am pushing my limits.

Workouts are unpredictable and include both strength and cardio. There are options to every exercise so that it everyone has the right challenge. The class sizes are small enough that the coaches can make sure that everyone has correct form and it’s easy to ask questions. At the same time it’s nice to have a group of people to workout with. Every once in a while they will do group social events and you can really get a sense of a community with others that go here.

I started attending this gym in December 2022 and I tried to go 3-4 times a week. Ben is the owner and the main instructor and he's a certified kettle bell instructor. The fitness classes are structured as follows: the same class is offered 5 times a day M-F (3 morning, 2 afternoon) and on Saturday there are 2 identical classes. If you like to exercise in the morning or in the afternoon, you can fit one of these classes on your schedule.

The atmosphere is awesome, usually there are 10-12 people per session, which means that the instructor is able to give you a lot of attention and personal advice on form and weight used. You can go your own pace and you can adjust the difficulty of the exercise along the way. The workout is very eclectic, there are weights (and you can do variations of the same exercise using kettle bells, dumbbells or barbells), there is body weight (TRX, bars), there is cardio (air bike, rowing machine, ropes, sleds), and there is stretching. The class lasts for 1h and you really get sweaty at the end.

They offer 12-week challenges from time to time, and you can track your progress. Prices are reasonable (if you go the max of 6 times a week, it's about 7 dollars a class, which is unbeatable).

I highly recommend checking out this gym (they have a good deal if you want to try 3 classes with no commitment). I'm sure you'll become a regular customer after only one class (that's what happened to me).

I switched to Valhalla Fitness at the beginning of the year, and it has been the best decision I have made for my fitness journey. Ben (owner and coach) makes sure that we work hard to get the results we are working for. Every day I am learning something new or getting better at something I was already doing. Each day is a challenge and I leave class feeling great.

I started here at the beginning of a challenge they were doing. The challenge was not just about signing up and seeing how much weight you lost over the 8-week period – it was so much more! The challenge was about each of us having goals and achieving them, learning the proper techniques with the workouts, creating routines, and bettering ourselves as a whole.

The benefits were individualized nutrition plans/guidance, weekly body scans that held us accountable, and workshops that educated us.

Ben has a great team with him too! All the coaches have been nothing short of amazing. They even care about you when they are in class for themselves, even stopping their workouts to help you (thanks Aubrey!). Ben’s wife Nicole is a part of the team as well. While she is not a daily coach and we don’t see her at the early morning class often, she is there to support us all too - helping in the workshops and other behind the scenes activities to keep us all informed and motivated.

The results I have seen personally have been amazing! Not only have I lost weight, but my body has become more toned, and I have become stronger just over these few short months. Ben (and his team) are dedicated to our success and it is felt every time I am there!

The bonus? The cute doggies they have. Ben has his dog Killian there daily and when Nicole comes, her dog Able comes too. They really are so sweet and help to start your workout with a smile!

I have to start by saying that I have been notorious for bouncing around from gym to gym, trying everything from big box gyms to CrossFit. However, without a doubt, I have seen my greatest personal gains both in my physique and physical strength in the short 8 months since I have joined Valhalla. I have built lean muscle, lost body fat, and have definition and strength that I didn’t have before. I enjoy the focus on strength (barbell and kettlebell work) and especially love the challenge of the Metcon / cardio days. There is something to be said about intentional programming and a good coach who not only helps improve form, but also motivates you to perform at a higher level. One of the things I enjoy most about Valhalla is the versatility of the workouts and the way Ben caters the workout to meet people at their various fitness levels. Ben pushes me to my highest capacity and is amazing coach. Come check out Valhalla! Ben keeps you guessing with the workout programs - it’s a balance of strength and conditioning days always keeps me looking forward to classes. The experience at Valhalla fitness is unlike any other gym. I have been to several gyms over the last few years ranging from box gym to bootcamp to crossfit and this is truly a unique experience. The coaches are very knowledgeable and take the time to teach and promote proper form and technique. Ben’s passion for fitness and dedication to helping each member learn and excel in class you will not find anywhere else. The workouts are both challenging and effective and I am seeing gains in both strength and conditioning. I am watching my body transform in such a short period of time due to the thoughtful programming. I finally enjoy going to the gym again and the community that is being built here. The members are friendly and welcoming, the facility is brand new with top of the line equipment, and they have the two best bonus four legged assistant coaches.

I’m so glad i tried this place out! I travel 45 minutes every morning to train here because of the quality instruction and workout routines. I’m a qualified personal trainer and i know how important the right training is and there’s no better place in CT for quality workouts. Check it out for yourselves.

Valhalla is an AMAZING gym to workout at and Ben and Nicole are super helpful, encouraging, friendly, and push you in the right way. Their workouts are always so challenging. They focus on strength training with proper form more than any other group classes I’ve tried, all while getting that cardio in too. I would recommend it to anyone!!!
