Madabolic is the only workout that I’ve been able to consistently stick up and actually see results. Not only to I notice results physically, but my energy and blood sugar levels have gotten so much better. The community is amazing and I’ve met so many friends as well. So grateful for mad and highly highly recommend it!

Great gym with friendly members and coaches. If you come from a powerlifting or weightlifting background and want to try something more class driven or athletic based this is a great choice! The different weight levels are well calibrated to anyone looking to improve their strength and endurance. The value to price is pretty well aligned especially compared to other gyms in the area. MADabolic also really encourages social events centered around fitness which can be really great for meeting cool people if you're new to the area. Highly recommend. Only thing I'd like to see improved is a more transparent look into what workout we are performing for the day (in addition to the 3 general types) so that I can make sure I'm appropriately resting those muscles. I also still have yet to try their nutrition guide, but it's on my radar to do!

I've been a member at MAD for 3 months now and cannot recommend their classes enough. This is a world class strength training gym with first-rate trainers. As a long-distance runner who just completed and substantially PR'd in my 2nd half marathon, MAD classes have become an integral part of my training cycle. It simply would not have been possible to achieve my race day goals without the help of all the coaches here. The classes themselves are highly challenging and at times fast paced, while also fun and engaging. Each coach brings their own personality and charisma to the workout. Highly recommended for athletes of all abilities, especially runners looking to build long-range durability and strength. Just an all around great investment that your body will thank you for!

Just an update to my review below...I love this gym even more than when I started two years ago! The workouts challenge me and are varied enough that I don't get bored, even going 4 times a week. Highly recommend trying it out!
MADabolic 14th Street has quickly become my favorite gym in DC. The workouts are great, and I see a huge difference in my strength and form! The staff is amazing - everyone is so friendly and not at all cliquey like you find at some gyms.

MADabolic 14th is the best gym I’ve ever been to! In the over 2 years since I’ve joined, I’ve noticed a significant difference in my strength and overall health. The training staff is knowledgeable and attentive and really supports your form and technique. The community at 14th is also unmatched- people are so supportive, encouraging each other to lift and feel their best. Love that 14th is my home!

I've been going to 14th St MADabolic for about 6 months now and I feel stronger and more capable about my weightlifting than I ever have. I have almost always lifted weights on my own and other than watching some YouTube videos, never really knew if I was moving well. The trainers at MAD are incredibly knowledgeable and are not just cheerleaders but real coaches who know what they're doing.
And that's not even the best part. I actively look forward to going to the gym because I've made quite a few friends there. It's a very welcoming and warm community.
And because of this, I've started onboarding to be a coach myself and I can vouch for the extensive training and high-bar they set for the coaches. It's a great gym and I highly recommend it.

Can’t say enough positive things about MAD. I joined at the beginning of my transition from college athletics to non-competitive fitness in 2020 and I have stuck with it since. Five years later, MAD still provides equally challenging workouts with an emphasis on strength and holistic health. I love the mindset of the coaches and their rejection of toxic fitness culture!

I have been a member at Mad 14th since January 2023 and it has been transformative for not only my fitness but my lifestyle in general. The trainers are knowledgeable, clear and motivating (and not cookie cutter athletic trainers either!). I played D1 sports in college and this is as impactful, if not more impactful, than the workouts we had with team personal trainers. The people at Mad14 are also top notch; I moved to Logan Circle not knowing very many people and have made lifelong friends with the women of MAD!
P.S.
For whoever is complaining about being locked out, be on time next time. I for one appreciate MAD’s commitment to timeliness; take your fitness seriously and prioritizing arriving on time. It’s disrespectful to the trainers and the other attendees to think you can show up late. Grow up.

I shopped around several gyms in the area and Madabolic was the best I found.
The coaches here are incredibly knowledgeable and attentive — they don’t just lead the workout, they actively help you improve by correcting your form in a way that’s encouraging and easy to understand. What really sets Madabolic apart to me is the atmosphere: the classes are intense but totally inclusive, with zero pretentiousness (a lot of other DC gyms turned me off because they seemed kind of pretentious or cliquey.)
There are plenty of chances to connect with others outside of class, making it as much a social experience as a fitness one. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get stronger, learn proper technique, and meet some awesome people along the way.

I've been going to MAD 14th since summer 2023 - nearly 300 classes in and hopefully many more to come. I'm picking up weights that are way beyond what I would have ever reached for in other group fitness classes or on my own. MAD provides a structured way of building strength through progressive overload that takes the thinking and guesswork off your hands. The coaches are great - positive and fun but also quick to guide you if they see your form slipping. If you're looking for a supportive environment that keeps you accountable, this is the place for you.

Was obsessed after my first class. And in the 2 months I’ve been at MADabolic so far, I already feel so much stronger. The program is really well done, every class is challenging yet fun, and the entire staff is awesome! I particularly appreciate how well-trained and knowledgeable the instructors are. Even in a large class, the instructors are hands-on: always willing to answer questions, give helpful corrections and feedback, and motivate us to do our best.

