I highly recommend Axis Training Studio! I've been attending Axis for almost a year, and I've noticed a significant improvement in my physique and endurance level since I started.
Before joining Axis, I worked out three times a week with a home-based personal trainer. While I had established a good baseline, my goal was to increase strength and muscle mass. I now attend group classes twice a week and have one personal training session with Chad.
Chad has consistently challenged me and helped me stay on track to achieve my goals. He is also incredibly knowledgeable in his field, always educating me on the science and body mechanics behind our exercises and programs, which I find very helpful.
Again, I wholeheartedly recommend Axis. They offer excellent group classes and instructors, so whether you're looking for strength gains, body fat reduction, or simply to improve your overall health, they have a wide variety of options that can help you achieve your fitness objectives.

Since August, β23, I have been going to AXIS and I am humbled and grateful for the amazing trainers here! I spent 45 years building bad habits and ignoring fitness, when I finally had some success on my own I learned that effort without knowledge was causing me to do a lot of work but also harm to my body. Chad and Emily have been amazing unrelenting source of positivity and knowledge, they never make me feel bad having to remind me for the 100th time to stop certain bad habits and posture. Also, the complete structure of my workouts are 100% custom to my personal needs. When I have had issues with a weak lower back, they have been able to switch roles and prove how much skill they have at recovery as well. This last point cannot be understated, their guidance and dedication goes far beyond my expectations!

Iβm 69 but I have kept myself in pretty good shape over the years. I wear the Whoop fitness tracker and was struggling to recover back to normal after catching the flu that turned into pneumonia. My wife is a current member of AXIS and talked to Jake about my situation. Jake recommended I try Red Light Therapy a couple of times a week for a while. Iβm glad I did, after my first couple of sessions my recovery started improving and by the 5th session I was almost back to normal and started doing my strength training again. I continued for several months and could tell Red Light Therapy was helping me recover from strength training quicker than usual. I also enjoyed how I felt after each session, like floating on a cloud and all the tension gone.
I would recommend AXIS to my friends because of my personal dealings with Jake and Amy and because my wife is very pleased using them for her fitness training.

Before I started with AXIS Training Studio, I used to be tired and breathing heavy whenever I walk long distance but since I been going to AXIS Training I'm not as tired and my endurance is a whole lot better now. Couldnβt be happier! Iβve been a client for 4 months and am so incredibly pleased with the training I have received. My trainer, Julia, is amazing. The program she created for me has been perfect for addressing the concerns I brought to her in our first session.
For the first time in years, I feel like I can actually move my body without being worried that Iβm going to hurt myself. My core was so weak after two pregnancies with bed rest and c-sections that I was constantly compensating for that, which had led to chronic back pain. But within a month of stability and mobility training, I could tell a difference. And a few months later, my core is so much stronger, my posture is better, body fat percentage is down, muscle mass is up, I have more energy, and Iβm loving the strength training weβre doing now.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I genuinely enjoy going to this studio, as Iβve never had a positive experience in gyms. I never know where to start, or if Iβm even exercising correctly, and with how massive the gyms are, I always wanted to get out as quickly as possible due to being anxious over large crowds of people. My dad has been going to this studio for a couple of years now, and every time he talks about his experience, itβs always been positive, so I decided to try it for myself. At Axis, I donβt have to worry about larger crowds since their studio is small, and I also donβt worry about whether Iβm doing the exercise correctly since I have a trainer to help guide me. I love that they tailor the workouts based on your personal goals! The personal trainers are also great! Theyβre very kind, and their positive attitudes are reflected in the atmosphere theyβve created. The trainers explain why we do specific exercises and how they will help me reach my goals, which I think is excellent, so Iβm not exercising without knowing how it benefits me. Overall, itβs been a great experience, and now I look forward to working out!

Axis training is a great small cross training studio for any fitness level. I have gone to many hit/CrossFit studios in both Gainesville and around the country and axis ranks in my top 5 favorites for cleanliness, efficient workouts, and community. I felt right at home in my first class. Target Demographic for this gym seems to vary but ages range from 25-65 with all varying fitness levels and specialty in taking care of previous injuries. Class sizes probably max out at around 12 people total (comfortably) in the room at a time so all group fitness classes are intimate and you get the attention you need for proper form and just the right amount of push/motivation. I took my first class with Taylor Allen and she really made me feel taken care of while still feeling like a βregularβ at their studio. Cant wait to go again!

