Only good things about this place not only takewando also discipline and respect all the coaches are amazing love the rewards the kids get when they do good we been there for almost 4 months and we loved my son is always looking forward to he’s next class.. thanks to the coach for help my son and giving him advice one time he was getting bully at school definitely your words have a impact on him we truly appreciate that. My daughter did the ATA program for a year and a half, and I want to give my honest take on everything. We discontinued classes mainly because of the schedule. It is not easy because classes are 3-4 times a week, all at different times. The inconsistent times made it difficult to manage a regular schedule at home between school, dinner, bedtime, and other siblings. We would not have been able to manage it without the help from grandparents.
All the instructors are very nice, maybe too nice. They started giving out superlative-type awards at the belt ceremonies, which seem too soft for martial arts, like a participation award. Just my personal opinion, but I would hope the dynamic to be more rigid and less soft so the kids would try harder.
Not to say though that there isn't structure at ATA - lots of homework assignments for parents to complete about their child's behavior, and lots of star charts, patches, belt stripes, etc.
I think this kind of program might work well for some people, since there were a handful of kids who were diligent and did great, but it was ultimately not what we hoped it would be in the end.

SO IMPRESSED and so happy I found ATA! Mrs. Halpin and Mr. Schwarz are amazing with the kids. They know how to connect with them instilling discipline and respect all while having fun. They are teaching so much more than just karate.

GO HERE! That's the best I can summarize. We enrolled our grandson at the Ormond Beach school and sat through every session. The instructors are the best in the business. They don't train UFC fighters (although they could), they train disciplined, productive, and respectful human beings. They teach conditioning, self-reliance, and instill in their students the confidence to accomplish their dreams. The lessons go far beyond kicks and punches. They talk about homework, grades, doing chores, listening, gratitude, and much more. The instructors get to know you personally and are willing to help teach, mentor, and guide students to be the best they can be. We could not speak more highly of the Ormond Beach facility and its instructors. We were with them for about 4.5 years and feel the experience was just as good for the (grand)parents as it was for the students!
