Excellent value. Free parking. Facilities are good. Spacious weight room downstairs, but for some reason the water fountain has been broken for 6+ months despite multiple inquiries How hard is it to hire a handyman to fix it?

The facilities and staff are pleasant but there are, as other people have photographed, plenty of pests. Not worth what you pay for.

Also talk about predatory pricing! Cancelling takes forever and you still have to pay! I cancelled before my one year mark and they still charged me an annual fee and the last month. I cancelled before understand having a 30 day notice policy but it’s not necessary in the slightest, just a money grab

This gym has one MAJOR issue. The roaches. Listen, I understand that it’s difficult to stop them from coming in. Whatever. My issue is that they don’t clean up the dead roaches for DAYS. I mean it. DAYS will go by before they are gone. Genuinely makes me sick to see them out. I come to the gym almost daily and am always so grossed out. It’s honestly a major distraction from my workout :( Please PLEASE just clean the dead roaches off the ground!!! The ones in the women’s room are USUALLY gone within a day but if one died under a weight set? Could be a week.

Your average gym. Staff always super friendly, but given the number of gyms in the DC area this golds gym requires additional investment and upkeep as it’s quite worn and outdated in comparison to other gyms in the area.

Update January 2025: After submitting this review and notifying Golds that I had filed a consumer complaint with the DC A.G. they refunded me for the full amount. I'm appreciative of the outcome and the team member that finally was able to help me but I wish it didn't take this level of escalation to cancel a gym membership.

Story: It took me 16 months to cancel and receive a refund after moving cross country.

I moved out of DC in September 2023 after a layoff to take a job in Los Angeles, CA. I emailed their posted contact address on 9/25/2023, 9/26/2023, 12/22/2023 requesting to cancel or be sent the information on how to cancel (you cannot cancel by website or their corporate office). There was no response.

I called the gym during business hours on 12/22/2023 and they did not pick up. I finally was able to reach them on 1/12/2024; the person who answered the phone couldn't help me and stated they they don't have access to the email on the golds website. They instructed me to reach out to the manager via email.

On 1/12/2024 I emailed the manager documenting what I've mentioned above. They responded on 1/13/2024 and stated they couldn't refund me because I hadn't submitted the form (the form was not provided on the golds website, by their contact email, the person at their front desk I talked to on the phone, or by the manager). They offered to cancel my membership immediately. I responded on 1/13/2024 and clearly stated "Please cancel the 2 person family membership immediately" in addition to requesting further review on my refund request.

The membership was not cancelled. When I was digging through statements at the end of the year, 16 months after moving, I noticed they had billed me almost $1,000 in biweekly increments since their manager stated in writing that they would immediately cancel the account. I emailed again and got a bounce that the email no longer existed.

After submitting this review and notifying another Golds email that I had filed a consumer complaint with the A.G. they finally refunded me.

Today is 12/4/24 and the only action Gold's gym has taken is to have the collections agency send me an email threatening me that i need to pay the false charges that same day....

11/17/2024: I had signed up for biweekly personal training sessions but I had to cut back on my expenses and when I tried to do that I had the same experience expressed by others in reviews. They ignored me after several attempts so I had to have my bank stop the payments, yet I was willing to continue as a member and pay as I scheduled PT sessions. On the back end it appears they were still charging me recurring PT sessions and knowing they had no basis to demand payment or address this with me ditectly they send their fake bill to an attorneys office to intimidate me. In response again i reached out to the gym and email corporate. When i called back they said they had removed those charges from my account and that is what I saw in the app, but then I get another letter and these fraud charges are threatening my credit score. So now I have to escalate this with this attorneys office, the bar association those attorneys are licensed under prosecuting illegal claims, they want to hide behind and submit all the strong evidence to the agencies that monitor this gym and that attorneys office. :) dont steal from consumers, Golds gym Van Ness.

It's clear this gym isn't a priority for the owners. They've been spending a lot of money on the new gyms in Dupont and Georgetown (which are really nice). Meanwhile this gym is falling apart. Floors haven't been repaired. Barbells are rusty, warped, or weird sizes. The squat racks are janky and there's only two. Not sure what's going on with what used to be the cycling room, would be great if it'd be repurposed. While the staff is generally nice, they stay behind the desk never rerack weights or check out the downstairs. There's been a big roach problem recently, it's not uncommon to see more than a few in one day. Wish this gym would get some love from the owners/management.

