The retreat at Prana Paths was so heartwarming. Kristen was a gracious hostess. The Yoga Shala is an amazing screened in area with stone floors and grotto with a water fall and pool, all excellent additions for really feeling grounded. For me the sound of the running water really added to the overall experience. As well as being able to take a quick dip in the pool! I am grateful for the overall experience Kristen created. Such a beautiful space and she truly shares from her heart. I'll be back for more retreats in the future 🌞

Wow !! Who knew that taking a yoga class could literally change your life! I signed up for a six month program at a time in my life when I really needed some direction. I had just lost my husband several months before and I was just sort of drifting. I wasn’t sure I could do it. I didn’t have the energy I didn’t have the commitment etc. This group of ladies led by Kristen encouraged me, stood beside me. We became best buds, and I learned what self-care really is. I highly recommend signing up for any of Kristen‘s programs or classes.

Update 9/2022. Kristen's most recent course, Breathing Freely is a must do for everyone! To learn after all my years how to properly breathe is astounding! The opportunity to practice new techniques for everything that comes our way. Learn how to breathe thru anxiety, fear, waking up for the day, settling for the evening and much more. Kristen's yoga classes are great. If you want to dive deeper take one of her 8 week courses. They are life changing. I have often fought internally with mind/body/spirit. Kristen's courses assist in the three working together. Imagine the peace that comes from that! There is an AM and Pm course and video...it works with anyones schedule. All are deserving and it's a sweet deal. See you there!

This retreat was exactly what I needed. The silent aspect of the retreat helped eliminate the outside noise so I could listen to myself and my higher power. I am so thankful for the time I had to rest, center myself, and refocus. Dale and Kristen were amazing facilitators and created an open and neutral space for people of all backgrounds to feel welcome and safe.

I am still growing and learning as I try to apply the tools we learned at the retreat, such as self care, active listening, and mindfulness meditations.

I truly appreciated the beautiful setting in nature provided by the Canterbury Conference Center. The retreat center has done an amazing job honoring the natural Florida landscape.

I really appreciated the affordable price. What an amazing gift Dale and Kristen give to all who attend.

Let me start by saying, I am by no means a devoted yogi, and this was my first time participating in a silent yoga retreat. I was immediately worried I wouldn't be able to keep up physically or mentally (not to mention having to drive to what I thought would be the middle of nowhere with a bunch of strangers). Luckily, I quickly learned my rookie-level skills are not only acceptable for this yoga retreat, but also welcome. My safety fears were also quickly put to rest when I met the other incredibly lovely guests and our retreat guides Kristen and Dale.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions behind retreats of any kind is that you must participate in everything on the agenda. This is simply not true here. While I committed to taking part in every yoga class as a challenge to myself, other people opted out of a few of the other activities, and this was met without judgement.

There was some considerable self-reflection included in each of the yoga, mindfulness, and meditation sessions. There were guided meditations, encouraged journaling, introspective and thought-provoking philosophical discussions, a sounds bath (my personal favorite) and periods of prolonged silence.

It was truly a welcoming atmosphere. The stunning setting, the charm of the retreat, so lovingly and painstakingly intentional, the delicious and healthy food, the yoga, the walks, and the company. Those on the retreat and those looking after us, were simply magnificent.

Many thanks to Kristen and Dale for their hospitality and kindness. The retreat inspired me in many ways and opened my mind to new things. I’m hopeful I have the opportunity to return soon.

With the stresses of everyday life and the craziness that can be our life at times between school, work, sports, plays, events, new teenagers, pets and the rush, business and responsibility that comes with it all, I was looking for something for my kids and I to be able to wind down and refocus ourselves. We joined Kristens "Intro to yoga foundations: body, mind and breath" and I was not disappointed at all. My kids even loved it, it made them feel good and relaxed and they couldn't stop talking about it the rest of the day. What a lovely retreat Body in Unity yoga hosted! I highly recommend Kristen and Dale’s weekend retreats for those who need to recharge, breathe deeply, move gently, and soak in nature for a few days. The rooms are clean and simple. Meals are plentiful, and soft drinks, tea, and water are available round the clock. There are little nooks and crannies to hide with a book or journal. Retreats are so important to our mental health. I highly recommend this one: It soothed my soul and quieted my restless mind.

I attended the Body In Unity Meditation and Pranayama course. This was the first class that I have taken with Kristen and I could not be more impressed with her extensive knowledge and her ability to share her knowledge. I attended Kristen's Christian silent yoga retreat at the Canterbury Retreat Center in Oviedo, held August 28-30, 2020.

The food was excellent and the setting was beautiful.

I enjoyed how much time we spent outside. I was impressed we spent so much time outside, and in comfort, even though it was August in Florida!

