I've been a regular at District Pilates for almost 8 years. I love it. I go to classes at the Petworth location. It's very near the Petworth metro Green line on Georgia Avenue. The instructors are terrific and the classes are small which means you get as much individual attention as you need. The studio is clean and pleasant. It's a warm, friendly, supportive atmosphere, and a great workout. I highly recommend taking classes there!

I have been going to District Pilates for 7 years. I really love their intermediate classes —and go to about 2 of these per week. The owner, Bailey, is an incredible teacher— but enjoy so many others as well especially Shannon. Highly recommend!!!

I started going to this studio two years ago when I was completely new to Pilates and getting back into working out after some health issues. The environment, instructors, and other clients were welcoming to me, and I have enjoyed going to classes there ever since. Whenever I’ve had injuries or issues with certain exercises, instructors have been helpful in providing modifications that work for me.

I’ve been coming to District Pilates for seven years and I love it! I have worked with multiple instructors over the years and had great experiences. It’s nice to have personalized attention from the instructor, which you can get with the smaller class sizes. The instructors are great at making accommodations for different ability levels and they were really great at adjusting the instructions for me when I was pregnant, to make sure the work was still safe for me. It’s a warm and positive environment where you don’t have to feel intimidated or uncomfortable if you don’t know how to do a certain move. The value for the cost is amazing too, especially if you buy a larger pack of sessions.

The instructors here are fantastic. They really care about their clients. They vary in their routines so you get the whole smorgasbord. I've been going here for six years honestly, I can't imagine weekends without it.

Best pilates studio in DC! I've tried so many studios and found most of them to be too beginner focused. District Pilates is the most consistently challenging, with a great mix of instructors, love the mix of reformer and chair in classes. I also find the clients and instructors so friendly. A really homey and community vibe.

Absolute favorite studio! Love the instructors and the community this place has built and feels like you’re working out with a small group of friends. Appreciate that unlike other studios in the area, District Pilates classes are always different and unique and after only going for a month now, my back pain is almost completely gone. I’ve only taken a handful of people but I’ve loved Julie, Gabby, Jose and Caroline in particular but look forward to trying out the other instructors.

Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to this studio after a particularly hostile and chaotic class last month with the owner, Bailey. Over the course of the class, she got increasingly agitated with us and started yelling (genuinely yelling) at us for doing things wrong and not listening to her cues — even though she really wasn’t offering clear cues. She spent most of the class complaining about how much she hates owning the studio, how much debt she’s in, and how much she hates her husband. She picked on one girl in particular so much that the student burst into tears and we had to stop class. It was atrocious. I am bummed that I won’t be able to support this local business in my neighborhood but I don’t want to spend money to be berated.

A cute Pilates studio right in the heart of Petworth. Classes are offered morning and night every day of the week for people of all abilities. The studio is clean and well maintained. Class prices are very reasonable. The space is perfect for a good work out session with just the right ambiance and music. The instructors are amazing. They are great with cuing and assisting you in learning the proper form. So no matter your abilities are you will love this studio. Don’t forget to check out some of their cool tie dyed merchandise with the district Pilates logo.

I’ve been going to District Pilates for maybe 8 years off and on, but I don’t plan to be off again! They’re the best by far in the city. Fun community of other people going to classes too - I’ve enjoyed talking to people I’ve met there since I moved neighborhoods.

District Pilates is my favorite pilates studio in the area. All of the instructors are kind and they made me feel comfortable (especially when I was new). I love the vibe they’ve created and all of the class offerings. I cannot recommend this place enough for people looking to expand their fitness routines!

I just came across this when booking my first class and went to book another session and these reviews are really confusing. I've been to about every Reformer studio in the city and this and the Shaw studio are the Best I've ever been to in DC and maybe ever. I agree with the last review. This studio has not requried masks since they were no longer mandated nor do they require vax cards. Maybe they saw someone in there with a mask which is that persons right but it's for sure not manditory. With all the other fitness studios out there, my first session there the instructor noticed every single one of my injuries and showed me what I should be doing and focusing on to help even myself out and improve my form. I think there might be a couple haters out here :) Life is full of them!

A lot of potential for this place! They have a great locale, not many other studios in this area. Their website is a pain to navigate on a phone. It's also quite easy to accidentally sign up for a class in their Shaw location. They don't refund after you make this mistake, which they informed me happens all the time.
They should improve accessibility by updating website, getting an app, or integrating with ClassPass.
I signed up for 5 classes with a beginner package special. I went to schedule my 2 remaining classes a month after purchasing and they were gone! The paid classes should not expire so quickly. Sad to have wasted so much money, esp. since I missed another with the Shaw booking accident. I hope they can improve and remain open!
