Spoke to Lenita on 1/9/25 and she “cancelled” our membership. Sat in her office for 20 minutes while she gave us a spiel to not cancel. We gave our key fob back and signed something to cancel. Greg and Lenita both witnessed this interaction. 3/24/25 they have not cancelled the membership and lied to us when we came in to get it fully cancelled. They couldn’t provide anything that we signed, said it was a “survey” tho we were told it was cancelation processing. just gave us a number to call and cancel, which if that’s what I was able to do the first time why wasn’t I told that? Now we’re out 150, they have the key fob to a gym I keep getting charged for. They’re scammers and liars.

This gym has a good selection of equipment for what I need. However, people often do not re-rack their weights, do not clean the equipment, or even throw their wipes away properly. It's a waste of time and energy to unrack other people's weights, along with my own. Same thing with having to clean machines before and after use since some people do not clean off their sweat. Staff need to emphasize proper gym etiquette when new members sign up. I took a few pics today to prove my point, and it's a trend every time I go. With today being my leg day, it irked me to have to rerack plates left by other members at the smith machine, the barbell, the incline leg press, and the hip thrust machine. For the price per month, I also wish they vacuumed and replaced the wipes/paper towels a little more often. The other week, there weren't any paper towels in the bathroom for days, several recepticles were out of wipes, and dust/dirt/crumbs on the floor around machines, like the regular leg press machine

I’ve been a member for about two years (not the cheapest 24 hour gym in town), def not a consistent gym goer. Trying to get back into the habit. My husband and I didn’t know where our key fobs were. He had his replaced for quite an expensive fee. When I had the chance to replace mine two weeks later, I was told it was double what he paid. Not sure why it was expensive to begin with to replace but then double the amount two weeks later. The other alternative was to download the app and the key card is free on the app. They didn’t give my husband the option of that otherwise he would have downloaded the app for free. Anita returned my original voicemail days later inquiring about replacement and when staff would be there, but she did not realize another staff member already helped me and informed me of the free access on the app. She just said “oh I will talk to that person”, so hopefully he isn’t in trouble for telling me about the app versus paying a fee for access. When I inquired why my husband paid one price and I was told another, she did not have an answer and the phone call abruptly ended without her saying bye, just a click.

Do NOT sign any form of contract with Anytime Fitness, especially this location. I have been going through hell with this location to get my one year contract cancelled since I moved due to military reasons. Their agreement states that if you move and are not within 10 miles of another Anytime Fitness location you may cancel your agreement and pay the cancellation fee. Well good luck trying to get in contact to cancel because they seem to never have staff available to answer the phone and going in person for me is not an option due to how far I moved. I tried emailing them as well multiple times and never got a response from them. I have been getting charged the past three months for a service I can't even use. Lesson learned I will never be using Anytime Fitness again.

This gym used to be 5 star. I loved it.

This Anytime Fitness has really gone downhill sense the new ownership took over several months ago. Within the first few months of new ownership, they ran out of cleaning wipes for the equipment. Climbing on nasty, sweaty equipment was a huge turn-off, so I went and bought wipes for the gym because that's what you do when you feel like you're helping your family. Later on, learning the gym was sold and putting 2 and 2 together. I realized the problem was with the new corporate ownership. I'm really disappointed in the new corporate feel the gym has. Trainers were abundant before. Now, the staff and the trainers are stretched to thin, and the personalized feel is no longer here. Emily is the only one who is trying to keep things feeling the way it used to be. Hopefully, with time and Emily doing what she does, this gym can get back to what it used to be. If not, I will be canceling my membership.

The gym is good, with quality equipment and a clean environment. The only thing missing are notices for people to clean the equipment after use.
It's also important for them to put the weights or plates back in their place after finishing their workout.
No one should have to remove weights left by others in order to use the equipment, as it is a disrespectful behavior

I went online and signed up for a tour at this location, but when I arrived for the tour at my scheduled time, there wasn't any staff present. I rang the doorbell several times and got let in by a member and waited for 20 minutes outside of the office and nobody ever showed up, even though the staffed hours listed on the door showed there should have been someone there and I had an appointment scheduled. I called the number listed on Google and nobody answered so I left. Ended up going to the Apollo Beach location which actually worked out better because that location actually had staff available who helped me get signed up on the spot for $10 a month less than the sun city location, so thank you for being so poorly operated!!

