As a long-time member, I can say this gym has gone downhill over the past year. Small group training—the main reason I joined—has been cut in half, and the few remaining classes are often canceled last minute with no notice. Trainers are underpaid, turnover is constant, and at times non-certified members have even filled in. Equipment issues, like a recumbent bike broken for nine months, are ignored. The only reason I’ve stayed is location and Justin, who is excellent but rarely here because he manages multiple gyms. Extremely disappointed and now considering other options.

The management in this place is truly terrible. They lied to us and overcharged us hundreds of dollars with multiple monthly fees that we should not have When we spoke with them, they said they would make it right but never did. Now we are unable to get a hold of them after months of trying. It’s run very poorly and I would definitely stay away.

Signed up for a family membership in January that included our 4 person family. Found out later that family memberships are not even available at Anytime fitness. We inquired why we were being charged extra fees and found out that every person on the account was being charged a membership fee. Also, they told us we had a one year membership and he signed us up for a two-year membership.
We met with Justin and he assured us that we would be issued a full refund because of the misinformation from a former employee.
He did manage to cancel our membership, but never gave us a refund. We are very disappointed with Anytime fitness and the situation was handled unprofessionally.
They charged us over $400 worth of fees that were not refunded.

The gym is fine, the hours and staff is fine. But let me tell you, the cancellation process is PREDATORY and should be ILLEGAL. IT IS BAD ON PURPOSE. I spent 3 hours trying to cancel a membership since I MOVED. Just recently joined Anytime Fitness at Fruit Cove. Found the gym had everything I needed for cardio, strength training, stretching, fitness classes and on-site trainers. Place is clean and have enough equipment where I am not waiting for stations. But what makes it extra special is they recently added Teerah to the staff who brings a high level of positive energy to the place that is felt but all. Makes working out that much more easier and enjoyable and pushing to achieve more!

I moved out of state and have attempted to cancel my membership in person and by phone call. No return calls. No solutions. Just charges on my account twice a month. The gym was ok, but not being able to cancel gives them a 1 star. Do not join unless you want to pay them forever. I’d give negative stars if I could.

Good selection of free weights including squat racks and a hex bar, lacking slightly in machines but still a very good amount to choose from. Equipment, gym floor and bathrooms are kept clean and staff is welcoming. Personal trainers are also offered here for anybody wondering.

I found a new gym! My two peeves - gyms that are 1) filthy and 2) have broken equipment. This Anytime Fitness was VERY CLEAN and all the equipment was in great shape. The dumbbells were all in their place, and the small gym had kettle bells, medicine balls, fitness balls, yoga mats, etc. Has three individual bathrooms, two with showers. No lockers; instead had open cubbies. Friendly and helpful staff. Can use anytime 24/7. Again, really really clean great gym.

Good gym with decent variety of equipment. Extremely poor membership and management practices. I canceled my membership when I moved out of state in June 2024, turned in my key fob, and was assured that my account was closed. I received no further written or electronic communication from the gym.

In November 2024 I began getting calls from a collections company alleging an unpaid balance, again with no written communication. I have contacted Anytime Fitness to resolve and will update this review once I have written confirmation that the matter is resolved.

Update based on response below: please contact me to confirm cancellation soonest since you'd like me to have a comfortable experience. I'll be comfortable when you do what you say.

NOT OPEN 24 HOURS, even though their Google Maps profile claims they are. The whole reason the name of this gym chain is "Anytime Fitness" is because the members are guaranteed to have a gym available ANY TIME they need it. That's what I'm paying for, and that's what I expect. What kind of gym doesn't open until 10 a.m.? Who exactly is the customer base for this gym? Retirees? I just moved into the area and was expecting to get in my morning workout like I used to at my home gym, and at 3 a.m. the place was dark and locked up. I'll be calling my home gym today to cancel my membership.

I am reading a few of these negative reviews and I am scratching my head a bit. My daughter and I have been going to this gym for about 2 months. I go nearly every day and have had nothing but positive experiences.

The staff is nice and helpful. The gym and equipment are always clean. It is never crowded and the other members are friendly.

The equipment itself is new and well maintained.

My one complaint is the lack of a smith machine.

Absolutely terrible management and leadership. We are a nonprofit that helps veterans recover from PTSD and suicidal ideation, and we use exercise as a prescription.

That said, we pay for veterans' gym memberships at the gym of the veteran's choice. Anytime Fitness Fruit Cove was picked by one of our veterans and I coordinated with Nate (manager I assume) that we would cover the 6-month program. We did not sign any agreement and it was understood that we would pay month to month.

At the conclusion of the program, we emailed Nate that the program ended and to remove our card from file. We responded that we would have to pay $50. I explained that we did not sign any agreement and we were month to month. In writing, we asked him to cancel the membership and stop all future payments.

We have attempted to call and have emailed multiple times with no responses. Nate has disregarded all communication attempts and continue to charge our card. Since we are a small nonprofit, his actions have a large effect taking funding away from other veterans that need our support.