My husband and I love training at Axis. The staff is always very friendly, the energy is very vibrant, and it has kept us motivated to come train even during the days when weβre feeling very tired.
We have always been active, but since having my daughter, and during the pandemic, we were not able to have a regular physical activity or find the time for it. I found that having a coach and a short, yet intense, train session has helped a lot to keep us on track and well motivated.
In a short period of time we could already notice change in our body measures, weight and level of energy.
I definitely recommend Axis to friends and whoever wants to have a healthier lifestyle.

All the coaches and interns working here are the best. When I had a hernia operation, they researched and designed a workout plan during my 1:1 session to ensure I strengthen my operated area (when cleared by my doctor). Just finished the 21 day fat flush program and boy was it a doozie! The crew does an excellent job at motivating you through the workouts and the other member are super friendly. I have some issues with one of my shoulders and luckily Axis specializes in modifying workouts to meet your needs, still feeling the burn while avoiding damage. I found a tremendous value in the body scans that help show the progress youβve made through the journey as well. Of course, with any weight loss journey itβs 90% diet so you must eat healthy along with the workout routines. Luckily the Axis team sends out meal planing ideas and healthy dinner ideas for you to try! Absolutely worth your time and money! Thank you Axis, for helping me along my journey!

I've been practicing yoga for 20 years, but after a hysterectomy in 2017, I developed chronic back pain. I started working with Jon Inman as my trainer in June 2021. My pain levels are not only more manageable, I have tools that I can use to manage pain on my own with regular mobility stretching.
Jon did a great job tailoring my workouts to my strengths while addressing structural issues that were aggravating chronic pain conditions. I'm stronger, I have a greater level of endurance, and my quality of life is continuing to improve. I can measure my progress not only on the scale, but also in my body's functionality.
They do a great job with covid protocols, too.

I've been going to AXIS for 10 years since they were at the first location on W University near Home Depot. At the time AXIS advertised they specialized in people who were released from physical therapy for injuries yet not fully recovered. The team members at AXIS (in particular Jonathan) did an amazing job getting me back to full recovery. Since then I've been using them to stay in shape esp with my fully sedentary desk job. They've worked with me several times after injuries and trained me extensively during my pregnancy and definitely played a major role in my surviving a very difficult birth. Jonathan Inman is an amazing trainer. Not too long ago he gave me a PNOE test, and I was amazed by the results. You can see the passion he has for his profession and his clients all the time. He's able to push you beyond your preconceived limits. The PNOE test is something top tier athletes use to measure muscle types, breathing, mobility, fat burning, and much more. Then Jonathan can create a truly customized plan for you. It's astonishing AXIS has this and Jonathan is an expert in it.

I have been attending small group sessions at Axis for over a year now. I really enjoy the smaller group size and the atmosphere there. Everyone is so supportive of one another and the trainers are there for YOU. They watch and help make sure you do the exercises correctly to prevent injury. I lived a largely sedentary lifestyle before AXIS. All the fitness programs I attempted over the years would push me too hard at the start and I'd quit in a matter of weeks from becoming discouraged or even injured. But with the expert knowledge of the AXIS staff, I relied solely on bodyweight exercises for the first 3 months and gradually became stronger by adding weight to those same exercises every month since then! The AXIS difference is in their ability to scale exercises to any individual's fitness level. I even credit them for getting me to a level of health that allowed me to stop taking medications for high blood pressure and cholesterol!

With the Gyms reopen I was finally able to do the 6 week small group training (SGT) I signed up for just before the covid-closures. My fiance and I finished just in time for our engagement photos this weekend and I couldn't be happier with the results. I've got more energy throughout the days and seeing the other people in the class improving along with me motivates me to keep going and try harder each class. We're signing up for another month.
Even with a regular gym membership I found myself making excuses and not using it because of how busy life gets. The real problem was that I was not being efficient or effective with my workouts, so I wasn't seeing the results I wanted and I was wasting a ton of time going nowhere.

I purchased a 3 intro personal training package, which included a Inbody Body Composition Analysis. Everyone at the studio was great. Jake was incredible. He monitored all of my exercises and corrected any movements I was not performing correctly. I didn't feel I was doing anything that would cause energy later. I've been coming here for a year. The staff is knowledgeable and committed to helping you achieve your goals. They explain the theory behind the exercises and how the exercises help. The environment is comfortable and supportive.
They offer personal training sessions where you are one-on-one with a trainer. They teach you the exercises and monitor your form to make sure you don't injure yourself and that you get the most benefit. They create a personal plan based on your needs and abilities. And the plan evolves every few weeks as your fitness level improves.
They also offer sessions with small groups at various times during the day. The noontime groups I've seen averaged six to eight people. You won't see the hordes of people like you do at GH&F. If you are serious about improving your fitness level, this is the place to go.