I recently visited Anytime Fitness, and overall, I had a decent experience. The gym boasts a variety of good quality equipment, which is a big plus. However, there is one significant issue that I feel needs to be addressed: the lighting.

The lights at Anytime Fitness are incredibly bright, especially during intense workouts. While it's great to have a well-lit gym, the brightness becomes a real problem when the lights are positioned directly in front of you while exercising. I understand the importance of proper lighting for safety and visibility, but it's equally essential to consider the comfort of the gym-goers. I found myself squinting and struggling to see properly, especially during exercises that required concentration.

Wow, just came for a quick workout while I was in the area and I’d have to say this is the nicest anytime fitness I’ve been to in the state. The gym was clean and had a nice ambiance to it. The front is dedicated to cardio and workout machines are mainly in the middle for the gym. In the back is a turf area and weight lifting area. The equipment is pretty new and we’ll taken care of. My husband and I were searching for a gym close to both of our jobs to go to in the morning and found this one. It said 7 day free trial so we signed up for a tour and trial with the hopes of signing up. When we arrived, after getting a text that “Ray” was waiting to see us at our appointment times, we walked in for an employee to tells us that the website automatically does that and there is no 7 day free trial. She said we can have 1 day to try it out but it has to be between 10am and 8pm which we cannot do because we work for a living. She then went on to tell us we could pay $10 a day or $50+ a month. Very disappointed. Complete false advertising. Meanwhile, we received a free trial at Crunch and less than half price got a free shirt, tanning, classes, etc. I would’ve been willing to pay the extra money had the website not been a complete lie and waste of our time and gas.

It's one of the best gyms out there. I'm over in Florida and I used to go to the one in Parrish that costed me $40 a month but I switched to the one in Sun City Center now I'm only paying $30. Not to mention the one in Sun City has better equipment, nicer employees who give every single detail no matter how big or small. They also have little events every so often that makes the gym even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Anytime Fitness to those who want to start working out just make sure you listen to the employees and don't be afraid to ask questions they won't hesitate to answer them quickly and to every minute detail.

A convenient-small fantastic local gym! Although it’s small, it has every workout equipment needed to reach your fitness goals that are fun to use and are able customize your workouts! I usually have fun time spending 45 mins or an hour or two working out and trying new workout challenges occasionally while listening to my music while enjoying the motivating atmosphere from other members. They continue to expand their center with bringing new equipment, and working other improvements! The staff practice good hygiene in keeping the place clean! Ray, Emily, and the rest of the staff are friendly and welcoming to all their members! So ive been frequenting this location for a few months now and i gotta say, the staff members are extremely friendly, considerate, and the most transparent of all the anytimes ive used. They are eager to help with any concerns and do everything in their power to help their members. The gym its self is always clean, and very well maintained. In comparison to other gyms ive been to, the size is larger they have more in terms of lifting and everything has a better quality to it. From weights to straps, and belts for weighted body workouts its by far the best anytime ive been to! 100% recommend this location over any other in hillsborough county. it does get busy in the evenings but the variety of equipment makes it pretty easy to work my sets regardless of the amount of people that are there. And actual sports on tvs instead of the news is the cherry on top for me. Especially when im here 5-6 days a week.

Let’s start with my two star has meaning.
1st you think anytime fitness and your fees pay for any gym… which is true but a catch.
Go to a different gym for any length of time they change your contract to their location… so at 1 gym the membership was $19.99 + tax. But if you go to another gym for a length of time… you will be switched to that gym are your rates probably will go up. They change your contract without even telling you. How this is legal I haven’t the foggiest.
First adding tax is illegal. They are selling a product they are a service. Services don’t charge taxes. So instead you’re paying their income tax for your membership or most likely your paying the credit processing fees and they call it tax…
I went to this location and on their site I was supposed to get a 7 day no obligation test ride… well… that was a lie and false advertising. They gave me a free test day.
All I can say is anytime fitness as a whole is a contract gym for a reason because they trap you in their costs and changes that they don’t have to inform you of.
Now as a gym it was clean and some good machines but nowhere compared to other gyms around me. The fact is I would give a gym like this less than a star usually… but they gained a star purely due to the man who was there selling memberships was honest with me. Sadly my sons rates will change if he stays going to this location.
My suggestion go to another gym.

