The upkeep could be a better. No weight racks but the ones on the machine. The guy that set up my free consult last year was peddling clearly outdated info (ie hi reps somehow are better for muscle “tone”)

Good gym. not great its usually a mess and most machines are broken. if your favorite machine breaks get ready to moron its death cause it wont get fixed for as long as you go. for example, the one and only good calve machine has been broke for over a year. i wish they would fix it.

The gym itself is honestly great when it comes to working out — good equipment, plenty of space, and a solid environment for fitness.

But when it comes to actually handling business, this location is a complete nightmare. The staff is extremely unprofessional, especially when it comes to canceling or transferring memberships. There’s never a manager available, no one calls you back, and they just keep passing you around with no real help.

I’ve tried multiple times to transfer my membership since I moved, and both this location and the Miami–Doral location kept giving me the runaround. Tallahassee says one thing, Miami says another, and nobody wants to actually fix the problem.

The fact that a paying member has to go through this much trouble just to cancel or transfer is ridiculous. I used to love this gym, but after this experience, my rating dropped fast. The workout side is great — but the customer service is unprofessional and unacceptable.

It's a really nice gym, and my son loved it. I'm only giving this a 1 star review because the communication between this gym and myself is terrible. My son joined this gym last year for 3 months while he went to visit my daughter in tallhasse for the summer. On August 13, 2024, my son as well as my daughter went IN PERSON to cancel the memebership since it was no longer needed as he lives in Maryland. We'll to my knowledge, the membership was canceled. I was checking my credit card statements and seen that they have been charging me every single month since then. That's a year worth of membership fees that was supposed to be canceled. I've sent a message on the main website and no answer. I've called them 3 times and apparently William is never available, and they say he will call me back and, of course he never does. This is not good business!!!

Update:
Not enough plates for the benches and machines for half the gym.

All equipment dirty. Wipes are not effective for cleaning equipment.

Safety issues at front door. Multiple people waiting every morning to jump the door as people exit the gym. This is not safe for any paying member.

It’s getting worse

LMFAO, had the most embarrassing moment thinking I lost my phone. I even went to the front desk hoping someone had turned it in. PRECIOUS (I think that was her name), SHOUT OUT TO YOU QUEEN!! 👑 She was super helpful and patient with me, even while I was lowkey on the verge of a panic attack. Turns out my phone had literally slipped down the side of my car seat. When we finally found it, she reassured me everything was fine. Totally embarrassing, but she made sure I didn’t feel that way.

Also, big props to the good samaritans who offered their phones to help me track down my not-so-lost phone 🥴.

On another note, this gym has seriously improved since the management change. I love that they’re stricter with locker use now, I can actually snag one and (hopefully) not “lose” my phone again 🙄. The ladies’ restroom is always clean, and thankfully no more creepy staff.
Highly recommend!

Lastly, I don’t get why some people say this gym isn’t clean. I’ve been to plenty of gyms, and this is honestly one of the cleanest I’ve ever been to. Go check out some hardcore/yard gyms and you’ll realize how spotless this place actually is. Cleanliness at Amped Fitness? Solid 10.

I was told a join up rate until the end of the month. When I got there they laughed and said I missed it by a day. I asked to speak to a manager if they would honor it. The manager came over and started typing on another computer. Another customer was canceling their membership. When the manager asked for the signature, the customer declined and walked out. I asked if I should come back or call. With no eye contact they said they would be right with me. He continued typing an essay about the customer they were losing - I’m talking for a ridiculous amount of time, and ignored the customer they could have gained. I read the horrible reviews and went in because it was close home. Terrible customer service. They need new staff and management asap. Totally bummed because I canceled my other membership from what I was told on a phone call and couldn’t sign up because I was completely ignored. Also I witnessed someone else leaving dissatisfied. Not a great experience.

Nice facility with new equipment. I was hesitant to sign up because I saw a lot of bad reviews/stories on the Tallahassee Subreddit about the manager (rude, and harassing women), and paper towels/cleaner never being stocked. Still it’s close to my house so I figured I’d give it a shot. Signed up online and came this morning at 9:45. No one was working the front desk, the front doors were locked so a member had to let me in. The women working day care informed me that no one else showed up, and no one was responding to the all-employee group text and no one was answering their phone. Sounds like a bunch of immature college kids work here and got too drunk last night. Seriously reconsidering picking somewhere else even if it’s further

I absolutely love the gym; however, I’m not loving the personal training. I was with a trainer for about a month and a half, and it was going great. We developed a friendship—we would laugh and crack jokes—and for someone who was a novice gym-goer, he made working out a lot more enjoyable. All of a sudden, I get a text from him saying that he won’t be my trainer anymore, as he no longer works at the gym. I was very upset, but what can I do?! We started with another trainer, whom I was familiar with, as she was a friend of my previous trainer. I was beginning to develop a sense of comfort with her. It’s only been two weeks into our training sessions, and out of nowhere, I get a text saying she will no longer be our trainer because she no longer works at the gym either. Clearly, the trainers aren’t just “dropping like flies”—there would’ve been some kind of prior communication, especially with my first trainer. Evidently, they’re clearing house. But it’s unfair as a client to be jumping from trainer to trainer. Personally, if I had a time machine, I would’ve kept my money in my pocket. But unfortunately, I’ve already signed a contract. 🙄

I honestly can’t believe there are negative reviews about this slice of fitness heaven. The luxury of the ample, well-appointed space alone is wonderful. Hell, you can get 10,000 steps by just taking a lap around the perimeter between sets! The stations are varied, the equipment still drives like a new car, and the vibe is simultaneously industrious and chill! Due to the size and varied options, it’s only really crowded at peak times, and you can go ANY time. It’s plenty clean - it’s a gym! Go back to Planet Fitness if you want a major wipe down after every rep and mural sized signs encouraging mediocrity. Amped is a fantastic fitness deal in this town. Thank you!

