I've been an ATF member for 15 or more years. Having been to and used multiple ATF facilities in AK, WA, ID, OR and now FL. This particular shop is likely the worst run of the dozens I've been to. The gym is much like some others, same equipment, and it is clean. The downside of this place vs all the others, is they close down a large portion of the gym when they have personal classes. Many times the classes have one person, yet they still close off the open floor area, so no stretching or floor exercises can be done by the other people that are paying members. When I signed up, it was for the whole gym and a full workout. That can not be done at this facility. The name should read, Anytime Fitness....except when we decide you can't. But that probably wouldn't fit on the building.

It's a good gym it's small but has enough to get it done. I like Anytime Fitness for the hours of operation. I usually go to the Mt Dora location. The Summerfield location just got a slight remodel. Overall a decent gym with friendly staff.

If I could give a negative 5, I would. This is one joke of a gym. I joined with a personal and a business membership but due to outdated equipment and no one ever answering the phone or returning calls, we were done. I personally canceled both memberships, but they continued to debit (steal) from my accounts. After several months I got them to admit that they had been taking unauthorized payments and they refunded a portion. Now our account is STILL getting debited! On another personal trip, now they are saying that we only cancelled one account and they will not refund it. I suppose their auto response will be "We sincerely apologize about the issues you experienced, and we hope to make this right. Please reach out to us so we can rectify this issue." LOL, you can't even answer a phone or return a phone call! TRUST THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS, GO TO ANY OTHER GYM BUT ANYTIME FITTNESS!!!

Please do yourself a favor and actually listen to all the negative reviews. I'm at my absolute wit's end with this scam of a company. Unless you plan on having a membership here for life, stay away. They make it impossible to cancel your membership.
Go anywhere else but here. Firstly, all the machines in both this location and Lady Lake are super outdated. Still usable but sad considering I’ve visited other Anytime locations outside of this area while traveling with beautiful new machines and a nicely kept environment, so I guess it’s just here that they chose not to upgrade their equipment. This is disappointing especially since this is not by any means a cheap gym, with the amount a membership costs along with the twice yearly service fees, there should be some movement in upgrading equipment. Secondly, the contract set up is ridiculous. I signed up at the Lady Lake location, but also use Summerfield often interchangeably depending on my schedule. Back in May I go to cancel my membership at Lady Lake as I was told I needed to cancel at the location I originally signed up for. They processed the paperwork and notified me that cancelling is a 30 day process, so I will still be charged normally and allowed gym access until the 30 days were up in June, I was fine with that. As it turns out, my Lady Lake membership was cancelled however because I use the Summerfield location as well my agreement apparently got transferred there AFTER I already signed my cancellation agreement. Customer service tries giving me the run around saying I’ll have to go through the entire cancellation process again at the other location. How does that make any sense? I did not sign an agreement with any other location, simply utilizing the “benefit” they try selling us of being able to access any location. I've come to the conclusion that this "benefit" is probably just a loophole in the contract for them, your agreement automatically transfers to the location you're using most often without even asking you. A scam. Now I’m in an ongoing fight with AF, Allison was dealing with my problem for about a week before going MIA. It's been over two weeks now that I haven't heard back. I've sent a follow up email, tried calling, even showing up in person to no avail. No response to emails, never answers the phone, and conveniently the day I went in person during employee hours, only the personal trainers were there. Which apparently they don't handle membership issues. I have needed to contact corporate twice now, not even they are able to get a response from this location. So they continue telling me to wait and be patient. It has been nearly two months of this since I originally tried cancelling my membership, I have been more than patient. I have had memberships with many different gyms in the past; Planet Fitness, Youtfit, etc, and I have never had this issue with any other company. The only benefit of this gym is that it’s usually fairly empty, however this is not enough to make up for the cons. Management is clearly nonexistent here. Perhaps if I saw movement in upgrading the equipment I would say it would be worth the price they charge. But after this whole fiasco with the cancellation and terrible customer service I’m no longer interested. Don’t waste your time signing up here until this company gets their act together. I only signed up here because at the time it was the only gym in the area and it got the job done. Planet fitness just opened up down the street at half the price, all brand new with no games of agreements being “transferred” across locations. Save your time, money & sanity.

Went in expecting to sign up but then they show me the prices and explain that the prices listed are biweekly so I ask can I sign up for just two weeks? They say oh no sign up for a year, so I’m wondering why bother having prices listed in the biweekly, when you have to sign up for whole year and just tell me the price for a whole year! Just an ok establishment. An older building and a bit run down inside. Biggest complaint is when a personal trainer is working with clients an annoyingly loud timer rings throughout the whole gym every 30 seconds with no respect for the other guests. If searching for a long term facility, I would definitely go elsewhere.

If I could rate it lower than 1 star, I would. They force you to stay in a contract with them even after I told them multiple times I can not afford to pay for it anymore. I guess they feel like that’s how they keep customers is forcing them to stay in a contract. I have never experienced this with ANY gym I have went to. Planet fitness cost way less and they have a bigger gym and a more variety of machines. Like it’s absolutely ridiculous I have to deal with this on my credit report now. Again, no other gym does this kind of stuff and it is completely ridiculous and NOT a way to run a business or keep customers!