The temperature has been at unhealthy levels for several weeks now, but the management has taken no apparent steps to correct it. The temperature on the upper level is in the mid-80s, and downstairs, it is in the 90s. There is almost zero ventilation downstairs, esp at the leg area, so everyone is sweating profusely and complaining about the heat and that management isn't doing anything about it. I went to a different location on Saturday, just so I could work out in a gym that actually had air conditioning and ventilation. Went back to the Van Ness location yesterday evening, and it was 85 degrees upstairs. even though it was pretty empty. I didn't work out downstairs, because it was too hot, and there was almost no one down there. Went back to the Van Ness location today. I needed to use the equipment downstairs where it was just as hot as it was outside, but had to stop mid-workout, because I was beginning to feel signs of heat exhaustion. If the management had at least bought a couple fans to help with ventilation downstairs and a few portable air conditioners, it would show that they are at least trying, but they haven't. The staff are generally great, but the management at this location clearly does not care about the welfare of the members.

Staff is nice and friendly, but this location needs to be renovated/remodeled like the other locations. I swear a lot of the equipment looks like it's from the 90s. Also, they have a major bug problem. I have noticed 🪳 in the locker room and weight area. Often, there is a weird sewage smell coming from the locker rooms. Members need better gym etiquette. There is always weight plates left on machines, and some members just throw the dumbbells to the floor when they are finished with it. Don't understand the logic behind that but whatever 🤷

EDIT: Since writing this review they finally cancelled my membership and refunded me for the charges. So I updated from one star to three stars.

Worst customer experience. I have requested to cancel my membership two months ago and they still haven't done so after several phone calls, emails and in person visits to the gym. They say they're going to do it yet they keep charging my credit card. This place is a scam.

Friendly staff and good equipment.

UPDATE:
Downgrading my earlier review because of this gym’s deceptive billing practices. I was moving out of state and asked the front desk twice when I should cancel to avoid being charged after I left. They told me both times to cancel on a specific future date, which I did. Then I got billed for the next month and they said it takes 30 days for my cancellation to process. Why did their front desk tell me to wait to cancel knowing I’d be charged for longer than I needed? I emailed the manager about this and she basically told me it’s their policy.

I highly recommend people read the other reviews here. I didn’t until now and I am shocked by how many people have been impacted by this gym’s billing practices.

@Gold’s Gym at Van Ness, y’all have a good gym and location why go and ruin it by treating people this way? There are multiple other gyms within a few minutes drive from your facility. You risk pushing your clientele to your competition.

This gym is great! All of the staff members are super friendly and welcoming. The layout of the workout areas are also a plus. It is convenient to have the majority of the weights downstairs and all of the cardio upstairs. Going after work on a weekday you'd think it'd be super crowded, but there are always lockers available and equipment to use. I hope to stay around this area when moving just to keep going to this gym.

I have been trying to get my membership canceled but have no response from the gym managment Overall the gym is not bad. I enjoyed one of the classes. However, when I discovered that they had not honored the First Month Free offer and tried to get it fixed I have been ignored. I decided to cancel, but cannot get a response to those messages either.

Unfortunately, it seems they get you with contract language -- that you can cancel due to 'death, illness, injury, or change of address', then you still need to send a certified letter and doctors note if its illness or injury. I was told that I could cancel with no charges within 15 days and anytime after that. You really. need to read the fine print, which I didn't.
I wish I would have listened to these reviews.

I gave it two stars bc I have gotten good service from the front desk staff-- but silence from management.
and if you do decide to join, I recommend the BodyFlow class with Elizabeth. She's great!

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! Been trying to cancel my membership for 3 years. Keep getting credit threats and both this location and ABC are refusing to cancel my membership (haven't been in 3 years). They make it impossible to cancel or they threatened to ruin your credit. Do yourself a favor and go to a different brand that is more organized. I wish I could give them zero stars. I deserve a refund for all the headaches and stress this has caused me. Not sure where the membership fee is going, but it's definitely not being reinvested into the gym. Worn out, dirty equipment. Cramped and small spaces. Only two squat racks (???). There's always someone trying to clean the workout areas while they're in use, which is pointless. Thankfully, I tried the free trial before making the mistake to buy a membership - lowest plan is $60 a month, but that's not including their annual fee, and the fact that when you enroll, you'll pay for the previous month as well, and there's a multitude of bad reviews here about unauthorized charges, so beware. You'll be better off looking elsewhere.