Love this gym! They've been super helpful to me as I've eased back into exercise and I always feel like I've gotten a great workout. Before I started at Axis training I worked out maybe once or twice a week on my own. Watching videos or running mainly, just to keep my shape. But I decided I needed a more permanent workout routine and something to keep me motivated. I joined Axis training studio nine months ago and have loved every minute of it!! My trainers have kept me accountable for working out at the gym and at home as well as keeping me straight on my food intake. I have noticed significant results in the amount of muscle and tone I have in my arms, legs, buttocks, and shoulders. I started training at Axis in April 2019 with the goals of losing weight and increasing my strength. I was living a sedentary lifestyle with a poor diet. The first two months were a struggle for me. But after my first evaluation results I felt motivated to improve my food choices and start working out on my days off. I'm very pleased at how much my strength and endurance have improved, and my food choices have gotten better. If only there was an app to stop me from eating fries! I also like that it is a small gym with people of all ages and fitness levels where I don't feel judged. Danielle is a great trainer and motivates me to get the most out of each workout. She makes sure I'm doing the workouts I enjoy which makes my training sessions fun, except for Bear Crawls, ha, ha! Seriously, I hate Bear Crawls, but they get my heart rate up! I work outside on my feet, up and down all day, thought I was in pretty good shape, I decided to sign up for one of the over forty challenges and found out that wasnβt the case... After the challenge I decided to stay on and continue with the small group classes, I have more energy, my cardio has improved and I feel better. Before I started going to Axis I had not worked out in over 6 years, due to a hip injury. I had no energy, and little motivation and had gained back all the weight I had loss 7 yrs ago. My daughter convinced me to come do a semi-private class with her at Axis. Great way to get one on one instruction, and making sure I was using good form through the exercises. The trainers are very knowledgeable and do a great job of keeping me motivated. At the end of 8 weeks I had lost 4 lbs. of fat! And gained muscle. I have since transitioned to the small group training class. Its fun and a great workout. I can modify the moves to accommodate my personal needs, and I still feel like the trainers are giving me personal instruction. I found out I was diabetic in Jan 2019. I did not want to be on medication for the rest of my life and I didn't want to shorten my life with a controllable disease. I promised my doctor that I would change my diet and start exercising and if in 6 months I was still diabetic, then I would consider medication. I did just that and my second test was lower but not out of range. I found Axis Training Studio and met with Jake Thompson. I haven't exercised in 6 years so I explained my fears, my needs, and goals and Jake made me feel comfortable, welcome, and motivated. I joined in April 2019.I just completed 6 weeks of small group training and my last labs done this week showed I am no longer diabetic. I also lost weight, gained muscle, lost inches, and gained confidence. Best decision I have ever made was joining Axis Training!!! I had stopped exercising after an knee injury I caused myself exercising at home on my own. It took 2 years to heal completely. I was tired most of the time and I struggled with anything that required physical activity. I saw the AXIS advertisement on-line and it seemed to be a program that could help me to get back to exercising correctly with proper guidance and at a manageable pace. This is made possible, in part, by the latest fitness technology in their possession. I have been going to Axis Training Studios for the last half year and I could not be any happier with the results. Before I joined, I was really out of shape, a tad bit overweight and no endurance to speak of. Iβve lost over 10 lbs since joining and my energy level is getting better all the time.
The credit goes to Jake and his staff at Axis! They design workout programs that target strength and conditioning for beginners to the already physically fit athlete. I know the first few workouts were really tough and muscles were sore that I hadnβt even known existed before. Not long afterwards, I noticed the workouts getting easier and less painful. Clothes started getting baggier and i went down one, two belt sizes.
The staff at Axis really care about the well being of the members. I had a back injury recently that was painful and preventing me from working out. Jake met with me and worked on the problem area and got it working normally. He gave me ideas to workout without further injuring myself and strengthen my back. I am happy to say that I will be returning tomorrow to start working on my goals again. I have confidence knowing that the Staff at Axis literally have my back!
They also have a variety of healthy supplements, like the Flyte Life Super Greens pictured below. I like this stuff because it gets me that extra serving of vegetables quick and easy.

AXIS is the perfect fit for me. I am a busy professional that needs results without wasting time. I tried going to a standard gym, but always ended up spending at least an hour fumbling through a workout that I found online. I am almost done with week 4 of a 6 week fitness challenge at Axis Training Studio. I feel great! The trainers and small group sessions are a rigourous, but I feel so good after. I love the schedule they keep; it always starts on time, I arrive by 6:15 for warm up, do a 30 minutes work out, then warm down & am home by 7:15. I am exceeding my own expectations, as I truly have never stuck out any organized exercise regimen. Give it a try. You will get encouragement, custom adjustments, and caring friendly staff.