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the cleanliness and crowdedness of the gym. I initially joined because of the wide range of equipment available, but I've been disappointed by the current conditions.
The gym is usually packed, and I've noticed that members rarely clean equipment after use. This has resulted in greasy weights, bars, and pins, which is unsanitary. I believe daily cleaning by staff would significantly improve this issue.
The number of wipe stations is insufficient for the gym's membership size. I've found stations empty, requiring me to walk across the gym to find wipes. With the current member volume and few wipe stations, these stations would likely need hourly replenishment if equipment were being regularly cleaned. That definitely isn't happening.
I understand that a high membership count is beneficial for the gym, but it negatively impacts the availability of clean equipment for members. Staff should really start making sure people clean their equipment.

I had high hopes for this gym due to its modern look and nice layout, but unfortunately, the way it's managed has been a consistent disappointment. I've been a member for a year, and nearly every visit has included issues with accessing the building. Despite bringing this up with staff multiple times, nothing has been done to improve the situation.

The front desk staff often ignore members standing outside waiting to be let in, and they take an unnecessarily long time to respond—even when they can clearly see you. There seems to be a lack of professionalism, with employees more focused on socializing than assisting members.

Cleanliness is another concern. While the gym threatens to fine members for not wiping down equipment, there are times when no cleaning supplies are even available to do so. If you're going to enforce hygiene rules, the necessary materials should always be accessible.

It’s unfortunate, because this gym has a lot of potential, but the management and staff culture need serious improvement. A more mature and attentive team would make a huge difference.

I love Amped. I’m 64 years old, had never stepped foot in a gym before 2025 and recently lost over 40 pounds. I’ve been going 3 times a week since February and have highly recommended Amped to friends and coworkers. Many have joined. Shout out to personal trainers Ray Gen (now asst manager) and Vrissa! They’ve kept me motivated since day one! The gym is clean, rarely has equipment out of service and the staff is super friendly. Love the babe cave as a girl only option. The hydrobed or sauna is a fantastic way to end a workout!!

I’ve been going to the gym since they first opened w/ my man as a guest. Everything was perfect when they first opened. I have my opinions now, the main one being the unstaffed thing..my thing is you get charged $50 if you let someone in yet who can control a group of people standing at the door waiting for someone to come out to grab the door? Last night in particular (around 10:30pm) Me and my man were leaving when approached by a group of people trying to get in their “app” wasn’t working. what were we supposed to do? My man told them he can’t let them in because he’ll get charged and they didn’t care at all. I’m sorry but i’m not risking my safety for this. There should be security here after staffed hours- why there isn’t who knows. But it definitely happens every time and i’m getting tired of being hounded everytime i want to leave. most times ill wait near the chairs until they leave but why should i have to do that. If safety is your concern, you’d have atleast 1 staff overnight or security. Just my thoughts

Greedy, poorly run, and rude.

Edit: Now that I’ve calmed down, it’s a decent gym with some practices I don’t love. I like the range of equipment. It’s a generally welcoming atmosphere for both serious training and people new to the gym. Most of the people are pretty cool. I like the 24/7 access.

They do have some problems with keeping the wipes stocked, especially in the women’s area. Also warning: you need to cancel in advance if you don’t want to pay for an extra month you don’t need. I also don’t like how they handle communicating issues with gym policy. My husband’s app was glitchy so it wasn’t properly registering his scan during off hours and we got a very threatening email. I 100% understand that they have a responsibility to ensure safety as much as possible, but I didn’t appreciate how they immediately jumped to threatening huge fines and banning for something that was a tech issue, which according to their staff is a known issue for older smartphones.

Overall, I’d still sign up for this gym again and I am disappointed there wont be an amped where I’m moving as I do like it better than planet fitness.

I have been a member since July 2024 and I haven’t given a review yet but felt the need to do so since Will has taken over management. I don’t know if Will enacted the changes lately, but some good changes have happened under his guidance, that is for sure. Right before his management, I started noticing some concerns (little things here and there) but as soon as he started managing, it’s gotten much better!

The place feels fully staffed, the employees smile and try to learn people. They give helpful advise/tips, if it looks like they need or desire it. Carson is a trainer there and while I have chatted with most (if not all) of them, he is one of my favorites. Even on bad days, he works hard to make people feel like they’re at home and his advise is great!

Staff walk around and help put up weights if customers slack in doing so, the equipment feels fresh/clean, and I love their monthly memeber appreciate events! They bring in vendors, music, and a DJ. Today they had live musicians playing and singing! Oh, their group classes*; the two ladies who run those in the evening have been KILLING it lately! Their evening class has doubled (if not tripled) in participants! Amazing work ladies! Their energy hosting the class is top notch!

While there are some rules I don’t like, like my 17 year old can’t be a guest (starts at 18 for guest access; however, they can get a full membership) and guests need to verify a valid ID (as some of my group does come as guests also), the pros clearly outweigh the cons and we can live with that.

Thank you for your hard work and please keep it up!

During my initial visit at the Tallahassee, FL location, I had an interaction with William at the guest services desk that left me deeply uncomfortable. Not only was his customer service unprofessional and dismissive, but he also continued to question me in a condescending manner, as if I were unintelligent. Additionally, he maintained what felt like a staring contest with me, which was extremely awkward and unsettling—particularly as I was wearing African attire. The interaction made me feel judged and unwelcome.

As a first-time guest, this experience was unacceptable and does not reflect the level of professionalism I expect from a fitness facility.

I was at amped for almost a year before cancelling. When I joined the gym was nice, quiet, and well maintained. It got to a point where I would go at 4 am and it was crowded and would have to wait to be able to use machines. I tried going at other times and then the students found the gym and it only got worse. The floors are always a mess from nobody reracking weights, the male staff members there are creepy and I've been approached numerous times of workers asking me for my instagram or my number mid workout. I tried to stick it out but became too uncomfortable to continue.

There's dust and dirt all over the equipment. Spend some money on a vacuum cleaner and then try using it. Teach your management and young employees how to turn a screwdriver and wrench, then you'd be putting out fewer "out of order" signs. Otherwise, i like the place.

It’s a scam they have a sure way of making the most money off of you. All the amenities they offer are inflated when in reality they are your run of the mill or worse. The sauna is bad there’s no way you can verify that you pay for the babe cave so don’t bother paying more for it you just walk in. Due to there hours you can never use any of the hydro stuff. And don’t start on the 30 day notice where they still charge you for the next month! It’s insane. Crazy that the post about the staff stalking female members and contacting them without their permission got removed. Crazy right?