For the price alone, this place/Golds Gym metro DC is unbeatable, especially if you’re looking for a place where you can do a self-directed workout. Moreover, the management and staff make it GREAT: Lauren is extremely responsive (when omicron happened, he let me pause my account for 3 months with no charge), and the entire front desk is super friendly and makes you feel at home when you come in. Significantly cheaper than a lot of other area gyms with the same equipment (and a sauna!); plus, you can go to any location in the DMV. There are the same issues you’d find at any gym (I.e., the occasional wait for equipment, some guys deciding they need to use 2 sets of dumbbells for a superset), but all in all I’d highly recommend.

I'm giving a one star review because this location has failed to provide me a refund of over $500 after multiple charges for personal training sessions that I did not authorize. I've been emailing with the manager for almost a month who said he is working on the refund, has cancelled my membership, yet I keep being charged for more personal training sessions and membership fees. I called this past week and spoke w/ another employee who apologized and agreed they are working on it, but literally after this call, another charge was charged to my account. I understand that refunds take time, but some of these new charges are in the hundreds and were far after the date when the staff confirmed cancellation of membership. I'm not sure if this is a location issue or just a Gold's national issue, but I want to warn everyone to not enroll in personal training sessions at this location because you may never be able to stop the automatic charges of $296.80.

It is too bad, because other than this, the location is nice, the gym is newly renovated, and the staff is nice. But I still maintain a one star review until these charges are resolved, refunded, and stopped because it is now over 3 weeks and no one should have their credit card charged hundreds of dollars for services that they have cancelled weeks ago.

Good gym for the price. They've been adding more equipment which is nice, but it seems heavily lopsided to what equipment people actually use. While it's good to see them adding more stuff, it might be nice if they got rid of some of the less popular equipment so it isn't so cluttered. Biggest complaint is that I can't change the sauna temperature, and it's stuck pretty low.

I can't believe this place is rated as highly as it is on Google. This gym is typically pretty dirty. The facility is old, and doesn't seem like it has had a good deep cleaning in a long time. I typically use the weight lifting area. There are two squat racks that almost always have a line in the evenings. Weights are typically scattered all over. Sometimes people will come in and play their own music from their own bluetooth speaker. No Golds Staff ever come down to the area, so don't expect them to say anything. The bathrooms have been a bit cleaner lately, but they aren't that clean. The lockers are kind of beat up. The place really needs at least one more squat rack, and it would be great if the staff people would look up from their cell phones once in a while. I wouldn't recommend this location. If there were another gym in the area I would change in a heart beat.

Update- 4 years later, Golds is still sending me spam email trying to get me to come back, even after multiple unsubscribes. Straight to spam. Also, I'm not going to message your brand Facebook page. Some people don't have Facebook accounts.

PLEASE TRUST THE REVIEWS - THEY WILL TRY AND SCAM YOU IT SEEMS TO BE A PART OF THEIR BUSINESS MODEL

I was a longtime member of this gym (5+ years) and I can only say good things about the facilities and gym staff, they have a lot of space and great equipment.

BUT like many others, I ran into problems when I tried to leave. They would not stop trying to charge my card, despite numerous phone conversations confirming to me that my membership was cancelled. They then sent my $300 "debt" to a DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY to force me to pay up under threat of a note on my credit report. So many people have similar stories to this in the reviews, in my opinion it seems like this systematic overbilling and overcharging is a part of their business model, they make it as hard as possible to leave and then wring every last cent out of you. There are dozens of other gyms in DC please just go to any other one and don't get scammed.

Generally speaking love this gym, love the staff, great location, great recent renovation. But lately, pieces of equipment have been “being serviced” for ages; common machines, like the leg extension machine, have been broken for weeks, so people have just started using it, which is of course a risk of injury as well. Also, wipes can be empty for days in the same dispenser. Other than that, watch out for the super crowded times when the high school kids get out and around 6 p.m.

This gym is the most convenient to my house. The staff are friendly and generally the gym isn't too busy and kept pretty clean. However, ever since the renovation, the sauna has been down (about 2 months at this point). Every time I ask any of the employees when it will be back, they always just vaguely say "soon". This is one of my favorite amenities to use after my workout, so this is extremely disappointing. And of course, we are all still required to pay our full membership fee. You also shouldn't keep paying members in the dark as far as the timeline for it reopening.

TLDR: The Van Ness - DC location has been extremely difficult to receive information about a refund that should have been processed at the beginning of March. This is still an ongoing matter in which I expect to receive an update about.

The sentiments of so many people in these reviews is resounding and I could not agree more, as this has been my exact experience. The management not helpful when cancelling your membership or dealing with payment issues.