Nate and Anytime Fruit Cove, I am highly disappointed in you and your actions. I expect a full refund for all the months you charged us after we requested the cancellation.

We keep getting billed for a membership even though we turned in our key and were told we were good to go. I had to get a credit card charge reversed and it took a month because Anytime would not respond to them either. They never answer my phone calls or reply to my emails. We went to the gym and spoke with them and were told all was clear, only to have more threatening emails sent to us about going to Collections if we don't pay this ever-increasing debt. The nonsense will not stop and they will not respond.

After seeing Facebook posts showing Fruit Cove Anytime Fitness trying to recruit older women to their location, my husband and I went there to join. That was to be two annual memberships that we were going to pay for in full that day - that was our plan. We arrived about 9:30 - the door was locked. The gym was open as people were working out. Took about ten minutes to get someone to come to the door. We told the person why we were there and what we wanted, he spoke to us at the door and seemed uncomfortable letting us in. We are young at heart and in our early 60's and are clean and presentable so we didn't understand this person's behavior toward us. We asked if there was somewhere we could go to, like a room, to talk about joining, he lead us about eight steps in from the front door. It was like pulling teeth to get this person to speak to us let alone get us membership information and did nothing to encourage us to join.. This person obviously didn't want to help us or want our business. They only information they provided was that Anytime Fitness goes through a finance company which didn't matter to us as we had already told this person we were going to pay in full. This person didn't bother to show us around, NOTHING!! IT WAS DISAPPOINTING AND EXTREMELY AWKWARD.

First of all they’re not even professional people they don’t return your calls after you have any type of contact with them and sign up for the membership. They also had a very bad communication with me about the price and now I’m trying for almost a week to solve and ask them to refund me and they didn’t even answer the phone calls , left several voice messages . Facility has been declining rapidly. Equipment not repaired in a timely manner, bathrooms out of order for long periods, floors dirty ect. They can not even purchase correct toilet paper or paper towels for their dispensers. On top of all this they have continued to charge me on a canceled membership. Do yourself a favor and join another gym.

Been going to AF for almost a year now. I travel a lot for work so it's nice that there is a AF almost everywhere I go. Only reason I won't say 5 stars is due to every AF is different in regards to what equipment is in the building for use. I prefer some over others based on this but overall they all have the necessary equipment to get those gains.

A/C has been broken for over a month. No word on when (or if) they intend to repair. Shamefully, they are still billing me biweekly for my membership dues though! (And every other member)

I think it speaks volumes about a business when the temperatures are in the 90’s and you don’t make repairing your A/C a priority. If I had wanted to do Hot Yoga, I’d have joined a Yoga studio!

I gave them 2 stars because of the handling A/C issue.

Justin, the manager signed me up for a fitness challenge that I'm not sure I was really up to since I'm still recuperating from my motor vehicle accident. But it's really great to be moving and trying to get my body a little bit in shape and used to exercising again. He is super helpful and very very motivating! He really wants everyone to succeed - that is very obvious buy everything he does for all of the members. They are very very good about cleanliness and keeping all of the equipment wiped down as well as sanitized.

It's a smaller gym, but it has everything you need to get a great workout without any of the drama. The manager Justin is great, he's very personable and friendly. The staff keeps the gym very clean, including the bathrooms and showers. There's a diverse range of ages and lifestyles of people working out throughout the day, it's a nice mix so everyone feels welcome. It's a great place to work out.

Anytime Fitness in Fruit Cove is just the right size, has all the right equipment and definitely helps me keep myself as physically fit as is possible! It may be a smaller sized gym, but don't let that fool you. It has basically all the equipment you need to get in a good workout. Justin was the staff the first day I was there, very friendly. I had a question about my form, and he was able to give me proper instructions. 4/5 stars because sadly there were no showers or a locker room. Definitely recommend tho!!

Justin and Rob are Awesome and very friendly! The gym has been remodeled with state of the art equipment. They have some new Precor back machines that I have never seen and work fantastic! Plenty of free weights and real squat racks. Cardio machines are great with TVs built in. Love this place!!

This has been my home since it first opened around 2012/2013. And i am glad it is still around. One of the best home environment gym you will ever go to.. the staff are always helpful and friendly. The manager Justin is always fun to be around and just an over all great guy. The gym itself is fine and kept well, but the showers are terrible! About 1 in 5 or 6 times, I am forced to take a cold shower. When the hot water does work, it’s too hot and if you try to adjust it, it becomes too cold and it takes about 2 minutes to get hot again, so you are constantly adjusting the temp. It’s very frustrating

I love this gym! I shopped several gyms and fitness centers in the area. The people who work here sold me on becoming a member. The staff is welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. The members are friendly, monthly dues are affordable and they have great equipment. The membership director, Justin, is great. He was pushy to get me to join; just gave great service and that's why I signed up. I was looking for a smaller fitness center. They've got all the equipment of the big box gyms with better service. And, it's one of the cleanest gyms I've ever been in. I recommend this place to all my friends.