Hide it if you want, screenshots are good for other platforms, lol

I see you are still deleting posts about your management team, that is some next level coping. Of course you could provide some corrective counseling to your team and see what happens, but hiding the problem is an option too. Not the best option, but it is an option.

Update: Apparently the wheel of progress made a turn and this location is under new management now. Happy to hear it happened before another person was victimized. It however doesn’t take away from what happened and how long it was allowed to continue. Between your reviews and the various social media forums that were begging for this issue to be addressed you might want to invest in a social media manager that pays attention to this stuff. Or you can hope it won’t happen again and pat yourself on the back for your late solution. You know what they say though, Hope is not a plan.

Had high hopes for this gym when it first opened, but it went downhill fast. Unprofessional staff, dirty facility, and broken equipment.

Cleanliness only exists in the bathrooms. The rest of the gym is filthy: dusty, sweat droplet stains, and wipe canisters that are always empty so patrons can’t even wipe equipment down on their own if they wanted to.

There’s no regard for any posted rules. Tripods in areas outside the turf (and having them on the turf is also frustrating because it forces all other patrons to stick to one side to avoid the camera). People working out with no shirts, or wearing totally inappropriate clothing like flip flops.

So much equipment is worn out or broken and down for “repair,” which means it’ll sit unused with a sign for who knows how long.

Why even bother having staff? They’re always crowded around the front desk tossing a football around or lounging in the chairs. I never, ever see staff making rounds in the gym to clean or put equipment away.

I’ve been paying for the top tier membership since they opened and was hoping for the best, but it’s just another corporate gym staffed by a bunch of gym bros. On to the next one.

EDIT: so many replies from management that they’ll improve, but no sign of improvement. Typical.

Got a membership with Amped in Daytona and absolutely loved it. Started coming to this one after I finished my program and at first it was great. Then students returned from winter break and New Years happened and it has veeeeery quickly become oversaturated. They have all of the machines and weights you could possibly want (although a few more leg extension/curl machines would be great), but if you come between the hours of 5-8 PM, good luck. It’s so packed during these times it’s likely a fire hazard. They also replaced all of the towels/spray bottles with disposable wipes, which I understand, but they’re tiny and rarely moist and I feel gross using machines now because it feels like nothing is adequately sanitized. Keeping it at three stars because Amped does have everything, but I’m tired of having to wait extensive amounts of time to use stuff because of the amount of people and lack of cleanliness. Will be looking for smaller gyms that cap memberships.

Edit 4/1: downgraded to two stars because you’re apparently charged to downgrade your membership to basic

1.)It's not that clean of a facility , on the outside I can understand how people think that. They had a situation where an employee was having sex in there and she left the condom wrapper she used on the floor and the cleanup crew eventually found it later on so I'd make sure to bring your own sanitizer if you are going to use this facility.

2)Then they had the nerve to take away the towels and sanitizer spray to wipe the machines down before usage. They did replace it with a little canister that has wet wipes in it but there 2 problems with that.. they are super wet when they are fresh and leave wet chemical all over the equipment that you have to either lay or sit on or they dry out super fast and half the time you grab one its dry and barely has any solution on it.

3) The front desk is HORRIBLE . TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NO PROFESSIONALISM. They are constantly playing around and that's most of them including the store manager Rashad I believe his name is . I see people walking in and they are literally playing a football scrimmage game throwing the football over customers heads . I should add this isn't a one time event, this has been happening at least a year on and off. I shake my head every time I see it.

4) A quarter of the machines are broke and should be repaired way faster than the time it actually takes .

5) lastly i just saw a situation where they kicked a guy out that comes in EVERYDAY and has been for over a year and he literally is one of the hardest working people I see in there. He doesn't bother ANYONE . I never even seen him talk to anyone really but they kicked him out cause he had on flip flops but so does one -third of the people that go there and on top of that they just now made it an issue after he's been going there over a year. They have a no policy for flip flops but not their own workers being professional and not throwing the football over customers heads smh.
They also have a no tripod policy , i see people with tripods all the time . They also have a clothing policy but I see people with no shirt on working out but they decided to pick on him that day I guess. I was on my way out and overheard what was being said and they guy was gonna leave but he asked for the supervisors number and the store manager Rashad I believe his name is went crazy talking about calling the cops like guy was refusing to leave. Then I saw Rashad trying to provoke the guy , he came from around the counter telling "
the guy oh you think your tough"

Like dude , you called the police already , just be professional and wait until he gets there , that's how situations get blown out of hand and I'd like to feel safe when I go to the gym. He was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
I could go on but I'll leave it right there.
I do NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM

I’ve been a member here since Day One, and I finally feel the need to share my thoughts on some changes, both the good and the not-so-good. Since I typically work out during non-staff hours, I haven’t had the opportunity to speak with the staff directly, so I hope they come across this review.

I’m giving this gym three stars for the following reasons:

1. VIP Membership Concerns

When I first signed up, I chose the VIP membership because the advertising made it seem like Babe Cave was exclusive to VIP members (refer to their IG post from 2/24/2024. I have screenshots in case it gets remove). However, since opening, it has been accessible to everyone, and nearly almost a year later, there’s still no enforcement of this exclusivity.

So my question is… is the VIP membership still worth it for access to Babe Cave?

2. Cleanliness & Equipment Organization

I’ve been to several gyms in Tallahassee, and while this one is decent, clean doesn’t necessarily mean neat. Lately, it has felt a bit unkempt. Babe Cave, in particular, has become cluttered. Is the gym still enforcing reracking policies? Because some members clearly aren’t following them.

ADDITIONALLY, while Babe Cave is meant to be a designated space, I remember an instance several months ago when a man entered with a cleaning cart. I assume he was there to clean, but given the intended exclusivity of the space, it still made me feel uncomfortable. He didn’t stay long, but the situation felt awkward and out of place.

3. Tripod Policy
Is the gym still enforcing the no tripods rule? I recently saw a member using one in Babe Cave, which makes me wonder if this policy has changed.

4. Personal Training Approach
While I appreciate that the staff is promoting personal training, I feel there’s a better way to approach members. I was in the middle of my set when a staff member interrupted to ask if I was interested in a 1:1 assessment, mind you, I was asked months after I started working out here. A better approach would be to ask before or after workouts, not while someone is mid-set. Some of us prefer to work out independently.

