Last year joined. Wasn’t told I was signing a one year contract. Contract not sent to email or printed for me. When I left for 6 months (as a snowbird) was told I’d still have to pay.

I showed up at 6 PM to sign up for a membership, well before their posted staffed hours of 7 PM and no one answered either of the listed phone numbers or the doorbell for 30 minutes. I was ready to sign up for a two-year membership today, but the lack of response completely turned me away. This is a really disappointing way to lose a potential member.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE in the customer service dept. They're so nice during the sales pitch to get your money but then terrible at assistance. Signed up for group training and had work issues arise so asked that I could pause my sessions. "Call us and we'll work something out" they said... Well I've called 4x and texted 4x without the courtesy of a return call. Equipment is broken and when I mentioned that to them, they laughed and said Yeah, its been that way for as long as I can remember. Stay away ..Dont give this place your money. I should have listened to the reviews. Totally regretting coming here.

Manager Lane is knowledgeable, friendly, has a "can do" attitude, and demonstrates outstanding customer service. The machines are tidy, and always in good working condition; bathrooms are spotless, possibly the cleanest of any gym I have ever been to. Use to have a nice heavy punching bag, wish they would bring it back. The staff working there, along with the trainers; are spot on, best of the best. It's a fun place to workout, I recommend it, and am glad to be a member.

The coaches I work with, Em and Alex, are the best. I have MS and need help with my strength and balance. I have come a long way and it's because of these two men. Alex is the coach I now work with on a regular basis. He is so knowledgeable and has a remarkable background in his field. Supportive in every way.

Went there twice to look at the place. First time the owner or manager would not let me look around. Second time he let me in to look but was very arrogance. Looked fine but the attitude I got from the owner I am not sure I want to join. Edited after response. As you can see he didn't even read the review. It had nothing to do with a cancellation.

Terrible service, very cheap and everything, but terrible service, they don't have time to serve their clients, you make an appointment and they change it at the last minute and on top of that they postpone it until the owner feels comfortable, and you don't know if they're going to do it later Same thing, go to the genesis of the villages, they give you 3 days for free to test the machines and advise you on how their company works

Do NOT join this gym. They will lock you into a year membership and will not cancel it. You’ll get the run-around, and they will tell you there is nothing they can do about it. Spend a couple more dollars and go to Genesis in Brownwood. Way bigger, way more equipment, nicer equipment, and you can quit any time, just need to give them 30 day notice.

Edit: I have read your response below, and you are lying. I have a medical condition that prevents me from exercising for the next 5-8 months. You still refused to cancel my membership because it isn't a "permanent condition." Stay away from Anytime Fitness, very unethical owners. You can't talk to anyone but the local gym manager, who can't (or wont) do anything.

I recently moved into sumterville in October. I used to go to Planet fitness where I moved from because it was closer. Now, anytime fitness is my closest gym. Because of the gym membership pricing, I couldn't afford anytime fitness. Recently, things have changed and I started seeking a gym membership.

My first interaction with a staff member was great. The gentleman was friendly, and heard what I needed. He scheduled an appointment for me. Unfortunately, I completely forgot and was sidetracked with work. The next day, as soon as I remembered, I called back to either reschedule or meet with them shortly after the call. No one answered my call. This was at 1pm. I showed up around 3pm, and the young man that was there - Chris - wouldn't let me speak, he was rude, and interrupted me.

He was able to answer my questions but he seemed upset. After I left, I called ebcause I wanted to sign up, no answer. I called three times. Chris did not answer my call.

I sent an email before staff was gone - no answer.

Needless to say, I went with Planet fitness in Leesburg. I rather drive 30 mins out of my way, than deal with a gym with horrible customer service for the price - ain't nobody got time for that!

Planet fitness made signing up much easier and faster, all done in the app. Anytime fitness requires a tour - which by the way, the gym in bushnell is not worth the bi-weekly charge and the 2 yearly maintenance charge AND a contract!

Planet fitness offers $25 MONTHLY, you can bring a friend, tanning bed, massage, smoothies, trainers, and much more. You can sign up in the app, no contracts, and they are much bigger with more workout options. Also, judgement free zone for any one struggling and/or embarrassed to work out in front of others.