Kristen's guidance was just right... letting us know what to expect and giving everyone freedom to participate or not... the lack of pressure was a relief.

Thanks to Dale, Kristen's husband, too. He did a lot of things behind the scenes, as did the great staff at Canterbury. I look forward to future retreats led by Kristen.

Took the online FeetUp course during lockdown. The course was delivered via YouTube sessions which I could follow in my own time, and then backed up with the option of remote coaching sessions if required. Great course, Kristen explains all techniques clearly, and helps you identify your limitations safely. Everything is demonstrated and explained clearly, with modifications too. You also have access to an online group which allows information to be shared easily. Highly recommend BodyInUnity Courses - their content is fun, but progressively challenging.

Feet Up yoga with Kristen Johnson@ BodyInUnity Yoga School was exactly what I was looking for. I watched several Feet Up videos on YouTube and even though I was able to execute the exercises, I was not fluent in my movements and was often sore or frustrated. Kristen was excellent at explaining the process in such a detailed way that I was able to perform every weekly exercise with grace and poise without being sore or frustrated.
Kristen teaches a foundation that most may not think of such as core movement, taking your time getting in and out of moves (not rushing), warm up prior, and stretching after. She is an excellent Feet Up/Yoga instructor and I look forward to taking many more classes with her in the future.

Body In Unity FeetUp online classes – Kristen’s training has proved that the FeetUp is not just a one trick pony! In a few short weeks not only am I getting in and out of inversions with ease and grace, but I’ve learnt how to use the FeetUp for so many non-inverted poses. Kristen teaches with to a range of student abilities and needs, gives good cues that get great results. Her classes deliver the right amount of detail without being overwhelming. Kristen's Feetup course is an excellent intro to using the Feetup trainer. This piece of equipment gives you the ability to do inversions with ease and less strain on your body. Kristen is an expert at this technique and she walks you carefully through it step by step. My daughter and I visited for the first time today. It was a beautiful experience for mind, spirit, and body. I encourage you to try BodyinUnity especially if you are new to the practice. Don was well able to help me see yoga in a new perspective today - joining my movement and breath in a restorative and mindful way. The studio is absolutely gorgeous as well. The murals and paintings are calming and the music was perfect. Kudos and thank you for being here for the community.

I had been going to physical therapy for over six months for mid back pain. The therapists (all of them) suggested I try yoga. A friend from church took me to a BodyInUnuity class and I was hooked. I have been attending classes since the beginning of November and can now get up and down off the floor with ease. My back issue is still there but the pain is now at a level that I have been able to resume some of my past activities and travel long distances in the car. But what I appreciate the most is the loving atmosphere and the focus on Christ and the Spirit's presence with us. Thank you Kristen for your ministry to us through Jesus.

This is an amazing place to do yoga! The biggest issue for most people is making the time to go to classes, but here it's so worth it! Each class is donation based, meaning you don't have to pay unless you'd like to donate to help the owner maintain the studio. Along with that, for each day there are different levels of skill, so if you're a total beginner there are classes for you; if you've been doing yoga for years then there are classes for you as well. Each teacher is incredibly kind an helpful, giving suggestions for modifications to poses in case something doesnt feel right for you. They are patient and extremely accommodating. If you're skeptical about taking time out of your already busy schedule, don't be. The classes here help you feel relaxed and get a workout at the same time in a safe, comfortable, and positive environment!

Everyone here is so friendly, accepting, loving and caring! BodyInUnity provides an experience that allows you, as an individual, to feel more deeply connected with and caring for oneself, in the presence of others.

By inspiring and teaching not only physical fitness, but also promoting emotional catharsis and spiritual clarity, a connection is felt throughout the studio, amongst the participants and instructor(s) present. I love this yoga studio! I've been going there for almost a month now. The owner has such a beautiful vision. People are welcomed with kindness into a warm loving judgement-free community, each class is taught in a way where no one is expected to execute moves beyond what they can healthfully achieve, classes are offered on a donation basis so that those struggling financially still have a place to go to maintain their spritual and physical health, there are classes to accommodate both beginners and more experienced students. They're located in Oviedo near the Oviedo bowling alley. Check 'em out, and see what they have to offer. I have benefited from their classes greatly and I think you could too!

This is a warm, inviting place for me as a beginning yoga student. Kristen is very experienced and provides plenty of challenge for even the most advanced attendees, while encouraging those of us just starting out to take care of ourselves and be OK with whatever level of ability we currently have. As a beginner, I have tried several local yoga classes but I wasn't able to keep up with everyone and I felt pain in several poses. Kristen takes the time to teach you proper stance and alignment so that you don't injure yourself and that each one of us needs to honor our bodies exactly where we are now. If you want to learn yoga, no matter what your age or disability is, I highly recommend you contact Kristen!
