Walked in this afternoon with my son in hopes of getting a tour or at least getting information about a membership but the 3 young boys at the front desk thought whatever was on their phone was more important.
I walked in asking if I could get a tour and they said no one was available to give me a tour. There were 3 of them standing there. I tried to ask more questions but was ignored. Asked again about childcare but they just pointed to the room and said I could go in myself and look. I did and it was a very small kids area and did not look very secure. I really wish I could have gotten more information about signing up but the boys just gave me a sheet that had a QR code.
I am a member at a gym already but was just looking to have another membership for convenience.
By the looks of other reviews, it does not seem like my experience is unique.

Imagine being sexually harassed, gawked at, and stalked around the gym by an older member — and when you repeatedly report it to managers and staff, absolutely nothing is done about it. That has been my experience at this gym for the last week.

I have reported this member’s behavior multiple times: him following me from station to station, standing over me while I try to work out, glaring at me, and deliberately positioning himself in front of me after I move to another area. I have screenshots proving I notified management in real time when it happened. Instead of taking action, the “manager” told me he is no longer the general manager and that everything must be sent to corporate — yet no one from corporate has contacted me. Not once. It has been more than a week.

Meanwhile, the same three men now appear to know I’ve complained, and their behavior has escalated. They continue approaching whatever machines I use, positioning themselves near me, glaring at me, and making me feel unsafe in a place I pay over $500/month to train in with a personal trainer.

For that amount of money, the bare minimum should be a safe workout environment and a management team that takes harassment seriously. Instead, I’ve been ignored, dismissed, and left to fend for myself while the men involved become more aggressive. No one has followed up. No one has acknowledged my concerns. No one has taken responsibility.

This gym is completely failing its responsibility to protect members from harassment, intimidation, and unsafe behavior. If you’re considering joining — especially as a woman — be aware that you may be left unprotected even when you report harassment multiple times.

I've been a member at amped Fitness for a while now, and I can confidently say it’s the best fitness experience I've ever had. While the entire gym is excellent, the real game-changer for me has been working with trainer Quinn.
Quinn is incredibly knowledgeable, going far beyond simple instruction. He doesn't just tell you what to do; he explains the why behind every movement, focusing heavily on biomechanics and proper technique. My husband and I were searching for a gym that not only had great equipment but also offered a daycare where we could bring our daughter. We’re so grateful to have found Amped Carrollwood! My wife and I have been members since the Carrollwood location opened and we have been very happy with the gym in general and what it has to offer for a senior couple like ourselves. I think what really makes it the perfect place for us is the staff that works there. They are generally nice people who love what they do and you can see that in their actions. Been using this place for 2-3 months now. I still have my EoS membership and have been to the nearby Crunch, LA, and Esporta gyms so I will give you my perspective. I'll start with some of the pros I like. It is smaller, but big enough to fit all the standard equipment without it being crammed together. The gym is still pretty empty and new. You don't feel like you're working out on top of everyone. Maybe this will change as it gains popularity. There's a good amount of squat racks and benches. I really enjoy all the new equipment and accessories they have for all the cable machines. 24/7 so perfect for people who work odd hours. There are a few things that could make this place perfect: 1. Only half the squat racks have mirrors in the front. Squatting area needs a little more lighting. 2. The benches are too narrow. They look about 8 inches. This provides little stability. I wouldn't want a random person to lose their balance during off hours when staff are unavailable. 3. Lockers can't fit a standard duffle bag. Locker rooms also need more seats. There's only two. 4. I went into the Abs and glutes room and didn't see any ab machines. Perhaps they have been added since then. 5. The sauna isn't always on. You have to turn it on and wait for it to heat up. I assume it's always on during the day time when the employees arrive.
Overall, I'll continue to come because of the location. But if I have a little more time or really want to go heavy on bench/squat, I'll continue going to EoS.

Update after another year: I still enjoy the gym after a year. Great place to workout legs and use unique equipment that many other gyms do not have. 10 and 25lb plates are always difficult to find. I'd prefer they just got rid of the 35lb plates and added more 10/25's. I like that it never got too packed and everything has been kept clean. No machines were ever broken for months like EoS/LA fitness/Crunch. Great job with the upkeep!
There's still only 2 bench's in the locker room. This makes it very difficult to change or sit down when more than 2 people are changing. Lots of the morning people have routines that involve everyone changing around similar times. Please add 1 more bench. The 4 squat racks on the left side still do not have mirrors in front of them. Luckily since it does not get too busy, I can always find 1 of the 3 other squat racks to use on the other side. The Abs/glutes room is still just a glute room. It's fine.