I've been a member of this gym for over a year. It used to be pretty good. Lately it's been very dirty with broken machines, duct tape handles, TV's are all on Fox news or the food channel, not the thing you want to watch while working out. Paper towels dispensers have been empty, the cleaner spray bottles don't work (at least two), bathroom is funky and no one is ever cleaning this place. Many machines have sand or dirt on them, this place is really going downhill. Fix the machines and hire someone to clean.

The gym is starting to show its age. Multiple pieces of equipment are breaking. There is a 90 lb dumbbell that has been broken for two months it's just laying on the floor. Treadmills don't get fixed as in you can't actually run on most of them because they won't hold speed. Pec deck machine was broken on last visit. Tricep pushdown handles are breaking up. Duct tape on the machines. Where is the pride in ownership?

I am an optum onepass select member. This location is unable to register optum members into anytime fitness. The guy upfront was nice, but AF corporate should give better instructions and guidance. I tried telling support, but the AF support page was broken at the time of writing.

This is a good gym to work out in. Very friendly staff (coaches). There is enough cardio equipment and plenty of weights and weight circuit training machines. HOWEVER I am taking off a star for the following reasons: the Life Fitness cardio machines (bikes, elliptical etc) are older models. They even have 30 pin iPod connectors on the machines. Also the machines do not have Bluetooth. Because of this my wireless heart rate monitor can not connect to the machines. Therefore I have to leave my hand on the pulse sensors built into the machines. The other deduction is for the WiFi at the gym. The connection isn’t that great and drops repeatedly. Try streaming music or a video streaming service while working out and you are out of luck. I was barely able to finish one or two songs while listening to SXM working out. This happened on both my iPad and iPhone so it is their WiFi at fault.

I called and left a message. I left a message through email and I visited the office during “office hours” and no one was there. I waited 15 mins and no show. Every time I call it goes to voicemail. The voicemail says they’re probably helping a new customer…. That’s a joke! 3 attempts to sign up multiple ways. It’s unfortunate work ethic in folks these days suck! I've been a member for a year. The gym isn't bad if you go during off hours (9 pm to 5 am). But the place is too small for regular workout hours. Also it costs $770 a year for membership. I think that's too high for so small of a gym with limited equipment. I could basically buy the equipment I use there for myself in three years. Also, the manager is not friendly and borderline rude. I wouldn't recommend this gym unless you do not have any other option.

I shopped around for a gym in the area which would serve as a continuation of my exercise program that I started after triple bypass surgery. (I also am looking forward to strengthening my legs before knee replacement surgery that is planned for next month.) I feel that here I found the right gym for my workouts. I was heartened that AF had a state-of-the-art recumbent bike like the ones they have in Cardiac Rehab, which would help me continue my rehabilitation when the required medical rehab finishes. It also helps that this particular AF is only minutes away from where I live!!

Not bad for an Anytime Fitness. Definitely don’t enjoy being here when it’s busy, there’s not enough machines but it is a small place. Plenty of parking. Showers have sulfuric water and it’s stinky but it works 🤷🏼‍♀️ I appreciate the ample cleaning stations around the gym but not so much how it isn’t enforced. I do feel safe while inside but it can be sketchy at night due to lack of lighting in the parking lot. The few interactions I’ve had with the staff have been positive and kind.

Update 2/24/22: water is no longer sulfuric! They have hired a new staff member who is walking the floor to make sure you’re happy and if you have any questions! Still don’t feel safe in the parking lot at night, so I try to park as close as possible. I wish that they offered more classes catering to younger people, but I still get my moneys worth with my own workouts.

I was a member for a cpl of years and then decided to make a change to Planet Fitness in Leesburg, because this place was too small, had too few pieces of equipment, had too many sweatty oldsters not wearing a mask or cleaning equipment. Great location with lots of parking. Management staff is very helpful with workout questions, with trainers available if desired. Equipment is kept in tip top shape and the variety is what you want to find in your local gym. Heavier weights available for those that like more options than just 50 lb free weights. Plenty of space and the music playing is typically 70s/80s/90s rock which is my fav :-).