5. Improved Sanitation
On a positive note, I’m glad they switched from rags to sanitary wipes. The rags were always wet and unhygienic, so this is a definite improvement.

Overall, this gym has potential, but there are areas that need attention. I hope management takes these concerns into account to enhance the experience for all members. Thank you.

Lack of response regarding the concerns over staff behavior is telling. Can’t wait to cancel my membership. Unreal.

I canceled my gym membership after the first night. My very first night , the MANAGER did everything in his power to make me feel like I needed a personal trainer , which I did not like. We sat there for nearly 30-40 minutes while he discouraged me, broke me down, & used my insecurities discussed during my body scan against me. He used scare tactics such as getting diabetes and other diseases to try and make me feel like without a personal trainer I couldn’t be successful. After saying “I’d think about it” THREE TIMES, I finally decided I was done responding. I just sat there while he went on and on about how he thinks I’m not ready to be successful, I’m playing games, and not taking it seriously. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME IN A GYM IN 2 YEARS which i explained to them …. & that interaction alone left me feeling defeated before I even started my workout…. All I could hear was his discouraging words in my ear the entire time on the treadmill. All of this was a terrible experience. OUTSIDE of the hidden fees , the curt front desk girl, the lack of sanitary equipment at stations, etc. I see what kind of culture they’ve created at that gym and by the looks of the reviews and word of mouth, they’re not gonna last long. Ya’ll are in a college town, where most of your members are college students. I don’t know too many college students who have $$ for a personal trainer, that’s common sense. AND I’ve heard terrible stories about the personal trainer experiences there. I wish I knew all of this before signing up. I would’ve never went in the first place. If you plan to go , please know that there’s a $50 annual fee that they don’t tell you about until after you sign up. If you don’t cancel within 3 days of getting the membership you’re gonna pay around $80. This gym is getting over on people & it’s truly sad.

I went to try this gym out with the recommendation from my eldest son. I signed up for $1 for the first month and was told after the 30 days I would be charged the monthly rate plus an annual fee. I was told if I wanted to cancel to do so before the 30 days. Today I went in there to cancel as I have a 13 year old son whom I can take to another gym as this facility is 18+. Now I am told I only had the first 3 days to cancel without being charge. I am not able to cancel until I pay the annual fee plus first month (I have until March 17 before the 30 days is up). I said well if that is the case then I’ll pay and cancel after the next 30 days pass. I was told no March 18 starts the next cycle so if I don’t cancel on or before March 17, I will be charge the annual fee plus 2 months of membership if I wait until the 18th to cancel. Again this was NEVER relayed. Apparently it’s in their contract so make sure you read it and they don’t push you through as it was not explained to me from the very get go.

I had to take a break from working out for 3 months after major surgery and the first thing someone said to me when I scanned in was "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THE LAST 99 DAYS?" which was embarrassing and frankly, out of my control. I'm guessing the next line was going to be "Have you considered personal training to ensure consistency?" but I quickly shut the front desk person down before he said anything else.

Aside from that, I have four main issues with Amped:

Cleanliness (or lack thereof) -- Amped is always filthy, and though they finally got rid of the communal sweat rags we were expected to use to wipe down the machines, they've now replaced them with small and barely moist disposable towelettes which don't seem to clean at all? Further, the Babe Cave is riddled with hairballs and is straight-up grimy.

"VIP Perks," which are scam. The gym marketed access to the sauna, babe cave, and classes, as some sort of perk for guests who pay more, but these facilities are actually just open to anyone? So why even pay more?

The predatory staff, and Amped's blatant mishandling of this behavior. I know of people personally that have been contacted by staff for no reason at all, at their personal cellphones. They did not give out their phone numbers, so it's clear that this was gained through unauthorized access to client records. I see many people state that the staff is creepy and predatory, yet the staff in question still work there.

Staffed hours, during which you can access said "exclusive" facilities, start at 9 am. Amped states that the gym's peak hours are from 5pm-7pm, which is laughable at best, and a straight-up lie at worst. I guess they wouldn't know that 5am-7am is equally packed, and clients aren't even able to use the gym to its full ability.

As an additional issue, it seems that they decided to start responding to people's reviews today. I suspected the responses were AI-generated because they're so formulaic and generic, and they are, which is plainly evidenced by the placeholder of [contact information] that the author forgot to update in a response. I guess I'm not surprised that the way they handled the very serious task of addressing legitimate customer concerns was not so dissimilar from how they handle and manage their gym -- which is with a lack of attention to detail and a clear disregard for genuine customer engagement. It’s as if they view addressing complaints as a mere checkbox to tick, rather than an opportunity to actually improve and build trust with their members.

The price point and the strict rules about non-staffed hours give the illusion of exclusivity and availability of space and machines. Neither are true. I've been a member since they announced the gym was coming to Tallahassee and since then they've run so many cheap join sales that it's full of people, the VIP exclusive areas such as the Babe Cave or the classes you can schedule through the app are available regardless of VIP status. It's so cramped and crowded in there you might as well stay at PF.

Updating after response from Amped, stars reduced to 1:

Telling me not to go at peak hours doesn't snuff out the fact that no matter when you go it's full of people. Especially when those people paid fractions less than me to be there. Also the VIP exclusive areas are available to anyone who walks in, such as the yoga and zumba classes which were supposed to be by sign up only. Regularly people take weights from the babe cave and don't return them. Every other visit a "personal trainer" offers to do a body scan where they try to sell you services. It was a mess. I'm happy I left.

I stopped going because of the hairballs and general sanitation issues. The "Babe Cave" is neglected, and the built-up grime along the floors shows it. Amped refuses to provide disposable paper towels but instead provides rags, which patrons are expected to trust are clean.