I’m giving my 5 star review for Lara the fitness trainer. I’ve been working with her for the last few months. Her energy, advice, and support are amazing. She pushes you to do more even when you don’t feel like it and works within your needs.
I’ll give 4 stars for the rest of the gym. Lots of equipment, not too packed, clean, and offers sauna / tanning bed / cryo machine / hydromassage. However…
Every so often there are AC issues both in the babe cave and in the back of the gym. What is going on? Management has been made aware of this and the speed at which these issue are fixed raises a major concern. A gym, where people go to exercise, should NOT be warm! There’s also worth mentioning that, with the price that you pay to come here, people should not have to resort to using dried up wet wipes to wipe down equipment. They’ve been slowly phasing out the spray bottles with cloths and replacing them with the wipes. It is terrible for the environment to be throwing away so much synthetic material. Asking around the gym, I am far from the first person to make this comment.

Amped Carrollwood, where do I even start! I got membership 2 years ago when they first opened and instantly fell in love. Amazing equipment, babe cave, saunas, 24/7 access, what more could you possibly need!! Klea and Chloe at the front desk always greet me when I walk in and are so attentive, which really makes me feel appreciated and has made it so much easier to find a community within this gym. I also did personal training for about 6 months with the one and only Allie. Guys seriously she is everything and more you could possibly ask for in a trainer. She absolutely exceeded my already very high expectations. Allie is accommodating, she is knowledgeable, she is empathetic, and most importantly she goes above and beyond what is expected out of the trainers, sincerely. Another shout out to Lara for being amazing and also extremely supportive of me during this process, and Salvy for running this gym like an absolute boss. 5 stars for Amped because all around, everything is amazing. I was referred by a friend who has been using Amped for awhile now and I popped by for a tour. Salvy showed me around the gym and was a great resource on all the amenities, he really cares for his staff.
From the babe Cave to the turf area, they have all the updated equipment and accoutrements to accomplish all your fitness goals. When I signed up I did the body scan and workout with Kendyl and holy smokes, she kicked my booty. I am sore today and so excited to laser in my focus for my health journey with the Amped gym. Please bring back the cleaning spray bottles! There used to be one for every 2 stations. Now you can't even find a single one in the free weight section. I've seen personal trainers work with clients on equipment and not clean after. Let's get some gym pride back in here and promote a healthy environment!

The response to my updated review is a complete lie. There’s been posting many times before when you’re closed and no email was sent. The water fountains also need to be addressed why is the water 90 degrees ? When you get water it’s to cool off not to add to your heat exhaustion. Providing hot water in a fountain is ridiculous.

The gym lost power and they didn’t post any information to their instagram. You are unable to get water from any fountain, purchase any drinks and you have to use the bathroom in the pitch black. They take zero initiative to inform members when something is down. It takes 2 seconds to post these types of things to your instagram so members are aware. You’re expected to work out with nothing to drink no ac and in the dark smfh This gym needs new management ASAP !!!

There is always something wrong at this gym. Came in today and it smelled like a burning hair from a flat iron everywhere in the entire gym. The bathrooms are closed due to drain issues so you’re expected to work out for hours without being able to use the restroom. I drive an hour to get here and it’s literally always something ! That combined with the horrible smell is enough to make me never come back

This company is horrible. My trainer was fired that I signed up with I was never even notified! I haven’t been there since March! I canceled my account with them they continued to explain I had to send an email to cancel which I did and then I spoke with multiple managers and they still have continued to charge my card and send me to collections. They are unprofessional and extremely difficult to deal with refusing to let me speak to upper management. Do NOT sign up at this gym

Great gym. Has everything you need for a good price. People might use a tripod but they aren't common and won't be in your face like other gyms.

Love this gym, has everything I need and I never feel like I’m waiting on anything. The gym is always very clean. The 24 hour access for members is a huge plus too. Plus the highest membership is only $26 a month and that includes a guest during staffed hours, so I can force my friends to go with me 🫶🏼 Love 🫶🏼