I'm one of those people who don't naturally have a great level of self-motivation when it comes to working out. I thought that doing classes at another gym in town would help me, and while the classes were fun, if I didn't show up no one would know or even care. When that's the case, it's a lot easier to choose pretty much anything over working out.
But AXIS provides me the accountability that I need to get fit and stay healthy. Their app allows me to sign up for the workouts I'm going to attend each week - because without a plan, I'm planning to fail. Working out with a small group of people who know me and follow up with me when I'm not there keeps me accountable to coming back - and also pushing my hardest when I'm there.
The ability to track my progress through measurements and body fat percentages allows me to see the progress I'm making, which is awesome! The trainers are encouraging and know how to motivate you to do more than you thought you were capable of.
All in all, it's a great place and you need to try it. You'll get in the best shape of your life!

Jake is a pro at what he does and he only hires trainers that abide by the same caliber.
I've been training at Axis for about 3 weeks now and my body looks and feels so much better. I started going to Axis about 6 months ago. I have never felt that I needed a personal trainer but somewhere between college and full time work, working out lost it's place as apriority in my life. I have some minor difficulties with exercises that were causing me to be unable to get what I should be getting out of my workouts. Throughout the last few months, the trainers at Axis have worked to customize every workout and focus on exercises that would have a real effect on my life.
Not only have they helped me get back into shape but they've helped me to see that I am able to achieve far more than I thought I could. Working with me and my crazy schedule, holding me accountable, being a positive influence and pushing me to my goals has changed the way that I see fitness. Although I have my own personal trainer, every single member of the axis team is willing and ready to help with questions or workout suggestions. When I was looking at gyms, one thing about AXIS really stood out to me: they're about the bigger picture. Yes, they'll get you into the best shape of your life, but they'll also do so much more. Got muscle imbalances and posture issues from sitting at work all day? They'll work on that. Does your diet need fine-tuning? They show how you how to use premium software to improve your diet. I've been training at AXIS for the past two plus years and absolutely LOVE IT! I started off with a 6-week session and fell in love with the atmosphere, my trainer, and the encouragement I received on a regular basis. After the 6-week period, I was HOOKED! Jake is incredibly dedicated to helping his clients achieve their goals. I started doing sprint triathlons last year, and wanted to train for an Olympic distance triathlon this year. Jake met with me for an intial consultation after I completed thorough questionnaires about my current training, my diet and sleep patterns. He took into account the fact that I work full-time and have a family. He asked me why I like to do triathlons. I really felt like he took the time to get a complete picture of who I am and what motivates me. Jake then designed a great training program that was completely doable given my schedule constraints. I have been able to exceed my expectations this season, winning the female Master's Division title for a local sprint triathlon series. When I experienced a minor setback with plantar fasciitis, Jake immediately offered to see me to evaluate the injury and gave me training exercises to work on. Probably most importantly, he gave me the confidence and reassurance to continue my triathlon training while taking a break from running. Jake is incredibly passionate about what he does, his expertise in exercise physiology makes him more knowledgeable than other trainers with whom I have worked, and he really cares about his clients and their success!

My wife and I both work out at Axis and I can tell you we have loved the results. I appreciate the fact that Jake, Jonathan, and the rest of the crew just aren't interested in fitness, but also in wellness. Jake does a very thorough intake and makes sure you are a good fit for their facility before they will even take you on as a client. That is commendable. They go above just getting you looking good but also care that you are feeling good and they have a great grasp on nutrition and nutritional advice. Axis Studio has turned my life around. Prior to starting a training program with Jonathan, I was fairly out of shape, smoked, and had an awful diet. I've been working out at Axis Training Studios for the past couple of months, and I am finally getting the results I have been looking for. I have been doing the small group training classes a couple of times a week. The classes are intense 30 minute workouts. Axis truly cares about your personal progress. Personal training sessions are planned in advance and take your goals and considerations (knees, back) into account. You are pushed and encouraged but not to a place where you feel like you failed. Small groups trainings are very diverse and help your overall body wellness. I've been coming to Axis Training Studio for 4 months now, and I couldn't be happier with the results I have achieved, with the customer service from Jake and the rest of the staff, and with the overall atmosphere provided at the studio. The other clients at Axis also provide an open, non-judgmental place for people who are serious about self-improvement. I would recommend Axis for anybody who is willing to put forth the effort to improve their personal fitness level.
