MADabolic has been just what I needed! I have been doing the classes for two months and even though the classes are quick (50 minutes) they are effective. I’ve noticed my midsection is tighter, legs more toned and I’m stronger. I’ll be 48 in two months and so I’ve really needed to shift to a strength-based workout since whatever I used to do doesn’t have the impact it used to. These guided workouts at exactly what I was looking for to increase strength and accountability. The best part is that the classes are fun, fly by and I really appreciate the supportive coaches at the DuPont location.

Great gym with top tier instructors. Workouts are both fun and challenging - and always changing, so you never get bored. Instructors pay close to attention to your form, which I really appreciated. I was on a lengthy road trip that brought me through DC for a few days and needed a place to workout while here. Found MADabolic through luck - and I’m so glad I did! The staff and trainers made me feel welcome from the minute I walked in the door. The workout (work-rest-repeat) is challenging but fun. Been attending classes here for almost a month and a half. The workout plan is different everyday, the instructors are attentive to proper form, the Madabolic staff/trainers are great, and I leave the class feeling like I got a full work out in the 50 minutes. The work out includes a good warmup start. As someone who finds going to the gym on a regular basis challenging- I’ve managed to go to 29 classes. MADabolic provides sufficient novelty that I am not bored. Even if I take the classes on the same day and time, I know the program and theme will rotate. Highly recommend!

I’m a “fallen crossfitter” who struggled to find the right fitness program after undergoing wrist surgery in 2016. After slowly working my way back to optimal strength with an awesome personal trainer, I was eager to find a fitness routine that mirrored my previous crossfit community but lacked the risk of injury. MADabolic has been all of that and more over the past 4+ years! So much so, that prior to MADabolic H St opening in 2019, I made the commute from DC to MADabolic Arlington several days a week for TWO YEARS simply because I love the program so much. The coaching is top notch, the programming is fool proof and the community is awesome! In my opinion, MADabolic is perfect for anyone in a gym rut or struggling to find the right program. I started MADabolic in February after the Cherry Blossom 10 miler hosted their mixer there. It has honestly been one of the best choices I’ve made. If you are looking for a workout that has a lifestyle approach to it, then I suggest you sign up with MADabolic, specifically, the Dupont location. I started taking classes there using Class Pass and we all know how limiting that can be with scheduling. I decided to sign up for unlimited classes and I am so so happy with my decision! It is an amazing investment. The classes are really good and I won't lie, for someone who doesn't care about working out, I find myself going at minimum three times a week. The classes challenge you in a good way. You will feel the burn for sure! The staff is very kind and super helpful. They understand everyone is at a different level and will work with you to ensure you are doing things right (mainly not to cause injury). The music playlist is the bomb.com (can I still say that? lol) one of my favorite things that gets me pumped up. I 10/10 recommend.

I joined MADabolic after a long stretch of travel that left me in a bit of a summer funk, and I needed something to help me get back into a fitness routine. Honestly, I first tried it out because it's just a stone's throw from my home, and I thought I’d only stick around for the summer deal. But after a week or two of classes, I was hooked.

The coaches are all unique in their own ways, and they bring a really supportive energy to each session. I love how the class sizes are just right—big enough for a motivating group vibe but small enough for personalized attention. The coaches are great about correcting form without ever making you feel bad, which I really appreciate.

Honestly cannot rave about this gym enough. Initially tested it out because I was trying out new group fitness classes with a friend, and how lucky I was that I did & found this community! I have only just signed up as a member this past week, but have already fallen in love with this place. Each time I have been in the studio since my intro, the coaches / staff have been just as attentive and really take the time to help correct form and push you to be better. They all take such genuine interest in their members. I have taken many group fitness classes over the years, but the individualized attention from a coach is not something I have experienced anywhere else and has been such a nice change of pace. Starting coming to MAD this January and immediately loved it! As someone who has tried their fair share of fitness classes this one is different because they actually give you 1:1 coaching and have specific classes that have longer work periods. I was always troubled that every class is rush rush rush. Throwing around super heavy weights and switching between movements so quickly felt dangerous. I love madabolic because there is such a variety of work times - some classes are 15 second work periods and some are as long as 2.5 minutes. I’ve never experienced the same workout twice and everyone is so friendly. Truly cannot recommend MAD enough!