Besides that, the Amped Fitness policy states that cancellation can be done via the app, but there is no visible option to cancel in the settings, nor is there a dedicated cancellation button. Additionally, the policy restricts email cancellations to a "Trainerize email account," which is not provided when signing up. This violates the FTC's "Click to Cancel" rule (16 CFR Part 425), requiring businesses to provide a simple, easy-to-find cancellation process that mirrors the sign-up method. Since the sign-up method for those who secured the "Founder's price" was done online, before the facility opened their physical location, cancellation should also be available online. Amped violates this by requiring people to physically enter the gym to cancel their memberships, which can warrant noncompliance penalties upwards of $50,000 for each violation. This lack of a functional cancellation option is deceptive.

Singled out for not putting someone else's weights away.
My first lift of the evening was supine chest press. The gentleman on the machine before me left 6 total plates on the machine (asked manager to look at video). I simply put on ground (told way later I slammed them). Finished lift with no disturbance. Put the weights I used back on racks. Forgot the two I took off from previous user. Proceeded to the crunch machine, was approached by a manager and another employee, and was told to rerack the weights which I did with the exception of one plate which there was not room for. All of this I tried explained to the manager. He told me to get out and membership is cancelled. I asked him for the owner contact and was told promptly to leave or police will be called. No contact given.
Just a side note, I am a 52 year old veteran and public school teacher. I understand gym rules. I have managed many gyms and weight rooms. I have been a member for all of 2 weeks. I have never been kicked out of a gym ever let alone for a very petty reason. I am one of the old people that actually clean up after themselves for the most part. Again tried to explain this to the manager but the was no communication. Simply get out or calling the police.
Great business practice you got there!

I was a “founding member” and signed up because it was the closest place to me at the time and was only 9.99 for the Founders Rate. It was never said that rate would change. Well it is and I was never even told nor are there signs anywhere at the gym that says they are raising it to 16.74.
Some amenities can only be used during staffed hours which I can never be at because I have to do early morning workouts and they aren’t even staffed until 9am. The water rarely warms up in the bathrooms and no it’s not because it’s the morning… because the shower is typically always in use before I go in. The “locker rooms” are terrible. Trash items consistently left in lockers over multiple days therefore they obviously aren’t cleaned at night and it is not meant for working individuals because there is limited space to get ready in the morning so you have to use the toilet stalls… nasty. They recently took away all the spray bottles and towels and have terrible little wipe dispensers that are not in easy access of all machines and half the time are empty. The weights are never reracked or maintained so there will be multiple locations without the range of weights they should have. I’ve had to walk across the gym to retrieve a 25lb plate. And don’t believe their rule signs because they only enforce them on certain people o guess. “No tripods” yet there were 3 there in front of workers and nothing was done, fees for retailing weights which likely doesn’t get charged often, sauna only during staffed hours yet the first 3 months we were allowed to use at any time.
And good luck cancelling your membership. There are 3 different email addresses and the Tallahassee email you send to doesn’t go to someone local I guess and if you want to cancel anywhere other than face to face they want you to pay for certified mail. I was able to sign up online, I should be able to cancel as well.
Poorly managed and poorly maintained with little help from staff. You’d be better off going to Planet Fitness or YouFit.

I had a terrible experience with AIMED Fitness in Tallahassee, specifically with their personal training program. My trainer left the gym because they weren’t paying him enough, and I was left without a trainer. When a new trainer reached out, I told them directly that I didn’t want to continue and needed to cancel. Then, when I spoke to the front desk, they told me I had to schedule an appointment just to cancel—something I didn’t have time for.

Even though I made multiple attempts to cancel, AIMED Fitness continued charging me $90 per month for two extra months. Then, when they finally canceled my membership, they hit me with a $250 cancellation fee that was never mentioned when I signed up.

This gym is completely dishonest with its policies and seems more focused on squeezing money out of members rather than providing good service. I would not recommend AIMED Fitness to anyone. If you’re considering joining, be careful and ask for everything in writing before signing anything.

Was super stoked about this gym when they opened but now they have over sold the gym. Equipment is worn out already. Now they randomly set off confetti poppers without regard of how that could be dangerous to anyone let alone combat veterans in the middle of a heavy rep. Parking is always slammed, always. Don't waste your money. It's a shame cause I loved this gym when it first opened. I was motivated to work out and now I don't want to deal with the hassle of fighting for 1 of 2 leg extensions machines or a treadmill because this place is at or above fire code capacity 99% of the time.

This gym is extremely crowded, even at 5am, making it hard to get a full workout in without having to stand around and wait for machines to be open. There seems to be a lack of plates and cable attachments (specifically carabiners), so setting up for a set can include about 5 minutes of aimlessly walking around to try and find what you need. The staffed hours are not long enough, especially on weekdays where staffed hours do not start until 9am, which is frustrating because all VIP amenities (and the saunas) can only be used during staffed hours. When there is staff, it seems as though there is only one staff member behind the desk and that is it. Apparently members are charged $50 for letting other people into the gym after staffed hours are over and you have to unlock the doors, however, I've seen numerous people sneak in or pry open the door, which did not make me feel safe attending.

This gym seemed great at first, but has gotten progressively worse and worse as it has been open.

Poor staff and customer service. I have been a member of every gym in Tallahassee and by far this is the worst to deal with if help is needed. Poorly managed. Manager puts responsibility on the owner, owner puts responsibility on corporate. Basically, nobody wants to help or take responsibility. The worst. If you workout early in the morning you have to depend on the app "OPEN" working, which can be "glitchy." My app didn't work at all, even after bringing the issue to the staff's attention on multiple occasions. They finally gave me a company "key fab." That didn't work either. So, basically I didn't have access to the gym as promised. Showed up at 6am ready to workout. Access denied on several occasions. Didn't provide the service as promised. Which would normally mean a refund. It's been 4 months and I'm still getting the run around and finger pointing. Been working at "Crunch Fitness" on Tharpe. Way better. No issues. Great Sauna and workout equipment. Staff is present and happy to help with any issues. I don't mind a little extra travel time. Save time and money and sign up with "Crunch."

I have been a member of this gym for several months now. At first I absolutely loved it, but lately it seems to be very poorly managed. The front desk staff told me that there were 1,000 new sign up’s in January this year, yet no new staff was added to account for the increase in members. The women’s locker area is beyond filthy. I shower every morning before work and I dread it now. Also, I noticed this week that all the spray bottles and rags were taken away and instead there are wipes in containers on the wall to use. That is fine - but all but 1 container was empty today. The gym is unsanitary and poorly managed. It really is a shame because the location and variety of equipment are great, however working out and not properly being able to clean the equipment after use is really disgusting. And the restrooms really should not be filthy. I hope these issues can be addressed so that I do not have to switch gyms.