On Saturday, 1/29 I visited the Van Ness location to check out the gym in consideration of joining. I was given a tour and rundown of membership packages by Ethan Spalding (he was pleasant to work with). I then decided to enroll in what was advertised to me as a 12 month rate of $25/month (Access Level 2). This promotion included a trial period with 2 weeks of access to the gym, group classes, access to GG's On Demand, and 1 free personal training consultation. I was told if for any reason during this trial period I decided to cancel my membership, I would be fully refunded with no penalty. That was a lie.

Because of my unexpectedly busy work schedule, I quickly realized that having a gym membership at this time is not ideal. I went back into the Van Ness site to canceled my membership/trial on Wednesday, 2/9. According to the Cancellation Questionnaire I filled out, I cancelled "Within Obligation Period - Rescission Cancellation / Buyers Right". On that date, I was told again that my membership would be cancelled with no penalty and I would be refunded the $25.66 payment I made on January 29. Instead of receiving this refund, I was charged "Club Dues" of $26.49 on Monday, 2/14... After my membership/trail should have been cancelled.

Once I realized an additional payment was processed and I had not received a refund, I contact the Van Ness site for status on my account and refund. They advised me that I was charged again because of a delay in management processing the cancellation request, and the refund had been requested and should be returned to my account in no more than 10 business days. Cool! I'm patient, it's $50. No big deal at that point.

[This part is long and boring] I was unfortunately apart of the Suntrust to Truist merger, so the card I originally provided was cancelled and a my new card was activated on Monday, 2/21. Fast forward to the last week of February. I realize there is still no refund. I contact again and am told the refund is still processing, I should see it "soon". Fast forward again to March 5. While on a work trip, I receive a call from the gym and am told, "In order to process the refund, I need to come back into the physical location." No explanation is given, they just say they need my physical card. I go back into the physical location on Tuesday, 3/8, and the associate I work with takes my new card information and says I should receive the refund "within the next few days". Great!

Not great. Still, no refund. Guys, I GO BACK AGAIN on Tuesday, 3/22. On this visit I speak to the General Manager, Lauren Evans, who realizes my new card information was not updated correctly on my last visit, which he says is why the refund has not processed. He reviews the request and tells me, "You will receive your refund in 5 business days." For everyone keeping a timeline, that should be on Tuesday, 3/29.

Upon checking my account on 3/30, I discover there is still no refund. I get a hold of Lauren Evans around 5pm that day for a status update on this refund. He then tells me he has "no way to track the status of the refund since it is something corporate handles". This makes no sense to me since this a business that deals with transactions all the time. He states that it should be processed in 10 business days (another extension) and he will keep an eye on it for me, contacting me with an update.

Still no update from Lauren. Still no refund. I still intend to pursue this issue and hope that GG can rectify this situation swiftly! And if a refund is never processed, at least others will see how this company handles business matters.

The billing around this place made for my "just ok" experience to be a TERRIBLE one. Despite being clear that I was only visiting DC for a period of 6 weeks, Kevin Smith (sales rep) lied his way into selling me a month-to-month membership without telling me that I would be getting charged an annual fee. His boss, Thone Ross (experience manager), showed no authority and, most importantly, no willingness to be helpful. If you're in DC, avoid Golds Gym. They're out to get you!

Sneaky, unclear cancellation and subscription policies. My partner and I were visiting family in the area for about 6 weeks and were told we could sign up for a month to month membership with no sign up fee or cancellation fees, just that we needed to provide 30 days' notice to cancel and that we would be charged biweekly. This turned out not to be completely true as we were charged an 'Annual Fee' of $75 per person' which we were not informed of earlier. Management was unhelpful when we brought this up. It's a shame, as the actual gym is decent and the front desk staff friendly. I simply hope we don't get charged on an ongoing basis in spite of our cancellation, as it seems to have been the case for many folks who have reviewed.

The gym is clean and well maintained, but BEWARE and heaven forbid you have an accounting issue with them. I started getting several odd changes and double charges; in trying to get the matter rectified I was not permitted to speak with anyone who cold do any thing or give me any answers. This process has been going on for over to weeks and has still not been taken care of because I have to go through a middle man who has no authority to do anything, nor does he have any answers. The process is ridiculous, meanwhile I've been charged over $200 in erroneous fees that they cannot explain, nor are they reimbursing. This is the second time I have had an issue like this with a Gold's Gym. Once they have your CC info you are screwed.