I started going to MADabolic 4x a week three months ago and absolutely love it. I had experience with group fitness before (SolidCore, Barry's, Equinox classes) but more recently had been powerlifting on my own at Equinox. I decided to switch to MAD because I wanted to avoid injury (so was looking for technique/form adjustment from trainers), external motivation/accountability from a group fitness environment, and a progressive overload program that I didn't have to think about. After three months of 4x a week classes, I've seen really significant increases in strength and improvements to my form, and I've addressed strength imbalances (e.g. I had pretty weak lats and shoulders, and was also a lot weaker on my non-dominant side). I can't wait to see how I'll improve over the next 3 months and years, etc.

Top reasons to choose MAD:
1) EXCEPTIONAL trainers. There is such a difference between the form coaching and adjustments from MAD trainers vs. other group fitness classes.
2) Expert programming. I love how thoughtful the programming is; it's not just random stuff to get a "calorie burn." It's all part of a year-long plan to build strength, power, stamina, agility, mobility, etc. You can also add nutrition programming, which is a great complement.
3) Affordability. In the DC market, MAD's pricing for monthly unlimited classes (or 10 packs if you prefer that) is really, really good. I feel like I'm getting the quality and attention of 1:1 personal training (which is like $100+/hour) but with the fun, motivating environment of a class.
4) Responsiveness. MAD is the opposite of a soul-less chain gym. The owner, GMs, trainers etc really care about feedback and constantly engage members 1:1 both in person and via text—with a quick congrats/"great class today!" message or request for feedback about adding new class times.
5) Cool people/vibes. All the trainers and the people who train at MAD are so welcoming and will introduce themselves to new people in class and give you a high-five after. Music in class is great. There are lots of social events, a WhatsApp group, specialty clinics, and even charity events/drives around the holidays.

I’ve struggled with plantar fasciitis for 3 years, and in my first class I physically couldn’t hop on my injured foot. 2 months later, my plantar fasciitis is GONE, my ankle and calf are so much stronger, and I can do hop drills in class (even 1 foot!) with ease. Can't rave enough about this gym. Initially tested it out because it was closest to my apartment, and how lucky I was that I did, I found the most encouraging and open community of people wanting to push their limits and challenge themselves and I ended up going 4x weekly. The progress I made by showing up consistently, going through the three types of workout (momentum, anaerobic, durability) was insane. It's so we'll thought through, so much fun and so effective. I was looking to build my strength but weary of signing up for a 'regular' gym because I figured I'd be doing the movements wrong. A friend recommended Madabolic since the instructors are so helpful. I was intimidated at first since I had some cardio fitness but also noodle arms. However, everyone was very welcoming and after a few sessions I got the hang of it. After a few months of Mad I can see this playing out on the other side - people are excited to see new faces and help them adjust. The classes are fun and different every time and while the moves are certainly challenging, they're not so overwhelming that you feel like you have to quit entirely (which is how I have felt at other gyms). It's worth checking out!

Started going to MADabolic on H Street last year and switched over to Dupont when they opened this location. MAD has me hooked even though I don't like typical cardio or weight training.

The concept behind their programming keeps things fresh with a variety of exercises and exertion levels that makes you feel like you have an exciting new challenge every day (although you may shudder when you hear "this is going to be fun!" on an Anaerobic day).

The instructors are top notch; they strike the perfect balance of pushing while supporting you. They're patient in breaking down movements to adjust for precise form while preventing injuries, even if you're unfamiliar with the concept of "working out," and encouraging when you make improvements. If there's anything that feels off, whether it's an old injury or new muscle pain, communicate with them and they'll give you the extra attention to identify any problems and suggest refinements.

By the way, if you ever go in for one of their early morning classes, you may find yourself wondering how the staff can be so damn friendly at such an early hour.