Overall, MAD 14th is excellent.
The coaches plan the classes ahead, and make sure the exercises are done correctly. The classes never feel repetitive.
The coaches and staff are nice and friendly.
The members are also friendly, and supportive.
Location and facilities are great.

The workouts here have been awesome so far! I haven’t strength trained in 8 months and the classes are intense, but doable. They are great about giving alternatives for moves that are not accessible to you if you have joint issues, injury recovery, or just can’t do the move. All of the trainers have been encouraging, welcoming, and accommodating. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone who wants to strength train and get a great workout regardless of your level.

Had an absolute blast at MADabolic! A group of 10 of us took a Durability class with Cam. She led us through prep stretches, taught us each of the 5 circuits, then let us werk! I felt supported and super strong. Amazing playlist, good energy, clean space. 10/10 experience!

As someone completely new to strength training, I can’t say enough good things about MADabolic! From day one, the environment has been so welcoming and inclusive. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and go above and beyond to provide encouragement and motivation. They always take the time to ensure you’re using proper form and offer great modifications if you’re dealing with minor injuries, which has been a huge help for me.
I’ve taken classes with many different instructors, and the level of service is consistently excellent—it’s clear they all genuinely care about your progress and experience. I always leave feeling stronger and more confident. Highly recommend to anyone, whether you’re just starting out like I was or you’re more experienced!

Great Workouts. That is why I am giving it 4 stars.
However, I'm not sure I felt the sense of community and personableness you get at other HIIT gyms.
I had actually been doing Elevate for the last 6 months. My girlfriend convinced me to give Madabolic a try.
Today would have been my second class during our 2 month membership. I was turned away at the door for being 4 minutes late after driving there in a snowstorm. I was only 4 minutes late because my car got stuck in the snow on my way out of my buildings parking lot and I had to dig it out for a few minutes.
When I arrived 4 minutes late, I was turned away and told that letting me in would justify people coming halfway through the class and disrupting everything. I was 4 minutes late during a snowstorm.
Any other time I would have understood. But the fact that they could not give people 4 minutes of grace during one of the biggest snow storms DC has has in ages is ridiculous.
I've seen this kind of grace at Elevate and other gyms. It creates a wonderful sense of community and creates relationships that keep you coming back.

I’ve tried almost every fitness studio brand across DC, and I really love madabolic, especially the durability days. Their workouts incorporate so many different kinds of exercises, some I’ve never done before and I enjoy the variation! All of the coaches are so nice and really pay attention to correcting form. it’s a great community :)

I joined MAD about 1.5 years ago, and haven't looked back since! All the trainers are so great, they care a lot about proper form and safety and get to know all of the members individually. As someone who is in a fat body, group workout classes can be a bit overwhelming. I felt welcomed the second I walked in the door, not only by staff but by others in the class. The trainer explained everything very clearly. There was a variety of weights and flexibility based on ability. During the workout I got great feedback and encouragement. Everyone was kind, supportive, and encouraging. Signing up was easy! Happy to say I’m not part of the MADabolic crew!

Madabolic is great! I signed up for a full year membership and absolutely love it! I go in the mornings before work and I always leave so happy. It’s not hard to workout 4x a week when they have a ton of class availability & different class times. The coaches are supportive, energetic and fun! They make you smile, encourage you & give you good feedback. Madabolic is a gym that cares about you & your form. The workouts are a good variety & I never get bored. I was disappointed by the lack of empathy shown during my recent experience. As someone who has faced significant health challenges , I hoped for more understanding and support. I also found the communication style and owners threats to remove my review quite disappointing. I believe a compassionate approach would greatly improve the experience for others. I do not find their workouts are worth $284 a month in any case.

Love this gym, second circuit training class gym I’ve been a member of and before that a plethora more of gyms I’ve tried. I appreciate the attention to detail on form before and during class. I just moved into the city looking for a new home gym and this place made me feel welcomed and connected. Besides that I really like their program, it’s very mindful and strength focused which I felt like in some other similar set ups can be so fast paced/high impact it starts to feel more like cardio, feeling the wear & tear on my joints. MADabolic is the perfect gym to build muscle in a long term way no matter where your starting point is. It’s well balanced and sustainable.

MADabolic is by far one of the best fitness programs I’ve participated in. Group fitness classes never used to appeal to me. They were either too cardio focused or just didn’t fit into my schedule. A couple friends of mine told me to check out MAD, and I was hooked on day one. It rounds out my weekly exercise regimen so well and is the perfect combination of resistance and functional training. Shout out to Drew, CG and the whole 14th St Studio crew for bringing the energy and creating a highly motivating environment for achieving one’s fitness goals!

As someone who has been to seemingly every gym in the DMV, MADabolic is by far the best. The programming is well thought out, the trainers care about their members both inside and outside the gym, attention to form is a top priority, and the results speak for themselves. Before joining MADabolic, I was lifting independently and joining random classes on ClassPass. But I found myself skipping constantly and feeling disengaged/ dreading working out. The workouts, the people and the energy at MAD have challenged me and motivated me to be more consistent. I’ve learned a lot of new exercises in class, and the trainers are always there to make sure that proper form is the top priority (as someone with past injuries, this is super important to me)!