Do not go to this gym. I signed up for a 12 month contract and moved out of the DC area. I honored the 12 month contract and paid it through. Once the 12 months were up, the manager (Lauren Evans) refuses to answer the phone. Anytime you call, the front desk is anything but helpful. Lauren is always conveniently "not available." Now I am unable to cancel my membership because Lauren has not answered one email I have sent in the past month and refuses to assist. I have been told several times the only way to cancel is through him. He displays no professionalism. This place is a dump and a scam.

Have you ever had a customer service experience that's so good it restores your faith in humanity? I have, thanks to Mo (manager at this location). The gym itself is very well run and I love Gold's general philosophy (strength training prioritized). When I had to quit due to location change I initially had an issue with cancelling/billing. Mo CALLED me in response to my e-mail and we spoke to each other like gentleman (don't be an a-hole when you speak to managers - this is the least fun part of their job). He listened to my issue, acknowledged my frustration and acted on my behalf to settle the dispute. I was partially at fault in the matter and certainly he and Gold's could have hid behind policy and I wouldn't have really had much recourse. Instead they made things right so I could walk away feeling good about what was a great overall experience with Gold's. As a customer, I want transparency and authentic dealings - they gave me that here and I'm grateful - thanks Mo!

Very great gym. All the equipment you need. Great staff. No creeps or weirdos. Only thing I dislike is the moment you go just ONE day of your bill being past due, they send you emails saying "your membership is at risk." Like brah, it hasn't even been 24 hours. "At risk?" Get real. They really, REALLY want you to be late so they can snag that $20 late fee. I think that's where they clean up at so just make sure your bill is always on time. Wouldn't want those less than 24 hours of being past due, membership at risk emails ya know 😂🤣😭

I've been a member here for about 2 years and my husband joined after we got married. We're very pleased with the place. Week nights are a little crowded (especially Monday) but never so much that you can't do anything. Some of the equipment is a bit old, but it has everything you could wish for, and improvements happen incrementally. The staff are also all very kind and friendly.
After my husband's account got messed up because of an upgrade at another location, the manager here patiently helped us resolve it and made sure we got back to our original rate with no extra fees or charges. He was a little slow, but never gave us any trouble and got the job done. We'll probably happily stay here until it's no longer our neighborhood gym!

Typical gym issues, would love some bottle filling water fountains, they keep the dumbbells stocked downstairs but then you realize they’ve been taken from the upstairs rack. The gym itself is pretty big and has the potential to be great, but the gym management is the worst management I have ever seen in my life.

Mohammad, the head manager, has been rude and curt anytime I have had to speak with him in my time at this gym. Here’s a quick list of my bad experiences with the Mo.

1) He won’t let you finish a sentence EVER, and if you do actually get to speak, he doesn’t listen anyways because he knows he is just going to disagree with whatever you say.

2) He will blame you for things that employees are supposed to do (he insisted I used a piece of equipment, when I had never touched it and was on a different level of the gym than I was) and that I put it away. Then when I refuse because I didn’t use it, he claims “it’s my responsibility to keep the gym clean even if I didn’t use the equipment”. Sorry Mo, but that’s why you have employees. When he didn’t get it his way, he literally wouldn’t leave me alone for the rest of the time I was in the gym, coming up to me ever 5 minutes to randomly complain about something else or take me away from my workout. He literally called me “guilty by association”...even though I wasn’t associated to the situation.

3) Mohammad sent me to debt collections instead of responding to an email. When I became a member at this location, I had a membership at another Golds Gym that I was trying to transfer. Mohammad grilled me daily asking for my “member agreement” from my old gym, when he couldn’t have just emailed the old location to get it. I got him the agreement by contacting my old gym. Now, 8 months later, I get summoned by debt collectors saying I owe Golds for past member dues at my old gym because he never responded to my old gym head managers email regarding membership termination/transfer (This was just resolved by my old manager now).

4) Gym equipment has little-to-no upkeep. If something is broken, it’ll be months before it’s replaced or fixed. Dumbbells are all either loose and spin in the hand, or are missing rubber around the iron underneath, making one side of the weights smaller/lighter. Every single barbell in the gym is bent pretty bad from proper/improper use. I’ve had to fix equipment in the fly many times just to get workouts done. Pins will be missing from weight stacks on machines, plates will be missing.

5) the gym itself is just dirty. I’m not expecting some lab quality cleanliness, but this place is a mess.