I’ve been coming to this gym since they opened and I have noticed a decline in the staff and cleaning products. The floors are dirty and there are not enough sanitizing for the amount of people who have signed up. This location seems to have over sold their memberships. The women’s bathroom is not convenient if you shower there’s no outlets or a vanity to get ready or set things down. I like the women’s area and the amount of machines but this has been very packed definitely to capacity. I understand it’s 24hr but they need staff to clean at midnight, four and 7am honestly. They also have hidden fees and is unclear if you can pause the membership or how to cancel. Hopefully they can open more gyms and it will help filter out the amount of clients that they have.

I’ve been going to the gym since opening day ans I used to love it now I believe that it’s time for me to switch gyms. They use rags to wipe off the machines all day which is disgusting. You’re not able to use amenities like the sauna and massage machines after 8 PM. So if you’re not able to work out between the hours and 8am - 8pm you’re not gonna be able to use the amenities in the gym. The gym is now extremely overcrowded. While I do appreciate the location, the amenities this gym offers, and will continue to go regularly DESPITE my best judgement, I have formed a few opinions and have experienced a couple more-than-minor inconveniences that I feel I should share with potential new members before they join. DISCLAIMER: get comfortable, grab a low-cal snack, I’m giving details, this will not be brief. Let’s dig in, shall we. First and foremost, I don’t even TRY to attend during staffed hours. Personal preference. I actually enjoy getting up at the butt-crack of dawn now. But I tell you this because the place is absolutely packed with college students and high schoolers taking advantage of the free guest with their VIP membership that there is practically no parking and hardly a single square foot to stretch. My legs are long… a girls gotta stretch. Anyways, seriously, good for the owners and their abundance of members, but at 5pm the staff actually looks overwhelmed with checking members and their guests in. There will often be a line at the door! In the past, I have shown up and left several times after seeing the number of people packed in there like sardines, literally on every machine. Maybe Tallahassee needs a few more Amped locations. I feel that the place might at
least run a lot smoother if it were staffed 24/7… and maybe limited the amount of times the same guest can come. Then perhaps the guest would break down and get their own membership, that way there’s no line at the front desk. It’s kind of ridiculous. Just my two cents. Okay getting back on track… Additionally, I had unresolved issues with their AltaOpen App (for access during non-staffed hours) for about two weeks. Remember, I only go to this gym in the morning during non-staffed hours now so keep in mind to speak to a staff member, I had to make special trips back to the gym during staffed hours to do so. Pretty frustrating. I asked 4-5 different staff members for help over the course of the first week and they told me the app was having issues or try it again later or if I could wait an hour, a manager would be in. Finally, I made my zillionth trip during the dreaded weekday staffed hours to speak to a manager, Mike, who was extremely helpful and got my app issue resolved in a few days. I’m not always a Karen, I’m really not. I never even leave reviews believe it or not. I was just very frustrated to show up at 6am and 7am a few mornings in a row just to discover I could not get inside the gym I pay a “VIP” membership to. Very Important Person is what VIP stands for btw. I’m not very important to Amped Fitness apparently. They just want my monthly payment let’s be honest. I digress. Anyways, I was told several other members had the same app issue. I felt like I wasted a lot of my time trying to resolve that issue and let me mention that I missed out on a few good workouts too. I ended up coming home one of those dark mornings, making space in my living room and doing a half-as* workout on my living-room floor at 6:30am and there I am contemplating my life decisions, going “why am I even paying for this membership?” I almost switched back to Planet Fitness over the whole mess. At least there’s always someone there and I never stood defeated by a Bluetooth doorbell on the other side of the Planet Fitness door. Okay finally, the icing on this cake is the main reason I switched from Planet Fitness to Amped in the first place: because these guys have a ✨sauna✨….. which is now locked during non-staffed hours. I’m not sure why that is, but it’s definitely a bummer when that was the one thing I was really looking forward to adding to the end of my workout. If I were a betting woman, I would bet my Amped membership that some younger folks abused the sauna privileges after staffed hours, or left a mess, so now we all suffer the consequences of their actions. So basically, if you’re looking for a packed, college gym with limited access (even when paying for the VIP membership), then CONGRATULATIONS, this is the place for you! - Sincerely a not-so Very Important Person :)

ZERO STARS!!! It is clear by the other reviews that AMPED Fitness Tallahassee is lacking in management and leadership. GM Robert Thomas continues to prove that. The Tallahassee community, although saturated with students, is filled with many professionals, doctors, lawyers, professors, dentists, physicians, pharmacists and the like. Many who take their health journey very serious. Amped Fitness’ CEO Travis Labozzo and Stephen Thomas who is listed as the CFO of AMPED Fitness has virtually no footprint in the local clubs as staff can neither identify who is next in charge nor provide any contact information. According to some sources, the headquarters appears to be located in Pinellas Park/St. Petersburg, FL.

What is absolutely certain is the next level of leadership is a mystery. It is also clear that despite numerous complaints, the organization allows an individual of mediocre management skills and no customer service skills to operate this Tallahassee club.
The club has failed in so many areas that were obvious attractions when opening. I had my membership terminated because I went behind the trainers desk to grab a piece of paper (mind you it was not roped off in any way) to communicate how dissatisfied I was, along with several others, of the decision to padlock the sauna during the early morning hours. Mr. Robert said "I crossed the line and therefore my membership is being terminated". This amenity (the sauna) was one that was a deciding factor in moving our gym membership and we had been utilizing it since the opening of the gym. Now, please note, the club is not staffed during the early morning hours and there is no other way to leave comments or concerns. No comment box, no other means of communication. If this was a note of praise, I doubt this would have been the result. Customer service is an email portal. No phones numbers or names. The only number provided is to address your membership, of course this is what pays the bills. An environment where you cannot voice your opinion is not one to be in, nor anyone that I know. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