I have been going to MAD 2-4 times a week for about a year now and it’s great. The training is challenging and I have seen my core strength improve. I like that the program is constantly changing but is set so you know in advance which keeps me engaged. The best thing about the classes are the instructors who are very knowledgeable and friendly. They walk around the class the entire time giving corrections to your form and tips on how to perform the exercises to the most potential and limit possibilities for injury. Lastly, the gym is SUPER clean. That is something I value.

Before starting MAD, I had no clue how to lift properly. I was doing Barry’s bootcamp 3 times a week. I was getting injured regularly and my body felt so run down week after week.
Now as a MAD member, I know how to lift properly, I understand the importance of lifting, I have a better relationship with food & I respect all parts of my body.

I've just finished five classes and I have to say that the coaches come around and provide personal attention, I was concerned with some tension on thelower back, they even referred me to some exercises from the from an official spine health organization. They put in effort to create an atmosphere of we are all in this together!

I have been doing pilates for the last 2 years but was looking to move my body and build strength differently. Since mid-January, I have been consistently attending MADabolic classes four times a week (in addition to two pilates sessions), and I can honestly say that I am a lot stronger than before!
You can tell that MADabolic approaches its method very intentionally and curates an achievable and challenging workout plan that anyone can follow at their own level. I really appreciate this, because I don’t gym.
Each session lasts for 50 minutes, including a warm-up and quick explanation. You know when you are 20 minutes into a yoga session, and you still have 40 more minutes to go…and you dread every minute? I never feel this way about MADabolic; the session flies by real quick.
What really sets MADabolic apart from other studios (I’ve tried almost every) are the coaches. They correct you, hype you up, and challenge you. My favorites are Corbin, CG, and Camdyn (but everyone is great honestly).

LOVING MADabolic - the workouts, the coaches, and the community! The workouts are strength-based HIIT and have really great variety - I've been going for about 1.5 months now and keep being introduced to new equipment & moves & ways to build strength. I particularly enjoy that there's always a boxing component (punching is such a great stress reliever!). It's intense but do-able and makes you feel so accomplished after!
The classes are limited to 25 people max so the coaches are able to give great individual corrections for form. Everyone is friendly - like a "sports team training together" kinda vibe.
Also appreciate how easy it is to communicate with the team via text. The one downside for the 14th St location is lack of a shower, so makes it a little tougher to fit in a workout here on the way somewhere else.
Bottom line - give it a try! I fell in love after the first class...

I’ve been a MAD member since last year and I can confidently say that I’ve never been in a greater shape. The workout is structured in a way that anyone can achieve their fitness goals and the trainers are there to help you at all times. They will correct your form to prevent you from getting injured and will constantly push you to reach your max. MAD is part of my routine and I can’t think of my week without going at least 4 times. Highly recommend.

This gym is great. I have never really considered myself to be much of a gym girl, but after much coaxing from two friends and just feeling sluggish from the summer, I joined in September when the gym opened. In a space that could certainly feel intimidating, the coaches take special care to focus on community building and meeting you where you are. I started with 8 classes a month and upped to unlimited because... I guess I love going to the gym now?! Definitely worth a try. The team is great here.

Since moving here in 2021, I was looking for a training program that catered to the individual regardless of level while also created a community to meet new friends and motivate one another. MAD is super motivating, has a top notch coaching staff, and is a fun way to meet new people. As a runner with a goal of breaking a 3:30 marathon time, I came into MAD without a ton of lifting experience. I told the coaches my goal and have felt really supported. They've looked out for my form and encouraged me to challenge myself. The classes provide a ton of variety throughout the week, so no way of getting bored. Definitely a place you can go with little to no experience lifting and get the attention and support you need to get started and stay consistent.

MADabolic has been one of my favorite workout classes I’ve tried. Between the friendly environment, helpful coaches, and the variety of exercises it’s a class that I look forward to attending. It’s such a welcoming environment both from the other individuals and with the coaches remembering everyone’s names. One aspect I also love is the lack of mirrors in the gym. It’s nice to focus on the workout without worrying what I’m looking like.
Also, knowing that if I need to modify an exercise the coaches are always very accommodating. With my knee injury I’ve attended other classes sort of worried about it being too difficult or not getting in a good enough workout. Drew and Camdyn have both been so helpful with this aspect and with correcting form. MAD truly has been the reason I’ve been so consistent with working out.

Huge fan of MAD at multiple locations I frequent. The workout is never boring and has 5 tiers ( as far as heaviness of weights and Anerobic output) to choose from, so whether you just want to maintain a high level of fitness or optimize and continue to build, you’re covered. Workouts never boring and while being a highly social environment ( happy hours, clinics, great promos), it never has that yucky exclusive cult feeling. The trainers are all well qualified and both patient and encouraging. At 14th Street: You can’t not love Drew and CG who are front runners/ on the schedule regularly.
Been a member for a few years now and it would be hard to let go.