Came to Anytime Fitness Summerfield because I was in town for business for a bit. The management took very good care of me and showed me around the gym. The staff has been friendly and have excellent cardio/lifting equipment! The gym is very clean and have a great open area for abs, sparring, and the sled!

Be careful with their staff. I got two false cancelation verifications and it cost me $500...

When i signed up I said I was only in USA for 3 months and only wanted a 3 month plan. They said the easiest way to do this was to sign up for an account and then give a month's notice before I left. I said "go ahead and sign me up and I'll give you the notice right now. Set the cancelation date for March 1, 2022". I also verified verbally that i was set to cancel before I left. This was done in Feb 2022.

They proceeded to charge me for a full year after this (I didn't notice because i was not reviewing my credit card statements closely enough).

I've been coming to this location for about 8 months now; after visiting other locations, I always return here. It is a much friendlier and cleaner environment, to say the least. Joe takes excellent care of this location, keeping it clean and well stocked with supplies. This gym has a non-intimidating atmosphere, which is important for beginners. Everyone who comes in is extremely friendly, which is very nice. Whatever your situation is in terms of physical fitness and goals, this gym can help you get there. There are excellent personal trainers on hand to help you get started or stay motivated. There is always laughter and happy faces between sets when a class is in session. This location appeals to me as a frequent visitor destination.

I can't believe people are posting, that the Summerfield Anytime Fitness center is clean. I've been going to health clubs over 40 years and this club is the dirtiest club I have ever been in. Equipment is seldom cleaned, the washrooms are filthy, trash cans are seldom emptied, I've been there on Fridays after Joe leaves and the trash cans are full, came back Monday around noon and the trash cans are overflowing with paper towels. The entire place needs to be cleaned and painted. I've been a member over 10 years and will be moving my Silver Sneakers membership to Genesis in Spanish Springs after it moves into the Rialto movie theater building.

I have been a member here for five months. I have been training with Rebecca who consistently challenges me. She always comes up with new ways to work each muscle resulting in visual results! She is always encouraging and pushes you to limits you may not even realize you have.
The gym is always clean. Joe is always positive and makes you feel welcome. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking for a fun, clean gym to workout.

I visit the Anytime Fitness in Summerfield multiple times a week. Every time I go inside I am immediately greeted with smiling faces. Joe, the manager, takes great care of the facility. All the equipment appears to be clean, and I have never noticed any unclean areas. The staff is always professional and answers all my questions about how to safely workout. If I could give 0 stars I would. Nothing but a bunch of scam artists if you ask me. They will renew your account after you tell them to cancel, and then proceed to keep charging your account claiming that you never actually canceled with them. The manager I spoke with on the phone to cancel my plan said I would have to wait until the end of my contract. I said that would be fine, but then they renewed my account instead of canceling and said that I never filled out the cancelation form, but the manager did put in their notes that I inquired about canceling and they couldn't just go off me saying I wanted to cancel. I asked how come the manager that I spoke with on the phone didn't mention anything about a form? They couldn't provide me with an answer. So now I'm paying for another month of a gym membership even though I have never used the gym before. And they conveniently are charging club fees on my last month that I have to pay for now too. Take it from me and DO NOT waste your time and money with this gym. They will scam you!

I signed up at Anytime fitness when I temporarily moved into the area. I discussed this when signing up and inquired about cancelation before signing up because i knew i would be moving. They assured me as long as I could prove my change of address was out of their range that there would be no issue. I left 9 months later and talked to the GM to cancel. I submitted a freeze form in June to allow myself enough time to get a piece of mail at the new address with my name on it so i could cancel properly when i got the letter in September. The freeze wasn't even applied until September and the cancellation was never submitted.

I just found out that it was never canceled and I was charged for 9 additional months. When I reached out to the manager, Tony and Regional Manager, Stephanie they said I didn't have enough proof of the cancellation even though I handed it over to that same manager in person. I also have photos proving this was the case they denied it.

From the start of this experience I did exactly what the manager told me (fill out the freeze form, provide mail showing i moved farther than 25 miles, and i spend over 10 hours on the phone trying to get this figured out) and they still screwed me out of hundreds of dollars.

When I reached out to corporate they sent me a link that doesn't work and I have yet to receive a response.

No frills gym (offers tanning/training/classes for extra) Ive been to many gyms around the area and what ultimately led to me choosing anytime was the location and hours of operation. Yes I love a gym with complementary perks like tanning,sauna, pool, classes etc... but they're all a 20min+ drive in either direction and I found myself not going cause of the commute/hours of operation. If you already know what you're looking for fitness wise with minimal guidance then this is it. The people and staff are friendly and helpful and will guide you if ask. It is a bit small but it's usually not super crowded and the key gets you access to other locations.

Staff is a bit awkward and uninviting. It's usually unkept and messy and there's always at least 1 or 2 machines broken. Worst thing of all is that there's no service in that area(AT&T) and the WiFi does not work well IF AT ALL. I mentioned it to the manager months ago and it's still not fixed. Other than it being the closest gym to my house it just plain stinks.