During my 40 minute workout I came back to find my child in the same spot I had put them, crying hysterically while the employee just sat there on the computer. He said my child was screaming the entire time and he didn’t pick them up/ try to help them. Not a reliable daycare. I really love this gym but the childcare needs some desperate work. Besides one lady who works in the mornings sometimes, she is an absolute angel!! Other times I've gone in with my one year old daughter when other ladies are working, the staff is on their phone ignoring the children. They are very unwelcoming, don't even say hi. They don't seem to even like kids at all or have any past experience. The previous two times I have gone in, I checked in on my daughter after 30 minutes and when I walked in she was SOBBING crying while laying down on the floor on her stomach, while being completely ignored by the staff. I could tell she had been crying for a very long time, her face was swollen and she had tears and snot everywhere. I rarely ever see her that upset. If they don't want to console her or care for her AT LEAST call me!! I wouldn't mind a phone call at all to care for my child but it absolutely shattered my heart to see her so neglected. She is usually a very outgoing, happy, independent baby, so I was confident in bringing her in but I just don't know how I can come back. One time is one thing, but twice in a row. It really is too bad, I was so excited to finally find a gym that I love and that has childcare but the quality is just too poor :(

Ive heard good things but I only have the time to try it at night, and theyre unstaffed at night and only open to members.
Update: maybe I’ve just been spoiled by crunch but there isn’t as much equipment as i thought there would be, and the babe cave is most definitely smaller than I’d expected.

Being the VIP+ at the day Gym Open, staff told me about the advance, but today it’s so stupid, Member privilege just available at 9am-8pm, but my time and my friend are always after 9pm, then they told me and my friend come back tomorrow, no exception :)) so paid the VIP+ just for that then it got useless, very bad rule :) and not flexible staff, also they ask for $25 to downgrade if i dont want to be a VIP+ any more, why dont your staff tell me at 1st day your gym open that i cant use VIP+ after 9pm
very disappointed cause i always recommend since the day GYM open, but now not anymore

Robert body shamed my friend and tried to use scare tactics to get them to sign up for training. Why is he still using BMI as an indicator for health? Especially for women of color. He needs to go back to school or at least use Google. If I could give 0 stars I would.

this gym SUCKS, the hyper extension machine is absolutely horrible, this gym is apparently "new" yet the hyper extension machine was so jammed that i had to grab not one not two not three but FOUR people to try to adjust it and even then it didn't adjust. I am 5'0 and my feet couldn't reach the back on the shortest setting it could reach and not to mention there is only ONE hyper extension machine and why isn't there another one in the "babe cave" the hyper extension is one of the more uncomfortable workouts to do since you're bent over and they decide to put only ONE in the dusty corner and the hyper extension machine has no adjustment for angle just height which you can't even adjust either. I've never left the gym feeling so unmotivated and literally left CRYING because of the frustration of this stupid machine, also , I know a lot of people like to do this workout with weight but that's nearly impossible to do since there's a random handle that gets in your way with the weight and the handle is stupid because that's usually where it goes to adjust the ANGLE and you can't even do that. For a new gym this is horrible and I should never leave my workout in tears because of stupid design choices. Also BUY ANOTHER SOLID 18 INCH BOX!!! I'm SICK of just a 6 and a 12 , my gym in my hometown had a 6 inch 12 inch and solid 18 inch box so you don't have to cowardly wait for ONE box in a gym located where 60,000 students go to school. Do better

I have been delighted with my experience as a member at Amped fitness. As a woman I love being able to work out in the privacy of the babe cave. The facility is very clean. The staff has been helpful in accommodating any of my needs. I signed up for weekly personal training sessions and the manager Robert Thomas did a thorough fitness assessment and got me placed with the best trainer for my needs. As a single mom it’s been helpful to bring my kids and let them play in the childcare area while I take time to work out. You can’t beat the facility, friendly staff and the 24 hour facility.

I was hesitant because all of the negative reviews and I personally have not experienced poor customer service. Staff has always been courteous and not pushy like a few other gyms. Considering moving over to ampd but they’re far from me.

I never do this but from my experience it requires it. I was very excited to see that Amped was opening in Tallahassee, I got a membership before the gym even opened and even got some of my friends to join as well. Let me just say that is one of the worst financial decisions I’ve ever made in my life. The gym opened and I went once, I then went again to discuss personal training and even signed up for it. However the day after I signed up I realized it was not the right decision for me and I called and confirmed with a staff member over the phone to “cancel” the personal training. In their contract it says as long as you cancel the personal training within 3 days of signing up there is no fee to cancel. So I thought I was good. I then decided that the gym overall just wasn’t for me so two weeks later I canceled my membership. Well exactly one month after they open and a few days/weeks after I canceled my membership I don’t just get charged the membership fee(to be expected) but I also get charged the annual fee. When I expressed my concern the staff informed me that is simply how Amped as a company works that you must cancel your membership 30 days prior to the fees in order to avoid them, but they always set it up that the annual fee starts 30 days from when the gym opens. So now my total between May 30-June 30 at this gym is $217 for a gym I’ve barely been to/did not enjoy. Anyways 5 days later and I’m charged for personal training. After having spoke with one of their team members saying that my account was cancelled I was quite shocked. When I called to check on the charge I was met with very little understanding and someone just telling me that I had to pay the $250 fee to cancel the personal training and that it was in the contract. I then came back and notified them that it was also in the contract that if I canceled within 3 days of signing up that I wouldn’t have to pay that fee and that one of their people told me it was canceled. The person over the phone simply continued to say that if I wanted to cancel it I would have to pay the $250 fee. So I looked at getting the phone call recordings pulled so I would have proof that it’s on them but that’s too expensive. So today I went in and spoke with the AGM who apologized but ultimately said that the only way to cancel was to be in person. I told him I understand that now but your person told me incorrectly and now I’m being financially punished. So here we are $647 wasted. I’m not saying the people are bad but let me tell you the business is.

The gym itself is very nice, good equipment, atmosphere, and very clean. I went with my friend for a free day pass, considering switching, and I loved it until my friend’s lock jammed and she couldn’t retrieve her keys, wallet, or thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment. The staff were very helpful and considerate in helping until our experience with the manager, Robert Thomas. He showed no consideration for her situation; even after we presented a solution, bringing trained professionals who were friends of ours to grind down the lock, he agreed at first and changed his mind once they arrived. He showed no compassion for our situation, only giving us attitude and acted incredibly rude towards us. Additionally, we noticed that he treats his coworkers horribly as well, treating them with disrespect and dismissing them right away. He completely ruined our experience and our hopeful prospect of obtaining a membership.

