I went to meet Eric at Armstead Fitness to complete a physical workout assessment. Right when I got there, I was greeted by Eric and we started my assessment. He was very personable and easy to talk to with his upbeat and positive attitude. He had me lift some weights and then we did some boxing. Very cool! The gym overall was clean and organized, and the equipment was in good shape. Also, lots of mirrors, which I loved. Overall, great experience!

I started on 4/9/24 and it changed my life , I started on the first day I was there i was only able to do 3 jump ropes today I'm doing over 90 a minute , I feel very strong and healthy, boxing is part of the workout it's a good stress reliever ,Eric is really good at training us & motivation.

Spent 6 weeks working out at Armstead Fitness and learned so much, had fun and got more fit than I had been in years. Every workout was different, so it never got boring. Only stopped because of family commitments out of state. I'll definitely go back!

What a fun time but we "got that work"! Erick has every kind of fitness gadget out there. We work hard! First we do ab work, planks, russian twists etc. Then we box. 100, 200 or 250 punch sets: jab, jab, cross, body shots, fast hands, hammers etc... Last but not least we strength train with weights, ropes, balls, resistance bands, THE bike, skier. If you are coming back from an injury or surgery, he will watch you like a hawk to make sure you do everything correctly. Come see for yourself - I promise you will never be sorry!

I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease (PD) in January 2010. My primary symptoms are rigidity, freezing and balance issues. I have participated in various exercise classes since then as exercise is known to combat PD symptoms, with limited success. Erik is Rock Steady Boxing certified, which is a program specifically for people with PD. I have been working with Erik for two months and the results to this point are very encouraging!
Overall, I have seen a reduction in my off times and am more confident in my ability to walk. I am jumping rope, which I haven't been able to do in several years.I feel extremely more confident in my balance and my strength has increased as well. He also has me doing cardio and core exercises. In addition, he uses a variety of exercises and equipment which help keep the workouts fun.
Erik is client focused and very pleasant to work with, he always seems to have a smile on his face. He encourages me to do my best and get the most out of the exercises, but also recognizes when I have reached my limit.

My husband, Virgil, started Rock Steady Boxing with Erick in March of 2019 and has followed him ever since. From day one Erick has been calling Virgil "Face" and that nickname has stuck with him to this day. "Face" was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in May of 2017. Erick is very aware of his capabilities (at the young age of 83) and has a way of getting the most out of him. I have been going to all of my husband's classes since day one and enjoy watching how much "fun" Erick can make each class ( I don't know who enjoys the classes more (the TRAINER or the person being trained)!! We consider Erick as part of our family. He is very knowledgeable, considerate, and always has a smile for you. Erick, your dream has finally come true and we are so happy that you have a studio that you can call your own, best of luck to you and your family. Love you Erick!

The equipment is ALL NEW and the facilities are clean and well maintained. Erick is a great trainer. He can work with all ages and all abilities. Very motivational and encouraging. I do small group fitness classes and we do something different every class. It is never boring or repetitive. It is a great workout and a fun time. Convenient location also. Super excited to work out here!

Erick is the best! A friend recommended him because I wanted to build my upper body strength. I've been training with him for a month, and my transformation was immediate. Not only am I so much stronger, but my balance has improved and my stamina has exploded. The boxing has also helped me tap into the fighter deep inside me, and I'm moving through life with more confidence. Erick's energy is so positive, and I've been having a terrific time. I highly recommend Armstead Fitness... especially for women.

I am only speaking from second hand experience as my dad works with Erik weekly, taking private boxing lessons, however I have nothing but positive things to say. My father has Parkinson’s and Erik has worked with my father to develop personalized and thoughtful training sessions that focus on areas he is looking to strengthen and improve. My dad looks forward to his weekly sessions with Erik as these continue to motivate him to punch Parkinson’s square in the face. Thanks for making my dad so strong Erik!

My father lives in Estero FL and consistently works with Erick multiple times / week and absolutely raves about his experience and how much fun he has! My dad has Parkinson's and Erick is doing wonders in terms of helping my dads physical and mental coordination stay strong! Although I don't have personal experience with Erick, I am very thankful for him as he is helping my dad a great deal. He's got an excellent outlook, is a first class coach, and great guy. My wife and I began taking boxing classes from Erick and Armstead Fitness last fall at Lexington Country Club. This class offers a great cardio workout, works on our agility, balance and strength-all incorporated with teaching us boxing skills.
Erick’s style of training is motivational and fun. He has a great sense of humor and encourages everyone to work and push themselves to the best of their ability.
It has helped my wife in her tennis game by strengthening her backhand and net play.
This has been a great experience to learn a new sport and to reap the health benefits of this type of conditioning.

Erick does classes at Lexington Country Club, and I’ve been attending for a month or so. The classes are fun, and we do a fair amount of interval work, which is a different kind of cardio than my normal cycling and running. Classes are two days per week, and I’m down about 4 pounds already! Erick’s classes are the only thing I’ve changed, so I gotta believe it’s the interval/cardio that’s causing that (throwing three sets of 160 punches, even light ones, as fast as you can...is exhausting!)