6) A member got locked in the gym while he was changing in the locker room trying to leave since the gym hit closing time. He got locked in the gym, had to call 911 asking for a way out, and then got scolded by Mohammad for getting locked in the gym. Makes sense, right?

7) The superiority complex that Mohammad has makes him unbearable to be around. I once stood directly in front of him at the front desk waiting to purchase a drink, only to have him blatantly ignore me for well over two minutes before rudely asking “is there something I can do for you”.

8) The gym parking lot has zero order to it, and is so oversold that finding parking is actually impossible if you go during any remotely busy time.

9) Female employees being told to clean the men’s locker room during peak gym hours with men changing inside the locker room. I’m pretty sure this violates every health and safety law ever made..? I watched a man have to awkwardly tell the woman to stop working and exit the Locker room so he could comfortably change. Not something you should have to worry about in the men’s locker room at a gym.

10) God forbid you use equipment to train with. Mohammad told me and another person training once that we were “killing him” because we had used gym equipment, alone, in the group exercise room. Are we not supposed to use the equipment we pay monthly dues for?

I’ll leave it at these 10 items. The list could continue, but that’s not going to help anything. I think the point has been made. The employees at the gym are all great, and the members in the gym are awesome too. It just sucks that it has to be ruined by one guy each time.

I have been a member at this gym for 7 years and as of Monday 03/03/19, I will no longer be going to this gym. I will not recommend it as well. Monday I was searching for a waist trainer, and I was not able to find the one I used. I grabbed the next waist belt I could find and it turns out that it was another mans belt. He was visibility upset but I returned the belt. I had no clue that it was his belt and once I found out, gave it back and apologized to the young man. Two seconds later, the General manager MO DIRIE comes over and tells me we need to talk. He immediately questions me asking why would I do this knowing it was the others guys belt. I told him about sixteen times that I did not know it was his and returned it immediately. I also attempted to apologize and shake the young mans hand. This manager kept telling me that I knew it was his and I shouldn’t have taken it. In customer service, a situation is de-escalated by getting both sides and finding the resolution. At the end of this, the service I received left me feeling horrible. As a paying customer, I did not feel I had any rights to explain myself. He was rude to my friend who was a witness to the situation and tried to explain it. He told her she needs to stop talking and mind her business. This was not a matter concerning her. But did not tell the mans friend who was with him to calm down. This manager left a very negative impact with me about this location. Horrible customer service and people skills

Golds in the greater DC area is really hit or miss. Once you sign up you’re a part of the network and have several options. This is the best gym in the network. 2 floors of equipment. Sauna. Showers are always clean. And if something breaks it’s usually replaced pretty quickly. My one complaint (and it’s so petty) is they don’t have water bottle filling stations and instead have one set of working drinking fountains.

I prefer this and the Falls Church location and, if you live in NE DC/work in NOVA, those two are all you will ever need.

Great till you need to cancel. Was a member there for a year paid extra so I could be a month to month member with no contract. Canceled Oct 18th. But they kept billing my CC. Put in a block. They changed their merchant ID 3x now to get around my block. It is now Dec and if I check how many times their transactions that was denied they have tried charging me once a day. Even though I canceled 2 months ago. My advice is pay then with a prepaid card when you cancel.

Update: Do not bother with this gym shady as it comes. After filling my dispute with my CC which tried to contact gold's they did not respond instead sent a collection agency to call me.

Update 2: Month after collection agency called they have the audacity to send me a notification that my account will be sent to collection. Think you already did that just saying.

The worst gym I have EVER been a member of. I move a lot for my career and so I’ve been a member of quite a few gyms.

-There are two semi-working water fountains.

-Some of the equipment is falling apart.

-The sauna never worked in my months of being a member.

- The restrooms were dirty and poorly kept.

-The “management” won’t call you back when you need help resolving issues with your account (still no call back).

- I “took” a cycling class one day, but the instructor showed by 20 minutes late. That was shocking. People move their schedules around to fit in classes! **There is such a sense of disrespect at this gym, that I really hope you shop around and find better quality for your money. You deserve to.**

Well, after waiting 10 minutes for anyone to show any interest in us wanting to sign up for a membership, we were told we would have to spend 15 dollars a person to try the gym for what would amount to maybe 2 hours of working out before committing to a full membership. The staff did not seem interested at all in providing anything resembling customer service. Not sure what world they’re living in over at Golds, but we’re not interested in a membership anymore. To clarify: this was because they hadn’t properly staffed their gym and literally could not even sign us up; and, they were unclear if they could even then let us try the gym.