I got a day pass at amped with the hope to switch over. Unfortunately while I was there, my lock broke while all of my belongings were locked in my locker (car keys, apartment key, work camera that I didn’t want to leave in my car). A trainer there was extremely helpful in trying to get it opened but the manager couldn’t care less. They told me my mechanic friend could come cut the lock for me, but when he arrived with his tool, the manager wouldn’t allow him to enter out of fear of damaging the new gym. He told me I couldn’t get any of my things until the next day leaving me without a car, a home, or money. I understand that it wasn’t their lock but if they have lockers that need personal locks, they shouldn’t be able to not allow you to cut your own lock off. I suggested calling the fire dept or cops if they wouldn’t allow a mechanic to cut it and the manager told me he wouldn’t allow anybody in. He did not care that it left me with nothing whatsoever. It was a terrible experience and I will never be supporting amped fitness after what they made me deal with.

The gym and Equipment are good the staff is the problem specially Robert Thomas. All he cares is about the money. He pushed me in getting a personal trainer like I had said no 3 times so I was like ok. Went the next day to cancel but they said manager was not available 4 days later I go and talked to Robert so I can cancel and said no problem but he then goes and says it’s $250 to cancel. I had paid 120 to sign up and went next day to cancel but no one was there it was like seriously. I was being nice but he was just so arrogant. Finally I said let me ask to your manager she was more nicer and said just cancel he just sing up. That’s when Robert smile went away from his face. I know they have to make money but that’s not the way to go about.

So let me start like this the workout area is great and has everything a person needs but the staff are unprofessional and rude. I was called for my one on one and something came up so I tried to reschedule it and was told not to worry about it I can just go work out and told that the personal trainer had said something about me missing the session, then tonight when I walked into the gym after hours (no staff to monitor anything) there were 2 personal trainers in the gym with tripods filming when the gym rules clearly state all over the gym no tripods are allowed and if you get caught you won’t have a membership no more. They had a member standing at the entrance door trying to scan in after hours and he could not get in because the staff never told him to download the app so I had to go out and tell him how to get in. I just feel like this is not a good start to a new business trying to do good

gym it self is nice modern. everything is clean of course) find it not so sanitary to clean the equipment with a rag the person before used to wipe their sweat. unlike other gyms who used paper towels ect. also another down to this gym is if you do have THE VIP membership those amenities can only be used during staffed hours. which child care obviously someone must be there. but the - babe cave, sauna and more! staffed hours are 9 until what ever evening time. which if you are someone who goes early before staff is present wont make sense to get the vip membership. truly think they should look into staffing the place early for those members who go early at 5am. also manager and staff is rude and unprofessional. this gym is pure aesthetic!

If you just want a place to come and workout without ever having to interact with the staff, then it's fine. I want to start this off by saying that the ladies who work in the Kids zone have all been fantastic. They have managed chaos beautifully, even on the most hectic of days. I want to give them kudos for being great.

But I just cancelled my membership after a little over two weeks after having my second incredibly negative interaction with one of the managers. I try to be understanding that they are new and still getting the lay of the land and working out the kinks, so instead of going online and publicly blasting them, I attempted to approach the front desk after I noticed a consistent pain point to provide some feedback on my experience. The manager interrupted me and inserted himself into the conversation, and while he responded with an "It was our bad" I was trying to provide more context. He continually interrupted me until he finally told me that "we don't need feedback."

In what world does any business or company not need feedback to provide better custom experience? I wasn't rude when I first approached the desk, I wasn't accusatory. When I started walking off to go get my child, I happened to look back and saw him rolling his eyes and laughing with his employee. At that point, I went back and cancelled my membership, and he couldn't get my membership cancelled quickly enough. He made it very evident that he has zero interest in retaining customers, and even butted his way in front of the staff who was trying to cancel my membership and did it for them. That whole thing didn't have to go down the way it did.

Amped has exceeded all of my expectations, possessing the finest leg equipment I have ever encountered. If I could give them a zero star rating I would. The staff needs training. I was told that as long as I bought a VIP membership I could bring my 13 year old as a guest and sign a waiver. Today I decided to bring my 13 year old and they said he could work out but he would have to have his own membership. I told the lady behind the desk that I was told before they even open that I can bring him as a guest and now I'm being told he has to have his own membership. I asked to cancel my membership and get a refund and was told I couldn't get a refund and if I cancel I would of anything due 30 days plus the $70 yearly fee. I feel like this is a rip off. This GYM won't last long at all. I asked for the manager to give me a call about this issue and never received a call back. I only went 1 day to this GYM. I Paid all of that money for what??? For my son not to join me. I understand liability reasons but I was told to sign a waiver then today the lady said they don't have that. This GYM just opened and already bad. I never experienced anything like this and want something done about this situation.

Great gym!

Some equipment have qr codes you can scan for instructional videos which I think is great. Lots of machines, babe cave is a nice private area to work in and everything is so clean.

I actually like that tripods aren't allowed, and there are signs for being fined if you don't wipe down your machines or rerack your weights. Keeps the place tidy. I just wish they had designated spots for the spray bottle and wipes so you're not hunting around for one.

Could use a plate rack in some areas for easier reracking and finding plates.. feels like there aren't enough plates in the gym, especially in the area towards the middle/front where a lot of the machines are plate-loaded.

Overall gym has everything you could want and need, staff is nice, place is clean and price is right. Large turf area. 24 hours and in a great location. So happy to call this my new gym!

The sign-up experience was great, the pricing is fair, and the facility is immaculate. The equipment layout makes the facility feel full while maintaining proper distance between gym-goers. The no-tripod rule encourages people to focus more on working out rather than being social media influencers, providing a peaceful workout environment without the hassle of navigating around tripods. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Rules such as reracking weights or facing a fine have finally established a tidy environment where weights are always in their proper place, which appeals to my OCD traits. This gym is a fantastic addition to Tallahassee, and it made canceling my other memberships an easy choice.