This is not the same gym it was years ago. Trainers are awesome. (I highly recommend Walter) They get to know you and check on you. Clean and new equipment that is Bluetooth friendly. I have been trying to cancel membership and have tried to call. No one answers the phone. I’ve left messages and no one returns my calls. After months of trying while they continued to charge me monthly I finally drove two hours to the gym. There were three men in the office. One asked what I needed. I told him and he gave me a clip board where I wrote my name, phone number and email address. He said someone would contact me and that I would receive a cancellation receipt. It has been over a week now and I haven’t received any calls or emails. I’m starting to believe they are seriously trying to rip me off and it’s really upsetting me now. I’ll give them two more days then I will be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau on them. They have terrible customer service at this gym and I totally regret joining them at all! I would not recommend them to anyone.

I have been trying to contact someone for over 2 weeks regarding cancelling my membership at the end of my contract date. The company that collects payment, ABC Financial said that I needed to have Anytime Fitness fill out paperwork to allow me to quit the gym. I have sent emails, stopped in to talk to someone and no one it ever there, I have tried to call but no one answers the phone and you can not leave a message. I have even tried to call their corporate office and no surprise no one answers the phone and you can not leave a message.The Anytime Fitness in Sun Center and the one in Riverview has really gone down hill. This is my home gym, but I have been to other Anytime Fitness centers (Apollo, Kennedy, and keystone, and Brandon centers) . I can say others are way better and do a better job at sanitation. They have recently got more paper towels and sanitation bottles. I use to see a lady cleaning early in the morning. Other gyms have the wipes. Its been like that for a year. This is the only ATF that don't have hand sanitizer by the front by the door. The equipment is in pretty good condition. Also the new business hours are horrible, I need to update information. Has been trashy as of late. Obviously no custodial service for the last week or so. No paper towels from the dispensers, spray bottles empty and trash cans overflowing. It's a hassle having to walk the length of the gym just to get towels. Machines are good but just need the custodial service back.

Love this place. Ben is a great personal trainer that is worth the extra money and the manager is super nice. It’s never too busy and you always get a good workout there. It’s cleaner than most gyms I go to and the classes are always a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Overall this gym has what you need to get a good workout in. A decent combination of weights and cardio equipment. 1 squat rack / 1 smith machine/ and dumbbells up to 100lbs I think. Personally I would like to have more variety and more equipment to use but given the size of the gym its understandable.

It's a small, but decent gym. The 24hr availability is a huge plus, and there are not many other options in this area. Overcrowding will happen during certain times of the day, but that should be expected. The area seems safe, with a GNC right next door. The gym is kept clean. I have no experience with the showers. I prefer to use my own shower at home. For the most part, most people keep to themselves. Occasionally, paper-towels will run out in the dispensers, but there are many in the gym. If you forget your headphones, have no fear, they play decent music in there to keep you pumped up. Multiple TV's, some with closed caption on... (not sure why the TV's without closed caption on, have it off though)

Tiny gym with limited equipment. There are all of 5 treadmills and 1 of each other exercise machine. The free weight area is extremely claustrophobic and there never seems to be a staff member around during regular hours keeping the place clean and organized. They're always sitting in the office doing nothing.

Pretty good. A little crowded as it is a small gym. Unfortunately some of the annoying Golds Gym type dudes walking around with street clothes, gold chains and doused in cologne....mistaking the gym for a cheap nightclub maybe? C'mon guys, it's a gym. Also the usual issue with 3 or 4 guys that have a need to work out as a group, often dominating one machine at a time for hours. So, the usual annoying stuff you'll find at most gyms. They need more stationary bikes too. But, it's a clean gym, good quality equipment, and the 24 hour access is a big plus.

There Sun City Center location is very busy. There are classes available for members, and lots of free weights in the back. The place feels a little crowded.
